Cendre et Or

The spicy heated moodiness of cardamom quickly gives way to petals of the softest rose. Whispers of damask tease your senses in the resinous oud and incense accords making for a seductive scent that leaves you wanting more. Quite the olfactive sensorial journey.

Smokey ambery woody soft rose with a playful tease of cardamon, becoming more jammy and woody as it dries - this one I get as an XdP as whiffs are better, but it's not a scent profile I generally like so a big cloud as EdP strength may be your bag. I'll pass this on to a friend who still enjoys remembering their more gothic days. Cool weather, dark nights.

I have the extrait oil 6ml of this and I will definitely be purchasing the 50ml spray version. This reminds me of Oud Azelan but more robust. I had Cendre et Or before I smelt Oud Azelan, however. This is a warm, yet fluid rose oud... more rose than oud I would say. The rose is jammy but also quite deep and dark, smoky... and there’s something quite amber-esque about it, and woody because of the oud. The oud is subtle, though. There’s an aromatic shadow underpinning the composition. It’s really beautiful. Not a typical oud/rose/amber attar... Cendre et Or is quite contemporary. It lasts and lasts and lasts. Great to put into the ends of your hair. The rollerball is metal so it feels quite luxurious upon application, it’s very smooth and you get quite a nice amount of fragrance oil from the rollerball. I also have Grounded from the line and would love to try the cannabis one. Overall a really beautiful oil. Oud Azelan is rose oud in watercolour... as I mentioned in my review of that perfume. This is bolder, warmer, more like rose oud in pastel. Very smooth and pleasant.
