Harmonious Vs DHP (2020) Long review warning 😂😂 Synopsis: if you can spend the extra $$ get Harmonious. The price vs quality of BTV is distinctly noticeable on this one. You can tell BTV used a bunch of extra ingredients to make it stand out. Using an analogy, it’s like comparing regular Coke to Diet Coke 🙃🙃 Comparison: DHP is famous for a reason, the coveted Iris, i.e the lipstick/makeup smell that makes the DH line so famous still shines in 2020 version. Some may argue it’s more subdued, but I think it’s just right. Unfortunately this doesn’t last too long on me, and after about 30-45 minutes the Iris takes a back seat and the leather-woody notes start coming to the forefront. The dry down in 2020 is very nice musk and woods with a powdery air to it.. but the dry down becomes very soft on my skin. Harmonious is a gorgeous, naughty and playful take on DHP. The Iris opening on this lasts for 1-2 hours on my skin, and it’s almost identical to DHP but just with extra mileage. The citrus and boozy notes are lingering in the background, complimenting Iris.. but once you get past this stage, the Iris starts to settle down and the boozy- amber, and citrus notes take the center stage. This is where I feel Harmonious is superior, the boozy notes are so seductive and intoxicating and smell like DHP on steroids.. the scent trail this leaves is amazing and will get heads to turn. The dry down in DHP is very nice but stays woody-powdery on my skin. Harmonious on the other hand brings out vanilla, sandalwood, cashmere wood to the playground and adds an additional layer of complexity. Overall the differences are subtle, but noticeable to my nose. Off the air both DHP and Harmonious smell similar, but up close in intimate settings Harmonious really elevates the experience 😉😉 For me personally harmonious outperforms a lot of the Rojas and Henry Jacques in my collection. This will be one of the top fragrances in my collection, and honestly much better value than some of the $1000+ animal releases from BTV. Conclusion: Harmonious is the energizer bunny version of DHP.. if you enjoy fragrances and love the hobby get Harmonious. Don’t chase the vintage batches of DHP, instead use the $$$ to get Harmonious. If you want to smell good, and not break the bank or are new into the hobby get DHP 😎😎

There are fragrances that make a strong first impression, and then there’s Harmonious. From the first spray, it feels like you’ve stepped into something grand, almost cinematic. The orris hits early with a slightly powdery, makeup-like smoothness, but it’s softened by a warm, cozy musk and that subtle buzz of ambrette. The leather is there, but it’s not loud or rough. It’s a little more like polished suede than a biker jacket. It all comes together in this textured, plush sort of way that somehow manages to be bold and comforting at the same time. As it develops, the boozy notes of rum and cognac rise just enough to be noticed, giving it this rich, almost velvety depth without turning it into a booze bomb. This is the sweetest phase of the fragrance. The orris already carries a soft, powdery sweetness, and the rum and cognac swirl in to give it a rich, almost boozy depth that feels warm and luxurious without tipping into gourmand territory. The scent stays close, but never too close. You’ll smell it on yourself every time you move, and that’s honestly part of what makes it so addictive. People love to compare this to Dior Homme Parfum, and yeah, the DNA is there. But Harmonious isn’t trying to be a clone. It’s more vibrant and lifted with a slightly more musky, modern touch. If DHP is dark velvet, Harmonious is warm silk. It leans unisex, maybe even a little feminine because of some of the orbiting notes. It projects nicely for the first few hours, then settles into a smoother, more intimate scent that still lingers after 10 hours. I don’t reach for this just to smell good. I wear it when I want to feel calm and put-together, like everything’s in place without trying too hard. That’s exactly why, out of all the fragrances I own, this one has earned a permanent spot in my rotation. If I had to be stuck with only a handful of fragrances for the rest of my life, Harmonious would be there without question. Scent (on skin): 8/10 Scent (sillage): 9.5/10 Projection: 8/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Value: 3/10 Originality: 6/10 Mass appeal: 6.5/10 Versatility: 6.5/10

