I totally understand why people rave about this perfume, because it is pure beauty. I was eager to try it because of the notes: tonka, sandalwood, labdanum, cinnamon, peach, plum, cardamom. And indeed I feel them all very clearly, and in such a harmonious interplay! I cannot tell if al02 is sweet or powdery, or woody, because it's all this. The opening is very fruity, after that unfold the flowers (rose and carnation) and spices (cardamom!), and the base is more on the woody side. But, again, it's a 3D perfume, it's multidimensional and full of surprises. When I wore al02 from my dab vial (just two drops on my wrists), my non-perfumista friend (and a woman of sophisticated taste) told me that she bets it is one of the great classics. "I cannot tell you exactly which one, but it definitely was created years ago and has had a great success... and it is not commonly worn because it's very expensive and also is an evening, festive perfume". To me, it says it all. I would not agree with the "evening" part, though. I wanna wear it all the time. Life is too short to save wonderful things for special occasions. I think we should enjoy life every day :) 10/10

An encounter at Jamba Juice in the not-so-distant past... Counter Guy: (Looks up with surprise) What are you wearing? You smell great! Me: You can smell it from there? I'm sorry! I'm testing a sample. Counter Guy: (Firmly) Whatever it is, you should get it. Me: I was afraid it might smell too "80s." Counter Guy: It smells mature, but not "80s." And there you have it. The nose knows. ---------- Based on previous reviews I had braced myself for a dramatically green opening. It's green and citrusy, sure, but nothing as traumatic as the opening of Cartier's Must, just a tad more citrusy than Chanel's Coco. I even kinda like it. Sometimes, in the middle phase, the tonka and labdum can make it super smooth, like the skin of a plum pudding. It's not syrupy or artificially sweet, though. The final and longest phase is a spicy, warm, Christmas-like scent where the cinnamon and incense take over. It's incredibly comforting. It also lasts an incredibly long time - even through baths. The Jamba Juice Guy and I have grown rather fond of it.

This is absolutely amazing. A very complex scent, magistrally crafted, addicting, totally evocating and exciting. The opening it's actually not so suprising as the fruits note are really dominant but within a few seconds all the ingredients start to react chemically and create a supreme and very sofisticated allure that's litterally intoxicating (in a very good way). Sometimes pungent, sometimes sweet, sometimes dry it continuely changes and evolves depending on the note that momentarely shows up. Vetiver and vanilla, incense and tonka bean, mandarine and labdanum, oppsites fighting for you pleasure. This one could be a masterpiece if it only had a longer lasting power and better sillage, but a favourite anyway. Similar to AL2 is Versilia Platinum by Profumi Del Forte (a quite hard to find and quite expensive perfume) where Arturetto Landi reached his perfection giving the scent an incredible lasting power and a super projection...check it out, you won't be disappointed. Rating: 7.5/10

Parfum pour un ange God it is beautiful! I can not prevent myself to close my eyes and let me be lulled when I breathe this perfume. This is the perfume sculpture of an odalisc, a silverware of notes. When you think it will fall into easy sweetness fresh notes come to invigorate and when you think it falls in simplicity new notes arise. Very difficult to describe because of its complexity, I find it mainly revolves around tonka bean, the flower of Carnation and cardamom. Unisex, easy to wear, very elegant, this fragrance deserves the highest praise. Really great composition. I do not know any comparable perfume. I deliberately tried Versilia Platinum from the same Nose in Profumi Del Forte to compare and couldn't smell any resemblance at all.

This is so amazing fragrance. So full of chic and tenderness. For sure this is fragrance for both sexes. Full of flowers a little bit sweet and milky but very very deep and fascinating. I don’t know similar fragrances, so it is difficult to compare to something commonly known. Extremely cozy and making me happy. Smell of joy and smile. I really recommend it for everybody who doesn’t like mass market perfumes but need bright full of light fragrance. The base is very long lasting and make around you sexy and joyful aura. Like a journey to the heaven.
