Glorious

I received this in a trade a few days ago and I'm very happy with it. I have avoided fruity fragrances in the past because they tend to lean screechy or harsh, but this is probably the smoothest fragrance I've smelt. The fruits are all blended into one big bowl and the musk and woods dance around it. I get something resinous grounding the fragrance, making it almost dark with the guiac wood and resins. But, its still very much light enough for summer. The projection is almost ephemeral. It starts off intimate but it gets stronger the more you wear this. I haven't been able to get a good mark on longevity, but I could smell it faintly on my hand after 7 hours. I do go noseblind to these kinds of scents quickly. This is a 9.5/10 in my books, its an easy reach that feels darker on cooler days and brightens up on warmer days. It doesn't choke people out and it's one of those ones that puts a big smile on my face when I smell it.

An explosion of fruit this one. A plummy, jammy mixture of fruits in the top notes instantly make me like this, I'm such a sucker for that. I love Boadicea the victorious they can do no wrong in my eyes, I've tried about 12 in their vast range of fragrances and every single one has been great. I know there must be at least some not to my taste at least but I've not come across them yet. Similar to Amouage the fragrances seem complex yet crowd pleasing especially these fruity affairs. The base is woody to my nose a smooth mixture of notes oakmoss, sandalwood, patchouli, amber and musk. I love Glorius, sure it's maybe seen as just another fruity musk fragrance and maybe a little on the feminine side to some but I think it's lovely and very wearable totally unisex to me. It's got class and complexity in my opinion and lasting strength.

I can understand why people are disappointed with this parfum, but... For me it was a blind buy, I would say - I hadn’t tried it on my skin before I’ve bought it. So the 1st time I used it, I didn’t feel nothing after 10 minutes and I thought the overviews were right. But I gave it a chance. The 2nd time it was a little bit better - I felt it slightly but for a half of the day, and my colleague gave me a compliment saying that I smelled nice. I gave a parfum around 1 month for just “becoming stronger”. And now when I use it I feel it good, and it stays with me for more than 6 hours. It’s fresh, bitter citruses, green aromatic herbs. Very clean, elegant, unisex. I use it now being in a Nordic country and it suits the snow and low temperatures. But I'm looking forward for trying it in spring and summer :)

I love reading reviews and how different people find the same scents. This one for me really is glorious. It's fruity but not too jammy and not screechy or harsh at all. For me it has great projection, It lasts a good while on me as well.. I don't like an obnoxious perfume that everyone can smell where you've been, I like scent to surround me and give me joy all day, and perhaps garner a compliment from people who walk by me, not overwhelm every space I occupy and beyond, which unfortunately is one of the downsides of scents with too much longevity and projection. I can still smell Glorious hours later on my wrist though, it's just a bit quieter after a couple of hours.

I can't believe so many dislike this one! How could you comare this to D&G's The One? This is so much more coy, so much more complex. She's only been on my skin for a few minutes, but this is truly a goddess scent. She balances wood, cardamum, fruit, sweetness and delicate florals so seamlessly, and there's some deeply resinous aspects creeping in--this is for a queen. TAKE MY MONEY. Okay, maybe I should way for dry down, lol. Update: It's still lovely, moody, the fruity-floral woman who is mature and chic. Literally going to buy a full bottle I think this is so unique and amazing.

Glorious is an apt name. The scent is felicitous and divine. Blending-wise, they somehow made the fruits not too tropical or overtly nauseating to mix with the woods so well. During the course of the scent I mainly get fruits with brilliant cedar/gauiac. P.S. the florals are no joke in this either. I'm sure this has been reformulated. I was able to snag the last 50ml at a perfume shop in Miami. The owner told me Boadicea is not producing 50ml for the American market anymore. That is why my batch has good performance as it's prob pre-reform.

Smells really good, particularly the opening raspberry cassis combo mixed with nutmeg and elemi. The base notes hit the mark too with a variety of woods, musks, and a light touch of patchouli and amber. I smelled this and thought to myself finally, a Bodicea that I like that is original (to my nose). I went about my day and in a couple hours it was pretty much gone. Bummer. Scent is great but performance sucks. ------------------------------------ Scent 8/10 Performance 3/10

Fruity, unconventional, and sexy! Glorious is my first purchase from Boadicea The Victorious and I'm looking forward to experiencing more from this house. To be honest, I'm utterly shocked that I fell for this because normally I shy away from fruity fragrances. I find some of them to be too G-rated for my tastes. Glorious on the other hand, is the perfect balance of fruits and spices. Cardamom adds warmth and depth to the fragrance, and I'm a big fan of the outcome. A+!

