I truly adore this scent , it has been on my radar for a wild but i never got a chance to test or grabb it. but finaly its mine , And wow this is just ME.. It starts up a bit masculine , just slightly, there is a sweetnes in the opening and thrue out the scent that realy makes my heart beat faster, the birch and pine mixes so well with slightly sweet rhubarb ,citrus and Tonka . the scent feels so familyer to me , but i can not for the life of me guess what it can be . It most sertenly is not a walk in the Nordic forest with birch ,violets and lily of the valleys . this isent that kind of natural scent realy , A fairytale and a dream like scent perhaps , but only in your mind , the nature it self is not captured in this scent, A big + for this scent is that it lasts along time to at least on my skin , still going strong after 7 hours . closer to skin but still notisable . Love love love this . realy want to test more from this line now .

I used to just read the comments from other people about different perfumes here. However, today I decided to create an account on fragrantica because of this perfume!!!!! Why? Yesterday I and my husband were about to go out and I was like, hmm let me wear some perfume. I sprayed this perfume on me in our sleeping room and my husband was in the living room and then he happened to pass by the sleeping room and all of a sudden, he asked me “ why does it smell like a scandinavian countryside here?” I was sooooooooo surprised as he is a man who has absolutely no idea about perfume! It reminds him of the time when he was biking in scandinavian forest! I let him smell my wrist and asked him what it smells like? He said it smells like birch!!! This is very unusual because he usually just can describe a perfume using one of these 3 words: bad / sweet / floral! I think this perfume is very successful in creating a sense of scandinavian forest! I loooooooove this perfume! It reminds me of a winter forest where the trees are covered by snow but at the same time it is super cozy and feels like cotton! I love it so much that I even got myself the hand cream, wash gel and body lotion from it!!! Love love love! I would say it also smells 90% like Byredo Bal d’ afrique but it starts a bit more “piney” because of the pine tree note here which makes this perfume a bit colder!!! Love it!!!!! Edit: OK, I own these two perfumes (Bal d afrique and White Forest), after wearing both of them for almost half a year, i need to correct myself, they don’t smell similar to me anymore. I really like Bal d afrique and I started to dislike white forest now! Very weird!!!!

Very nice perfume, but definitely a niche product. I don't recommend blind-buying. I always like to go off about the vibes perfumes give me so I'm going to start rambling about it here, maybe someone will find it helpful. This scent to me smells exactly like christmas - not in a warm spicy way, rather in a frosty clean way. This scent just reminds me of the colour white. Being a northern European, it reminds me of a cold winter holiday morning, walking under snow covered spruce trees with the sun shining in your eyes. The smell is very Scandinavian. I would say it is a day perfume, but I actually wouldn't hesitate to wear this to a quiet evening event either. For some reasons perfumes never seem to last on me, but this one - I could spray it once in the morning and I would still be able to smell it at midnight. And I mean that in a not-headache-inducing way. It's one of my most complimented scents, everyone seems to think it smells nostalgic and clean. And it's the only scent that people have said they immediately associate with me. While I personally think it does lean on the more feminine side, any gender can wonderfully pull it off. I would also like to think that any age group can make this scent work. Just wow - an all time favorite, only good things to say about this.

JAAAAA! Finally this is in the database - and FINALLY this has been launched as an EdP! Oh, how I have yearned for thee. My life is now complete. I have owned this fragrance in almost every product available; All from handsoap to dry oil. There is always something "White Forest" scented in my home. Always. And, even if I DO really like the perfume-oil, I really prefer the (organic) alcohol based spray. Covers more area, hähä. But to the fragrance itself. This is like walking in a Swedish enchanted forest, in a real "trollskog". If you are not familiar with the illustrator John Bauer, Google his works and you will be set in the right mood for this perfume. It smells like crisp forest air, wood and pine. And citrus, but citrus in like biting in to one of those pinesprouts or wood sorrel. It has a sort of fresh, "taking a deep breath" vibe going on, but over all it is actually quite a sad, melancholic fragrance. Not a "lemon/pine" barbershop fragrance, it is.. something else. Really unique! And HIGHLY addictive. Oh, and learning today that the creator of this has also done some of Byredos best scents was not at all surprising.

