Botanist

I went to a boutique South Korean perfume store called Liquides, and tested a range of what must have been 50+ scents which they took my shortlist of 5 to a beautiful bar. From there I chose this really great bottle which has been my go-to for the past year, I can wear it in any occasion and almost every weather, I love its deep earthy and fresh notes that make me think of a human sized fantasy terrarium. Big fan of B&B a brand I had never heard of until that awesome experienc overseas.

i feel the rating is skewed because of female users who find it to be too masculine. as a male it is a great fresh daily if looking for niche and wanting to avoid the common cool blue scents.

This reminds me of Baie19...in the best way. I love a patchouli note. It opens strong, but I've had it on all day and at 3pm - the dry down is a fresh musk. I love it.

I’m obsessed with this perfume. Obsessed. It smells like a beautiful forest the morning after an evening rain. Definitely a new favorite.

I get green apple and oak, does birch and oak maybe smell similar? However, very nice combination!

A clean, crisp, icy, masculine forest. Bitter, astringent vetiver and birch are the most forward on my skin. I'm definitely also getting a black tea scent, but unfortunately not as much of the apple as I wish. The patchouli is subdued in this one, thankfully. I would highly recommend this one for masc-leaning women. Very work-appropriate as well, it's more of a skinscent and very classy. An old-fashioned Japanese businessman in a British suit writing in a leatherbound journal on a train. It kind of has a similar vibe to Sauvage but more interesting.

This is my kind of green scent - dark and moody. I was surprised to see people describe it as too sharp because I don't get that at all. I find it quiet and subtle, a great everyday scent. It's harmonious, none of the notes are battling for dominance. Its freshness and subtlety makes it appropriate for any time of day or season, though probably not summer. I would recommend this to people who like forest scents.

Its box colour is very correct. It’s forest green, a bit dark. It smells like those fresh spicy ointments that warm your skin. Something medicinal. But also has forest vibes. Sits close to your skin, the longevity is moderate, something like 3-4 hours on very warm skin. Perfect for autumn, in my opinion. Good for winter. Nice option as an everyday perfume.

I loved this in the bottle and the first few times on the skin. On my skin, however, this is way too intense and on my last try, I had to wash it off after 5 minutes because I felt a headache rolling in. The longevity of this one is incredible. It's a very green, dark, earthy, moody scent that I believe would work throughout all seasons.

A very deep, dark, green fragrance. A damp, earthy patchouli that is freshened up by the apple and green notes. Nothing I have smelled before! It is just on the verge of being too masculine for me. The drydown brings it back to a unisex scent, but I can imagine my husband wearing this. I will try it out further

At first wear I didn't like it, but I tried it again and found it very refreshing on a hot summer day. The vitiver smell is the strongest one I get, stays with me all day.

Smeels like green apple and tea.

Botanist is the 3rd perfume I have tested from this brand. It is earthy and smoky, a deep and dark masculine perfume. However, it does not impress me much, as I find it very similar to many conventional perfumes featuring woody earthy notes. It opens with sweet sour fruity notes. Instead of green apple as listed here, I get more melon and red berry. To my disappointment, the opening lasts for only an instant. I would love it if that fruity opening could last longer, as it balances well with the calming woody notes which come up later. Green notes and tea are listed as middle notes. Instead of the vegetal scents I was expecting, which I logically associated with a botanical garden, I in fact get more bitter, medicinal herb-like scent, but not damp enough to resemble garden soil. My skin really amplifies the birch note, or more the birch tar note. It gets smoky and leathery, very masculine. it gives this deep and dark vibe, or depicts a calm sophisticated gentleman sitting on a leather couch. The drydown is unmistakably patchouli and vetiver. Earthy, smoky, bitter and woody. In general, it is a quite pleasant, easily wearable perfume for male. Very office friendly. Sillage and longevity are both fine. However, besides all those generic adjectives to describe the scent, "safe" is the word I give to this perfume.

Botanist feels like a slow sip of fruit-laced tea—warm, a little tannic, a little tart. The cassis adds that signature dark berry tang, rich and almost wine-like, but never too heavy. Then comes the patchouli, rather strongly, grounding it all with its earthy, slightly camphorous depth. It’s not the damp, forest-floor kind, nor the overly heady bohemian swirl—just a quiet, leafy presence, keeping the fruit from turning into syrup. Balanced, but not particularly gripping, especially when placed side-by-side with the brand's offerings. Like a well-made tea blend that you enjoy in the moment but don’t find yourself reaching for again.

A nap in the dewy garden. The opening is gorgeous: Vibrant tartness of cassis and apple, balanced with powdered patchouli and a pop of vetiver. The tea is just a hint, nicely balanced, as florals and freshness drift in. Surprisingly woody, gently damp with echoes of soil and herbs. But on my skin, the woods and patchouli dominate quickly, and this dips into smoky and leather territory minutes in. Reminds me a lot of Faroe, by Oligie.

This is a very green and juicy fragrance. It’s a great freshie without being citrusy. If you expect a walk-in-the-garden-floral scent you’ll be disappointed, this is more like having-a-cool-fruity-drink-in-a-moist-greenhouse type of scent. Leaning a bit masculine, but I don’t mind when the weather is warm. I like it a lot the days I’m in the right mood for that. Some days I find it a bit overwhelming though. Not a safe blind buy.

The discovery set from Björk and Berries is so incredible, I have to give them credit where it’s due! However, Botanist is probably my least favorite, as it’s pretty traditionally masculine, but that doesn’t mean it’s not unique! It just has that kind of typical cologne undertone. It’s green, fresh, and a little brooding. Like a sexy dark garden lol. I’d go crazy if my partner wore this!

I feel the best way to describe this perfume is expensive and cheap smelling at the same time. Yes i could find this scent in a candle at H&M home, but i could also find it in a Hermès perfume for men. Definitely leans masculine in the beginning and more unisex in the dry down. I would not wear this on a day to day basis as its a bit to woodsy for me, but i wouldn’t mind it on others.

It's green, but not the synthetic green —it's more like the scent of dense summer foliage, with a hint of apple to balance out the woodiness. If only the vetiver and apple were removed or replaced with other woody notes, it would be much better. After the top notes fade, the fizzy soda-like feeling gets stronger and stronger... sigh.

I find this to be almost immediately heavy and woody, without any of the freshness promised by the apple and green notes mentioned above. The base notes are interesting but definitely lean masculine.

Smells generic and purely masculine

Im not a 100 % I would wear this myself as a female but boy do I love this. Its a green scent for people who dont really like green scents. But you probably have to like fruity fresh meets earthy to appriciate this. Planning on getting this for my bf in either shower gel + lotion or perfume. Also love their never spring scent but I made my ex use their shampoo in that scent so its ruined.

Being from scandinavia, i thought I would love this since there is nothing better than the smell of spring nights. This however smells nothing like spring. It smells like a leather jacket, not in a good way. It made me naouseous and I had to wash it off.

this was the first full bottle of perfume I ever emptied. it was my signature. very green like leaves, not grass if that makes any sense. have never smelled anything like it.
