RED+MA

I had been desperately waiting this perfume for such a long while, and when I finally managed to got my hands on it, let me tell you it did not disappoint. The initial burst was a lemon-balm-like aroma that took me by surprise. At first, I wasn’t sure what to make of it, but within 20 minutes, it transformed beautifully, delivering on the brand’s promise with a subtle, iron-like undertone. Despite its conceptual roots, the fragrance is far more wearable than I expected. It is refined, pleasant, and not at all overpowering. Update 1: After wearing it for over two hours, the scent reached its magnum opus state of potential. It’s all I have ever wanted from a perfume. It evokes the essence of humanity at its rawest. A profound, primal intimacy. It’s reminiscent of the vulnerability of sex, capturing the same rawness and intensity of an orgasm, but in an incredibly sensual and sophisticated way. It is truly a masterpiece.

As a staunch aldehyde hater, I am so happy I gave this a try. For the record, I don't think it is even close to Secretions Magnifique, I find it to be much more forgiving and wearable. SM went straight into the trash for me, I couldn't stomach opening the package it was shipped in. This, however, very pleasant. It is my favorite out of the blood line, pun intended. Opens with a harsh metallic note that tends to linger the whole day. I get fruity florals, Rose, greenery, and a mild lactonic note, with a strong cedar base. I would describe MA+ as astringent yet comforting. It does smell like blood to me but it's kind of abstract and is balanced with a flowery lightness that makes it wearable. to me, it's a perfect execution! 10/10

I will wear it. I guess the best description is clove - though it's definitely not a traditional clove scent. It's daring and uncomparable. It reminds me of resident evil. It's a dream within a dream within a seizure. It's just so strange. The words which describe this smell have yet to come into existence. Best I can say... if you're in to expiremental/strange smells, this could be your grail. 7/10

its so strong but so nice. When you first smell it it has a sickly sweetness over this hospital/sanatised smell. After about 20 mins the sweetness isn't as strong and this metallic slightly musky smell is what you're left with. It lasts a long time and I didn't need much of the perfume oil. I wore in while driving and my car does smell like the perfume now

These two guys have reconstructed my comprehension of a fragrance. MA+ is not a perfume but a form of art. It transgresses every possible dimension of olfactory universe. Never smelled anything like it. Get it!

