Faluröd

When I step into the Swedish countryside (I’m from Bulgaria), I always enter a fairy tale that someone told me as a child. Everything is so real and at the same time unreal – the wooden houses, arranged side by side, dressed in the same deep red color that also preserves the warmth of the centuries. Their construction is simple and Scandinavian, and the landscape around them is like a living canvas – water, forests and sky, in which the eyes and the soul find peace. There is something about this nature that acts as the most perfect grounding exercise. When you are anxious, when your mind wanders, you go there – and peace comes effortlessly. I, who have always been slightly afraid of nature – of insects, of stormy phenomena, of its harshness... but there I feel embraced by its beauty. Not as a guest, but as a part of it itself. This is exactly the feeling I find in Faluröd by Björk & Berries. I feel so close to this brand – I love how they capture the spirit of Sweden and turn it into a fragrance, painting landscapes, traditions, a little quirkiness with scents. Faluröd is dedicated to that red, iron oxide pigment that envelops Swedish houses and symbolizes warmth, earthiness and cultural memory. When I inhale this perfume, I always enter that home – the red house in the forest. It smells like Christmas. It opens with spices and transitions into a beautiful, dimly lit incense. After it unfolds into a woody, spicy base, warm and cozy, like candlelight on a winter night. There is something at the beginning that reminds me of Byredo’s Eyes Closed – but Faluröd quickly takes its own path: woodier, more incensey, deeper. I know it won’t be a perfume for everyone. It’s too niche, too personal to become a mass favorite. But that’s the beauty of it – it’s a fragrance for people who don’t just want a nice scent, they want a story. For me, Faluröd is like a door – to the fairy tale, to the little red house, to grounding. And every time I put it on, I’ll go back there.

Fell in love with this at Dover Street Parfums in Paris. Smells like cigarettes, smoke, and cologne with a cool breeze running through it. Expensive, but I appreciate the artistry. Had to get a bottle. The longevity is insane.

to me this smells like a winter evening in december. a thin layer of soft, powdery snow on the ground. a crackling fireplace. a cup of hot cocoa with peppermint. probably a top five fragrance for me!!

This smells so much like the Christmas potpourri my mother used to buy from pottery barn in the 90s. I’m in love.

A very warm scent, something about it screams Christmas in my book. On me the opening has a lot of metallics, depending on the day it can get a little nauseating, sort of reminding me of the smell of blood. When it dries down you get a warm woody and on me sweet scent, the kind of dark sweetness of ripe fruit, raisins etc. The note black pepper isn't prominent on me at all, this is a very round scent without any sharp notes. Performance is good, nothing beast mode but will definitely last you throughout the day. Because of the heaviness I would say this is more of a fall/winter scent. Nothing that I would go for on a daily basis but still a nice and warm scent.

This perfectly captures that one smell of a person who just smoked a cigarette. Happy I tested it on a blotter and not on my skin...

At first when I smells this I thought to myself “many people may not like this, but there’s just something about it that I love.” To me this is like a nice cold morning and I’m making a gingerbread house. This is a warm, amber, soft pepper, and vanilla type of fragrance. I noticed there is a metallic note and to me it’s a very like imaginable smell of oxidized iron to me, but in a good clean way. This scent sits very well on my skin and has a mild longevity. I give this a 9/10 would be amazing during the colder times.

I had such a visceral reaction to this fragrance. I smelled this one time on paper and my eyes watered with happiness. It’s so pillowy, familiar, warm with a subtle spice. This is like the essence of a hug from someone you look up to. This is not mass-appealing or trendy, some may even say elderly or paternal. I’ll update once ok skin.
