Pipe Bomb Intense

I initially purchased samples of Pipe Bomb and Pipe Bomb Pink. Pipe Bomb Pink was a no-go for me; it's heavier on the metallic note and the wax crayon addition throws me off. I did appreciate the rose note however. Pipe Bomb (regular) proved to be more promising. I really enjoyed the original composition however it was very weak; I hardly had enough time to decipher what I was smelling before it vanished. Needless to say, it did not wear well... or at all for that matter. Yet, I really liked the clean, mechanic smell. So, I took the chance on purchasing Pipe Bomb Intense, obviously hoping that "intense" meant that I could actually smell the fragrance. Thankfully, that was case. This is way more concentrated and powerful than the original. Intense lasted a good eight hours on me. Although, I've noticed that this scent performs best when the wearer is active. I don't notice it often when I'm idle, but, when I'm moving around and sweating, this scent brightens. It's definitely not a consistent aroma, but rather it drifts in and out. Iso E Super definitely plays a role in here, but it doesn't show up as woody as it does in Molecule 01 (01 smells like a guinea pig cage to me). The metallic note is great and strong. It smells like what I'd imagine aluminum or steel sheet metal to smell like; it's very sharp and silver–– not coppery at all if that makes sense. I think the sea note aids that. There is a crisp, saltiness to the composition. The amber in this doesn't play a big role. If anything, it supports the subtle earthiness (griminess) of the scent alongside the saltwater. The amber in this isn't a typical warm, complex element; it's definitely cooler and woodier. Overall, I'd definitely say that this leans masculine, but I could see it being used as an enhancer to something more floral or fruity. I'm a fan.

I bought Pipe Bomb originally which other people could smell on me but I could not smell on myself, even after about ten minutes—strange. This is everything I loved about it for those ten minutes and then some. I love it so much that I rarely want to wear anything else. It's metallic, almost salty, so distinct that I love smelling it on my clothes after I and I receive compliments on it often. I find it refreshing, never heavy; I especially like it in the summer, as I think warm skin really makes it shine. I hope they never stop producing it or I'll be devastated.

Beautifully sharp scent that unfortunately doesn't last very long or have much projection at all. I still keep buying it somehow even though the formula they've been using for the last few years has never improved in terms of its sillage or longevity. It smells like a gust of cold air blowing off steel pipes that are stuffed with some kind of sweet burning resin.

Pipe Bomb Intense shocked with a sharp chemical opening, but quickly settled into a subtle yet delectable salty-metallic fragrance appropriate for everyday wear. Evocative and strange without veering into off-putting. Good longevity. Slight masculine lean. While the sillage is a little lacking, it doesn't detract from my enjoyment of this fragrance.

Cool, unique scent. That said, I can mostly just smell a lot of Ambroxan and ISO e Super, making the price point on this seem steep. The Ambergris scent does seem v. Natural, though! As others mentioned, the longevity and silage are quite low.

Strange that I find the OG more intense than Pipe Bomb Intense. Perhaps a wee nose blind to it because when I first got the sample, I could smell it like crazy. Though throughout the day, I smell it randomly. Still gonna buy it though.

Powerful. Powerful is the one word that truly fits this perfume through and through. Unlike its brothers and sisters in the pipe bomb collection this one takes blackbirds niche of wearable weird to the extreme. @Jomega says it perfectly: the beginning truly smells like cold and stainless steel. Then as it dries down it begins to become more like its brother “Pipe Bomb” but with more pronounced notes of ambergris like salty marine, iso e super, and maybe a hint of Ambroxan? (Idk this last one is a shot in the dark) I get pretty decent performance and projection with this, might be entirely skin dependent like the original pipe bomb is. Like a the air around a sweet, metallic woods sitting on an island in the middle of a salty sea. It is most certainly niche, but pleasant and mass appealing enough that I can see anyone liking this. The “weirdest” parts of the scent are the name and the opening metallic notes. Other than that it’s your regular pipe bomb but supercharged, Buy pipe bomb if you are more into ethereal/airy scents like molecule 1, mizuchi, or really any of the other eccentric molecules. It is a light and airy fragrance to slowly hit the nose of those around you. Buy pipe bomb intense if you like/love the smell of the OG but want to really push it’s limits and make a powerful statement. A cold, metallic, and powerful statement will be made every time you put this on.

definitely a bigger fragrance than the original, with better projection, but it also seems like this version has a woody note that the original formulation lacks. to me this combines with the saltiness for a driftwood aroma that is specific to the intense version. i get the characteristic metallic scent of pipe bomb but the woodiness in this one overpowers the more animalic, ambery elements of the original. i find it slightly more boring because of that just know there are some slight differences between this and the original besides intensity

Wow. If you have ever used dry incense with self lighting brickettes than you will recognize this. The incense is dark and has more copal than amber. This may be the most magical thing I've smelled.

More complicated than a simple mist of ambroxan but it takes time to get there.... Honestly the name "pipe bomb" pushes an unhelpful picture that doesn't quite match. This is peaceful and calming, naturally very coastal.... A soft, meandering coastline more than anything turbulent and frozen. I like this type of gentle marine, with plenty of wood and a total lack of seaweedy, dead fish bod quality....

oops all ambroxan. honestly smells like if you rubbed ambroxan on your skin straight from the vial. this might just be an issue with my own skin chemistry however

This is a lot like Molecule 01. It smells of old book pages which is not terrible. I’m intrigued to say the least. Happy I am ?? Buy it

I can't smell this. I think it's my noses's fault though. Darn nose.