So this arrived today and I'm wearing it right now. Let me tell you. This smell is SO unbelievably strong. I'm glad I gave it a go, and I'm going to try go into as much detail as possible as the smell (at least for me) was very unexpected. Just sprayed it on. It's completely different to how I imagined it to be- the opening scent is so unbelievably sharp. I completely agree with the comments saying it smells like mango. It does, just very very off- not quite rotten, but also 100% rotten. Like it's been left in the sun for far too long. The blood note is there, it's very metallic but honestly mixed with the milky scents it smells more fruity. It's the type of smell that would send a shiver down your spine if you smelt it on someone else. It's pretty offensive. It's now been about 4 hours. The drydown is quite similar to the opening scent, I just find that its calmed down a bit. It's not as intense and the duller base notes are more noticeable, but I still find that fruity, sharp note is dominating. At first I found the smell overwhelming and almost sickeningly sweet, but it's now manageable and quite pleasant if you try to ignore that part. We're at around the 5-6 hour mark. The metallic smell is gone and the milky notes are really beginning to dominate, and honestly I love it. This is 100% the 'innocence' people talk about with Red+MA. It's powdery, very very lactonic and actually reminds me of baby formula in a strange way. It's very sweet and dull and I can definitely see where the 'seductive' idea comes from as the stronger, sharper notes linger slightly in the background- when people say sex has a certain smell, this is what they mean. The vanilla notes other people are talking about are also there, but I can't smell any lemon. It's musky. It's not quite florally anymore, and to me it's not very summery or 'light'- it's definitely still a very very intense, emotional smell. To me, it is at it's most wearable right now. The smell is still very unsettling and has a strange feeling to it. End of the day. I've been wearing it close to 10 hours. Both the metallic and lactonic notes have calmed down and now it's a subtle baby powder and rusty nails smell. The softer milk notes are still dominating and I love it. Pretty much the same as the 6 hour mark but not as strong, still very dull but those metallic notes are still surprisingly there. This perfume is the fragrance equivalent of orange-juice-and-toothpaste-aftertaste with a nosebleed stuck on top. All in all, I have very mixed feelings. On one hand, I loooove the softer drydown and the separation between the really light metallic notes and the more lactonic, powdery base. But as another commenter worded it, the opening is absolutely brutal. It's harsh, it's sharp, it's mean, and above all, it's scary. It is dominating and not for the faint of heart- it's sickeningly sweet but the metallic and blood notes are leaving a harsher, sour taste literally in your mouth. The base notes are hardly even noticeable but just about there and it's unbelievably unsettling. Red+MA is 100% an acquired taste (though I'm sure that's obvious given the opinions are split between love and dislike). On top of that, you literally need one, MAYBE two sprays- the strength on this perfume is unreal. I had a spray on each wrist and could smell it around the entire room, all day. Even the box my order came in, despite the perfume being practically vacuum sealed, had an overwhelming smell. It's very incomparable to other perfumes, it's very unique and makes for a memorable signature scent. The best comparison I can make is The Body Shop's 'Strawberry Body Yogurt' mixed with sour mangoes and rusty copper. A brutal, but surprisingly pleasant, combination. A little bit curdled, a little bit fruity, a little bit childish and nostalgic. A solid 8/10 if you're into offensive or strange scents. I'm unsure why but this is a very 'medical' scent. Notes reminiscent of baby powder, blood, metal, and a slight fresh laundry smell. These scents are Not. Meant. To. Work. Together. They do not mix, they do not coincide, they are complete opposites and that is blatantly obvious and pulled off extremely well. This perfume is a literal battle between wearable, acceptable, loving, and warm, or harsh, sharp, violent, and socially hated. It is this mix (or lack of) that makes Red+MA so unsettling. I never thought a smell could be controversial, but if there is one out there, this is it. I found it interesting to read through other reviews whilst waiting for my bottle of Red+MA to arrive. I found it smelt different to how I expected, so I'm going to write about my thoughts on other reviews here. Sniffenjoyer- for me, I don't really get the cedar base or greenery. Fruity florals, mild lactonic notes, and an astringent but comforting feeling as pretty accurate. cally2- not at all my experience, but lemons seems to be cropping up a lot. For me, it was very fruity but citrus just wasn't a noticeable presence. miss_piggy- absolutely it is. Sharp, harsh, slightly reminiscent of chalkdust and the nurses' office. batabidd- one of the most accurate reviews I've seen (at least to my experience). Cloves was the only note I didn't get. Gileshow- Pretty rough imagery, but yes. You have to be extremely confident and self-assured to pull this off well. Otherwise, you're going to smell like you bathed in condensed milk, spent 6 hours in a brothel, murdered someone, and treated yourself to a quick outing. Put simply: like a bit of a freak. kamilleisamansname- 'but this fragrance really does smell like someone took a bloody piss on an apple pie, complete with a scoop of ice cream on top.' I laughed at this when I read it. I laughed even more when I took a smell of the perfume, on my wrist, and realised this was both scarily and surprisingly accurate. Hopefully this review is useful to someone out there, because a lot of reviews are quite short and everyone's experience with this perfume is seeming wildly different, almost like different groups!! But as another reviewer said, absolutely BUY A SAMPLE. Red+MA is NOT for everyone. It's offensive, it's dirty, it's sinful, but it's warm and sterile and it is innocent. Huge kudos to Blood Concept and the noses behind this perfume, it's unlike any other. If you can pull it off, this is an amazing and wildly unsettling signature scent.

