Brazilian Lily

My perspective is a little different. I admittedly have never got my nose on Un Jardin en Méditerranée but I have Fig Ecstasy and this is definitely close to it. It's kind of weird since I can very rarely stomach fig perfumes. The fig note to my nose is burnt plastic, plain and simple. Fig Ecstasy is a very odd exception (probably because the fig isn't the star of the show) and now I have this one. The opening to this is beautiful. It was the biggest surprise in my ScentXplore box. A sample in an unusual little sleeve hiding a heck of a surprise. This smells natural, uplifting and zingy. Sadly, it turns very lily-forward after 15 min or so, and so leans too feminine for me I would think (then again, if I can wear Zoologist's Dragonfly, I can probably pull this off too). It holds very well on strip so it should do well on skin too. I'll definitely test it this spring but meanwhile, this is a great little introduction to this American house and makes me curious for more.

I am a sucker for fig fragrances. I had been looking to fulfill that fig shaped void for the spring/summer. The perfume starts green, truly like walking through a rainforest. The neroli is very prominent in the opening and this part lasts for about an hour on me. The sweet fig and red currant with its surrounding flowers peak through slowly until it is the focal point and the neroli takes a backseat. This dry down is stunning. edit: its been 6 months since buying this perfume and I genuinely love it. It is woody, fresh, citrusy sweet. It is so easy to wear and became a signature scent for me.

Such a stunning fresh scent! To my nose it shares some similarities with “Un Jardin En Mediteranee” by Hermes, but feels even more refined. I adore this combination of notes and how it wears on the skin. It opens with a fruity burst and then settles to a beautiful fig/lily with a pleasant and very gentle woody base. It is so wearable but in no way boring. It would make a fantastic signature scent but would especially sing in the hotter months. ☀️

I tested this on my hand in store, left the store and then came back 10 minutes later to purchase; it's that pretty. Beautiful fig note in the opening for me that quickly fades, but the red currant really lasts and I get wifts of the lily too. I find fruit forward scents to be hit or miss but this is bright and classy and lovely. Perfect for spring and summer.

if i close my eyes, i can imagine being in a greenhouse surrounded by lilies and dark green ferns. i agree with the rest of the comments saying it smells very wet/fresh, but the initial spray is almost a photorealistic tiger lily on my skin. its good for any spring or summer occasion, and its also really great for layering over any other marine fragrance :)

My first impression is somehow of strong licorice! After a minute or so, that faded and revealed a pleasant, not-too-sweet fruitiness with an aquatic facet dancing about it. I think the green aspects of neroli and fig milk are helping to tame the sweetness. What I don’t smell at all, though, is lily, for which this fragrance is ostensibly named. That probably shouldn’t be a surprise, as the genus Lilium is not a Brazilian thing. So many other (non-lily) plants have historically been called “lily” that I am left wondering if lilies were in fact *not* the inspiration for this perfume. If not, what? I am dying to know! True “pink (Otiental) lilies” are currently in bloom in my garden, and I detect nothing like their intoxicating heady scent here. That said, I still very much enjoy this perfume, and it works well in heat and humidity. Some quick research suggests that Alstroemeria caryophyllacea has been known as “Brazilian lily” in some circles. Maybe this is the floral inspiration.

I received this fragrance as a sample when ordering Blocki’s Sanrovia (which actually didn’t care for). Much to my surprise, the sample of Brazilian Lily caught me off guard! It’s a beautiful mix of fig, lily, red currant and neroli without being overly floral. It’s bright and refreshing! Perfect for Spring or Summer. It’s similar to Un Jardin en Mediteranee- as if they were cousins- but still its own unique scent. It reminds me of a lush green garden in springtime! 8/10 for me!