I have tested 4 perfumes from this brand, and White Forest is so far my favorite. I enjoy the simple and clean woody smell and this cozy and comforting vibe it generates. To me this is like Scandinavian forest in a bottle. It starts off with a mixture of citrus and red berries, tart and sweet, juicy and fresh. Soon it gets aromatic and musky. By aromatic I am referring more to the typical pleasant woody smell from evergreen trees. Next to it I get the clean laundry-like musk. After a while, powdery floral notes join the party, which enhances the clean laundry smell. The scent resembles a soap bar. To be more specific, it reminds me of the original Safeguard or Dove soap bar. At a later stage, it gets more and more woody, and even slightly smoky. You can easily recognize the cedar and pine in the drydown. It brings a soothing and calm vibe. The longevity is good. It lasts easily for a day. The sillage is fine, leaning to the weak side, but I actually appreciate it that it gets somewhat intimate.

A surprisingly wonderful fragrance for it coming from a luxury skincare brand! It is also, funnily enough, my go-to scent at the moment. To me, it smells like sugared pine, lemon zest, creamy woods with tonka and an amazing aromatic spicyness that interestingly enough reminds me of gingerbread cookies. It’s a very welcoming, easy and mild fragrance that works wonders when you simply want to smell clean, pleasant and inviting. I can’t really say that it’s a hands down duplicate of Bal D’Afrique, but they are definitely sisters. The only downside of White Forest is that it doesn’t last long — for me, it stays for only a couple of hours. I have both the lotion and the fragrance oil, so it lasts a bit longer, but you shouldn’t have to buy the scent in multiple expensive formats for it to actually last.

This is my favorite in the discovery set. It is so fresh yet has this round warmth to it as well. It is so perfect for spring! I wore the last bit of the tester yesterday (I’m buying the full size as soon as I can, but they’re sold out right now) and I, legit, got a woman in the grocery store point towards me in line and say, “SOMEONE smells AMAZING!” I thanked her and told her I was sampling some and this one was my favorite. She insisted I tell her the name of it. I’m quite the introvert, so it makes me uncomfortable, but I love to get a compliment on my scent. I’ve only ever been complimented on this and r!ddle original. Definitely signature worthy.

At first I got a pine tree kind of vibe like other people do. But lately I've noticed the citrus in it, it's not overbearing and very nice with a slight sweetness to it that still feels very fresh and clean. It's quite addicting and makes you either think of a crispy snowy day or when the first sun comes after winter. I do understand it smells unisex but leans a bit feminine for me. Very versatile use, you can go to meetings with this but you could also have this on like a hike trip.

Mmm this is a really well done lemon, nothing like cleaner. It's slightly sweet like lemon candy but mostly a fresh and green scent. Perfectly unisex. Lemon, tonka, violet, and birch dominant on my skin. Just really, really well blended, I love it. I am also definitely getting the 'cotton' and 'milky' vibes that others mentioned. Definitely a office-safe, classy scent. I can definitely see myself going back for the body lotion of this.

White forest is a safe blind buy, 100% true to its pyramide and office friendly with a decent longevity. I love the refreshing casis leaf opening gently transforming into slightly milky(tonka bean) birch sap with a little bit of woodiness to it, just a tad spicy. Soft and intimate companion that feels luxurious and private. Touch and feel of the bottle is on par with the juice inside: sophisticated, minimalistic and hard to let go.