First impression: A pineapple that doesn't get compared to Aventus...Hallelujah! The scent itself is good but it's light and dare I say, a little boring. Into the drydown and it smells like a slightly powdery, slightly sweet, anti perfume skin scent. It's nice (when you can smell it) but you'd need to be crazy to pay full retail for this. You will forget you sprayed it on yourself after 10 minutes. Good yes, glorious no. Overpriced = definitely. Scent 6/10

Finally got this in and have been wearing it all day. No comments but a frw people smelled it from the bottle and all 3 liked it and one wanted to oreder it. Very Fruity and I can pick it up on myself for about 4 hours but after that, I cant. It is either not strong enough to go past the hour mark or....it may be cloying and others may be able to pick it up on me and I cant. I love it but to early at this time to determine it's strength.

It’s really beautiful perfume. I can’t find any powdery notes honestly. For me it’s a little bit citrusy top with raspberries and woody resin base. Can be uni sex with manly vibes. 10/10 for sure. Any season with pretty good longevity and sillage. Summer season only at lower heat or evening

This is a beautiful fragrance without the beat someone over the head quality that comes with spicy, powerful scents so frequently. I love it more and more every time I smell it. It has a cool spiciness to it that I find very appealing. I don't really get any fruit in it at all!

this is my very first taste of this House and dare i say this? this is a lot like aventus and scent of peace for Him, obviously not a clone. opening lovely cardamom, drydown is pineapple apple and blackcurrant, its long lasting, love it 10/10 for quality

#34 on my Fragrance Review Journey I went back and forth on this fragrance and Bodacious. They were both priced around the same. I decided to go with this as I wanted another spring/summer scent. As some others have mentioned, this is a very light fragrance. So much so, I thought I had immediately gone nose blind. This was not the case. This is a scent that does not project. It sits close to the skin. Overspraying won't help much. It has never gone on to become stronger. There is a faint smell of something fruity and mild woods in the beginning. It eventually fades into nothingness. I see votes for eternal longevity and strong or enormous sillage. No way is this my bottle. I cannot see how this is possible unless there are inconsistent batch issues. Nonetheless, I would strongly advise a sample or decant before purchasing. I got it for $150, which should be a good deal; however, the performance is lacking for me. Side note: I have Ardent and it is amazing. No issues whatsoever. Do your homework and good luck. Perhaps your experience will be magnificent... I hope so. ***Edit 5-24-26*** After further consideration, I believe this fragrance offers some unique versatility. For those instances where you don't need beast mode or any room filling fragrances, this fits that bill. You can wear this confidently to client meetings or any other intimate settings where you want to be inoffensive. After smelling this on my wife, it has certainly increased my likability of the fragrance. I would still suggest that you get a sample of it if possible.

I do love the overall well rounded fruitiness of this blend, though less convinced by a slight car tyre smell that sneaks in from somewhere in the dry down.. but at least it really is slight. I do like it very much, I still give it a good 8/10. Even so, and as much as i like it, i would still not say this is a safe blind buy - It's a top end price point so I'd advise a tester first, if only to guard against a possible costly mistake.

To my nose one of the best openings I've ever smelled on a fruity perfume, however very fleeting. If this would have longevity and more projection I could see this being one of my favorites, but the longevity factor is a really hard pill to swallow. I get 2 hours and it's gone. A glorious two hours none the less. Would have love to smell this pre reformulation.

A very underrated fragrance. It smells very good, and you can get it for a good price. 3-season fragrance for sure!

Mine looks clear. Not too sweet or floral, has a soft spice thing going on. Unisex and pleasant.

This is a tough one to review, because you can barely smell it. It goes on light and stays a skin scent. Projection and longevity are dismal. What I can detect is a mixture of natural woods with the slight hint of mixed fruits. Not one specific note comes to mind, but instead, a well blended formula. What is detected is actually really nice, there just isn’t enough of it there. In all fairness, not very many fragrances are beast mode on my skin. Because of the delicateness and inoffensiveness, Glorious could be a good office choice. I definitely would not pay retail for it, but you should be able to find it for a fair price at discounters. I do love the Boadicea atomizers - maybe the best in the game. Again, it’s not a bad option if you don’t require much projection, but maybe try Bond No 9 Scent of Peace for Him; I think the later is a better option in the same genre. Overall 6.3/10.

It's a nice scent, but I tried it twice on my skin and on my daughter's skin, and it didn't last 2 hours every time. And it doesn't project at all. Just on terms of performance, this perfume is not FB worthy. But considering the price tag, this performance is offensive. Do not recommend blind buying, check if it lasts on your skin first. Also, in the same scent profile you can find many other perfumes that perform better and are way cheaper like Angel Nova.

