Vanilla Mudslide

I'm going to write about this fragrance more like I'm talking to myself than I am talking to anyone else. I'm starting to realize that I enjoy vanilla fragrances much more when they have two things: that they have a creaminess factor such as butter, milk, or some kind of almond butter etc. And then also if the composition is cut with some type of uplifting and transparent factor such as musk, AMBROXAN, IS OE Super etc. These two things allow me to wear very sweet fragrances without getting sick. And that is what is happening here. Yes I am aware there is vodka in here, but that is not a determining factor for me. Do I think this fragrance is number one in the vanilla category? Probably not. I'm really not the expert in vanilla. In general, I am a fragrance expert. I don't really get excited like other people do. Yes it is enjoyable, and I like it in compositions, but I don't like it as the main character. It becomes a little bit boring. What I want is a really strong concept first. A really strong and beautiful story, and then structure a fragrance around that. I don't want vanilla first and then the story second. The story behind this fragrance seems to be I like alcohol. That's it. And that's not enough for me. It's a good fragrance don't get me wrong. It smells very nice, but I personally think there are better based vanillas out there. But I'm also not upset this was at number one under the category. So it's really up to you. This is a fragrance where I highly recommend that you try yourself first since you can't really envision what it is based on the description itself. You can't place yourself before you smell it. That's pretty much it. Try it for yourself. If you are a fan of sweeter fragrances and you enjoy vanilla you will not be disappointed. If you are deep in your fragrance hobby and your demand is high for complex fragrances, this is where you might be disappointed. I am on the fence.

Pleasantly surprised! I'm pretty sure this is a new fragrance house. So far so good. It is sweet but not overly done. I've never had a mudslide, but I am assuming there is chocolate mixed into the drink? It's done very well. I personally can smell the vodka and it is done with a very deft hand. This may not be fair, but I judge fragrances sometimes by if they bring me back to a particular moment in my life or if they inspire my mind to think about something that brings me joy. Those are the fragrances that I have to have in my collection. Unfortunately I do not experience that here. Not yet anyway. To be fair, it's only been about 15 minutes. I also am not a drinker. I do not enjoy alcohol. I may in fact be allergic. I have never had a mudslide. That could very well be the reason why I cannot connect. I think it's very important that I say this because this fragrance could be fantastic for those of you who are familiar with this drink and have memories attached to it. It is very high quality in my opinion, so I do recommend you try this. Really nothing to complain about. This could the end up becoming a very cool brand! Finally a sweet fragrance I could get behind.

A great vanilla scent, something like a less sweet, darker take on Spiriteuse Double Vanille. Very very close to Van Py Rhum and its clone, X Xandal (you can explore the profile at every price point). It's deep, it has chocolate nuances, a boozy almondy undertone, it's nothing like a typical (more feminine) vanilla scent, it's not powdery or reminding of white baking vanilla, it's more of a very expensive vanilla bourbon extract. It's soft but at the same time rich. A three season unisex scent, more useful in the evening, ideal for dates or cozy settings as it doesn't scream projection-wise, but lasts more than 12 hours on skin and more than a day on clothes. Not too syrupy, without unnecessary sweetness, not drowned in molecular stuff, fairly linear, so it's also great for layering with something more gourmand or something more woody. The perfume guy is always right when he's raving about a perfume, whether it's in my tastes or not, it's always a good blend.

This truly is a great vanilla scent. I was hesitant to try it due to the coffee note. I adore the smell of coffee brewing and of course I love the taste but have always found it troublesome the way it comes across in fragrances. Thankfully I don't pick up on it here. The opening is quite unique with butter in the top. I find myself wishing that would last a bit longer but I'm certainly not disappointed with the mid and base. As far as comparing it to other fragrances there is a quality faintly reminiscent of Angels Share, though I wouldn't go so far as to say they smell alike. There is a sort of spicy, boozy deep vanilla quality that they share. A vibe perfect for cozy fall and winter nights.

