Green Sapphire

I have done multiple tests with Amouage Epic Man, Boadicea The Victorious Green Sapphire, and this fragrance Fragrance World Green Sapphire all worn at the same time on different but comparable parts of my body. I find these to be the three most similar in notes and scent profile. Here’s how they compare Longevity: longest to weakest 1) BTV Green Sapphire 2) Amouage Epic Man (very close) 3) FW Green Sapphire (distant third) Cost: cheapest to most expensive 1) FW Green Sapphire (easily the cheapest and best budget pick) 2) Amouage Epic Man (easily found 120-180 USD. Very fair price) 3) BTV Green Sapphire (you pay for premium and this is as premium as it gets) Performance and Sillage: strongest to weakest 1) BTV Green Sapphire (monstrous) 2) Amouage Epic Man (beastly but slightly below BTV) 3) FW Green Sapphire Detailed review: - Fragrance World: initially has a very strong Sillage and projects the first 20-30 minutes. It is a strong green pine and moss accord early that is beautiful and captivating. Soon thereafter the green notes subside but don’t disappear. The sandalwood and cedar comes to the forefront and there is a beautiful green smooth creamy woods. In the deep dry down (about 5-6 hours) there is a sweet nutty spicy saffron that takes over but it still holds on to the green woods throughout. - Amouage Epic Man: masculine earthy chypre with a dirty spicy earthy woods. Mesmerizing burst of spice with earthy green to open that projects very well. As it goes into the mid the spices most notably the pink pepper and nutmeg subside and the woods from sandalwood and cedar come to surface and take the reigns. There is still strong performance about 3-4 hours in but this is when it goes from projecting to more close to a personal bubble, but not quite skin scent. It is still mossy patchouli earth green with myrrh in the mid, less spice more gentle. In the deep dry down dry down about 7-10 hours the woods becomes extremely creamy but the earthy patchouli turns slightly chocolate and mixes well with the sandalwood. I live for the deep dry down - BTV Green Sapphire: starts very pine and coniferous. Has some incense and smoke that makes a very strong opening. Not repulsive but not what you'd expect based on most reviews. I get a light raspberry that softens the initial pungency. About 10-15 minutes in the coniferous notes settle and the Raspberry balances it out. There is a saffron that begins to emerge that adds what smells to me Almost nutty to make a combination sweet green nutty accord that is drop intoxicating. From about 30 minutes in to about 7 hours these notes dances and project like a delicate symphony each playing their part then returning to below the surface only to rise again later. To a passerby it's as though wealth itself is announcing its arrival. The projection is sneaky on this as I didn't even realize I had a scent but people nearby would frequently stop me to ask what I was wearing. For some reason it was often female who would be drawn by this. The dry down lasts 7-12 hours and sometimes beyond depending how active I am. It is the same balanced symphony with more of the spiced woods and less pine and raspberry. It's pure magic what this perfume does to the nose Conclusion: Each one is worthy to own. If I were to compare the FW Green Sapphire is closer to Amouage Epic Man than BTV. The FW Green Sapphire is the easy blind reach, any occasion, easy and cheap but still well appreciated. The Amouage is more formal but can be used for work settings if sprayed lightly. The BTV is for serious and only formal encounters. I can see it being too much in casual settings and making you seem out of place

Cost aside, the scent is fantastic. Opening has some saffron, vetiver, and raspberry, but that doesn't last and the drydown comes quickly. The vetiver stays, and the sandalwood, musk and cashmere arrive. Very masculine and dense, but at the same time light. It's not flamboyant and doesn't shout, it's got a quiet confidence about it. I can't think of anything that smells like this in perfumery and it's difficult to describe, but I'm going to give it a shot. Have you ever been to the greenhouse section of home depot? It smells like that (green plants and grasses (vetiver), potting soil (vetiver roots and violet),outdoors (oud and musk) and processed lumber (sandalwood and cedar). Now imagine luxurious versions of these things I've described. I know it's a strange description, but that's the best way I can describe it. -------------------------------------------------------- Wonderful masculine scent with heart stopping price. I can see why some don't understand it, but I think it's great. Scent 9/10 Performance TBD

