Embalming Fluid

This is a beautiful BEAUTIFUL fragrance. Easy reach, breezy, green and fresh. It has the perfect "clean" scent while still smelling interesting- a feat that is often difficult for more simplistic freshies. Often with perfume oils, it is hard to convey a true *fresh* scent. Black Phoenix does particularly well with balsamic fragrances, but Embalming Fluid is a shining star in terms of freshness. It reminds me a LOT of the green tea fragrance in the historic Lenox Hotel in Boston, and brings back happy memories of my time living there. This smells like the sun coming out after a storm; brownstones still wet with rain, and you've just stepped into a chic hotel lobby for a cocktail. Also I love the name of this one- I always feel cheeky wearing this fresh scent with such a macabre name! Sillage is slightly better than some other citrus fragrances, and it transforms into a fuzzy musk once you hit 2-3 hours. For those of you who love Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea, this is VERY very similar, lasts longer, and would layer BEAUTIFULLY together!

LISTEN TO ME: YOU NEED THIS. I searched FOREVER for something light and green with a bit of a wood or musk base and every perfume I tried fell completely short. It either smelled like a salad, grass, too musky, way too heavy, too sweet, astringent, UNTIL I got a sample imp of Embalming Fluid from BPAL by total happenstance. I got it as a free sample with an order I had placed for my partner. So glad for this happy accident because this has become my second favorite scent to wear eeeeever, I might even go so far to say that if I was a 2 perfume a day gal, this would be my day scent. It's perfectly balanced and IMO fits just about every occasion. 10/10

This is so fresh and clean, without being soapy. I would wear this to a job interview, as it's fresh and pleasant but not very strong.

I really like this one. It starts off very lemony, but it's nicely balanced by the green tea note. I don't really detect the musk at first but as I wear it the musk note slowly creeps up until it's the dominant note. After a while the lemon fades out completely. There's something really intimate about this fragrance that appeals to me, especially given the low sillage. I only wish it lasted longer -- as it is it's completely undetectable to me after a couple hours.

smells a lot like brisk iced tea !! super pleasant and clean

I REALLY REALLY like this!!! I had my sample for an eternity but never got round to wearing it yet! Well...it was the pick of the week last week and I've fallen in love! I really want to smell this next to the lab's "51", so when I get home I will.. They are in the same vein for me, extremely fresh and uplifting... When it's wet it's mainly lemon, but a really nice lemon...not washing up liquid lemon...not fake lemon..it's almost like a green tinged lemon.. As it dries and has warmed up on the wrist a bit, it just becomes this incredibly pleasant crisp smell..the green tea is giving it a slight herbyness, and the white musk I cannot detect but I'm sure it's adding to the overall smell! I just WISH this lasted longer..it's a shame, citrussy things tend to go fast on me... I think this has to be added to my bottle list though, because it will be beautiful for summer!!

has anyone tried any of these? they sound interesting and their webiste is also very interesting. Just curious what others opinions on this brand are?
