Iceni

Beautiful and so delicious at the same time. Iceni is a sticky, resinous, balsamic, dark, woody, chewy tonka and spice perfume that conjures images of a cake consisting of layers of pain d'epice, gingerbread and panettoni, oozing with dark, viscous molasses between each layer and finally drizzled with white icing. It's as though Fille en Aiguilles, Arabie and Colors by Benetton got down and dirty in an unscrupulous ménage à trois. This smells like something that belongs in a Lutens bell jar, just--WOW. Very holiday-esque, you really get the elemi/myrrh and pine needle scent, but the base is so sweet and cozy. Iceni successfully teeters the line between gourmand and incense perfume, never totally crossing the line too much in either direction, in a way I rarely encounter. I see this as a winter perfume, but it's so magnificent goodness knows it will be hard not to wear it all year long. Sillage and longevity are huge. A+++ for yet another ridiculously incredible perfume by Boadicea the Victorious. Words can't express my admiration for this house. (Update: OMG sillage is atomic! One spray is so strong I have to keep my head far away from my wrists for hours. I should just decant it and dab a teency bit on. I have a 100ml bottle--it will last the rest of my life!!)

Iceni by Boadicea the Victorious opens resinous and balsamic due to the Elemi. I don't get much of the florals, but I definitely get the spicy heart notes, this is absolutely delicious. Then in the long drydown, Myrrh is the king of the notes, superbly supported with Sandalwood, Vanilla, Cashmeran, Cedar and Tonka. This is definitely a feel good fragrance for me. Iceni is my first perfume from Boadicea the Victorious and it has greatly impressed me, longevity is great (on my skin it lasts up to 11 h), with moderate sillage. This is definitely an enveloping, warm, cool weather scent, but maybe used judiciously (read, 1 spray o half a spray, it can also be enjoyed in Summer). Definitely unisex, but leaning more masculine. Love at first sniff.

A high quality warm, resinous perfume with a slightly muddled spiciness mixed underneath -like carnation and clove. And then fine layers of vanillic sweetness. I agree with rafadefaria, this is similar to TF's Tobacco Vanille but more refined and elegant. I also like the nod Zentocs gives to Viktoria Minya's Eau De Hongrie, while I think Iceni is purely unisex, I do think there is the same general thing going on with Eau De Hongrie, although the latter is much sweeter. Overall a beautiful complex yet simple myrrh centered fragrance that doesn't try too hard. 8.5/10

It's a pleasant Patchouli and cinnamon heavy fragrance that isn't over powering. It uses spices that are usually gourmand leaning and takes it in a completely different direction. I wish it projected more, but it might be too much if it did. I wouldn't pay retail, but I got it used for a decent price and it's worth it. Smooth, spicy, and in my opinion, masculine. It's like a niche man in black with apple pie spices. Closest scent I've smelled to this is the limited edition Man in Black Essence Laolu Edition.

I've been wearing Iceni on and off for several years now, and one thing I can say is, that it gets better, and better with time. This is the sweetest Oriental fragrance. Sweet, resinous myrrh, elemi, clove, sweetened by cinnamon and vanilla, warm and resinous, sultry, soothing. A perfect balance for any season. Impressive longevity; in hot weather, it stays on my skin for nearly a day. Moderate sillage, absolutely unisex.

Iceni is the baby of Ambre Sultan and Un Bois Vanille. It is either a gourmand, vanilla-ish AS or a spicy, oriental UBV. It has absolutely nothing to do with ancient British Celts and their natural habitat but everything with the Orient and scents which only can be found there. Nevertheless, this is a delicate, delicious, warm, cozy fragrance I would totally buy, if I wasn't already the proud owner of AS and UBV

This is a myrrh dominant scent: it is warm, sweet, ambery and very similar to myrrh impériale by Armani.

Discontinued gem, unfortunately. Amazing sweet incense fragrance with great performance.

Absolutely entrancing Oriental Fougere that simply casts a happy spell all around you. The perfume opens with a note of just elemi resin before going into a dense Floriental heart of rose, jasmine, neroli, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. It finally settles into a very dense powdery base of myrrh, tonka bean, papyrus, vetiver, vanilla, cashmeran, sandalwood, labdanum, labdanum and oakmoss. This is a happy radiant unisex scent that projects immensely and lasts on your skin for hours. Another winner from the amazing house of Boadicea. Enjoy!

