Dana O'Shee

A beautiful, soft honeyed almond, wears very close and is fleeting on my skin. I wish this was available in a stronger version. The closest perfume I can compare it to is L'Artisan Jour De Fete. It isn't as sweet or candied as JDF, but they have the same soft vibe of sugared almonds. Both become skin scents on me. I couldn't disagree more with the comparisons to Snowcake. That is a screechy mess on me, full of black currant sharpness. I get zero almond from it. I know other people smell very strong marzipan in Snowcake, I'm just not one of them. So if you hate Snowcake as much as I do, don't let those comparisons deter you from Dana. She is a soft and delicate almond, nothing bitter or sharp, all round edges. Has some light play-doh notes at times, but I'm a fan of play-doh type almonds.

This is such a lovely scent! It's so similar to Lush's "Snowcake" minus, maybe, the benzoin? Just fine with that, because after a while "Snowcake" gave me a headache. This still has that powdery, sweet cinnamon gourmand going on. Smells just like Lush, but no headaches! The only downside, the sillage of this is not very far reaching. I plan to combat that with layering. Can't wait to pair this with the Lush "Snow Angel" bath melts and "Snowcake" soaps I have left over from the Christmas sale. Someone's gonna smell fierce. And it's me.

This is wooaah! screechy at first sniff in the vial, but seconds after it is on my skin it turns into yumminess. Almondy and soft, with hints of honey and milk but not cloyingly sweet at all. The staying power is almost reduced to nothing so its a shame... although, after a few hours if someone kisses my skin they can tell there is something sweet and delicious they can't describe about it. Very much a "want to eat your skin" scent.

If you're worried this with be that awful acrid diaper pail honey, rest assured, it is not. It is a very smooth and inviting sweet edible honey note.

People compare this to Lush's snowcake, and I fully understand why. In the bottle especially it has that light marzipan scent- just like snowcake. In the bottle and when it's first on this smells just like light almonds on me- I love that! Unfortunately it morphed on me, and it turned into a sort of plasticky, buttery scent that wasn't nice at all. Shame- if only I could capture that light, wispy almond scent in the bottle for the long haul.

You know one of those scents that makes you think, if this had a stronger throw I'd be all over purchasing it in an instant? Dana O'Shee is a perfect example. Such a pretty blend but gone before you can say MMMMMMM! First of this has an almond/cherry feel to it, but within minutes that's gone and it turns into a beautiful vanillary musk with honey. Such a soft, close to the skin smell. And like I said..the throw on this is just..hardly there. Really wish it was stronger. Such a shame. I might need to get a 5ml and just dump the whole lot over my head to get the right effect!

Dana O’Shee is reminiscent of rice pudding with a soft pour of cream on top, and/or perhaps a honeyed milk custard, and stir in some sugared marizpan... but imagine dreamy spoonfuls of all of this while a faint incense lingers in the air. Or, perhaps, envision an unlit cone of sugared milk custard incense! It sounds delicious, but don’t eat it! Tempted though ye may be.

Gorgeous almond, milk and honey that dries to baby powder. Really NICE baby powder, though, and I sort of hate powdery scents, so that is a thumbs up on this one, that I don't hate it. Soft, comfortable.

It only pulls almond/cherry on me? I can't smell the milk or honey or wheat at all, sadly :(
