Bijan

This caramelizes with my chemistry over several hours -- turning into a delicious broth of pleasure - excitement - and optimism! It is playfully sexy, sweet. It has a Musk LIFT to it, that really melds with my chemistry over a period of several hours. This is one of those 1980's fragrances that I was first exposed to while in a sorority. This girl walked close to me - and the smell was so mesmerizing that it was as if you had just caught a whiff of something magical in the air. There is a blend of fragrance notes that are sheer optimism! Got to LOVE THAT! This is one of those fragrances that I thought I had cycled through, I put it in the back of the drawer - and for years have reached for other fragrances. I thought I was pretty well DONE with this. However, watching all of the Facebook political posts whizzing through my news feed -- I'm keenly aware that I need a serious dose of OPTIMISM in my life. Something HAPPY -- and I reach for THIS FRAGRANCE! Immediately after spraying this, my boyfriend takes notice. He's caught on to the fact that I pay attention to everything that he says in regards to fragrance. As I was spaying this one day, he casually asked me the name of it. (Hmmmmm... this always means something, doesn't it? Yes - he likes the fragrance - and is making a mental note of this for a future gift -- or possibly a gift for his mom, or something -- who knows). He has since revealed that this is his FAVORITE fragrance on me... he even said, "this is the fragrance that I look for - when I am looking for you while out shopping... or before we are scheduled to meet, it leaves a trail - of YOU". And all this time I've been looking for the NEW perfect scent... when it was here all the time! The compliments - the chance encounters where I find someone edging more closely to get a whiff of this, the sparkle in people's eyes as they talk with me! That's OPTIMISM all right! Yeah -- -------- (Personally, I'm tired of the watered-down, wimpy, cotton candy-like fragrances that ALL basically smell the same. I won't purchase anything like that, sorry!

♫ Oh, you beautiful doll, you great big beautiful doll ♪ Literally, this smells on opening like a big new rubber doll to me ... and it’s not a bad thing either! This is so weird, but great at the same time. If you remember how new dolls used to smell, when they used rubber to make them, you might know what I’m talking about. Rubbery, but also mimosa sweet. (Smell a vintage cupie doll and you'll know what I mean.) Mimosa isn’t listed as one of the notes, but that is what I am getting here on opening. I’m having a hard time even explaining it. It must be the ylang-ylang, tonka, and combination of spices that is giving it that sweet rubbery floral mimosa scent on opening. From that strange, but wonderful opening, it morphs into a creamy, spicy, custardy, vanilla tinged amber floral that’s honey sweet, but also a little earthy from the oakmoss. The fragrance has a lot of body and Oomph! Many here have mentioned the powdery dry down, which is beautiful, but for me the most delightful aspect of this fragrance on dry down is the soapiness which is evocative of the finest French milled soaps. In a way it reminds me of Obsession; but Obsession’s soapiness is masculine compared to this. I love Obsession for the same clean feeling reason and its non-cloying soapiness, but this scent is edible compared to that. Oh, that creamy, custardy, vanilla, honey and spice! I know my review isn’t doing justice to this fabulous fragrance, but suffice to say that I love it, and I am so grateful to have learned about it thanks to all the wonderful Fragrantica members here. PS – I want a stockpile of this AND I need the edp of this NOW!

Vintage EdT/EdP: Wonderful, big fresh but heady green chypre white-floriental that references the classics without old-fashioned touches like aldehydes or a sweet powdery base. The opening is my favorite part, a lovely natural citrus-basil accord. The heart's tuberose, ylang, orange blossom, heliotrope (judiciously dosed) and honey create a lovely doughy, round pretzel accord. Bijan's light touches of oakmoss, patchouli, and soapy orris root provide a counterweight to the floral and amber sweetness. The heart accord is powerful with an overdose of a "tuberose" white floral molecule extending well into the base (methyl benzoate?) – by which Carnal Flower was perhaps directly inspired – which may turn off some. I do get all the many accords listed here in the pyramid. Performs like a classic too, with all-day projection. EdT slightly brighter/lighter than the EdP but not a big difference other than the concentration. Would love to try the vintage parfum one day. Reformulation (Five Star Perfumes, EdT): Horrific synthetic white-floral chemical swill, but still maintains some of the structure and balance, which is why I sought out the vintage. There's an echo of something great here (the original heart accord) and somehow the whiny, screechy loud mess has something charming about it, but it's not worth your time per se. What I imagine old ladies from the former Eastern Bloc with ten layers of makeup on wear to intimidate in-laws.