1/3 of the bottle is gone now so now safe to review. In my 200+ bottle collection this is in my top 5. Everything is so nicely balanced. Can not find anything negative smell vise. In terms of Performance, i can easily feel the scent buble around me for a good 4-5 hours. Once you think it’s gone, boom! Someone stops you to ask about it after 8 hours of applying. Than it should fade right? But no there is more... After god knows how many hours past since you applied, sweet slightly buttery vanilla still lingers so you can get whiffs. Anyways... 10.5/10

I have had this vanilla mudslide for couple months now Best vanilla out it smells nothing like angel share this has vodka not cognac very long lasting simply the bomb don't listen to these people on here saying it smells like angel share it's nothing like that it's is own thing this has some of the most photo realistic vodka note I have ever smelled blended with butter vanilla chocolate and everything else amazing scent get your self a decant or whole bottle you won't regret it..

This is a good gourmand vanilla with chocolate. The opening is masculine and I can smell the vodka but that doesn’t last very long. The dry down reminds me of Bianco Latte but with the cacao note mixed into this with a slight booziness. The dry down becomes more feminine and sweeter. Would work for both men and women. Very nice!

Reminds me of Spiritueuse Double Vanille, but has white booze instead of brown. A little dryer and holds back a bit on the sweetness compared to SDV. Delicious, cozy high end vanilla. Generous scent bubble and beast mode performance.

What a triumph of fragrance. It is just this rich, musky vanilla. The butter note is everything and I loved the coconut as well. I layered it with Velvet Tonka by BDK and omg. Delicious.

Great dirty vanilla fragrance. Not similar to SDV or van py rhum at all. The most similar thing to this I would say is the old version of vanille antique

If you are british it smells exactly like a mr kipling angel slice, which is a great smell and idk about you but i would love to smell like that.

A rich vanilla-butter splashed with vodka, next ashes of all things 10/10

I've been wearing this for last few days, but my bottle is fairly new, so not sure if the fragrance will change over time. I predominantly get vodka and then vanilla for the first three hours, then it morphs into a bianco latte type of smell with vodka in the background. In the deep dry, I get an overall impression of cocoa butter scent and no vodka. This is my most favourite part. I don't usually buy fragrances with alcohol notes, but I'm really enjoying Vanilla Mudslide. I like that it's non-linear and I'm learning to enjoy all facets of the fragrance. I don't think it's a challenging scent per se but I wouldn't blind buy it because of the vodka note.

I just received a decant of Mudslide from ZGO. The initial impression on paper is a photorealistic scent of the frozen concoction I had a few too many of down in Key West. It is gourmand but not overly sweet. It's got that Wendy's Frosty vibe, definitely lactonic, and the coffee liqueur is there in the background with the almond. I detect an alcohol scent, but it seems intentional, not cheap. Not sure yet of projection and longevity. I'll come back when I do a full skin test. Interesting brand, looking forward to wearing this and trying others in the BLNDR brand.

Throughout the life cycle of this scent I tried to find any special effects or notes and it was very hard to find It was vanilla pure and simple and it smells same as every other scent that you can try In the market The only difference that i discovered after a while is a dirty or dirt like smell in the end of the day like 6 hours in It wasn’t that significant or obvious I had to smell my clothes to make sure it was me Performance is very good Not something I’d pay the price for A mediocre experience

This was very nostalgic to me. I don't know why but I reminded me of my grandparents. Make no mistake this is no grandma fragrance 😂 so beautiful, great sweetness. Your typical vanilla fragrance but with a addicting kinda dark twist. Very complex you get that buttery, sweet almond note and a lil bit of that gourmand profile.. so good great job guys

The butter in the open is realistic though brief. The almond extract and fresh split vanilla bean are prominent. The coconut milk, cocoa, and coffee are there but faint whispers. The davina, musk and iso e super blend well with the prominent notes. Overall this may be the best almond scent i have ever tried.

It’s very potent! It starts with a deep, rich and bitter almond (aka dark cherry) note. I feel an overdose of coumarin in it, but it actually balanced with some other sweet and spicy notes, so smells nice, but still very into your face for my personal taste. Follow me on ig: scent.guide

it's lovely, but seems very weak on my skin for some reason. Edit: I went from being underwelmed to absolutely loving this perfume. I purchased a full bottle. Lesson leared to give it some time before making a judement call.