Point blank, my favorite woody scent followed by Kilian Sacred Wood. Green Sapphire is a phenomenally regal woody scent that smells like Flagship offering. To my nose Sandalwood, cashmeran, violet and raspberry carry the scent. Other woods like cedar and agar join the party later on in the heart and base but act more like spices on food than the actual dish. The cashmeran used here amplifies the "creamy" feel of the sandal to a large extent and IMO is a great combination. The violet and berry add facets to the scent that make it 3D and not overly simple, which is okay, that most wood dominant scents tend to come off as. Performance wise this stuff is very powerful and diffuses in the air with ease so it will most definitely fill up a room if over applied. Brest sprayed to the back of the neck or any area away from the front as it will cause the nose to go agnostic to the creamy aspect/illusion of the wood which elevates this above all other wood dominant scents I have ever come across. 10/10

This is a really interesting piece. The opening moved through stages of 'gasoline' violet leaf, 'leather' saffron and juicy sweet raspberry - a TF Tuscan Leather opening, no less! Those elements then danced and intermingled until the journey revealed the core of fragrance towards the end. First impressions were that it resembled more a Leather Woody rather than an Amber or Oriental Woody, until further wear into the late dry down revealed it to be what the maker says it is - raspberry, pine and oud. That's possibly why it might seem challenging to some I think (nuclear performance aside). Although this leans unashamedly masculine in my view, a bold and edgy woman could easily nail this, in leathers, if the fragrance is seen from that perspective; a softer, woodier, more powdery, and more versatile Tuscan Leather. Superbly versatile and addictive. 2 sprays only, maybe 3, indeed. I just wish it came in 50mL. Enjoy!

Had a hard time at the begining with this fragrance and did not like it at all regretting that I blind bought it. After few wearings something clicked finally. It's super woody fragrance, I dont see it on a female unless you are type of boss bitch or CEO than maybe. Everything is blended to perfection like every higher Boadicea tier fragrance, its hard to pick up the notes but I don't smell any rasperry at all at least not from sweet side. Performance for this type of fragrance is amazing, first 2 hours it project's like crazy than becoming weaker and sit closer but still is detectable. Longevity full day, on clothes its 1 month at least(did not test if more because I had to wash the shirt but even after 1 month it was saf) Scent: 9 Performance: 8 Longevity: 10 Price: 5 - well Boadicea is overpriced everyone knows that but better to buy 1 Green Sapphire than few other's which you will not fully use anyway

I got my full bottle today. I have always loved Green Sapphire from the moment I smelled it. I passed it on for Blue Sapphire some days ago but returned for it today because it is unlike anything in my collection. It opens creamy green... violet and raspberry with hints of oudy forest floor smell. Then comes the pine and cashmere in the middle. Like freshly washed wool. It dries to dense woods. Like shaved pencils (the cedar wood) and creamy musky oud (sandal wood, musk and oud). This website missed some notes in this perfume. Visit the Boadicea website for the complete notes (Oud, vanilla, patchouli, musk and amber are listed in the base notes). Lasts super long for days on the paper strip I tested it on again and brought home last week. 9/10 (It would have been a 10/10 if not for the super high price and soft projection). My new signature perfume.....sorry Amouage King Blue and Outlands

Probably the best green fragrance I've ever smelled. First test spray I picked up on the raspberry but my friend didn't. I got a petrol violet vibe too which I love. Gets a bit piney yet retains some sweetness. The violet transitions to a slight powdery vibe but not overly. It gets creamy from sandalwood yet retains dryness from the cedar. Very pleasant. Not beast mode projection but friend thought so. Longevity is good. It's a gorgeous green fragrance - I heard it was labled the middle Eastern GIT... I can see that but the oud is far in the background and it's soft.

Green Sapphire was my first bottle from Boadicea and has become a special piece in my collection. I was initially underwhelmed by the scent but this really grows on you. It is a charming fragrance. A woody backbone cloaked in piney cashmere carrying a soft air of sweetness from the raspberry. The performance took me by surprise. I sprayed it once in the air in my room before bed, woke up in the middle of the night and was shocked at how strong the scent was radiating. This has become a favourite. Simple, mature and classy.

@Hadi Koko That's interesting because I swear Boadicea's website didn't have vanilla and patchoulli in the pyramid at the time I had purchased a few years ago. Can't say I read any vanilla at all in my bottle, or patchoulli, although the latter could always be enmeshed in that green, woody profile I suppose. I wouldn't say the opening on my version is creamy in any way either. Cashmere is there definitely. Be interesting to see if they've reformulated things.

