Rapture

This scent was specifically chosen because it made me think of a store not far from where I grew up that imported incense as well as exotic clothing and decorative housewares. I have a bright orange with gold embroidered pillow from there, which radiated these smells for quite some time after it's purchase. Unfortunately, right after it dries Rapture reminds me of Off! (bug spray is NOT a sexy smell- at least I don't think so, if that's your cup of tea, no offence meant). A respectable time after the Jasmine comes out, stronger and overpowering the rest and it's more friendly sailing from then on.

Rapture is a citrus/floral that is rather par for the course for BPAL. It opens with a heady citrus of bergamot, mandarin orange and neroli. The opening is rather thick, not like an average citrus fragrance. The heart of Rapture is mostly floral. I was more aware of jasmine more than the other floral notes and I don't get much rose. After the other citrus notes wear off it's mostly a jasmine and neroli mix for me. Longevity is excellent and sillage is average. You would be noticed wearing it, but hopefully it wouldn't send anyone running. This might be a safe bet if you're looking to try a BPAL fragrance. After sampling and owning several, it actually smells like some I've sampled before, so I don't think I'd purchase this one, but I wouldn't throw it away if it was given to me.