I LOVE Bijan! I’m typically picky about my floral fragrances. I usually reach for fruity and sweet. But as I’m becoming an adult, I love florals. I love feeling feminine and luxurious. This opening is luxurious at first, for sure. It’s a little sharp for maybe the first two hours. But it dries down into this sweet, floral, honey smell. But it’s not sickeningly sweet. It’s just right. It’s perfect for summer. I know it’s listed as a fall fragrance, but I definitely think florals are for the summer. The warmth projects the fragrance just right. Usually I do not get compliments on my fragrance. Especially since it wears off in the school air. Fragrances do not last on me and I usually have to touch up. But no, this is perfect. I’m on hour five of wearing this fragrance. One of my girlfriends hugged me and gasped and said I smelled SO good, and mind you, this is a younger girl. It’s still youthful! When I move my arms, I can smell the fragrance on me and it makes me relaxed. I love everything retro, I love feeling feminine, and I love this fragrance. I highly recommend for any 80s fans or any woman looking for something divine. If this fragrance could be a song, it would be “I’m Every Woman” for sure. Perfect fragrance for every day wear. You can dress this up or down. Beautiful.

I've only tried the vintage version, in both the EDT and EDP. I'm really surprised not to see more comparisons to Lou Lou by Cacharel, one of my all-time favorites. Bijan has a similar oriental powderiness but is, as an earlier review mentioned, "sunnier." I almost think of it as a more wearable, daytime version of Lou Lou. Yesterday I compared the EDT to the EDP and found the EDP to be richer, a bit sweeter, and predictably longer-lasting, although they aren't worlds apart in terms of composition. The floral note in the EDT smells slightly drier and more herbaceous, which makes me prefer the EDP, but that was pretty much the only difference I noticed other than longevity. As to be expected from an 80's fragrance they both project very well, and just one spray of the EDP across my chest garners compliments when people hug me, even several hours after applying. I also think this is safe for people who might be leery of a vintage scent - it has all the great qualities of "real perfume" without smelling dated. It can also still be found for a reasonable price on eBay, so this will be a permanent fixture in my perfume wardrobe. It seems most of these lackluster reviews are for the current version, to which I cannot speak.

So sorry this one escaped me for so long! Bijan is sweet with buttery facets. it's so pleasing to my senses.Notes melt together and combine again to produce a scent that can almost be tasted. I have to say the ad didn't do anything to pique my interest, and actually might be the reason I haven't been interested in trying this fragrance. The advertisement left me confused.A weird mess of conflicting images of models and famous women. Meanwhite. the scent is just the kind of scent I can get hooked on. Bijan is all things great- it's super glamourous classy and the kind of composition that for me is easy to love.It hearkens back to Fauborg 24 and Raffinnee with that central prominent sweet amber/orange accord I love. Similar, yet so much more affordable! Mmm momentary sadness about Raffinee. Marie69( Love your review!) is so right on in describing Bijan as a Flor-iental with the emphasis on Floral.I can say that it is one of the best perfumes to come out of the period and possibly my favorite, along with LouLou. The ad was possibly more famous than the perfume. Bijan was certainly well promoted. I can't help but wonder if others who saw the the big miss in the ad campaign avoided it for the same reason.

