Swimming Pool

The first few seconds are a blinding, shocking blast of white mint. Honestly, it feels like someone just sprayed you in the face with icy toothpaste, but in the most refreshing way possible. It’s a total shock to the system, exactly like jumping into a freezing cold swimming pool on a scorching hot day where you get instant goosebumps. But that intense opening is completely worth it. Just like your body adjusts to the water temperature, the fragrance settles down. While the eucalyptus stays with you practically all day, it beautifully mixes with your skin chemistry and the other herbs. It stops feeling 'artificial' and becomes something much more human, clean, and kind of sexy. I didn't think I'd like it at first, but during the recent London heatwave, it was the only thing I wanted to wear. Like most Bibbi fragrances, you can't judge it by the first five seconds. Give it time, wear it for a few hours, and let it evolve. It’s a masterpiece for hot weather.

I... smelled it without having the first idea about the notes. All the descriptors I could conjure had no earthly, sensible (fragrant) equivalents. No part of my brain lit up saying 'basil, mint, eucalyptus...' I simply found it to be ethereal, see through, luminous - a laser beam, or cold vapours hitting you in the face. Slightly sweet, unripe apricot sparkles, the texture of citrus without its odour. It's one of the very few things in the shop that stopped me in my tracks and made me think 'Now THAT'S something I haven't smelled before.' Very gracefully blended, nothing about it said 'natural' to me. Pure synthetic bliss

I don't understand the bad reviews, it's absolutely beautiful. Love it on me. Really different, fresh, green, sweet and spicy. A beautiful basil fragrance. Love the mint coming through underneath. Long lasting, I've had it on all day and it's still going strong, especially love the middle and dry down. Perfect for summer time. Reminds me a little of Basilico and Fellini, although the scent profile is different, they are a similar vibe, both beautiful basil fragrances, fresh, green, spicy and aromatic. Delicious. Also love Ghost of Tom. Look forward to layering them.

What a revelation! I love this and I normally go for heavy amber-vanillas. But it's so nice to change up the scent profile a bit and go for something fresh and lively, even though it's the middle of winter here in Australia. Mint is fantastic in perfumes! I think I will wear summer freshies in winter and heavy ambers in summer from now on. This is simply marvellous.

Bibbi Swimming Pool is pure summer in a scent 💦☀️ Fresh, cool, and uplifting like diving into clear water on a hot day. Light, happy, and instantly refreshing.

I’ve always struggled with prominent mint notes in perfume, as they always seem to come off too much like toothpaste. A shame such a unique and varied plant be reduced to unpleasantness from no fault of its own, but simply by association. This however, is a brilliant example of how to do a good mint perfume without going wrong. The mint is intensely sharp and rejuvenating, its slightly fuzzy yet refreshing leaves smell photorealistic, paired with basil and ginger to give it some lift. I don’t get much reference to a swimming pool, save for a very approachable watery facet in the background, which gracefully saves the scent from being far too herbal. Geranium adds to the fresh-spicy minty-ness, bolstered by amberwoods. This is among the better mint perfumes I’ve come across, but it still doesn’t make me want to wear it. I’ve come to accept perhaps mint just isn’t for me.

Opens with a big ole’ feisty blast of mint and basil, ultra fresh and bold. The whole thing is wonderfully bright and freshly cut, chopped by the bunch-load. It’s a bracing start, but a pleasing one, like finding a spot of shade on a scorching day, or slipping into a cold swimming pool. That’s where the pool vibes begin and end for me - there’s no chlorine here, thankfully, and nothing aquatic or airy-fairy. Ginger lurks in the background, so things never become too chilly, and the geranium note is light and credibly fresh, the stuff of a newly arranged bouquet. The sweet hints of grass arrive a little later, softening everything down into something warm and woody, far more shy and retiring as it sits closer to the skin. A delight.

Not sure how much the name "swimming pool" suits this fragrance. "Poolside mojito" or "herb garden" maybe. I don't get a chlorine edge at all, this is pure, realistic, refreshing, mint and a slightly bitter and medicinal eucalyptus. Incredibly cooling and soothing. Basil also shows up to add a little warmth and to smooth off the edges from the sharp, icy mix. It's a nice composition which would probably work best during the peak of the summer heat, and may come off a bit like you have smothered yourself in medical balm under other circumstances.

