Dragon's Eye

As this contains three of my favourite fragrance notes, I find it hard to critique the smell of this scent. However, I must plead ignorance when it comes to the name. Now, as this is labelled as an oriental scent, I sort of understand the strong floral aspect. It's not unusual for dragons to be depicted alongside plant life & all things beautiful. As with many illustrations and literature from, at least, China or Japan, flowers are often placed alongside beasts and creatures of might. Still, the choice of flowers bewilders me. Lilac I can potentially understand, but lily of the valley and galbanum are strange. It works together, all very well, but it's an unusual title. I don't know the story yet and have not yet looked it up - I didn't want too much to cloud my mind. What I will say is this: it's gorgeous. It's simplistic, but it's gorgeous. The resins are soft and it's all very well blended. Lilac & galbanum are so beautiful and perfect respect was shown to both. Lily of the Valley isn't too cloying here, which it can be so, again, that's a plus. A really beautiful scent, sure to make you happy.

Dragon's eye to me is an even more floral, potent mixture of dragon's blood!. The lilac is what comes out after the initial whoosh of Dragon's Blood, with a faint whiff of Lily of the Valley. If anything the other 3 florals in this blend just make the dragon's blood more interesting, after a while the dragon's blood wears off a bit and the other florals take hold. This blend has alot of throw on me! In a word.... Gorgeous.

On me, starts of as a pollen-y yellow floral, dry and wild but, unfortunately, on my skin it settles as an old laundry detergent we had named Jua. The start would easily be 4 stars for me, but the drydown is 1-2 stars.