No, I have never tried the og DHP. My review is a standalone perception of Harmonious with, of course, what I would expect to pick up from DHP along with slight comparisons to other fragrances in the genre. I had a decant, considered a full bottle multiple times, and for now settled for 10ml from Boadicea. I own other bottles from the brand and, unlike the others I've tried I have not tried the boss in terms of what Harmonious compares to, and honestly don't really have an interest in doing specifically because it's discontinued now (insert DHP here). This is several steps elevated from my experience wit DHI and other iris-focused fragrances in the designer realm: VUI, Narciso BNP, Prada LHI, etc. Can it be brand bias? Certainly, but I try as much as possible to have clarity when it comes to this bias. Mix into that DNA aspects from Musc Ravageur and Delphinus (?) - kinda reminds me of those in various parts of the development. Elegantly presents this iris touch to a boozy, somewhat earthy aspect that makes me pick this over all the others. The layers and complexities added to the obvious DNA are, here, the gold standard to me. This is, tbh, a signature scent if you can pull it off where you work, etc. Does not go too dense or too sweet to be disrespectful in a more formal environment. I do not smell this being overly powdery or even feminine - it is quite masculine and has a touch of powder of course but not powdery-centered at all! At the same time that it projects and stays sufficiently for detectability. 3 seasons only, summer with this would be annoying because I lean toward other scent profiles then. Easily goes for >12h on skin but elegant all the way without being persistent or super projecting. This is no joke in longevity, applied it in the morning of one day, and after showering in the evening, I went for my morning shower next day and could still detect it softly on the skin.

I really like the name of the perfume, listed notes, the red, pinkish hue of the bottle, and being familiar with some of the Boadicea offerings I decided to order a sample. Harmonious is a very beautiful fragrance. I'd say it's mainly powdery but with depth and a bit of spice. When it comes to distinguishing individual notes I can definitely smell orris, which seems to be the lead in this fragrance. The opening is boozy, but not much, like a whiff of somebody walking with a glass of brandy that's been held in their hand for some time. I can identify a tiny bit of cardamon, but it's nothing compared to, for example Lune Feline. Here, it's just a hint. I cannot smell any cinnamon or saffron (and thank god for that). Somewhere in the background, there is rose, which, to my nose rounds up Harmonius. When it comes to the base it's powdery, musky, like a soft suede (much more than leather) that's been sprayed with different perfumes, and now exudes that subtle, delicate scent. I don't detect vanilla (a bit of shame), but instead there is a slight, soapy impression - very gentle and very nice, but definitely not like in aldehydic perfumes. I cannot say whether it's similar to DHP, as stated by the previous reviewer, but to me it's a child of Fenicia (less spicy) from TMOV and Deviant (less naughty) from Wesker with godmother’s sprinkles of Ballerina (soft and sweet) from Moresque. I have all of the three, so now the question is: do I need Harmonious? Of course not! Do I want want it? Definitely! This is a good one from Boadicea!

First things first: it’s a long lasting. Second: wait a few seconds to get the Ambrette, similar to the lipsticky DHP, but it’s more lighter. Let’s don’t forget DHP has rose but is buried in wood/oud. The rose here pops up right after 10-15 minutes, and turns a bit jammy, and starts to go back and forth between the rose and iris. The rose is predominant for about 2 hours. It’s unisex, and depending of your experience wearing rose fragrances, you may think it leans feminine. In fact, in a facet of the rose dominating the bubble around you, it turns like raspberry smell, maybe giving by the rum or cognac. After 2 hours, it’s very close to DHP but lighter. Not like DHI but a lighter DHP. DHP is more lipstick, and Harmonious is more makeup smell. Same neighborhood, different street. I have enough DHP for life, and I wear it when the temperature is not hot: Spring, fall winter works. I will wear the Harmonious pretty much the same seasons. Summer would be a little too much, unless 1 spray on the back of your hand, press with the other back of your hand, and press the pulse point on your neck area. It projects well but is not monstruos. Very noticeable on an arm length for 3-4 hours, then 2-3 more hours at elbows length, and by then, close to the skin and stays there for hours and hours. Olere Novum’s description is spot on. It may be perceived as femenine but only for those 2 hours I was referring to. I just want to emphasize DHP has rose, but is buried in woods. The Harmonious is fleeting, airy, but not shy.

