Dark Rain

This was actually one of the first fragrances I came to form a connection with when I first discovered Björk & Berries a few years ago, altough I enjoy every fragrance by them that I have encountered. I ended up getting both the roller version and the edp. I think the scent notes listed here are pretty accurate to my nose, so is the brand description. It really does remind me of that first day of autumn, or should I say the last days of summer? It's that time of the year when the leaves start to go yellow and the weather starts to become a bit cooler as the sun hides away. It's very comforting. I have seen that some people don't think it's quite as wet but more of a dry woody scent, but I have to disagree with that. The vetiver is very present, but so is the ginger and this is what creates that beautiful balance between wet and dry. The base notes are more dry and the top notes are certainly wet, portraying a picture of wet drops of rain on the ground after a dry summer. You know when you go outside early one morning and you smell the air and you instantly know that it's no longer summer? This perfume really does remind me of that. I always found Björk & Berries' concepts to be so pretty, and their fragrances too. They really capture the essence of Swedish nature in their scents. Since I mentioned I got both the perfume and the roller ball perfume oil I think it is only fair I compare them for those of you who only got (or plan to get) either. As you could expect the alcohol-based perfume is dryer, while the oil-based perfume better enhances the wet notes. I feel like the oil-based one gives you more of the top notes overall but especially tangerine, while the edp is stronger in the base notes (with more of the ginger standing out as top note). As far as androgyny goes, this fragrance does a good job. On my skin it smells perfectly unisex to me, while my sister keeps telling me it smells very masculine on me and she couldn't wear it personally. I think it is all depending on the nose, but to me it is definitely a scent both men, women and non binary people could pull off. If you like the rain you will like this fragrance. As it dries down it has this scent of someone coming home after having been outside, and I really enjoy that too. It's like a breath of fresh air. To wrap it up I wanna say this is an overall well thought out fragrance fit for anyone who would like to wear it. With notes of ginger, tangeringe, some distant florals, moss and wood, it is a very naturesque scent, but it is perfectly fit to wear in a big city too. I did say it reminds me of the rain as the name states and it really does. Rain on ashpalt, waiting for the bus to pick you up as you watch the cars pass you by, standing there with wet hair dripping water down your face. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but it is definitely mine.

The opening of this fabulous blend is as wacky as it's multi-dimensional, with gourmands and zesty top notes that blossom wildly. Yet it's unified with impressive elements--petals, powdery and cupcake reminiscent of baked strawberries smell surprisingly stuttering here. The quixotic balsamic elements are used in a very heartfelt way, too. — Lush, hyperbolic and unexpectedly seductive. The opening is as striking as it is bold: there are scents of cigar-box tobacco, zesty top notes that evolve into an intense floral sensation. It is a fragrance that layers down with an explosion of gourmands. It slowly dries down to a woody, sweet, and delicate scent that offers the most subtle, yet unforgettable fragrance. Feminine and versatile - this scent is perfect for day or night.

Smelled and bought it at the airport in Stockholm. Somehow, to me, it smells very Scandinavian. There's this nordic poshness in it. It's dry, white woody, reminds me of the time I walked back to my room from coldness and snow waiting for the whole body to warm up while I was in the Arctic Circle. The combination of amber and cedar makes the fragrance smell silvan and like whiteness with a brush of moss green colour. It's not a complicated scent. None of the notes stands of particularly. But with the integrated perfume, it makes people feel secure and comforted. A non-swanking unisex niche perfume with very reasonable price.

Very nice. Clean, yet exiting. Woody soap or soapy wood. In the best way possible. I loved the soap version of it even more than the EDP.

It’s a lovely scent, warm and cozy but but is compeletely masculine.

To me this is very unique and high quality, but it also it reminds me of something I've felt in very expensive woody, mossy amber perfumes. This is indeed reminiscent of a Swedish forest in the fall, with dry decaying leaves, but there is nothing cool or wet about this, so it's not a rainy forest. I feel it's warming, comforting almost a bit animalic and also sweet. Björk and Berries means birch and (duh) berries, and it seems birch is used in all of their perfumes, creating a signature you can recognize in all three of them. This one is wonderfully unisex.

Tried the roller ball version of this. I definitely get the autumn in this, the ginger gives it a spicy touch with the opening, supported by cedar and amber that become more prominent with the dry down. More leaning towards masculine woody notes imo. Unfortunately it’s almost gone within an hour. Will update if I find an EDT tester.

This is my least fave by this brand.. it is supposed to have witch hazel in it, which I absolutely love the scent of but I really can’t detect it here. For me this scent is mostly amber and ambergris, ambergris especially in the dry down on my skin anyway..

Update: tried this again more heavily and now I can smell the witch hazel as well as the amber and it’s heavenly. It really is like autumn rain and turning leaves