Literally the winter sister to bal d’Afrique. They are different enough that it’s justifiable to own them both and I do for both halves of the year. White Forest opens bright and strong with the pine note, light streaming through fir trees. But then it turns slightly powdery like sparkling snow, a little masculine, and it’s just so addictive. It smells incredible in brisk winter air

I love this almost agressively :D wow! This is such a pleasant surprise! Good Job Bjork and Berries, again a FB worthy fragrance! The sweet lemon combined with the pine and just a touch of floral notes makes this a great all-year round unisex freshie that you should definitely try. If you like Bal d'Afrique check this one out, it might be even more to your liking!

this scent is the PERFECT clean/fresh/aromatic/woody for all year round! there's a bright citrus, followed by an evergreen type of pine needle scent, and a resinous woody base with some tonka and cedar. truly etheral wood nymph vibes, the lotion would really hit because to me this does smell like something that would be at a sauna in some remote mountain town.

This really smell like Bal d'Afrique from Byredo. That being said, I think Bal is a bit more sour in the opening, the citrus there really takes the centre stage... But for the next development I prefer White Forest than Bal, it has more character, albeit the scent is very close to the skin. It's a moderate performance perfume, Bal's longevity is better though.

I was lucky to catch one of the last perfume oils from a webshop in Norway. It is a very unique and wonderful smell. White, crispy, cold and fresh with a hint of sweetness... It is absolutely great. Now I try to find samples or decants of the other two perfumes (Dark Rain and Never Spring) and I'm looking forward to hear something about the White Jasmine.

This perfume may be a distant cousin to Byredo’s Bal d’Afrique. The vetiver is very prominent, which might make it a bit more masculine-leaning to some people. It’s also way more spicy and less citrusy in my opinion. Even though there aren’t any cardamom notes listed that is what I smell. If you want to smell like a danish christmas, this is it! :-)

This, Violet Sky and Vanilla Veil are my 3 favs from Bjork. White Forest is the cleanest, smoothest fragrance. What I love most is the dry-down. It's so soft and clean. I cannot stand when perfumers make a sharp, screechy dry down to appease the "I need it to last forever" crowd. NO sharpness here. Just ethereal beauty. Well done!

It’s a really musky, nuzzly, clean white scent. It’s beautiful and seems to wrap around like a mist. On my skin I can really smell the pine and cedar but it’s a soft sillage.. on clothes the musk is stronger but still beautiful and fresh. I love it iT dries down to a softly sweet milkyness and lasts a moderately long time on skin

The initial hit of sweet mandarin citrus fades into a gorgeous fruity, woody fragrance. It reminds me of Lush’s “Comforter” bubble bar, with a distinctive Ribena note, but the cedar / pine base adds a masculine edge. An interesting unisex option!

I bought the perfume oil. It's an amazingly wonderful scent! Fresh green forest, citrus and a pinch of spices 💙 It lasts surprisingly long on the skin. I'll definitely buy the perfume! Signature scent - did I just find you?

Unbelievably good 😍 smells like walking through a crisp, snowy forest & can easily be worn all year round

This does kinda smell like Bal d'Afrique because of a similar vetiver, but there are a few clear differences. Bal d'Afrique opens more bright and a bit more sour with the citrus notes, but at the same time has a slight 'creamy' feel to it, a bit reminiscent of vanilla. (I have the body lotion too and I just associate the creamy feel with it now because it fits so well.) The perfume itself later dries down to a a clean vetiver. White Forest is more linear overall. The lemon note is clear in the opening but only for a brief moment. It then becomes more subtle and the rest stays the same in the dry-down. I do like this scent overall. It's fresh, green, a bit woody and kinda sweet at the same time. It also has sort of a 'cozy' factor for sure. I feel cozy and peaceful wearing this. I think White Forest can definitely be unisex and works great as an everyday scent. It's easy to wear, inoffensive but also a unique scent!

In winter still. A stunning opening. The citrus, the lemon, the currant...beautifully done. More citrusy than I was expecting! Lovely cedar and fruits. Dries down to something a little more decidedly forest; earthier and leathery and powdery, but still delicate. The tonka bean and florals round this into sweet whispers of winter. One of the better pine/woods citruses I've experienced. A touch more aftershave; in a good way. Perfectly unisex. Lightly powdery, capturing that fresh snow magic and never too musky. Refined, graceful. Stays softly bright and very clean. Almost...evergreen clean laundry. A touch heavier, but I like this. The drydown reminds me of PHLUR's long lost Greylocke.