This is gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. I can see the cross references to DHP, but I would most definitily not call this 'a take on DHP'. This fragrance is its own thing, yes it has elements of DHP but it leans heavily on Lipstick. This of course is completely subjective, but I can wear this in a lot more situations than that of which I would DHP. DHP has more of a dark feel to it, yet this is slightly brighter, it's not a freshie or anywhere near one, just seems and feels a brighter fragrance. I wore it to a funeral a couple of days ago, and it was a lot more fitting to the occasion; it was a lovely bright spring summer day, and worked so well with the weather and the mood; reserved yet not melancholic, rather uplifting. This to me is old school deep mushy lipstick, that's my take from it, and I LOVE it :) Definitely a try, expensive for what it is, but it is unique, and very high quality, to the extent I want a backup bottle as you need to overspray this to get the desired effect. It's FB worthy and I'd say easily blind buy worthy, for anyone in any situations, a lovely scent indeed. Enjoy and God bless :)

Utterly gorgeous, benevolent fragrance that is completely full-bottle worthy. It opens up - to my nose - with a Coca Cola iris, which becomes a soft, buttery orris and rose powder. I think the Coca Cola aspect comes from the blend of spices and cognac, but it's only gently spicy. Just enough to make the opening warm. I do understand the comparisons with to Dior Homme, but here I find the notes softer, rounder and more gender inclusive, maybe even leaning feminine. When it dries down it becomes creamy and lovely - the leather is barely there, and the cashmere makes almost a skinscent. I would say this is a fantastic year-round fragrance, because of the bergamot and ambrette top notes that balance out the intoxicating base. Deserves a much higher rating - I can't imagine why the numbers started so low, but it's good to see that as others are trying this, it is becoming more appreciated!

Never smelled DHP and that's really the entire reason I own this lol. I do own DHI however, and I can smell the similarities there enough to know that this must be pretty close. Whether it is or not, I have finally decided to rest and resign to the idea that this is virtually a high quality clone and I will stop chasing DHP. Now did I pay a truck load to get this bottle shipped to me in the states from the UK? Lol yes I did, but the point is that I was ACTUALLY able to have access to and purchase it. Though BTV didn't exactly make that easy either... Anyway, this smells great, lol. If you can drop the funds to have it imported and all that jazz, then knock yourself out. Powdery, sweet vanilla, rosy, woody. 3/4 of the way into my first daily wear now and it's still going pretty strong at 6 hours.

This is excellent. Dior Homme Parfum but brighter, louder, more complex, perhaps slightly more feminine and EXTREMELY longer lasting. Longevity is honestly 12-14 hours on my skin. It is the kind of fragrance that if you spray twice on your wrist in the morning, you will be able to smell it wafting through the air right in front of you every time you move your arms around ... all day. I just got a bottle from a discounter for $220.00 so it is a bit cheaper than current prices for the now discontinued DHP. I highly recommend this. Especially if you are a woman (or a man) interested in a slightly more feminine yet stronger version of the now discontinued Dior Homme Parfum. It 100% takes away the sting of losing DHP.

The Fragrantica ratings don't do this one justice. I briefly sampled it during a recent visit to Selfridges in London and then proceeded to purchase a sample from the Boadicea website. Everyone is completely aware of the massive elephant in the room as it does share stark similarities with Dior Homme Parfum (which I own a full bottle of). However, if I'm honest, Harmonious is miles better than DHP. The performance, the scent, the quality, the ingredients, everything is better, and for a Boadicea it is actually reasonably priced (subjectively speaking). I'm deliberating whether to pull the trigger on a full bottle. I shall squeeze the last few drops from my sample before deciding.

Oh my goodness! I have not had the pleasure of testing Dior Homme Parfum but, I have wanted to blind buy it for years now. I love Iris in its many forms and Harmonious did not disappoint me. It’s dry and powdery goodness. I may just have to give up my dream of owning Dior Homme Parfum because Harmonious is so gorgeous, satisfies my Iris itch and Dior Homme Parfum is impossible to find. I can see myself wearing this year round because it is well blended with no harsh notes. I truly believe it is underrated on this site. I have owned nearly 300 fragrances and Harmonious is definitely in my top 10.

Holy heck this stuff is amazing. Absolutely amazing. Literally a slightly lighter, more rounded DHP with more projection. Wore this sample ONE TIME and had so many compliments and questions about 'what are you wearing??' and it lasted and projected all day. ALL DAY. Which for me is the equivalent of 8-10 hours, for sake of context. I LOVE DHP, and will continue to wear mine in the colder weather. This is definitely getting a full bottle. Wow. as @Olere Novum alluded to below, this definitely takes some of the sting out of losing DHP.

This is a superior version to Dior Homme Parfum. This is what Tahmeen Carved Oud is to Tom Ford's Oud Wood. This is what Atelier Materi's Burgundy Oud is to Maison Crivelli's Oud Maracujá. We can say its a clone, but unlike cheap arab clones, this is a higher quality clone. Considering the OG is now discontinued, and pretty hard to find, unless you want to pays more then what youll pay for this. Buying this is the obvious choice now days. Iris is not my favorite note, but this right here is the best iris.