To me this one smells like a luxurious SPA resort with saunas and clean towels. There’s no chlorine vibe at all. Fresh mint, eucalyptus and a hint of geranium. The dry down is woody but not heavy. It’s quite fresh and relaxing, I’d say it’s perfect for summer. From all of the Bibbi perfumes on the market — Swimming Pool is definitely my favourite one.

Got a sample of this. A nice fresh scent that reminds me of a Finnish sauna and birch twig whip used during midsummer celebration. Eucalyptus is also strong not synthetic at all in my opinion. The name might suggest it would have a pool cleanser or a chlorine vibe, not true in my opinion.

This had a beautiful minty fresh opening but as it dries down the basil puts me off. I’m not writing this one off though. Definitely worth revisiting this in summer heat.

Bellsprout’s review below me made me chuckle.. I don’t mean to be rude, but THAT description for something that just smells like mouthwash/toothpaste is quite funny to me. “Ethereal” as a descriptor for mint? Yeah, I don’t know about that. I kid you not, all biases aside, I haven’t checked fragrantica for any notes on this until today because for the past 2 weeks of wearing this I only had one note in mind - mint. Cold, toothpaste-y mint. That’s it, that’s all there is to this. Dry-down is linear, longevity is good, sillage is alright. But I don’t necessarily want to smell like toothpaste the entire day. What I’m currently doing is I’m layering this with some other freshies, but even then the mint just takes over if I’m being honest. Look, I don’t hate it, it’s just not something I’d ever reach for. 6/10

This one wasn't for me. Lovely green and fresh scent. It's the mint and eucalyptus that turns me off. To much like a shower gel/mouthwash/toothpaste.

This was really offensive to my nostrils. Not many of the notes are ones I like so I don’t know what I was expecting. However, the combination of basil, mint and eucalyptus makes for a herbal bomb that I cannot handle. It’s quite strong. I dare say it lasts a good while, but unfortunately I had to scrub it off my hand so I’ll never know. Definitely not feminine. Stings the nostrils. So if you decide to dip a toe in the Swimming Pool...good luck?

Genuinely so disgusting. Had to shower immediately to get rid of the smell. Felt like I was going to be sick.

Surprised that 'chlorine' isn't listed as the main note, as that's all I'm hit with in the opening. It triggers the chlorine vapor nose-tickle surrounding an outdoor pool. I guess this is the impressive effervescence of the mint and eucalyptus, yet somehow they turn perceptively chemical. And no, I'm not being influenced by the name, that is EXACTLY what this smells like. The dry down is less avant-garde. In fact, I get your mass market designer masc-leaning fragrance a la Bleu de Chanel after an hour or so. I also detect something pasta sauce-y that lingers, maybe the basil? The opening I simply cannot reconcile. Certainly a niche take on a Summer fragrance in the sense that only a very eccentric few would choose to wear this. Fresh spicy is a reach, this is the scent of a swimming pool. I'll take your generic Summer tiare flower-coconut blend any day, if it means not smelling like this (sorry!).

Finally tested this today and get absolutely zero toothpaste. This is def a minty fragrance. Very much blended with ginger and woods. Don’t get much basil, but geranium is a player. On the Dry down, the mint is pretty much in the background. Mostly getting ginger and a green woody Amber. Really easy to wear and lasts a good 5-6 hours easily. I plan on upgrading to a full bottle soon.

This one wasn't for me. It's in the same genre as Sisley l'Eau rêvée d'Hubert. It opens *super* sharp, and menthol-like, but also spicy. The dry down is just a softer version of the opening. For those who like the above example, and also something like DS & DURGA Big Sur Eucalyptus.

And here is my favorite from the house: Swimming Pool. A refreshing, sparkling fragrance, like fresh sparkling water in which fresh green mint leaves and basil have been crushed. A gem for summer! No 'pool chlorine' vibe at all, People are crazy 😂

Bright minty eucalyptus opening, rolling into a smooth, sunscreen, powder/musk herbal situation after 45 mins. I love the opening but am surprised at how fleeting it is. Still very nice and spa-like