I agree, to me it smells like if you mixed Hermes Une Jardin En Mediterannee with a small hint of Byredo Pulp. A juicy, fruity, fresh Lily. Personally, I prefer the Hermes - I find it a bit more uplifting and interesting, and it’s cheaper too. Still, Brazilian Lilly smells lovely and I would wager that most people would enjoy the way it smells so if you like Lily scents then I think it’s worth a sniff (as is the Hermes if you haven’t tried it already).

I'm revisiting some of the scents from the Blocki dscovery set that I picked up last year as my tastes have evolved. Brazillian lily is my favorite. As other reviewers have mentioned, the scent feels wet and fresh. Fig, fruity, lily. Their For Walks scent is also in the same vein. Evocative

Testing this blind from the ScentXplore bag a few days in a row. First impression was a light, fruity sweet fragrance but with just enough young playful sweetness. There's a floral element but clearly second to the fruit. It leans just a bit feminine to me but unisex for most. I thought it might have been pear or pear and raspberry, or something like that, mixed with tea or some greens, but looking at the notes now it's mainly the red currant and lily. The fig is in there and neroli is base, but the bergamot is mainly suggestive, and the driftwood and amber don't seem to be present at all. The musk element makes its arrival a little late. Overall, it's nice, pleasant, easy to wear, and has an uplifting feeling. It isn't complex or trying to wow you. It's Sunday brunch with the ladies. With it's moderate projection and longevity, (and in my view it's simplicity) it's price point is high. I imagine there's some nice alternatives out there.

Some aquatic fragrances have this creamy, "sunscreeny" quality (there are a few different potential causes, but it's probably the neroli in this case) that is just not for me. Brazilian Lily is, unfortunately, one of those scents and that bums me out so bad because there's so much that I love about it otherwise. A very fresh scent with exciting floral and fruity layers. If that sunscreen quality evokes memories of great days spent at the beach, I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Brazilian Lily is a fairly linear fragrance that presents a very realistic lily scent. My personal experience with a lily scent is helping a church set up for Easter and bringing in many of the white Easter lilies. The scent is not overly sweet or even floral but there is a strong green/vegetation type scent. Brazilian Lily is very similar, although the floral accord is a bit stronger than what I experienced with Easter lilies and it shares the stage equally with the green/vegetation scent. It is very realistic. No way is this fragrance unisex. It's very feminine. However, since Blocki insists on selling it as unisex, I'm rating it poorly from a man's point of view. Brazilian Lily is quite fleeting - got about 5 hours tops out of it with weak projection.

Fig has been having a moment that is for sure and while I like fig I don't think it is executed very well here. This is sad for me to say because I really like Blocki. But Brazilian Lily is a mish mash oddly placed notes that ends up being just a basic shampoo scent. The red current really dominates here for me and it seems out of place with the fig and driftwood. Plus I keep searching for the pink lily and cannot find it. Also this is a weak performer which is unlike Blocki. Very disappointed in this new fragrance. This smells like something Nest NYC or even bath and bodyworks would put out.

The ingredients in this fragrance give off a natural scent. It has a predominantly woody notes with initial notes of citrus and floral, followed by a strong fig note after a few minutes. Additionally, I can detect fig leaves that give the perfume an aromatic green aspect. To me, it leans more towards a fig fragrance rather than a lily scent. It’s not too floral and is perfectly suitable for both men and women. If you enjoy bitter, aromatic, and floral fragrances, this could be an excellent option for you. Overall, it’s a well-balanced fragrance with a good combination of notes and versatility. 7/10

This is lovely. Water droplets in a sweet rainforest for sure. I unfortunately am not a fan of the way fig wears on my skin. Its a green note that can often times go way too green like an actual pepper and make me nauseated. This might be better suited for me as a candle or someone who enjoys very green, earthy, peels/skin of fruit scents. Skin test: 4/10

This scent is my favorite of the Blocki sample set. However, am I the only one who feels like it smells like a hotel? Like falling asleep in a Holiday Inn after swimming in the pool. This scent is fresh, wet, and clean. No complaints from me, just an observation.