A lush oriental. Vintage EDP for review. Bijan has a unique viewpoint vs the other orientals. Its very feminine in nature. Sometimes the oriental genre veers into gender bending territory with the exotic woods, spices and deep resins. Bijans floral mix keeps the feminine edge. The ylang and honey gives it a rich warmth with the benzoin. Opulent, heavy and feminine. Silage is moderate to heavy depending on number of sprays and can introduce you before you arrive. Sometimes I cant believe I was rocking this scent when I was 21, but I always had a compliment from females and male admirers. Its still stunning today with its floral heart and composed in the grand manner where it takes TIME to develop through her stages. A must try for vintage oriental lovers. A very romantic, sensual oriental. The Bijan flagship store in beverly hills had a crystal chandelier made up of large bottles of the parfum. It was just a stunning marvel to see back in the day, Ahhh Rodeo Drive, big 80s perfumes like Bijan....match made in heaven. Note: the current formulation keeps the Bijan spirit but it isnt as rich. Give it time to get past the opening and starts to settle down like the vintage.

This is how Superwoman smells. No, not the one with the red cape--the one who decorates her house with home-grown flowers, feeds her children homemade bread and local honey, makes passionate love to her husband every night and balances a busy, fulfilling professional life. The mythic Superwoman. This is her smell: sweet honey, sexy sandalwood, a backdrop of gorgeous flowers and a bit of spicy-sass. When this perfume came out, maybe women still believed that they could be Superwoman; I for one know that she is a fairy-story, but I still love this fragrance. It captures every aspect of femininity. The strongest notes to my nose are a balmy-musky-rich-honey, and a sultry sweet sandalwood. It is an addictive smell. It is almost gourmand, but soooo much more; a perfect Oriental Floral. I'm wearing the EDT, and find it pleasantly strong (3 spritzes), with good sillage and 5 hour longevity. I think this captures a feminine essence in a way I haven't often smelled. While I don't often try to be all things to all people, I love a perfume that captures so many aspects of being a woman.

I just received my vintage mini in the mail yesterday, sniffed it immediately and was in heaven. I'm wearing it today though, and I'm torn. I was in love with this fragrance back in the 80s when I was a teen, but this is pure Dial soap on me now. I don't know why it smells better in the bottle than on my skin. It's lacking a bit of complexity. I wish it had something like an aldehyde to make it fizz because for some reason it's really, really flat. Could be that my bottle is off. I almost bought a full-sized unopened vintage bottle in addition but I'm really glad I waited. Not sure how often I'm going to wear this, because I want to smell like more than soap. I'm wondering if I should layer on a leather scent like Cuir Fetiche, which it actually does remind me of. Yep, just did it and I'm much happier. EDIT: Wearing this again on New Years Eve (daytime) and I'm so much happier. I don't smell soapy anymore wearing this, which is a relief. It is warm and slightly spicy, slightly honeyed, a little sweet but not in a sugary way. I love Bijan!

To be truthful i wasnt expecting much from this juice at all & had convinced myself it was going to be an extreme power ballad of clashing notes, despite the good reviews. How wrong was i. This has been long overdue on my list & im just so sorry that i have put off buying this. I took a chance & bought the whole gift set blind & im pretty chuffed that i did. It opens fairly powerful but literally seconds later the floral notes awaken to reveal their hidden depth. If a perfume were to be a colour this would be pink...pink rose & pink carnations being the dominant qualities. Thirty minutes later the benzoin & vanilla join the orchestra to begin the crescendo that plays with my nose. I find it hard to single out other notes but what i do smell is wonderful. My chemistry allows this juice to be a creamy & comforting floral that hugs closely. I wont be waiting to empty this bottle before i buy more, i shall be buying more whilst the gift set was a bargain at £16. A massive winner for me & a very good blind buy.

