Epic

Love at first sniff. This won't be for everyone, as you have to like herbal notes, but here they are mixed with fruity notes and airy garden florals on an earthy sandalwood base. It might not sound so great just by reading the notes, but it actually smells great. Edit - 8/23 - I really love this more and more every time I wear it. The apricoty osmanthus has a leather undertone that I just love and unlike a lot of osmanthus fragrances is not syrupy sweet. I think the herbal notes offsets that. I am not getting powder at all in this, at any time, though there is a slight mossiness. After the initial herby start this goes right to that beautiful floral leathery heart and only after hours and hours of wear do the base notes join the florals. Phenomenal performance that really hangs on and softly projects for over 10 hours on my skin. I'm sure if I had not taken a shower I would have woken up and still been able to smell it the next day. This is a true luxury product at a bargain basement price. I highly recommend it.

Revisiting Epic today because it is hot and humid and I'm craving something that smells clean and dry but not powdery or sweet. Epic fits the bill with the sage note that is more like dried sage at the end of summer, rather than a live plant. No sweetness here. Smells dry, clean, slightly herbal and leathery even though leather is not a listed note the way this is blended it gives me a light dry leather note like when you take a fur out of storage. By modern standards this is very unisex, stays close to the skin and lasts at least 4-5 hours. Not something to blind buy because it is very unique. It's probably a love it or hate it polarizing scent.

Right out of the gate I knew this one was a welcome change. The initial spray kind of leaves me at a loss of words. NOT in a bad way I honestly have a hard time describing it. Strong, powerful, unusual, and fantastic! I don't believe i've encountered another fragrance like this. So as I examine the notes Fragrantica mentions I definitely get the woody and earthy notes I feel as though I am smelling some thyme or sage (as Lizardbreath mentions below) or something else here. After it begins to settle the aroma is very pleasing and while silage is mild lasting power is very moderate. I smell on my wrist the next morning. I would not recommend this as a blind buy but I do recommend it! Update on lasting power... VERY good and continue to smell it in the evening when sprayed early in the morning.

First blast....not for the weak....lol...odd,sagey,herbs.....but wait. This is one of those fragrances that DEMANDS to be let to develop on the skin and chemistry wise. It does go thru a couple transformations on me...then..the dry-down, which for me, is worth the wait !!! Very different type scent...old-school...vintage-y feel...which I love. In the dry-down...the floral aspect evolves...softening that sage/patch/moss opening....osmanthus blended with LOV,peony..ylang...lightly...but effectively. Sillage/projection on me is above average. The slogan fo Blackglama..."What becomes a legend most"? In this case....EPIC !!!

Opens with an interesting smokey sage type of thing that almost reminds me of the smell of an apartment complex with the cigarette smoke etc. but in a more "interesting" than "bad" way. After that, on me, it dries into a load of iris, weirdly enough, since I don't see that listed in the notes. I guess it must be the osmanthus but it's really indistinguishable from the iris in something like Bvlgari Eau The Bleu.
