Carbon Sapphire

Featuring one of the most sought after and expensive ouds around the globe known as Oud Assafi, the luxury niche house of Boadicea The Victorious delivers another magnum opus, named after the king of elements “carbon”. I’m going to jump into the summary of what Carbon Sapphire is, even though the creation deserves three pages of high praise. The starting point features Bulgarian rose and rose de Mai radiating a realism that is complimented by the green aromatic freshness of geranium, think of them as real roses, voluptuous with honeyed spicy tones and lemon peel nuances, not your typical over exaggerated artificial interpretations, or your average fruity style. Into the heart, the roses are further elevated by the sweetness of Egyptian jasmine as the star of the show “Oud Assafi” begins to take center stage, showcasing a rich multifaceted aroma with restraint yet noticeable animalic and spicy undertones beautifully enhanced by the supporting woody duet of palisander rosewood and sandalwood giving a sweet creaminess as patchouli and cypriol lend a robust earthy tone to the rare elixir. Carbon Sapphire is rounded by precious amber and musk in the base, completing the construction of this unbelievably smooth and memorable essence.

For me, a perfume must be linked to a beautiful memory, a special date, or a moment that I always want to remember with that smell. That is why the last years I only buy perfumes when I go with my partner to London to celebrate his birthday after getting over a damn cancer, and we go to Harrods to buy and then we enjoy a cup of English tea and a musical at night. Last week we went to the 6th floor in Harrods in the Boadicea store and bought this perfume wonder. I consider the quality to be higher than Blue Sapphire, but even if it wasn't, they were wonderful days to remember and for me, this is worth all the gold at the end of the rainbow, and this I will remember as long as I wear Carbon Sapphire

Ok, so I'm terrible sucker for (literally) ANY rose-oud-saffron combo. And sure, the combo has been done to death by so many noses, but not all of their rose-oud-saffron fragrances stand out let alone smell good. Carbon Sapphire is good, nicely blended, it even has a close similarity to my ever so favourited (and sadly, discontinued) Saudia Blend by ASAQ, and carbon sapphire has become a daily stable in my busy life. (I'm one of those people that change scent throughout the day...multiple times...morning wear, afternoon wear, evening wear and I even use fragrance before going to sleep).

A criterion Rose Oud scent, this is a beautiful crystalline woody floral showcasing an exquisite Rose de Mai. The scent briefly opens with a floral bouquet and some rosewood before going into the heart comprised of the Rose de Mai and slight saffron. The perfume as it settles, retains the central note but also reveals hints of patchouli, sandalwood, oud, amber, synthetic musk, guaiac wood and cypriol. The unisex scent has moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. Quite a luxurious pricey trifle, but worth it for those who are into finer things in life. Enjoy!

Who has lighted the bakhoor here? This beautiful fragrance opens with high quality rose, oud and turns to bakhoor smoke of saffron, oud, florals including one of the best rose, incense etc. Rose burns off slowly after the initial blast and you are left with high quality smoky saffron etc This lasts whole day and then some more. Deep dry down next day became a very good, familiar Arabic scent. Samples are sold on the Boadicea site. Do try a sample. Easily 10/10 .

I smelled this in Harrods last summer and i was very gutted that i did not purchase this gem then!! I sprayed this on the sleeve of my suit and traveled the next day. After a week i wore the same suit and can still smell the impeccable scent of Bokhour from Carbon Sapphire in my sleeve ! This smells exactly like burning Oud. It's only sold in Harrods now and will be sold across the world in the begging of 2021. I can't wait that long! ★★★★★

This is the one that should've been called straight to heaven. Yes its a "rose-oud" fragrance but "oh my goooodness. " If you really know the role rosewood played in alexandria ii by xerjoff or even the rosewood in oud wood by tomford, there is an atomic level (super saiyan level) palisander rosewood as well in this mix. It's a 100% fragrance.AKA Perfect! 10/10

I love this, I’m terrible at describing notes etc but it’s dark with a warm light. It smells rich. I can’t help spraying it on my chest and getting warm out of this world wafts all day:-)

Of the perfumes from use to use I love them more and more. So high quality and cuddly. Not for everyone, not for blind buying. 9.5/10.

The best boadicia, hands down. This stuff is incredible

So glad I saved myself from spending 700+ on a blind buy bottle.I purchased a decant instead. While it’s okay at best I just can’t get on board with the overboard of floral scents. This is definitely leaning more fem than unisex imho same goes for Dasman. So far I’ve sampled 3 scents from boadicea not one of those price points are justifiable.

So I have not tried this scent yet. I just really had to say that people on here trying to argue fragrances aren't worth the price really don't understand what they are talking about. Let's start with the gentleman beneath me. If he is stating roja is Cheaper he must be speaking on the colognes, because the edp's are the same price. But there's colognes are 350 dollars and are 10 to 15 percent concentration. There edp's are only around 20 to 25 percent and are the same price as the Sapphire collection. Upon request from the perfumer I was able to discover the entire Sapphire line IS 40 PERCENT CONCENTRATION PURE PERFUME OIL. If you are reading this and are anything like me and must have high concentrations to have anything that really lasts. Then this is well worth the money. I own blue and aqua Sapphire and they last all day and even after a full shower I can smell them. Anyways I would like a bottle of this if anyone wants to trade or any other from the Sapphire line I would make a deal.

Carbon Sapphire starts with a beautiful combination of sweet Bulgarian rose and saffron and then they are joined by jasmine. After a couple of minutes, the oud and cypriol start appearing, the oud here is not fecal or barnyardy but smoky. At this stage, the scent smells exactly like bukhoor burning on top of a charcoal disk and I dont mean oud chips by themselves but oud chips blended with other perfume oils. The bukhoor scent lasts for a long time and in the late drydown, the scent becomes woodier. Also, it becomes warmer due to the amber with a green touch from patchouli and cypriol. Overall, Carbon Sapphire is a beautiful rose oud with a very high quality materials and strong performance. I like the way in which the bukhoor scent has been captured but if you are from the middle east, you will immediately recognize this scent profile because it is familiar.

Mr zayas is on an absolute higher level than me when it comes to fragrances and he is one of my absolute favorite fragrance reviewers on youtube, he nailed it with the description of this fragrance 100%, But, i cannot get past something, this is an 800$ fragrance and i tested it on me like 2 weeks in a row + on another 5 of my friends skin and clothes, I love it, it is spectacular, but guess what, IT SMELLS LIKE BLACK AOUD FROM MONTALE!!!, i thought i was crazy , and it is like they extracted that scent and put it on a boadicea bottle, maybe the rose smells more natural and fresh, yes, but to me it is still black aoud, which i love it , but if you own that one and think of getting carbon, test it first.

A great oud rose. Very well blended with natural ingredients Is it unique? Nope Is it new? Nope Is it worth $700 for 100 ml? In my opinion absolutely not. Not even $400. $350 would be my price for it There are things that smell 95% the same with a fraction of the cost.

Ok fragrance greatly overpriced as most of the boadicea line I can get better offerings from roja or krigler for the price scent I would rank a 6.9 i would rather buy some widian or unique luxury and save my money

High quality, citrusy rose and leathery oud transforming into a honeyed amber scent pretty quickly. One of the better Boadiceas.

$900? For a balsamic rose fragrance?