I love it! Bijan is up there along my favourites Tabu and Toujour moi that are classics with an individual personality. Inspite the honey note, this is not a cloyingly sweet scent thanks to bergamot and patch which keeps it fresh yet sensuous and modern. Huge bonus is the lack of aldehydes which would date it, it's the secret of success of so many 'drugstore' classics, that makes them timeless and superb.Bijan is in equal measures fresh and warm and sensuous thanks to expert blending and composition, the prominent honey note blended with bergamot and rose, sweetened ever so slightly with benzoin and backed by patchouli, all that plus a hefty dose of old school charm and feminine allure and you get a timeless gem that lasts beyond trends. A true beauty with attitude and personality, NOT for the faint hearted or wallflowers. I want to thank all my Fragrantica friends for introducing me to this gem. I finished my first bottle and ordering my second. Thank you!

I think I’ve already reviewed this but I’m back to say this is one of my favorites out of my collection! So sweet, powdery and floral, it’s addicting. It blows me away how good it smells every time I haven’t worn it in a while and I go back to it. I wish I could describe it better but if you like rich sweet powdery floral you’ll love this! It’s not like Jill sander, that’s more fruity. It also not like rapture, that also has a more fruity flower forward scent. This is like sweet florals dusted with an oriental amber powder. It will forever be in my top 10 I’ll never be without a bottle! I have the edp which is super dark, richer and just smells like a more concentrated version of the edt which it obviously is. It has more ‘spice’ to it. The edt is more powdery and a bit lighter but still glorious and I feel like there’s not a big enough difference to hunt for an edp if you have the edt. They are pretty much the same and both amazing!

I received in the mail today a vintage box of Bijan Bijan for women in the original puzzle box made in Beverly Hills, Ca. This is the first time I'm smelling this parfume. The scent is thick and sweet with a bit of warmth from the carnation and a dash of cinnamon. It smells of wealth strolling on Rodeo Drive in the late 1980's. It's very sexy in a sassy sophisticated, experienced woman type of way. It's gorgeous. Perfect for those statement moments when you want to control the room and everyone in it. It's nice to wear something so daring with such confidence sometimes. I'm happy I decided to add a vintage bottle of Bijan to my collection. There is something about the thick sweetness of the aroma (maybe the Tuberose?) which invokes my memory of long since retired beauty, Giò Giorgio Armani Parfume for women. Hopefully, I'll get my hands on a sample of Giò at some point to compare the two. I will update at later date.

People, if you want to smell this wonderful fragrance you have to find the original fragrance which has a white cap just like the picture above. It should also say Bijan Fragrances on bottom of the bottle. I purchase a sight unseen new bottle for my niece, who loved the scent of my bottle, and was disappointed to find that the cap is now clear, and it now smells very synthetic and cheap. It bears little resemblance to the original fragrance and I could understand some being disappointed in the scent if they happened to get the new formulation. I also have the Five Star edp but to be honest I think the original edt by Bijan Fragrances is better in every way and has better silage and longevity. I love this scent and find it really seems to get better in the heat even though I only used it in the cooler months before. The warmth seems to crystalize all the notes making this scent luminous. Fantastic!

I have the edt and the edp in this. I tried the edp and it was too much for me. I'll revisit it later. Personally, I never thought I would find a perfume that was too strong since I tend to like powerhouse perfumes. I tried the edt today and I am liking it a lot more than the edp. It is clean and floral but mostly a soapy scent on me. Bijan Nude is soapy on me as well but more powder than floral. Bijan Nude is one of my favorite perfumes. This probably won't be in my top favorites, but I don't find it offensive which is saying something, since I'm not much of a fan of floral perfumes. I'd wear this on days I want to wear perfume around people who don't like my spicy orientals like Tabu, Opium and Obsession. I'd love to try the vintage formulation. UPDATE: I tried this again and I find myself disliking it after aabout an hour or so. It changes on my skin. Bummer!