Smells like if Angel's Share was crossed with Bianco Latte, with added chocolate. Cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate smell. The sweetness is perfectly balanced. Longevity + Projection decent.

on the opening i get vanilla extract, bitter almond, woody & musky notes, then i smell the buttery notes and on the dry down it’s a sweet vanilla

To me it is like whipped cream with a maraschino cherry. A realistic ice cream sundae. It also benefits greatly from an airy freshness, this one is very sweet but never comes across unwelcome. It is delicious but it is just way too feminine for me. I don’t consider this unisex at all. 7.5/10

I don't like the fragrance because a combination of vanilla and tonka with musks and lactones creates this "plastic" note in my olfactory perception.

Didn’t like this one at first spray but after 15-30 minutes, I could enjoy it more, this is very sweet, the almond is present but it’s a sweet almond, I’m not getting any chocolate in this one or coffee which is fine, I more wanted this one for the vanilla, but strangely enough I’m not immediately making a link to vanilla either, I was expecting a very direct vanilla, one in which I could instantly go this is a vanilla fragrance, but I’m getting more of a sweet dessert like, almond musky gourmand fragrance, but a very different almond compared to the one smelt in chemin d amande which was more bakewell tart like, this is more like the sundae reference mentioned by another reviewer, it is nice, I do get a slight smokiness, but not enough for me to say this is a smoky vanilla or a smoky gourmand, as I think to others around you it would just project as a sweet dessert. I’m not in love with it, I’ll return to it in 1-2 weeks and see how I feel then, sometimes fragrances can grow on us with time, I wouldn’t say it’s blind buy safe, if your expecting a definite vanilla fragrance you may be disappointed. They’ve launched this as unisex, I personally feel it leans much more feminine because of how extremely sweet it is, but each to their own. Update- The more I’ve gone to smell this the more I’ve disliked it, it reminds me of something, not another fragrance, but similar to something I must have smelt before but can’t pinpoint exactly what that something is, but yeah unfortunately do not find this one enjoyable at all, not to bad to say I hate it but it’s a strong dislike, glad I didn’t blind buy due to recent hype, i just don’t find it to be a vanilla, or elegant in any shape of form, smells somewhat artificial.

I was drawn into the hype of this but it isn’t anywhere near as special as it’s being made out to be. I’ve tested this several times, bought it and sold it. You get the booze in the beginning but it disappears quickly and dries down to a very synthetic smelling children’s brownie / fake chocolate body spray scent. I’d agree it’s very similar to MM Brownie Pop. This isn’t worth the money. Vanille Havane Les Indemodables, Spiritueuse Double Vanille Guerlain and Van Exstasyx Lorenzo Pazzaglia are way more superior to this.

I was excited about this one but it isn’t as special as it’s made out to be. I don’t get much chocolate if any. It’s a gorgeous vanilla but definitely not the best. To my nose this is quite similar Initio’s Absolute Aphrodisiac. Glad I don’t need to add it to my collection.

Oh Heck No! Not for $265! This is a drunken Bianco Latte. The only good thing is the vanilla but that Vodka note needs to be tone waaay down.