I like Harmonious immensely though not much creativity is seen here as this resembles DHP in many ways and is also different in subtle ways. Btw taking a legendary perfume like DHP and making it much better is no mean feat either. That said Harmonious is now more in rotation than Dior for me. And Harmonious surpasses Dior but comes with a steeper price tag so if price is not an issue then go for Harmonious. You will certainly get more noticed and get more compliments than with DHP

Captivating Iris fragrance, definitely the same family of Dior Homme parfum, but Harmonious has awesome longevity I did a few sprays on my jacket, and it's last over 2 weeks and has a notable scent trail, DHP is a little bit sweeter than Harmonious, both are masterfully craft of perfumery, if you want better longevity buy Harmonious Harmonious is 10/10, without a doubt

Not sure why this has a low rating on here. It's a top notch fragrance. Stays potent for 4 hours on my skin, as if i just sprayed it. I've not been lucky enough to smell DHP so I can't compare. But this is a wow scent. Perfectly unisex. My favourite Boadicea so far. Powdery boozy sweet warm. I love it. 5/5 Will I buy again when the bottle is finished? Yes

Harmonious is the most beautiful creamy powdery iris I’ve ever smelled. Smooth suede, soft cashmere woods, warm boozy touches, and velvety iris blended to perfection giving an “expensive creamy powder” smell rather than sharp or vintage powder. Luxurious, elegant, comforting, and incredibly addictive without feeling too dry or lipstick-heavy.

An amazing work of art..a fragrance that will left u up to a different level of luxury. The opening is strong and a bit harsh in a beautiful way....but the dry down is absolutely amazing. I should say it's not for everyone and not for all seasons. it does remind me of DHP but with a touch of luxury... I love it 10/10

Boadicea released a gem here. Makes me think a boozy, musky, more complex, Dior Homme Parfum with aspects of Boadicea Legend, whatever is lacking in originality, it makes up for with amazing Boadicea execution and material quality. Cardamom, Cognac, Orris, Ambrette and Suede shine. Stunning!

After a full day of wearing Harmonious, I can confidently say this is one of the best purchases I've made. Refined, addictive, and far better than I expected. This deserves way more attention in the niche fragrance community.

This certainly reminds me of Dior Homme Intense for sure. Maybe just slightly lighter. Tiny bit . A good alternative to Dior Homme post 2020.

It’s common knowledge by now that Harmonious is Boadicea’s take on the famous Dior Homme Parfum - a mastery in Iris and leather. Despite the strong similarities, there are noticeable differences, and not entirely for the better I’m afraid to say. The core of the scent profile is the same as the Dior, but comes across much more dry - the Iris flower accord is replaced with a dusty orris note, whilst the ambrette seems to be vigorously amped up giving it an increased musky edge. At the same time, it seems a little sweeter, whilst maintaining a definite aroma of baby wipes. I enjoy it, but I don’t love it - I’m glad Boadicea has started doing these 10ml bottles so that I can enjoy this scent without committing to 100ml which I would never get through. It’s a nice scent, but considering the price, the Dior is far superior. But with Dior Homme Parfum’s recent reformulation, perhaps this will grow in popularity.

Mmmm smells nice !!! I love my thick warm gourmands but this, this is nice, very nice and 100% Unisex especially on the days you feel bold and daring! Gives me gorgeous white suit with a bold red lip on a business trip vibes or very fancy date. Some spice, booze, some sweetness (from the vanilla) and depth in the base (woods), the initial spray ugrhhhhh gorgeous, dries a tad woodier. Not for summer, maybe spring nights & fall/winter. Blended very gorgeously + lasts forever!!! 8.5/10

In my opinion, the longevity and scent of this fragrance differ quite a bit from the Dior fragrances. While it has notes of lavender, saffron, and other elements that complement a beautifully subtle iris, the overall duration and projection are not as strong as Dior Homme. I recommend everyone trying it on your skin first to see how it develops before purchasing. At €300, it's important to ensure you truly love it

This is a brighter, easier to wear clone of Dior Homme Parfum/Intense. DH Parfum is darker with stronger leather and oud, Intense focusses more on the iris and musks and works best in cold weather. Harmonious creates a small niche between these fragrances where it's the easiest to wear, it's unisex and works better in warmer weather and is more complex tho it doesn't smell radically different to the Diors.