This is such a happy scent! It takes me back to when I was a little girl and my mom used to take me on long walks through the countryside. I imagine we're walking that narrow dusty path through the fields - some of them have wheat growing on them but some of them are full of wild growing flowers with bees sipping from them. The air is dry, hot and filled with the wonderful smell of flowers. Just before we left I had washed my hair and I can still smell the fresh and clean scent of my shampoo. It's the nineties so of course I'm wearing a fanny pack and guess what I've just found there? A caramel candy! It tastes like cream and smells of the most delicious vanilla. All these smells just work together to create this perfection of a summer day and I can now relive it everytime I put on this wonderful gem by Bijan. I hope it never gets discontinued.

I've been wearing this since 2010. It's a sweet amber vanilla spicy scent that's extremely alluring, sexy and seductive. A very strong sweet musky scent like Paco Rabanne Olympea without the salt. I get tons of compliments when I wear this fragrance, mostly from men. During one holiday season a man asked me in a Ross store where did I get this fragrance. I showed him the box on the fragrance shelf, he immediately grabbed it to purchase as a gift for his wife and thanked me. Ross should have paid me commission cause I received many more compliments that day. In my opinion, ladies, you have to know who you are ... this is not a fragrance for little girls. You have to enjoy being a woman to wear this scent. Though it's considered to be a bit out dated, let me tell you, it can still turn a mans head! My husband loves it!

Aha! I begin to understand.... Bijan was founded by a Persian - no WONDER the feeling of middle eastern richness I cannot ignore. My tastes appear to be more congruent than I'd originally thought. I am in love with the opulence of fragrance oils from this part of the world. Even the budget oils - such as Al Rehab - can provide a magic carpet ride experience! Shortly after purchasing Bijan, it occured to me that there was something familiar about the feeling of Decadence and Satisfaction evoked. Layering with Jovan Intense Oud did not lessen the impression. ;) I suggest that fans of Bijan might consider the wonderful world of Arabian oils, particularly the honeyed scents. Be prepared for astonishment and delight.... or at least an adventure!

For everyone that is heartbroken that Fendi by Fendi was disc. this might be your consolation. The opening is nothing like Fendi but the mid notes and especially the dry down are very much like Fendi. This scent opens with a lot of lilly of valley on my skin among some other unidentifiable florals and I almost panicked because that is not my type of fragrance but then it immediately went to honey and some spices I don't see listed. Oh the dry down is what I'm all about. Sandlewood, patch, cedar. This would be a woody oriental in my opinion, if not for the carnation. The dry down is divine! This is a powerhouse fragrance like those of the 80's tended to be but I love this and am quite happy with it being my consolation for no more Fendi.

Most of my perfume in my collection is connected in some way with my past..Linked to an event, memories, moments, persons, emotions... I just remember of my favorit teacher from the school. I admired her, I just wanted to be like she was.:)She wore this scent in the end of the 80's. After 15 years,-around 6 years ago-,I explored this fragrance again,(I just recognised on someone) and nowadays I was the one who is wearing this beauty proudly and heads held high.:) Wonderful oriental floral, sweet and spicy, smokey and earthy,bold and vibrant fragrance. Mostly carnation, tuberose, honey,patchouli, amber,musk and orris noticable in this powerful essence.One small drop is last all day long. A must have for every oriental floral lovers!;)

I was very lucky to find an original formula miniature in the patented puzzle box from an eBay seller in France. I had been intrigued by the bottle design and being on a quest to seek out original formulations, I was so excited to see that little bottle in its original box. Bijan did not disappoint! I loved it so much that I soon bought a full sized bottle, though half empty, I have no regrets! By some feat of double luck, a seller on one of the fragrance Facebook pages I frequent had this bottle of the very first formula for sale; the precious juice inside is like golden sunshine, yellow spring flowers and sweet honey. Bijan is a perfect example of my reasoning behind tracking down original formulations. I regret nothing!