Notes aldehydes,metallic notes, milk accord, cedar, violet leaf, musk, sandalwood Well, well, well... This is much better that you may think. Yes, it does smell synthetic as you may expect, but I adore avant-garde synthetic perfumes. This is a perfume meeting the anti-perfume. A battle of warm and cold. The opening is brutal (if honest), so ferous and sharp-metallic that I can easily taste the "blood" in my mouth. There's aldehydes (lots), metallic note(tons) but not clean as represented in the ABOAB serie. In Red +MA it tends to be a saline, even mineral rusty-like accord if you like, a deja vú of that smell that remains in your hands when you have contact for a while with old, rusty metal. This accord goes hand to hand with the aldehydes, which tones down through the life of this perfume. Now, in my skin I can't really get much the "lactic effect", maybe at the drydown, accompained with the cedar, wich resembles to my nose, like a warm milk smell, but eventually, it turns into a clean, aseptic, "laundry smell" accent, as its little brother "+MA" has. In a nutshell. RED +MA = criminal metallic notes+ clean notes+ creamy floral-ish cedar. Does it smell like blood? Yep, (especially after 1-2 hours of application) but damm yummy blood! Beautiful, a piece of art. Wearable? Yes. Deffo! Get it if you suck for perfumes like the Comme des Garçons avant-garde conceptual launches. PS: I love the polarising, weird, saline, ripe floral spirit of "Secretions Magnifiques" but I do find it hard to wear. Red +MA moves in another direction, as it is surprisly wearable... In fact, I wore it today at work and I had loads of complimets... As I said, surprised! I didn ́t expect this at all!

First review! I'll start saying that I appreciate Blood Concept. They're very creative and original, the concept behind their perfumes (the fact that each fragrance wants to describe a step of the evolution of the human being and all those things) is really intresting, and the packaging is amazing. So when I saw that they made a new perfume, I went crazy! I wanted to try it and see if it was as challenging as the previous other perfumes. I have to say that +Ma was not the best from the line, but it was quite good, like an aseptic gourmand with pure, milky, creamy and clean notes. Not bad. But Red +Ma is so much better! It keeps the aseptic gurmand style of its predecessor, but taking off that strange, artificial smell and adding a more gentle and toothaching note (maybe vanilla) and blending this beautiful accord with the metallic, unmistakeable blood scent. They define it the point of conjuction between innocence and sin. Blood and milk. Better than it doesn't seem.

This fragrance is unlike anything I've ever smelled before! It's definitely intriguing, with a sweet and milky note that contrasts beautifully with something a bit sharper and more metallic. It's surprisingly wearable despite the unusual concept, and it lasts for ages.

It smells a lot like band aids, is very pungent and makes me think of something sweet and rotten. I don't think it smells much like milk or blood. When I got this I was reading 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream', it makes me think of the hellscape depicted in that novel. The aura from this scent is very interesting and special, but makes me a bit sick to wear. I have gotten some comments that it smells like old lady perfume, so to wear it successfully I think you need to complement the rest of your look to match the perfume.

Brought to you by the same nose behind Etat Libre D'Orange's Secretions Magnifiques. This one is arguably even more challenging than SM. Upon application it smells like what I can only describe as a strange mix of apple juice, urine (and not in a Kourous "cat piss" sort of way, I mean the harsh-smelling, deep amber colored urine produced by someone dehydrated), rust, salt, condensed milk, caramel, butter, cinnamon, and the faintest bit of lemon zest. It's awfully sweet, salty, and metallic and only gets slightly better with the drydown. Excuse the unpleasant imagery, but this fragrance really does smell like someone took a bloody piss on an apple pie, complete with a scoop of ice cream on top.

I got a 60 ml that turned out to be a tester, perhaps it explains why it's so weak. Unlike Silver AB this barely radiates from my wrist, it's very soft. The start is somewhat floral, with hints of milk, then it turns into a pale mango. Can't feel any blood or metal in it, on me it's pretty innocent. Upd, sorry, found the unpleasant curdled note, i just didn't think the scent would take a full hour to develop from innocent to unlikable.

