One initial spray of Aurica on me and the expression on my wife’s face was priceless, the way she opened her eyes widely and the WOW coming out of her mouth was just memorable. She said “this is the sexiest perfume I’ve smelled on you”, and she demanded that I wear it on a date night we have planned for Saturday. This kind of reaction coming from my wife, which I respectfully consider a beautiful woman of impeccable taste, really speaks to me. ...now let’s talk about the perfume. Created to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Rat, Aurica by Boadicea The Victorious is inexplicably alluring and complex, it reveals such an incredible aura of regality with a bright and electrifying brightness that is hard to describe and praise enough in single words. The scent is like a wind that blows in your direction bringing along the goodness found around the four corners of the world, the fusion of Mediterranean marigold and juicy pineapple laced to a breezy element that smells almost salty marine, running through the floral sensuality of jasmine, rose and ylang, and the exoticism of musk and moss wrapped around amber, vanilla, patchouli and oud. Aurica feels both weightless and gigantic in such way that makes you feel highly elevated and upperclass. Quite probably the sexiest perfume in my collection.

A beautiful, effervescent explosion of fruits and florals with a very faint woodsy note in the background. Overly sweet but a perfect woodsy note balances it. This is a great fragrance. I don't get the comparisons with Aventus except for a tangy pineaple vibe for just a minute nor with the hugely popular mfk 540. Aventus 2015 batches smell of quality ambergris where as Aurica has no ambergris. Aurica is pure sophistication, euphoria, celebration, refinement and the famous, colourful Indian festival of "holi" in a bottle and I got several compliments on wearing this. Pricey? Yep. "Ah.. you smell sooo good" always comes with a hefty tag. A friend could smell this from about 30 feet away. Perhaps high tag is partly justified because its so potent one or two spritz is enough to fill a room and lasts forever on clothes. Do sample it. Do speak to Yulia at Boadicea online, London. I really wanted to hate on this fragrance because it resembles a designer fragrance yet costs the price of a used car. However, I've got to be honest, it smells fantastic and I love it. I purchased a 1.5ml sample from Boadicea two years ago only to leave it in the drawer among the hundreds of other samples I have accumulated (without ever actually trying it). I re-discovered it recently and gave it a few wearings. I seldom receive compliments on my fragrances but this one got me noticed. I enjoyed it so much I decided to pull the trigger on a full bottle. It is the perfect daily driver and is ideal for the office and formal settings. Admittedly the price is somewhat ridiculous but it is without doubt the best fragrance in the "not another f**king pineapple fragrance" genre. 9/10

A friend in the fragrance community loves this stuff. I really really LIKE it. I’ve only worn it about 3-4 times total since I purchased the bottle. Each time I wear it I put up on different aspects of this composition. I sure don’t get any oud as of yet though which is listed in the notes. I love oud so would welcome if but it must be what is holding together these lighter notes and giving it longevity. That dim oud backbone holds the most beautiful marigold note. BTV does marigold so well. Each time I wear this I also like it a little more. This is very hopeful as a few more wearings it will be in my top 10! A great fragrance from the best house in the game..

The reviews of Aurica are horrid. This is one of BtV's very best fragrances!! I'd probably even rank this their 3rd best after Valiant and Hanuman. When I first smelled this, my instant thought was "if the precious metal 'gold' could be represented with a fragrance, this would be the scent of gold. Its absolutely amazing and I am perplexed at the negativity of the other reviews. This is a perfect example of why I always recommend to never take anyone else's word on whether a fragrance is good or not. Its far too subjective a thing to base anything on consensus. Consensus is irrelevant. This is a 10 of 10.

My favorite Boadicea, perhaps favorite fragrance of all time!! Never smelled anything quite like this! Sweet, woody, dynamic, full of depth! Definitely worth sampling! I could see this being a signature scent (despite the price tag) for someone that loves positive attention

After the overwhelming and sweetly complex opening, there’s a more appealing drydown, but ultimately, I’m glad I didn’t spend £825 on this.

Expensive Ultra Male, Not impressed!

So I’ll begin my review by saying this - I DO NOT like this fragrance, at all. BUT, it’s not the type of fragrance I enjoy. For what it does, it’s excellent. This fragrance is very strong, a single spray lasts on my skin for 12+ hours! It has good silage & it doesn’t fill the room but has strong projection that lasts for 7-8 hours. You & anyone around you will get wafts of it. I’d recommend 3 sprays at most. Anymore will be too much. So here is the breakdown of the fragrance - The moment you spray it, you realize it’s pineapple dominant, with ylang ylang giving it a twist. There’s a woodiness in the background from what I assume is the ‘cedar needles’ giving it proper structure. It’s very fruity right off the bat. This lasts for about 20 minutes or so, then the fragrance begins to transition into the mid, which is where it stays for a LONG time. During the transition to the mid, it has that same burnt smell that one detects in BR 540, however, it’s not as sickly sweet in this fragrance & is balanced out with the fruity & floral notes in here. I do not pick out all the listed floral notes individually, and I assume they’re just listed to strike a balance with the oud in there, marigold is the only floral note that’s prominent in the mid. However, I’m still not a fan of it. The oud here is just woody, and if you didn’t know there was oud in there, you’d never guess there was. The pineapple is somewhat dialed down and the cedar transitions into the oud, giving it a more woody characteristic. The balance between woodiness & sweetness is struck quite well. Since this thing is a projection champ, you’ll keep picking up a very burnt woody pineapple every now and then (for the next 7-8 hours or so!) after a while, the amber in the base starts to pop out and the fragrance becomes a tad bit too sweet for my liking... The burnt nature of it comes to the forefront & the pineapple goes to the back. This is how it stays for the majority of its life. I simply cannot stand this DNA at this point, it’s simply too sickly sweet for my taste, but it’s still better than BR 540, which is what it primarily reminds me of. The base has sandalwood along with a hint of vanilla & musk and this is by far the best part of the fragrance for me. Unfortunately by this point it’s all but a skin scent, but as a skin scent, it lasts easily for over 12 hours, on skin.

I really had high hopes for this fragrance. It does perform extremely well (legit 12+ hours which never happens on my skin). But, there's some notes in there that really don't appeal to me. Despite that, it can be pleasant in moments. The opening is the best part of the fragrance. The choice of musk feels very old man b.o. vibes. I thought the pineapple would be more photorealistic/juicy. Pretty disappointed. It feels way overpriced outside of the longevity and sillage, which are seriously impressive--especially for a fresh fragrance. The search for the right pineapple fragrance continues. Taking recs ...

Please, don't spend more than $100 on this fragrance.

Kind of smells like a mess. The musks and florals are harsh. The fruit notes smell synthetic. The rose/oud quality isn't anything you can't find in a $100 fragrance.

Just pineapple bomb, smells like a rich boss. Nice if you can afford. If broke try lattafa qaeed Al fursan, i think is the cheaper brother of it.