I just got this bad boy not long ago, I was super excited to try it but also nervous after reading about the disappointments after the reformulation. I wasn't alive yet to experience the beauties of the original one, but I couldn't resist trying. The opening is very sharp and intensely floral. I thought I had made a mistake. But you just have to wait. The opening notes settle down pretty quickly, then the honey, carnation, and orris root become detectable. It's starting to become amazing. And then, the final dry-down is delicious creamy florals, musky, mossy, warm amber, and vanilla. I can imagine wearing it all year round, even on a cool, rainy summer evening. The pacifier bottle is hilarious though.

I first tried this on back in the 1980's, when it was one of a number of intense, dressy, sophisticated REAL perfumes! At the time, it was a bit too much for me and I passed it by. Last year I found a gift set with a one ounce spray and a body lotion for $5 at Big Lots and decided to try it again. Maybe it's because I am now a post-menopausal woman with dry skin, but it works SO much better on me than it did then! The spicy white florals and warm oriental notes are soft and inviting on me now, instead of pushy. The fact that it lasts like crazy means a lot more to me now, too! This year I found great deal on a larger gift set at TJ Maxx and I'm good with this scent for this winter!

For nitsa62: to answer ur question: U were asking what Bijan Bijan smells like? It is kinda like Chanel #5 but a tad sweeter. Kinda like Revlon Ciara but less sweet n a bit more floral. Close to Victoria Secrets Rapture but not as sweet. If u can't wear Ch #5, this may be another option for that old world elegance. It's definitely not a modern scent but more like old money chic. If u go to the stores n try Ch #5 which is probably the easiest to find these days, u will get an idea of the directions of Bijan Bijan. It's a slight twist of Ch #5 which is still so popular even today. Gotta b a reason for that right? Plus price on this is a mere fraction in comparison!!

You know, I just have to say this again....If you like vintage chanel no 5, if you like Bal a Versailles, if you like vintage rapture (which sounds silly, but the version back in the day was better than what they sell now).....If you like any of those listed above and want something "along those lines", you have got to try bijan out. The one in the circular bottle with the white circular top. I'm telling you, the fragrance is soooooo much better than that bottle looks. It smells like expensive, smooth amber and honey. It's warm and just dry enough. Don't let that price tag fool you! This is so feminine and beautiful. Definitely one of my favorites of all time.

Testing a mini EDP vintage original. Now this one is interesting because to me, it is a FLORiental with the emphasis on the FLOR. Now it DOES have a sort of Giorgio element to it, yes, due to its sheer flor-escent radioactivity. This perfume was designed to cut through the smoke-laden dancing madness, and general debauchery of Studio 54...so these perfumes had their function. This perfume was also competing with things like Poison, Opium, Giorgio, and all manner of other liquids now considered bio hazards or something...Follow the money on that one... Give it a minute. The drydown is NICE. For me this is a thumbs up but TINY TINY dab pls. No sprays, too much.

I was given this in a swap 4 years ago, almost to the day! And at first, I wasn't sure if I liked it or not and almost gave it away. Thankfully, I did not!! I was going through my collection of perfumes and wearing ones that have been neglected by me for a long time. I put this on and I instantly fell in love with it!! The orange blossom and heliotrope are amazing and the benzoin, sandalwood and honey give it depth. It's all I want to wear right now!! I'd love to do a swap with someone who has the round bottles with the white lid. The older,the better. Hit me up and let's try make a deal! I'm pretty active in the Facebook Fragrance Friends group.

I don’t get the association other reviewers have to Channel no5, in fact I can’t stand Channel no5 but I absolutely love Bijan. It’s an unapologetic ode to honey soaked flowers and benzoin. There’s something so yummy about Bijan, with it’s rich unfolding complexity as it settles on the skin. While I agree there’s something of the soap scent to it, it’s in the fine milled luxuriously expensive sense. The lasting power is terrific and silliage is monsterous without it ever being a perfume that chokes the room ...rather, it turns heads. The current affordability of it belies it’s rich vavavoom scent. What a winner.

