Blood Kiss

This is a review that I typed as I experienced one thing to the next. A 'live blog' of the scent, of sorts. When I first apply this, I can smell the vetiver, something a little herbaceous but also sweet in an odd way... a teeny bit of the vanilla now. And also the wine, oh wow. It really does smell sort of dangerous yet attractive... like a vampire! Fifteen minutes later, the cherry pops out and the vanilla is a little more noticeable. Gah I love this one. Hooray, after half an hour I can catch some of the clove! And an hour later now the cherry has died down a bit on my wrists and it's all about the vetiver and spices. The cherry/wine is still noticeable on my neck, however. ...And now, four hours in, it's pretty much spiced wood. Somewhat of an incense-like note! And still quite noticeable, too. Subtle and discreet, this ain't (but it isn't obnoxious or over the top either).

I adore BPAL scents, and of the ones I've tried, this is infinitely my favorite. It does have the typical drawbacks of BPAL: the sillage is not the best, its rather weak. But I like to layer them with other scents, so I don't mind. The longevity on this scent is fantastic on me, lasts at least 7 hours. In the bottle its a very sharp scent- I don't actually like the scent in the bottle. But once its on my skin I'm obsessed- it starts very fresh for me, I get the honey notes and some cherry. It mellows after several hours into a deep, *incredibly* melty warm scent. I definitely get the wine and poppy. 10/10 my fave BPAL scent.

notevolissimo e complesso questo olio vampiresco, per colore e per nome, è sinora il mio preferito tra la roba sniffata prodotta da BPAL. le note iniziali sono di vetiver erboso, umido e un tantino ferale, maschile e gotico. basta un momento: subito seguono sentori di vino rosso e vaniglia, con miele. poi ancora spunta la ciligia che, quasi nascondendosi, ricompare a intermittenza alternandosi con chiodi di garofano. l'assestamento è di muschio rosso, misto ad una sensazione di legno speziato. nonostante il tripudio di note che si avvicendano, rimane un profumo discreto e non invasivo. ottimo!

This was one of my first perfume oil purchases from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. It has since been one of my favorites. The lab's description of it is perfection. It is truly lush and creamy and I pick up the cherry, vetiver, red wine, clove, and feral musk. I'm not sure if I can really detect the poppy, but it does not matter to me. I adore this perfume <3 It has moderate lasting power and moderate to low throw. I get lots of compliments when I wear this.

Beautiful warm, dark scent. It starts off heavy on the cherry, softening into a clove dominant, incense-y type of fragrance on my skin. If you heat up the scent (I wore it while doing my usual walk around the park), the vanilla will come out and really shine. While this is my first scent from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab it definitely won't be my last! This scent is really wonderful and one I would recommend.

I ordered several BPAL fragrances with similar fruit/wine/vanilla notes and this one was my favourite. It smells like spiced cherry wine but the vetiver keeps it from being too saccharine. Don't always love floral notes but the poppy is only just present enough that it's a pleasant addition.

One of my all time favorite scents. I love the brand as it is, but this is a truly unique scent! When first applied it's an intense cherry on my skin, then it dries down and you get a sort of almond scent with a hint of vanilla. A very sexy cherry pie scent.

LOVE this scent. Sensual and deep. The cherry hits hard and fast, and then the scent mellows to lush vanilla and clove.

Very pretty scent! A little sweet and fruity, a little musky, with a hint of something floral (I have no clue what poppies smell like, but I assume that's the note I'm picking up) and a touch of incense, maybe. I was sort of surprised there was no metallic note given the theme. This takes on a more perfumey vibe the longer it is on my skin, but its very pleasant. Sits close, but seems to last 4+ hours. The fruity notes seem to fade in the first 30 min. Honey and musk seem to be the final standing notes. Would recommend to people who like sweet scents, musk, and maybe powdery/incense.

I have an 'Imp' of this (tester vile) It's lovely, and I will use up the tester, but I don't think I'll buy a full bottle of it. This is a very grown-up badass fragrance while maintaining a very sweet smell. It lives up to it's name! A very gothic vampiric opulent smell, that changes a lot as it's worn. Kinda sharp at first but then it goes smooth. I could totally see this being somebody's favorite, but it isn't my favorite. Like- If this is your favorite we could totally be friends.

My skin ate up the cherry and vanilla immediately, which was a little sad to me because I like fruit smells. But, the wine, honey, and clove are amped, and they're delicious, especially the honey. It's sort of sexy, very spicy, on me, at least. Makes me feel like Little Miss Scare-All.

Deep, sweet, and red. The darkness here, the vetiver, actually works to keep the sweetness balanced. Great scent - use it when you're feeling dark and mysterious, and maybe layer with an incense-type scent!

I've tried 4 or 5 fragrance oils from this brand, and so far this is the only one I even halfway like... still don't think it's quite my style but I can appreciate it for being interesting and unique. I'm definitely getting vetiver and sweet red wine. I don't specifically smell cherry, but can feel the juicy sweetness of it somehow. Something about it feels a little retro too, like something you would have smelled on a goth girl in the 90s. Gets better as it dries down, but it's still missing a little something. I might hold onto my sample and try it out again in the winter.

This is okay. There's something acidic (maybe the wine?) that's making me not like it that much. The drydown is better. I do get the cherry and honey, but they're not strong enough to overpower the wine.

LAB'S DESCRIPTION "Lush, creamy vanilla and the honey of the sweetest kiss smeared with the vital throb of husky clove, swollen red cherries, but darkened with the vampiric sensuality of vetiver, soporific poppy and blood red wine, and a skin-light pulse of feral musk." Hmm...this one grew on me after about 5 attempts! At first I went like this It's the Red Wine note that makes me turn my nose up. It does die down though and explodes into a GORRRRRGEOUS blend indeed! The more I smell it the more it reminds me of one of my favourite BPALs ever. "Sed Non Satiata". It must be the musk/honey similarity, it's thick, lucsious really strong and I've had 2 compliments already today! It's definately got that nutty undertone that SNS has. And I'm thankful that none of the booze is apparent in the dryer stages. If you want something very sexy and musky! Try this. WINNER!

My search for the perfect vampiric perfume started and ended with Blood Kiss... cherry definitely stands out on my skin but it blends sooo deliciously with the wine and ‘husky clove’, kind of incensey on me. The vanilla isn’t there as much as I’d like it, but I do smell it on the dry down. I love it. Got my boyfriend to give me his opinion and he noticed the cherry, and also said ‘vampire’

I loved this mainly because of the musk dry down. It's dark red cherries,wine,a touch of clove and musk. The musk is unlike any musk I have smelled before. It is light, clean and just wonderful. I don't know how to describe besides lightening and pure awesome.

This is very similar to Givenchy Ange ou Demon. There's a beautiful crystalline musk plus cherries, wine & vanilla powder sweetness. It's truly beautiful, dark and the musk is just amazing.