A nice inoffensive perfume for daily use. It opens so deliciously fresh, with a sweet citrus and some spices. After an hour or so, the wood notes begin to show - vetiver is clear here, but not a strong one. In particular, there's a specific smoky wood I can't associate to anything I know but I assume to be birch. Throughout the day the notes kept changing in a nice way, sometimes more sweet, other times more fresh, but always with the soft vetiver in the background. All in all I liked it a lot, especially given how long it lasts - I could still feel it 8h later, after just a couple of sprays.

It is a nice, office-safe but not-a-big-deal scent. I live in Scandinavia and that is why I know our forests don ́t smell like this. :D Ok, I get the concept: birch, violet, pine, Lily-of-the-valley..., yes, we have all this out there in the woods, yet the smell of the forest is not like these ingredients having put together. Maybe some gardens, near to the woods, right after dawn... Yes... we can say. Maybe. A glimpse of dawn in Spring when the weather is not so wet. But if you want to know what the Swedish woods smell like, you have to try: The Devils Nightcap by Lush. That ́s the one!

January 12th, 2023 This is an update after my not-so-loving review from June 2021🤭 I blind-purchased this fragrance and sadly, it was not love at first sniff, it was ‘headache’ at first sniff...howeverrrrrr... instead of getting rid of it, I let it sleep in my parfum cupboard for a year and a half. Today I decided to try it again, a generous spray on my wrist... and I have to say: I am pleasantly surprised!!. No headache at all. It is a unique fragrance, crisp, fresh yet mysterious. Citrusy-woodsy... I’ll give it another try 🌟

To my nose, this fragrance is essentially the twin spouse of Bal d’Afrique: just with a touch more citrus and a slightly fresher character. I wore them side by side and could hardly tell them apart. The longevity of Bal d’Afrique is a bit stronger, while this one leans fresher, a little more natural smelling and a bit less sweet. But overall, they are almost one to one comparable. If you enjoy Bal d’Afrique, you will feel right at home with this scent.

I blind bought this fragrance. Initially I did not like it at all, it kind of smelled like mustard and left it in the box for a while. I recently tried it again, and I’m still not too crazy about it. The bergamot is very heavy and the performance is weak. But the other notes of this perfume I like a lot! I’m currently into woody fragrances and I love the birch and cedar notes. I don’t think I’ll repurchase this, but it’s pleasant and calm

A long sweet lemony opening, with black currant herb tea, and then birch bark. The pine needles develop an hour later, woodsy green but sugary, the way a forest smells after snow. Lasts the morning on the wrist, and on the cuffs all day. It's swanky, in an understated way--clean projection but mouth watering up close--and makes me look forward to winter.

This is very likable! Heads down, one of the best ones out of this company. For me, it was sweet but not overly sweet, more on the fresh, woody side. I wrote down that it is laconic, but honestly, I think it is just the white flower and the woody notes in it that make it seem that way. It gave me a soapy freshness as well. A strong 8/10 unique blend.

this is nice. the lemon is light, adds some dimension. very pretty tonka bean that does not sit to heavy. this is like, cold pines to me. lovely, pairs well with a vanilla lotion. longevity is rough (2-3 hrs on skin) but quite a pretty scent

very aromatic and bright. I do think it leans a little bit to the bug spray side so I would layer it to round it out. reminds me of Chloe cedrus but with a burst of citrus, definitely not bad!

For me this smells like Christmas! Very wintery smell with some spiciness. I love it, but wouldn't wear it - would prefer this as a candle.

Got a tester of this perfume after hearing that it smells like a pine forest. I don’t feel it - it opens with a sweet sugary citrus and very promptly switches to a slightly woody and powdery violet. On me it doesn’t smell like a forest, it smells like dried wood and oldschool makeup - maybe a cabin in the woods at best. It gets more fresh with time with a hint of pine but still has that dry powdery note. It feels like it could do better in colder weather - but still it smells more like a comforting inside, than a full on camping adventure.