I have a vintage puzzle box EdT. This is really lovely. I don't know what to say about it except I pretty much agree with the notes votes. I would add that there's a brightness to the opening that smells a little aldehydic. Not like Chanel aldehydes, but maybe benzyl salicylate. Just a fresh soapy sharpness to the florals, but not powdery like Chanel. I swear my mother wore this in the 90s. She never remembers what she wore when I ask her though. It's a lovely warm amber, yet bright and sunny perfume for a grown woman. The ads from the time match it perfectly. I miss this 80s style of perfumery.

The epitome of decadent florientals..... utterly ravishing. I could swear there was civet here, though the culprit may well be a combination of honey and narcissus. These lively notes add an animalic warmth that is extraordinary! Not for the faint of heart. But those who love Joop Femme may wish to give this beauty a try also. For astounding warmth and tenacious longevity, it's hard to beat these two outrageous florientals. Yet for all their allure, there's something almost cozy about their siren song - perfect for a long winter's cuddle!

So many notes, but blended in such a perfect way that this fragrance is an unforgettable one. Bijan is all about sexy sandalwood, sweet honey, super-smelling flowers and a bit of spiciness. This fragrance holds well all the aspects of women. To me, the musky-balmy-honey rich scent with the sandalwood that is sweet and sexy are perfect. I am totally addicted to this super-duper fragrance that is almost gourmand with some extra to it that makes it a perfect oriental floral one. This one is perfect for the winters, autumn and cold nights.

OH MY GOD WHERE DO I START!!!! I went to VS on Sept 09,2016 and sampled alot of fragrances sadly the ones i bought did not fit me, I walked out the store and kept smelling rapture as i had sprayed it on me, I went right back in because I had to have it, it lasted all day on me and made me feel sexy, warm, cozy. It smells like expensive perfume but it is not I got the mist of it not the actual perfume but it smells lovely and I use it everyday, I finally found a perfume that goes with my body chemistry what a relief.!!!

This has been my favourite perfume for over 25 years. I love the bottle, the smell, how it lasts, well everything. I do wear others but if I had to choose one, this would be it. It is strong smelling,quite a 80's scent & people remember you when wearing it. I find it's much like when I wear Clinique Aromatics Elixir I get the same effect. It is quite harsh at first put then it mellows to a honey/vanilla/roses/spices. A beautiful, very long lasting scent. When you walk past someone wearing this, they will notice you.

I remember this fragrance from the 80's but never owned it until now. OMG! It's amazing! Bijan has so many notes that I absolutely love. Divine ylang ylang, honey, carnation, benzoin, and amber. It's sweet, rich, spicy, warm, and balsamic. Like a lot of 80's fragrances, this is a powerhouse. One or two spritzes and you're good to go. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of 80's fragrances or oriental florals. This is a fabulous scent that you can get for a super bargain price.

This scent is a love for me. A beautiful honeyed floral with a creamy amber and soft powder dry down. I have the vintage edp and the current edt . The edt is slightly harsher when first sprayed on but quickly settles down. The reformulation is pretty much spot on so I’m very happy to be able to easily buy this scent. The comparison to VS Rapture is true except Bijan was created first so actually Rapture smells like Bijan!

This to my nose is very similar to CHANEL #5 & COCO n for me it's better as it does not contain CIVET which on me smells like dead rat! Surprisingly BIJAN has the same multiple combo notes as #5 & COCO w a few variations that on me make it smoother, better! The longevity is over 10 hours n it has good sillage. I agree w HeidiLynn's comments! Love her description, suits it to a tee! Great alternative for those on a budget!

I bought Victoria secret "rapture" last week for 40 bucks.....I bought bijan today for 99cents. I sure wish I had known about bijan last week! They smell almost identical. ..except bijan seems slightly better! Love it! Update 5 hours later: I'm sorry, I was wrong. ..This is a lot better than rapture. If rapture and chanel no 5 had a baby....it would be named bijan... This is wonderful

Honey-soaked orange flower & ylang bomb with an unyielding woody resinous base. There's a distinctly peach effect that persists as well, though that note is not listed. Very sweet, warm, and all encompassing in its intensity. Major sillage, lasts for hours (12+). Perfect for cold weather, and those particularly cool spring mornings/evenings. Wonderful classic addition to a collection.