Revisiting this bottle after well over two years. The pineapple note has turned into fruity note and the woodyness remained the same. Maceration seem to have done nothing for this perfume. This might even be lighter than Another 13. If you’re into extremely light skin scent then this one may be for you, if you got the reformulated version. The original version, I was told, lived up to its name. @Liquidasset77 yes this should be recalled indeed

Got my bottle and the first spray was... meh!?! I smell some pineapple and woody notes but that’s about it! What’s so Glorious about that? Nice pineapple that doesn’t bring to mind of Aventus though.Then reading through the reviews, I understand that mine’s a reformulated batch since it’s pale yellow, almost lacking in colour. This is an okay perfume if you enjoy woody pineappleish perfume.

I got a tester and couldn't detect any fragrance on my skin after spraying multiple times.

Beware, it seems this was reformulated? My bottle's contents are very pale, almost white. Not red or even red-tinted like some people are describing. It has almost no scent. It hits the skin smelling like some subtle resins and woods, maybe a little fruit. It is certainly not syrupy, spicy, and there is zero jasmine in it. The heart is supposed to contain jasmine, trust me there is ZERO jasmine or sweet syrup in the pale liquid. It is totally linear, and frankly just smells like some woody aromachemicals. What a pity if it was reformulated because it sounded so beautiful. But honestly, this is not the quality that I have come to expect from this house. One thing they never lack is quality! And this is beyond sub-par.

Sometimes I sample a perfume and I have to go back and look at its description again, wondering, "have I picked up the wrong bottle?" This is one of those times. I do not get an initial "explosion of fruit", I got a blast of camphor - like the old wooden chest my mother keeps fabric in crossed with Vick's Vaporub. There is something sweet going on there but I'm so overwhelmed by that eyewatering medicinal resin scent, I can't distinguish any notes. The dry down is more mild, settling into a very masculine, funky wood. I'm not sure who this perfume is for but sadly, it is not for me.

Translucent cedar and guaiac bring about a bland wody tone, fruits are flat and ephemeral, floral heart is dull and none descript. Yes Boadicea let this one fade into obscurity, you are doing your brand an injustice by releasing this muddled aromachemical and call it perfume. DONE! Yes i have the Pale yellow formula. The first perfume that should be recalled for sake of saving a company's reputation..

Reminds me of an early 2010's Adidas deodorant I once tried. For the price? A joke.

Glorious could and should have been a stunner. Glorious, per say maybe(!) The trick for this one is maybe to spray from afar. You get just what the note list says, which is always a good thing if you go by that first. But there's no beating round the bush here - you have to like fruits and sweetness and a tonne more fruits as this is a total bomb of it. Gallons of syrup. The other problem I have is actually with the elemi (resin) - for me, it's strange 'airy spicy' element while most likely intended to, adds a distinct 'medieval' fell to the composition and just comes off amplifying the 'transparent' side of things to being unbalanced. This could also be as a result of the cardamom too, boosting the spicy green facets. But for me, it just juxtaposes oddly with the lush, overripe fruit bowl. They should have kept the theme strictly 'summer picnic' and not tossed the spicy curve balls in there for this one, I dunno - a fruit salad doesn't normally have a heap of cardamom tossed in does it? It's sad because here, straight amber or ambergris would have weighed down things far better. Also, speaking of imbalance - back to the fruitplosion! Picture a 'nice' version of Byredo's Pulp - the problm is here it simply becomes far too cloying and overbearing because what little wood/amber/other things are in there, struggle to display themselves. All in all, it's initilly very nice (love the apple Bodecia does so amazingly well) but needed tempering - and balance to be considered an all-rounder 'signature' purchase - and the excessive elemi. So it falls short for me. But considered as a totally feminine scent, this could be a winner. Try Monarch for a 1/10 of the fruit and much more woods; a far more balanced take on things. My rating: 6/10. (7/10 on some wears where fruit/elemi is lesser) Quality: 9/10.

It's forceful, it's feminine, it's fragrant: It's Queen Boadicea of the ancient Britons! Ignore her murderous rages and fearsomely unwashed druid advisors, lift up your noses and breathe deep; Stone Henge never smelled so good! It tickles me to imagine some six foot red haired Celtazon checking the daggers on her chariot wheels, presiding at the sacrifice of a few Roman captives, then leading her armies to bloody rampage from Colchester to London, pausing to dab a little 'Glorious' behind her ears wrists and knees ,just in case she runs into Caeser. Two minutes alone in her perfumed presence and it'll be 'Cleopatra who?' and the rebranding of our Iceni Queen as Empress of Rome. Sassy! Well, maybe. 'Glorious' is a little rounder and more ordinary than Femininite Du Bois, the utterly beautiful Serge Lutens creation it resembles. The top notes in the Lutens fragrance are rather more delicate and subtle. Glorious starts off as a pleasant floral in a bottle that looks as though it should house Scottish whisky. Then it goes through hours of being nice but not exactly battle-turning. But here's the loveliness of it; something like 8 hours after I tested, my wrist has a distinct and very alluring scent of sandalwood and jasmine. Just perfect for an after pillage toga party!