Beautiful incense gourmand fragrance (warm/spice/amber woody category) with a nice touch vanilla, tonka bean and cinnamon. Perfect as a blind buy as you can’t go wrong with this one. Perfectly unisex. To me it will remind somehow Christmas and it always sets me in the mood of cozy winter evening. It is to me very similar to Taklamakan from SHL.

Pleasant, soft Woody scent. Performance isn't strong on my skin, rather light. This makes it easy to wear and definitely won't offend anyone. I believe day or night is ok. Reminds a little of Jovoy Remember Me, maybe the vanilla in both.

I will second some people, that this is nice, universal resinous and sweet scent. It is a lot like Nishane - Ani, except it is way less of a statement scent and more of an casual everyday/any occasion /no beainer version. It is resins, vanilla and spices, with some additional notes for complexity. Very good lasting power/some scent bubble and an okay projection. Not a must have, but nice to have in ones collection.

Believe me this one is no big deal at all. First of all it's not Myrrh what you are smelling, but the typical tobacco+vanille combo used thousands of times by like every company before, plus lemon cheescake with resinous crumbles on the bottom and ginger zest on top.And that's it.Don't get some other expectations by letting yourself mislead by the ingredient list as I did. The list is made obviously just for sport.Longevity is good, I give you that. Projection could have been better though.But it's very very feminine,please keep that in mind, so I gave the sample that I ordered to one of my female colleagues, after she said that's kinda nice smell.Final Point: Boadicea couldn't be Victorious on my taste.

I bought the hair mist It's a bit like Myrhh Ardent by Anick Goutal, but Myrhh ardent is much nicer. The bottle is nice but has some weird arabic writing on the back, which completely spoils it, especially since Boadicea was an English Queen.

رائعة من روائع دار بواديسيا دي فيكتوريوس التي إلتحقت بمجموعتي حديثاً . عطر يبدع في صمت ؛ تمرد و إنتفاضة بشكل خفي . إطلالة بلسميّة هادئة ، و لكن سرعان ما يبرز الياسمين وزهر البرتقال ، جوز الطيب و الزنجبيل ، حيث يصبح من المستحيل الوقوف أمام هذا الزخم العطري المدفوع بنوتات داكنة من خشب الكشمير ، نجيل الهند وراتنج المر ، و كذلك دفقات من الشوكولاطة الغامقة حسب أنفي و إن لم تكن مدرجة ؛ مع أن لها دور حيوي في خلق التوازن المطلوب و تلطيف الأجواء . يفضل إرتداءه بالفترات المسائية ، كما أنه يناسب الرجال بقدر ما يناسب النساء أيضا .

My first impression was good. It opens a bit harsh but it goes away in the first 3 to 5 minutes and it turns into a pleasant tobacco vanilla combo. People tend to say it's Myrhh but it smeels like syrupy tobacco and vanilla. It reminds me Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille in the first minutes but it's way... WAY more wearable, versatile and pleasant. It changes throughout the life of the fragance. Tobacco Vanille is quite linear.

Holy cow, I couldn't get this off of me fast enough! It's very masculine, IMO, and SO strong it took about 5-6 washes which didn't completely get rid of it. I hope I don't sit next to someone on a plane wearing this, because I just might suffocate and die before the flight is over. Seriously, I find this fragrance overpowering and an assault to my nostrils. Just, no.

Very nice wearable high quality resinous comforter that is a people pleaser. Great projection and longevity. Myrrh is the star, but it’s supported by gourmand touches and spices that make it interesting and rounded. I could see this in my collection and would definitely see myself reaching for this, especially when the weather is cool.

the start reminds me of the Glühwein's boiling smell. carnation, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves...not sure if I like it thankfully once resins begin to warm up it gets much sweeter and thicker, patchouli really shines, bitter vanilla and lots of tonka come through... so good actually! smells (and is) very expensive

Pink cloud of fruitiness, saffron, white musk, dry grains. Very hard to discern any particular notes for me. Maybe the excessive use of fixatives or strong aromachemicals. Not for me. Can't really see what this scent has to do with the Iceni tribe either.

Hi, This perfume is very- very pleasant but too masculine for me. If some Women want to using a scent like this for woman, I can offer Viktoria Minya Eau De Hongrie, this is a very similar one without that sharp masculine note.

Elegant, cosy, resinous, very wearable. The dry down sweetish amber 7/10