I love the Bijan aesthetic and the wacky ad copy that went along with it in the big 80's and 90's! I got my hands on a cute perfume necklace--a miniature bottle of pure perfume on a silk cord, which features more tiny bottle pendants knotted on the ends. I can't wait to review it! Update: Gorgeous chypriental, worth adding to my collection. Reminds me of Borghese. Compliment getter!

I recently acquired a current formulation of Bijan. I've been wearing it on cooler days (50F in FL). Applying this beautiful perfume on a cool, crisp morning brings me so much joy. The creamy, spicy, dense, yellow floral is so warm and cozy. I've never experienced the vintage but I get so much pleasure from the current that I am happy to just enjoy this. Yummy, warm sweater.

Flowers on steroids! Honey and all sorts of other sweetness galore! Powerful and long lasting! Oh so loud! Do I like it? Noooo - I LOVE IT!! This is a real dame perfume and probably one of the best blind-buys I have ever made! If you are into "larger-than-life" florals like Organza, Poeme, Poison then you might just fall in love with this beautiful beast as well.

This fragrance is everything the wonderful reviews on here said and more. It dries down to beautiful, well-balanced, balsam floral that lasts longer than most my other perfumes. I can't speak to the old version--I bought the newly formulated version in the "B" shaped bottle, and I just love it. It's less than $8 for the 1 oz bottle on Scent Monkey.

You are taken out to dinner by a well dressed man that is different to the guys you have dated in the past. It seems strange but you think this is the one for me and a life long love begins. If you are not one of the masses and you expect the best is yours for the taking put Bijan on your shelf and watch how you empty it quickly.

Bijan is an original. I don't think it smells like Rapture VS. Perhaps VS tried to copy it but failed. It's a wonderful blend of 170 oils that create this mysterious, middle east aroma leaving you feeling happy and sensual at the same time. Starts off balsamic and ends up smelling lactonic, creamy clean. A must for summer nights!

My wonderful and kind and beloved late mother wore this when I was little. I love this perfume obviously. It’s beautiful and to me motherly but not grandmotherly just as another reviewer said. Special place in my heart. I’m going to keep a bottle so I can spray it and feel warm and loved and happy remembering my dear mom.

Gorgeous vintage classic. My mom wore this in the late 80s so I had to get a bottle but I’m pretty obsessed with vintage perfumes so I would love this anyway. Like most of the era, strong start, complex and balanced. One note doesn’t stand out to me but it’s warm, bright, sophisticated and the dry down is magic.

Let me bathe in this. Gorgeous scent that smells both dated and modern at the same time. It smells like the younger, more fun sibling of Zoologist's Bee. It smells more mature than Zoologist's Hummingbird, which it's also very similar to. Bijan Bijan is perfect for almost any occasion. Might be my current fave.

"Bijan" has the headiest collection of notes of any perfume. Yet it is warm, golden, and comforting without the "I will not be ignored!" character of perfumes with similar notes. It's unpretentiousness makes it fun and sexy. A rare oriental: easy to wear. "Bijan" belongs in every perfume wardrobe.

As a guy I prefer this to the men's version. It reminds me a little of vintage Stetson for Men and it just flat out smells wonderful in the Fall/Winter. I highly recommend giving it a whirl, although I would add that on me this is a 2-3 sprays max scent, any more than that and it gets too sweet.

If you can believe it, I still have the original bottle gifted to me (by an ex-boyfriend's mother) from 1994. It's half full and I still adore it to this day. It's a MOOD scent perfect for crisp autumn nights and cold winter days. I am a fan of oriental floral/woods.