Got this because i heard it was similar to Bal d'Afrique from Byredo - and somewhat cheaper too. I ended up being very disappointed by this fragrance, as it is less of a woody aromatic citrus (like Bal d'Afrique) and much more fruity. You can definitely tell that they have the same dna, but the cassis in White Forest is very overpowering, and the woody notes are nowhere to be found. It is not bad but its not really what i wanted from this fragrance either.

On paper it smelt like festive lemon soap with spices so I was excited to try it on my skin. The opening is very heavy on the bergamot & black currant and I'm not too sure I like the combination, it was a bit vomit inducing. The dry down, however, is very nice and warm. It smells exactly like Glossier You. The longevity was great on me, I sprayed it on around midday and it was still there at the end of the day.

Something about the combination of notes in the dry down just smells like pure chamomile to me. And I really do not like the smell of chamomile. I wonder if it’s just me because my husband didn’t pick up on it at all, but it makes me feel nauseous. Just a cloying, ripe, oversteeped chamomile tea. Not a fan.

Sweet, it can’t really be considered a woody scent—not much woodiness at all... It somewhat resembles those berry-scented home fragrances.

I got this VEGAN perfume as a sample vial from Björk and Berries. Awesome customer service! First impression: Opening is sweet cassis to my nose, with a touch of Bergamot. Nice! It's fresh but mostly floral with an aquatic, etherial vibe. Beautiful! The drydown on my skin is soapy fruity Floral. I don't get much of the listed notes in the drydown, no tonka sadly, a liiiiitle cedar, a hint of vetiver. This, to my nose is a soapy fragrance that deserves some attention. I Prefer the opening and Middle because the drydown is too soapy for what I'm looking for but that doesn't mean it is bad. Far from it! It does become a skinscent quite fast, after 3 to 4 hours but I'm not that into powerhouses and like to change frags 2 to 3 times a day so not sad about that. 😉 Is it worth the money? Well, it's beautiful, it's vegan(!) so no animal cruelty and it's niche so not generic by any means. Yes, i think it's worth it. If you wear this, you will wear something most won't even know (yet). Totally unisex but leans more feminine to my nose. 😉 Edit: have both frags (BD and WF) side by side: This get's compared to bal d'afrique but bal d'afrique is more Creamy, and has stronger veviter in the drydown. In any case, bal is more unisex and W F is more fruity Floral. While I initially wrote they are different, I stand corrected. They do share a LOT of similarities. WF is sweeter and more feminine. I Prefer Bal because of the veviter but if you like Bal d'afrique but could do without the more prominent woody, slightly masculine notes (ever so slightly, it is very unisex) White forest is your frag. White Forrest is an excellent dupe I must say. The best found so far. 90 percent similar! Girls, if you are looking for a B D'afrique dupe but more feminine, this is it. Did I mention it is cruelty free? 🤪 Performance wise Bal wins but also wins in the category overpriced as f.... Well...🤷 (Still an awesome designer fragrance i might add)

White Forest is exactly what it promises, with brisk, coniferous air and citrus gleam, as if sunlight has danced over and serenaded pine needles, as if you're taking your first step into a Scandinavian woodland where the trees whisper in sharp, resinous sighs. Yet there’s too an unexpected softness, a sweetness curling through the cold. The citrus isn’t just an afterthought It's integral, preventing the coniferous notes from becoming too dense, too brooding. And—this is surprising, even to me—I don’t mind it. As someone with a pretty stubborn dislike coniferous scents, I'm surprised at this scent's perfect balance between wild and polished. This isn’t my favorite from them, but it has a certain stark beauty, a clean wilderness that lingers just enough to feel nostalgic, like a fleeting memory of frost-laced branches and golden winter light.

