Alseif

Alseif is another stunner from Boadicea, which although heavily inspired by their classic release Nemer, has some masterful touches that successfully differentiate and elevate it. At its core Alseif and Nemer share that distinctive oud rose blend that results in a clean, diaphanous, gauzy, luxurious smell that is quite extraordinary. Alseif is the more playful one with fruity plum and raspberry open, the dry rose is tempered further here with lush creamy white florals of which magnolia is the standout, before it goes in a more mossy and sensual musky direction as opposed to the woody drydown of Nemer. Its hard to say if they've improved on Nemer as that is already a classic scent, but Alseif does offer a more playful and sensual alternative, that ultimately is more pleasant and satisfying as a whole.

It is a very pleasant scent, though in the first 5-10 min I feel a little fecal scent, but luckily it goes away quickly. Raspberry, rose, oud, musk, these are very noticable on my skin and for a few hours I also feel the moss. It is such scent which doesn't want to hide, it wants to show itself, so it has good projection and its longetivity is really great. Even after 19 hours I felt on my wristle and what surprised me that I felt the raspberry-flowery scent and not the basenotes only. So the most pleasant scent stays until its end and it is a magic for me:)

Alseif opens with rose, saffron and fruits & noticeable is a beautiful plum and oud (oud turns a bit dry and a beautiful incense/ bakhoor like as the scent progresses) I like this much better than Nemer though I don't fully get all the comparisons with Nemer and Celestial. I think it has a vibe that resembles More than words but that phase passes quickly as Alseif's oud starts revealing it's deeper, natural and bakhoor / incence facet. Alseif becomes a beautiful bakhoor scent of saffron, oud and fruity floral in the drydown. Try it.

Alseif is luxury in a bottle, I know it’s pricey but it won’t disappoint you, it has very well refined oud opening alongside floral fruity scent, ylang ylang raspberry and jasmine playing beautifully throughout the end. Geranium,rose and tonka are soo beautifully rounded with oud leaves a sensual trail. It’s mind blowing and very well made fragrance and I am lucky to have in my collection

Alseif is an interesting fragrance that combines an array of fruity notes with a dry oud. The oud is present straight away in the opening, and is initially quite harsh, animalic and almost fecal. Once it’s had the chance to settle however, the sweet fruitiness emerges with raspberry and plum at the forefront, and soft florals of rose, geranium and tuberose. The sweetness is continued and intensified in the dry down as saffron presents itself, in combination with an ambery base and a heavy dose of oakmoss. The oud is still front and centre throughout the life of the scent and remains very slightly fecal. Overall it’s a pleasant scent with high quality materials, and definitely one to try if you like fruity ouds. However, it’s personally not for me and there are far better options from Boadicea in my opinion.

Great and unique scent. However, lasts on skin for 30 min. after that barely a skin scent. Lasts longer on cloth. Not worth the price at all.

Opens with a fruity, saffron'd rose/geranium. The patchouli and oud appears shortly after. The oud itself is woody, clean and not challenging. After a few minutes of wear I detect that the fragrance is mostly a fruity floral oud fragrace. The raspberry and plum have a nice airyness and there's a few florals in here that compliment the fruitiness and the oud. Very pleasant but a bit too feminine for my personal taste. This would be very nice on a partner

Soaked oud, rose, saffron, patchouli and acidic red berries with a classic, slightly smokey 'aswad' arabic profile. Quite pleasant but nothing new.