I don't see plum listed in the note breakdown, but it smells to me, like my very favorite fragrance: tom ford, plum japonais. Glorious is certainly softer, but I get a very jammy-dark vibe. I do not smell pineapple. I would think this would be much better suited for the winter. To me, its a very cozy and comfortable scent. EDIT So I sprayed this yesterday eve. it had been a long time since i'd worn it! It does smell like plum japonais - but i noticed that after about 2 hours, i smell oud. I definitely don't smell oud in plum japonais, so i think it's important to clarify that this does indeed divert towards a different direction as it progresses. it's a great scent - but it wears me out quickly because it's so jammy and intense. 7/10

The opening is chamomile, fresh, sunlit, though it’s nowhere in the notes. Then comes a sharp pineapple tangled with raspberry, gradually melting together into a dusting of sugar, blending and softening into a single, muted sweetness with a spicy wisp of nutmeg. The base is tender, clean musk - comforting, like a fluffy white towel after a bath. No suffocating synthetics, no jarring transitions, everything morphs with ease, moves smoothly, like natural light shifting throughout the day. In a world of hamburgers, this is fresh truffle pasta. Projection could be better.

I was really looking forward to trying this perfume. The bottle and the packaging give you the impression that you are about to experience something extraordinary and after applying one spritz on my skin I can confirm that I have never been more disappointed with a perfume as much I was disappointed with Glorious. This perfume is just too sweet, i find it unbearable i am a big fan of sweet perfumes. I actually felt sick after about 15 minutes. I sprayed about 3 hours ago and it is still very strong, so it definitely rates highly on the longevity front.

This is white floral experienced through a loose purple floral membrane. The two worlds are rendered through each other and the end product is something that doesn't really feel like either of the two. It's jasmine without the indole and rose without the sweet. Like orange juice mixed with milk, or coke mixed with ice cream, it's something completely new. I like how this smells but I would never ever wear it myself. This fruity white-purple floral is something else. Very unique.

This is almost as if you open a cedar chest filled with spicy dried fruits. Hints of the sweeter, ripe fruit tease through the drydown, which is filled with hearty moss and shaded woods. There is something extremely familiar about this scent, circa 1990's and it's driving me crazy because it may be the one thing that is turning my nose off. Great quality fragrance and no doubt alluring, but I think I'd prefer this on a man as it has a rugged exterior on the whole.

So many question marks over this one regarding performance. When you wear it, it’s like it’s not even there. But wait, I received one of the strongest compliments I’ve ever had while wearing this. And at the time I could no longer perceive it. But the people in the room said it was the most amazing smell whenever I walked past. Don’t ever think you can trust your nose to smell something. Okay here comes my first negative review! @Aveparfum is Absolutely Right!!! My bottle is the same, even with 10 sprays I smell almost nothing!! It doesnt look or smell like what everyone’s describing. Definitely definitely reformulated! Pale white fluid that just smells like very very light blend of tea, fruits and woods. What a waste of money!! Never buying from this house again, seriously, Boadicea you suck.

It’s a sneaky one. When you first spray it’s not really noticeable at all, and then as it dries down it becomes stronger and stronger, and you get whiffs all day. The long dry down skin scent it gives you is great too, if you like that kind of effect. I think it’s masterfully blended and smooth. Great for people who find other fruity scents like Erba Pura and the like too sharp and abrasive.

I love this scent so much.. i've worn this to 2 special events and i've absolutely drowned myself in it but sadly everything about this fragrance is awful except from the scent. The scent is beautiful but everything else about it is utter trash. Longevity is atrocious sillage is non existent i sprayed around 20 sprays of this its just an instant skin scent.

the bottle in the pic looks amazing, and if you sample this and love it..of course it would be worth the hefty price. But as for me...I'm glad I only have a sample because this is a bit jumbled. starts off like a fruit store and becomes very cloying due to I guess the moss and wood. not long after the sillage gets very poor, and it didn't last on me.

Can't lie I literally smell Creed Original Santal. Like I can spray them side by side and that sandalwood just pops on my skin. This one is notably fruitier though in the opening which I do enjoy but the dry down unfortunately smells too similar to original santal for me to warrant a purchase of this. Still a nice unisex sandalwood scent though

This is nice, high quality. Its very floral, powdery and feminine. It has a classic vib, like an 80's fragrance. There is something rubbery, that I've smelled in old classics, that's not so appealing for me. Rating: 7/10 Only one name given under heaven, by which we must be saved. John 3:16

now THIS is a jammy fragrance that doesn't smell like food or toilet cleaner or a scented candle. the apple is really beautiful and the dry down is so soft and powdery.