I like this a lot more as it dries down. Lemon is extremely hard to pull off without going into "cleaning product" territory, and I was afraid I would hate this based on that initial impression at the top. However, this gives way for an aromatic and coniferous scent profile headlined by pine (the star of this scent imo) and soft woods. It's an invigorating scent and hearing Scandi reviewers liken it to the smell of the region's wintertime makes me really eager to visit and experience this unique atmosphere. Personally speaking, the scent is not drawing me in so immediately. I almost wish they had done without the citrus aspects which cheapen it a bit.

completely unisex, fresh, lemony woods with a rounded dry down. I can see this becoming a favorite in the summer time. There is a chemically plastic-like note in the opening that is so strong it makes it unpleasant. If I were to say an analogy, it's like lemon scented whiteboard markers. Unfortunately, I don't get white forest and that's exactly what I want to smell like. Like northern forest winter. This smells like fresh, sharp citrus and dries down to rounded woods. The dry down is such a dream! I wish that opening was tolerable. Not necessarily reminiscent of the very cold winter weather of the north.

This perfume is to me pine, petitgrain and lemon (or cypress), but also very sweet to make it more fruity than fresh or green. A delight to wear, and yes it's wearable enough yet unique and memorable. This brand from my country has caught my attention, which is not that easy, and I think their quality is consistent in all their scents. Björk and Berries means birch and (duh) berries, and it seems birch is used in all of their perfumes, creating a signature you can recognize in all three of them. This one is definitely feminine.

Reminds me of Find Comfort by Rare Beauty without the probably mix of jasmine and cashmere wood that Fragrantica says smells like a type of tea Here are the actual notes of this fragrance according to this brand's website: "This fragrance captures the essence of nature with a composition that includes black currant, lemon, violet, and lily of the valley. Earthy vetiver and powdery-sweet tonka beans complete the scent, evoking the soul of the Swedish woods."

I love this. Rather mandarin (i recognised mandarin in other b&b parfumes where lemon is mentioned), also i feel cinnamon and cloves - potentially memory kicks in. What I love is that this parfume represent (to me) a wintery cold but silent, peaceful pineforedt outside as well as the nostalgic, overheated christmas cabin inside, with the smell of christmas preparations.. nice evolution, mild sillage... a nice, friendly, still unique fragrance

Fascinating mix of citrus and spices. It is as if you took a vessel of natural, unsweetened lemonade with fresh lemon slices, and mixed in dried spices. Now and then I get distinct whiffs of the vetiver and tonka, which together provide a very warm and comforting spiciness. I definitely see how other reviewers smell gingerbread, though I would say the smell is more complex than that so don't be scared off if you aren't a fan of gourmands.

"je bent me er wel een." zegt hij dan. nou, dat is precies wat ik ook zou zeggen. hij is misschien wat vrouwelijk (denk aan: vrouwen schoenen, pretty damn nauwe jeans, gekke moeder) maar man o man hij is heerlijk. voor verschillende occasions kan hij perfect zijn(chips in neus, bestraalde glijbaan, het vieze bed, belletje lel). Kortom, een unieke vent maar wel een perfecte.

Sí se parece a Bal d'Afrique pero se siente más fría, verde, no tan floral en comparación, muy cítrica en la salida. Al pasar horas se nota más la grosella, vetiver y las flores, me parece muy interesante y única. Iba a ser mi fragancia favorita pero es que no dura casi nada para el precio que tiene y la madera apenas se percibe.

It opens up with sharp fruit and pine, very fruity and fresh. I didn't get the middle notes at all, it went straight to more pine and vetiver, keeping a lot of the lemon zing. It strongly reminded me of Bal d'Adfrique, it's like a fruitier, more sour cousin without cream. They have the same vibe.

i hate cassis but i love this. It just the right amount of fruity in the sense that it feels like walking through a forest with fruit trees. Fresh but not juicy. There is an underlying sweetness to it on my skin that sets it apart from other pine forest fragrances. it just smells invigorating