I just got this in the mail, from an Ebay seller in Italy who had this and other Blood Concept items listed under cameras/photo, etc.. This was my second purchase from them, so I know the products are authentic. The box was really fun to try to figure out how to open. That was the good part. This smells more awful than Secretions Magnifique. I may be selling decants of this shortly..

it smells like a fresh Egyptian mango that just been picked from the tree. a bit sour, but very mango, not the annoying mango of the first Angel Men perfume, but a very pleasant smell. only the FEW will like it so DO NOT buy it unless you have a sample or try it. it will NOT fit you if you are not the risky or someone who likes to try new things and smells. so again try it before you buy it. although i like to read the description and the inspiration behind the perfumer's creation, but please skip this one and never read it untill you try it first (just as i did) because i got disgusted reading the inspiration behind this perfume which did by itself created some illusions and imaginations even though i already know how it smells. so please neglect the description and go for the SAMPLE first if you are a fan of a sour fresh Egyptian Mango (the Mabruka Mango منجا مبروكة). note: there are 21 kind of egyptian mangos and this one is not the smell of the famous alfonso Mango, but it is the smell of Mabruka mango

So metallic and unusual it beggars belief. The initial blast of aldehydes is weird but not unpleasant and lasting throughout. I can only really identify cedar and maybe some musk in the base but not a lot else. It's mainly about sharp metallic notes which evoke a cold stone or flint accord, with the majority of these fragrances bloody all the way. I don't think it's fair to compare this to Secretions magnifiques in a a negative regard because that is much more offensive than this. I can totally see the connection though, metallic and strange definitely applies to both of them. Red is not as much of a scrubber in my opinion it's fresher sweeter and more playful but still I'd never wear it.

This is definitely a perfume you wear for the sake of perfumery. At first it seems very unfamiliar and unapproachable in its complexity and contrast. (I understand why no notes are listed) However, after the first 30 seconds and a few good whiffs, a few notes do stand out: lemon or some type of citrus, floral accords, and I do smell something like milk, only more metallic. All in all, the overall concept in my opinion is achieved: there is no clear motif, but rather a slew of contrasting notes all vying for dominance; each one cycling onto and off stage without conclusion for the audience. It is frustrating but impressive at the same time, in that it makes the reviewer stop and think rather than simply smell. 8.0/10

The smell of the spice bundle you drop into mulled wine on steroids, were it packed full of mostly cloves. That strong spice makes the scent sharp, which probably heightens the metallic element, which smells like the air that comes off hot metal that has just had water poured over it. I also get a lot of pink pepper and a hint of lemons. It feels more like a Christmas candle scent than one you would wear on your body - but actually pretty nice. I don't get the blood smell at all really. Very strong on me - noticeable strongly for 90 minutes or so, and still smelling it after 6 hours. Interesting.

Just got a sample of this and ELdO Sécrétions Magnifiques today and did a side by side comparison. I much prefer the ELdO offering. In fact, i did not like this one at all. I dont really know how to descibe it but let's just say that i agree with some of the more colourful reviews here. I will give it credit for sillage though, especially since the last Blood Concept sample i tried (Black B) was so weak. At least with this one i could smell something...it's just not something i want to smell again.

This is my first review but I wanted to write one because of how different my experience was with this. Unless it was mislabeled -- unlikely, it was in its original vial with label on -- not unpleasant at all. No blood, no piss, nothing metallic. What I got was lemon. That's it. Phleasant, slightly Pledge-like lemon, perhaps some vanilla. Faint lemon, too. Actually rather nice, if you're into lemon-vanilla dessert scents that disappear after an hour.

Revolting blood, breastmilk, puke. Ideal for those people who like the taste of metal spoons or tin foil against a filling. There is to me a curious and strong note of clove and if you are looking for a totally bizaare clove perfume then you might well like this. Though you'd have to be very, very enigmatic indeed, and self-assured, to pull of smelling so unsettling.

A very weird, sweet, synthetic, clove-like scent. I definitely agree with the reviewer below who said it was like clove. There wasn't anything very seductive about this fragrance. I don't really remember the metallic or blood note in this either.

This freaks me out. I admire the idea behind it but it makes my skin crawl. The metallic note is far too hostile. Utterly unpleasant.