This one has been a bit of a breakout success and a lot of people have been talking about it online. I got the sample set from TPG online and wore it yesterday and again this morning to really get to grips with it for this review. Now, for background, I don't really like most gourmands. I get the creativity and why others like to wear them but it isn't really my thing. But I do like cocktails. So there is that. The opening blast is vanillic sweetness that is, not-very-surprisingly, redolent of the sort of tall, fudgy ice cream floats you find in American diners. There is an almond accord right from the off that stays in quite resolutely into the drydown. I find myself wanting more of the bitter and dark coffee syrup as it is sweet. But as you stay with it, you find yourself enjoying the depth. I was expecting cloying, makes-your-teeth-hurt sweetness but it has real character and a very pleasing dark side to it which is very much in the theme. The vanilla changes on the skin from sweet to really dusky and slightly dry; similar to the vanilla you find in Vanilla Powder Extrait by Matiere which this actually resembles in some ways as it dries down. There is a freshness from the faint tinge of vodka and the cocoa is the bitter, ebony-coloured powder, not the Mars Bar kind. About ten minutes in and I really started to enjoy this. My preconceptions were wrong. This isnt evocative of anything from my childhood. We arent talking about a slightly queasy takeaway box from Cheesecake Factory. There is very little that is good clean family fun here. This is cocktail sampling in a dark mixology bar. Me likey. The cocktail vibes stay in but arent hackneyed or overdone and I do like how this starts out and remains a fine fragrance first with a theme second. We see some fragrances that take the theming too far and end up losing sight of the fact that people need to enjoy smelling of what they are producing. Vanilla Mudslide is nowhere near novelty territory and I appreciate that this has much greater wearability than I expected. It also surprised me that it doesnt lean feminine for me: it is very unisex indeed, which given the accords here is quite the thing and again, quite in keeping with the theme. I have to say it is very nicely done indeed. There is a dirty, adult vibe to this that I really appreciate. It evokes those nights out with a significant other on a date, where you go sampling cocktails in a shadowy speakeasy that smells of burned rosemary and adultery, that is playing low-fi music you've never heard before. She orders something like a vanilla mudslide. You order a Blanton's and cherry brandy whiskey sour and smirkingly give her the soused cherry on the stick while she proffers hers for you to enjoy. You like hers a lot more than she likes yours. Would I wear this? Yeah I think I would. Not often but I enjoy atmospheric, sultry vanillas and this sits in the Montale Dark Vanilla, Angels Share On The Rocks, Lattafa Khamrah Qawah sort of box for me and I wear all three of those, and Vanila Mudslide is arguably more interesting/complex than these as well. I can see why this is so popular. Three Word Summary: Dirty Adult Fun Scent - 8/10 Drydown - 8/10 Sillage - 7/10 Bottle/packaging - 9/10 Performance - 7/10 39/50

Beautiful buttery, whipped cream and clouds like vanilla scent. Unfortunately the dose of Ambroxan here is ruining the experience for me. But now I remember I adored Nebras Elixir from Lattafa, it has the exact same profile but much less Ambroxan. If the Ambroxan here is ruining this scent for you please try Nebras Elixir, I would say they are at least 98% similar but NE has much less Ambroxan. This is gorgeous, but sadly it's giving me a Migraine. This is so pretty...man...I just wish It didn't have all the megadose of Ambroxan....Oh well...modern times perfumery is a disgrace. It takes so many trials and sampling to find something different and beautiful but when you find it...it feels toxic. Complete disgrace!

So far after wearing this, slight angels share vibe I’ll come back with a full review. Not like SDV as that is more boozy to me. Not dated kinda want more vodka in the fragrance. I like this is for adults as well, not kiddy or overly sweet either. Just the right amount of sweetness that enables men to wear this. Definitely close to TV minus the spices, never knew chocolate and tobacco notes can be so close. This is really just a fragrance based on preference or maybe just buy both and have both in your arsenal if you’re indecisive. Cant wait to report back on this one.

I was really excited for when this got delivered to my house. And just like that. I don’t smell anything. It’s not a fake so take your fingers off the keyboard. I think I will let it sit for a min. I did smell something and it was an angle share type of smell but then it went. I even layered this with side effect which I only met SE, that one is dangerously good if a when I can smell it. I Will be back to update. Not giving up yet.

Opens with prominent almond, then after about 15-20 mins it quiets down. Dry down very similar to Lattafa Eclaire with good projection. Basically Eclaire with an oomph of almonds.

Im not getting any vanilla here unfortunately. On my skin it smells like chocolate/slight coffee. Reminds me of maison mataha brownie pop. I wanted vanilla, bummer.

Smells like hot, buttered vodka (if it was a thing) with spices and a hefty splash of amaretto. I feel tipsy just wearing this - it’s fabulous.

Love love love Very nice fragrance, exactly in the notes DNA i like. Vanilla should be dirty sometimes, you know.
