Flamingo

Flamingo is unusual. It goes through various transitions and isn't clear on where it's going until you get there, if that makes sense. The opening scent is somewhat fruity but also metallic. I didn't find it to be nice or attractive but it wasn't repulsive either. More of a "I wouldn't want to smell like that" but not a scrubber. As it started to evolve, the metallic accord pulled back and I suddenly got a whiff of very nice tobacco. That didn't last and then the woody notes began to appear with a touch of smokiness. It seemed the guaiac wood was most prominent but with also a bit of creaminess and no rubbery smell. It smelled similar to the final woody smell of a VERY diluted Amouage Silver Oud or Armaf Special Amber Oud. (There is no oud note in Flamingo.) Up to this point, Flamingo was a very reserved scent. Projection was very weak; the scent very subtle on me. As time went on, I became even more surprised. While the scent struck me as average, I had to be moving to get a good whiff. The performance was a big disappointment. Until, that is, after about an hour, Flamingo started to get stronger and became much more noticeable. It certainly still wasn't a strong fragrance let alone beast mode, but it had a very versatile strength that would work in a confined space, office or car pool. Considering all the above, Flamingo is too reserved for my taste even though its final dry down scent is pleasant. I already have Silver Oud to scratch that itch and plan on getting a FB of Special Amber Oud. Flamingo's value is also not good as it's currently available at a discounter for $245.

I understand fragrance is art. Also, this is the worst fragrance I've ever smelled.