Sleeky blended Vetiver and Violet opening ( with a hint of Pine Needle ) sliding down into the cashmere base. Throughout the mid to base there is a tangy cedar note similar to the one on Penhaligons Halfeti Cedar. Not quite the powerhouse I expected though. Does well for a couple of hours but then a skin scent for 4-5 more. Very lovely, very pricey. Honestly, try Rogue Perfumery Fougere L'Aube at 1/10th the price. Same wheelhouse, decent performance.

I don't know what fragrance some of these "reviews" are referring too. For me this was a monster for both over the top compliments and reactions then performance. I mean don't buy it if you don't want strange beautiful women and genuinely curious guys to ask you "what's the name of the fragrance you're wearing!" Seriously though the responses even surprised me. And, yes I do love wearing this one. I won Valiant, BS, Almas, Nemer, and GS.

Am I the only one who smells the raspberry and wood together and picture a wine barrel? Like one that had carried a pinot noir or malbec, just a deep berry soaked into this now very aged and dry wood. A good olfactive experience if I ever did have one.

Get some samples. Then decide for yourself if you are ok with the price point. However, the fragrance itself is outstanding. The opening is very lively but the dry down is where you get the magic. Definitely worth the price of a couple samples.

What I imagine opulence would smell like. A truly beautiful culmination of oud, raspberry, cedar, saffron and cashmere to my nose. A fantastic fragrance for 3 out of 4 seasons that smells like absolute heaven!

This is addictive. First time I sprayed it, I was far from impressed but as time went by, I couldn’t get enough of it.

QUICK UPDATE: I went on a forest hike and every time I lifted my camera to take a picture, I smelled my wrist and to this day, it's one of the best olfactory experiences of my life. Opens with the most appealing vetiver ever that’s pungent, sun-soaked, dry grass with a gorgeously balanced dank, raspberry edge. Also reads as luscious, supple leather. Purity slightly diminished by soap, but isn’t terrible as dry cedar helps. Projects a fall-time walk with the appealingly bright/musty decay of leaves - but damp moss keeps it from being Autumnal. Up close, the vetiver is exquisitely rich and complex. The name + design “Green Sapphire” made it hard to appreciate the gorgeous vetiver it excels at because I was expecting green. Strength and projection is incredible. It's mostly boatloads of brilliantly dense vetiver - which is enough for me. Dank, rich, dry spice. (Deleted 2 previous reviews because this took multiple attempts to understand)

Oh my what a gorgeous composition this is! BTV never fails to disappoint and the note breakdowns are basically useless in my experience owning many of them. This is beautiful but for $800 I can’t justify it. Stylistically it shares a lot in common with Ursa and Ecstasy from Tiziana Terenzi (I own both so that isn’t a guess). If someone gave me a bottle I’d be ecstatic and humbled but for $200 or so...for my money I’ll take the Tiziana’s that are similar and project a little more. Scent: 8/10 definitely high quality and very well composed. Projection: 5/10 for the first couple hours. Longevity: 7/10 it sticks around but gets very soft after a few hours. Sillage: 4/10 it does leave a train behind you but only for the first hour or so. Would I buy a full bottle? No.

Classy but overrated (and overpriced) woody aromatic scent that has a sensual allure to it. The scent opens with aromatic notes of saffron, violet leaf, raspberry and a liquor accord. The heart is pine, cashmeran and patchouli. The perfume settles on a powdery woody base of sandalwood, slight oud, vanilla and synthetic musk. Overall nice masculine leaning scent with moderate to strong projection and excellent longevity. But it’s only a slight variation on Blue Sapphire really. Enjoy!

This perfume is very heartwarming. So I can somewhat see it being used as a daily grabber. However, it does remind me of high school days for some reason in the opening. (As how scents can trigger memories) It comes across as extremely gentle, but at the same time it has vitality. Dry down is powdery, which elevates the maturity of the scent. Overall pretty good but probably not for the price point.

The raspberry smell i get from the start is really nice and reminds me of those 'blue raspberry' sweets that i love However, it has a fancy aura that means i cant wear it for any occassion. I feel like this would be the perfect scent for a confident man wearing a coloured suit for prom.