Quite a lipsticky scent! Opens very strong and masculine but that dry down thoughhh, amazing! I am starting to really like this house. I guess they are somewhat of a clone house but they are so high quality and well blended!

Not sure what the big hype is about, this is nothing like DHP or DHI. Its a more like an ordinary off the shelf ultra sharp spicy scent like Armani Stronger with You, nothing powdery or lipsticky. Most of the positive reviews are likely paid. Fancy packaging but terrible bottle, loose cap, I m so glad i only bought a 10ml bottle. Way way overpriced, this should not be more than $50 for 100ml ^Free Palestine - No Wars - No More Stolen Oil^

This is really weak fragrance on my skin and my wife tried it and agreed that this is really, really weak juice.Not worth the money at all.Waste of time.Nemer,from same house is a Bomb, different ball game altogether.

It’s straight up clone of Dior homme parfume with a very soapy smell in the dry down. For the price point, I will go with DHP.

Too powdery and spicy. Doesn't smell masculine. Headache inducing. I could still smell it on my arm over 12 hours after spraying it once.

I prefer this of DHP, and nothing against DHP even DHI it’s that this is indeed more refined to me from a perspective of quality. It’s drier which I like, DHP for me although it’s complete love even with DHI too but those gave me too much of a nauseating musk vibe which felt stuffy and humid. This is like a in 65/70 degree temp feeling with no humidity outside. All three fragrances are unisex in my opinion but definitely lean masculine. None of these should be worn on hot days at all unless on cool summer nights. I’m surprised I like this better than both Diors but if it wasn’t, I kinda was content on not having a bottle. We all have to find our type of chocolate cake in this world, this one fits my taste. Last thing, I believe even though the leather is minimal compared to DHP, the dryness makes up for it, doesn’t feel floral at all to me which for the one leans more masculine than DHI and DHP.

whoever designed the package and bottle should get executed. both are absolute cheap piece of shit. I suspected i got fake package, then i realized that no counterfeiter dare to make such cheap looking package and bottle. the box is cheap, ugly, black cardboard.with poorly painted logo, unsymmetrical decorations, all in cheap gold and white font. they wanted the bottle to look like antique, but the metal on it is scratched, poorly engraved, cheap looking and catches fingerprints. bottle's color is shitty pale red, atomizer looks cheap. whatever the quality of the juice is: but everytime you see the bottle and box you will feel you have burnt your money

A very gourmand fragrance. I haven't worn this frequently enough for a full update, but it's a perfect scent for day and nighttime wear, it's also a perfect at work or going for lunch or heading out for dinner scent. Don't expect something dark, rich and mysterious (or Middle Eastern) from Harmonious. I do like gourmand, but I always need some sort of Middle Eastern twist, and Harmonious doesn't have much complexity to it either. It's a beautiful fragrance but a very safe one that is. Perfect for a beginner having just started its fragrance journey. Harmonious isn't my favourite, but I do like it, but probably won't wear it that often.

Harmonious is the olfactory equivalent of quiet wealth; refined, impeccably tailored, and effortlessly sophisticated. No flashy notes or unnecessary excess, just pure elegance and exceptional craftsmanship. The kind of fragrance that belongs in a bespoke wardrobe and leaves an impression without ever demanding attention. A scent of understated luxury and timeless taste. 9.5/10 for the juice 6/10 for the bottle

So many people on here have been saying this is better than DHP OG! Not possible. No way. You can’t be better than perfect. So...i got a decant. Holy crap! It’s the sweeter, thinner and more active cousin to my beloved DHP and interestingly it has a bit more going on. Is it better? Nope...but it’s just as good. Totally worth having both...Harmonious for daytime and my DHP OG for date nights.

Straight gas!! Anyone who says this is Sauvage elixir in Dry down is a silly goose I have both. Harmonious is powder fragrance from start to finish. Once that vanilla kicks in the dry down it’s game over this stuff is heavenly

This is basically Dior Homme Parfum repackaged. The price is a bit higher but the quality is parallel. You have to swear on the holy book if you want anybody to believe that this isn’t a straight up clone of DHP.

Sugar, pink phenolic notes, suede and strawberry liqueur. Can't sense anything other than those four. Awful opening that luckily dissappeared within 5 minutes but the rest isn't a lot better.

I agree that it has a similar dna to Dior Homme Parfum, but with higher quality. That’s saying something considering the legendary reputation of DHP.
