Chelsea

Before anyone kicks off...I did the note votes and yes I have tried this fragrance. I have to say Chelsea is insanely high quality juice you can tell from the moment you apply it that it is industrially strong. As such the opening is a mental mixture of dense woods, the first of which is Oud and it hits you straight away. Baring in mind I had no idea what to expect or what any of the notes were going to be and oud and vetiver became instantly apparent. Such an unusual combo along with a little citrus spices of cardamom and resinous ambery vibes Chelsea is nothing short of exquisite. Opens quite harshly and remains that way for a couple of hours or so, then becomes more gentle and addictive in the heart then deep into the dry down it's warm & woody. Longevity and projection are epic. Despite the praise this still isn't quite my cup o tea but I would definitely wear it. The quality is undeniable and it was an olfactory experience I will not forget in a hurry. Perfume lovers you need to try this!

One of the drier renditions of oud, Chelsea is intriguing and very alluring. There's a bit of a rough texture about this perfume, tactile, purposeful. It makes you want to keep sniffing, much like the constant stroking of a purring cat curled up contentedly in one's lap. Vetiver delivers an earthy rootiness; cedar, some clean aromatic vapor; and patchouli a touch of woody sweetness. The whole composition smells like rich, fertile soil where an abundance of sweet carrots have been growing. There's also a hint of dark leathery greens with a bit of a phenolic feel. Mineral-rich mulchy woods and clean fur... I'm digging this!

I agree with Houdini's review below me. This is a powerhouse oud and vetiver that is something like Montale's Original Aoud or Kilian's Pure Oud, but dialed up to 11. While the quality does seem high, in general, there is an abundance of some dry woody synthetics that might scare some off. Still, fans of hardcore and raw oud (and earthy and brown vetivers, like those of the indian and java variety moreso than Haitian) should sample this one.

One more note in addition to my last review - another frag that is an oudy, campfire-y powerhouse like this (and much cheaper) is "Campfire Rebel" by Pinrose. It's a great scent, as are the other Pinrose scents I've tried - especially Moonlight Gypsy which is like Fleur Du Male crossed with L de Lolita Lempicka's cinnamon/praline accord. Anyhow, I would highly advise a quick sample of Campfire Rebel before purchasing this.

This is an intense arabic style fragrance with the major notes being oud and vetiver. This fragrance smells very reminiscent of Bokhour. I like it. ★★★☆☆

Having spent some time with this fragrance now, I have bene on a roller coaster. The first time I wore it, it smelled like burnt...something like a leather jacket you burned the cuff of. It was strange and unpleasant. It has grown on me a bit though and every time I wear it, I get something different from it: which is not a good thing. I don't want to play a guessing game with how a scent will play every time I pick the bottle up. Mostly though I get a birch and hay vibe that manages to not be too dry but doesn't have a cloying dampness. It's a nice scent and I enjoy it-despite everything but for it's price? I could never justify a full bottle. Scent: 6/10 nice, but not consistent though it does smell very unique. Projection: 3/10 very disappointing for this level of niche and price. Sillage: 3/10 same problem Longevity: 5/10 it does not last long on my skin and after the 2 hour mark, it is pretty much only a skin scent from then on. Would I buy a full bottle: no. At $100 maybe because it only has average to below average designer fragrance performance and that isn't acceptable at it's retail pricing.

Pretty much smells like an inspiration of Jovoy Private Label and PdM Byerley (which is also itself probably an inspiration from the Jovoy? lol). Not a bad smell, can see it smelling SUPER WEIRD to people not in the hobby. She didn't like how it smells, ha. Recommend Private Label over this one. Like a strong 'harsh' dry vetiver + papyrus or something?

It's sweet gluey rubber. There are violets, glue, paint, & patchouli. It's quite unique and very interesting to be specific as the glue is playing that huge part. Impressive.
