Imperial

I get a lot of leather (a real soft upholstery leather), geranium, sandalwood, lavender and what to my nose smells like cattails in shallow water. This isn't a "warm" fragrance but does have a slight resinous floral vibe that reminds me of Creed's Royal Oud. It's not skanky or offensive. If anythig it comes off very "new England" proper and dressy and authoritative. For me, this smells like my summers on Chincoteauge Island. To a "T". Very wearable and sophisticated. In Southern California, the right hoodie and jeans can be "dressed up" and so I will usually stick to that, but it is certainly a more formal scent. Not so stiff you cant wear it out as an *amazing* date night fragrance though. Think YSL M7 (reformulated) mixed with some Creed Royal Oud, and layered with Creed's Original Santal and you're in the right ballpark. Beautiful juice. Scent: 10/10 seriously. Two different wears with a tester and it was full bottle time. Longevity: 10/10 monster longevity, I've been wearing today's spray for 11 hours in the heat and humidity and I can still clearly smell it on my arm. EDIT: It has now been 20 hours since this single spray on my forearm and I can still detect it at point-blank range. Projection: 6/10 for the first hour or so, then pulls in closer to the body (about a 4/10) for the next few hours, then becomes a close range-point blank scent afterwards for the rest of it's life. Sillage: 8/10 for the first 45min-1.5 hours. 5/10 afterwards till the two-three hour mark, then nothing. Shame really but the rest makes up for it in my book. My skin eats fragrance so you may have better results. Would I buy another bottle?: No question. No hesitation. Yes!

TF Oud Wood + TF Beau di jour + Aventus with a kiss of Mindgames Gambit or Nishane B-612.... Its unique to me with the crossovers and pinning it to a smells like is all over the map. I like this though! Barbershopish done in a masculine, gentlemanly in a regal way. Refined and upgraded opening and has a sharpness to it to garner attention. Has a sweetened oud making it more wearable for westerners and no funk to it. Its clean... I feel like I have smelled this before, however i think it is literally because i can smell components from other fragrances that i listed above. I do not think this is to garner compliments and definetely not a fragrance to try and appeal to the females nose. It is not that type of fragrance, nor is it safe for blind buy as it is not exactly mass appealing. Why wear it? This is boss fragrance for a mature man. This is not a casual worker, this is the man in higher office level of the skyscrapper who has done passed the corner office. He wears this for himself and doesn't care what you think.

I got a bottle as a gift. This house was a mystery to me before (even though I mostly have niche frags). It was a pleasant surprise as it was very gentlemanly but masculine, slightly playful yet serious. Definitely resinous woody fresh fragrance with elements of floral sweetness and fresh spicy aromatic nuances. Excellent performance, no complaints. This reminds me of the old Aventus dry down mixed with Interlude Man somehow. It really is an interesting fragrance, I liked it right away and will use the bottle up before deciding if to repurchase (but strong chance I will). I can see some elements of Oud Wood as some indicated below (fresh woody scent, duh). The tamed sweetness will bring memories of sweet woody fragrances that you were familiar with in the past. Patchouli here is what reminds me of the old Aventus dry down (very green, aromatic, camphorous). Definitely check this one out, it is hard not to like even though it is rather complex.

Love at first sniff! Adore this it's the love child of Amouage Jubilation 25 and Mugler's unfathomably unpopular B*Men. Opens exactly like the two of them fruity berries and a sharp gorgeous rhubarb note. This is a very woody fragrance, Guiac wood to me is a solid base and apparent thoughout but it's more complex than B*Men and in that regard more similar to Jubilation man. Labdanum gives it a fizzy upmarket quality there's a lot of patchouli but it's totally in proportion and doesn;t work against the rest of the composition. A hint of rose as it gets deeper into the heart and the rhubarb and fruits settle down. I would never slate Thierry Mugler B*Men I love that scent but Imperial is like a super classy, expensive version of it and rightly so given what you pay for this juice. Worth every penny in my opinion great projection and longevity is what you'd expect at this level and Imperial doesn't disappoint.

On the opening I get fresh spicy lavender and Oud. The Oud reminds me of the Oud in Sahraa Oud by Fragrance Du Bois but much lighter and aromatic. From the Oud I can smell a slight rose and sweetness and this is the heart of the scent. It's quite intricate as here and there I can pick up other notes like leather and woods. Eventually it becomes very woody and spicy whilst been very easy to wear. It's a very light wearing scent. And that oudy rosy jasmine heart is always there. It smells very classy and chic. I would say the scent is reminiscent and has the same vibe as Tom Fords Oud Wood and Royal Oud by Creed. But having better ingredients than both of them. The star of the show is the slightly sweet rosy Oud which seems to be the heart of the scent. All in all very lovely and chic. I like it a lot!

Right on opening, I can't help but echo the references to Mugler. Chewy, delicious, sweet patchouli which seems to be a signature in many of his creations. The rose, oud and freesia in the heart are gently sweet and joyous. The geranium is the most discernible among the aromatics with barely a whisper of lavender or angelica, all lending a subtle diffusive lift. I love the labdanum here, botanically ambery and bright. And the woods are gentle, comforting and ever-present in the base and create a perfect balance. However personally, I'm not moved. I've sniffed too many oudy-rose scents to be inspired, albeit delicate and well blended here. But the prominent spicy patchouli gives a familiar spin that will leave one pleasantly satisfied.

So I've been smelling this scent more and more lately and I am just so impressed with the blend. It's complex but in a very good way. I am able to smell a lot of different notes, but at the end of the day we have another rose oud combo here. It's very elegant. If high quality had a smell, this would be it. It's dark and sweet, but not cloying. It will last for a long time and loves the cold weather. I do recommend this scent and the house has me very curious of their other offerings and will need to add a few on my monthly lucky scent order. Very well priced for a niche house too, $150'for50ml bottle that will last this long is a bargain for this quality actually. Scent 9/10 Longevity 9/10 Quality 9.5/10 Uniqueness 8/10 Overall 9/10

I was looking to buy Amouage King Blue but it was out of stock. I also got rid of my Boadicea Glorious as I found it kinda synthetic smelling. So I was looking for another Boadicea to buy. I was on the verge of buying Monarch or Ardent but by chance I sniffed on a bottle of Imperial. Boom!!! I was hooked (not Boadicea Hooked though). I instantly bought the 100ml bottle on Black Friday discount. I have 3 Amouages, a Horatio Zephyros, Creed Aventus etc, but BtV Imperial has now become my signature everyday perfume. The Oud-lavender-floral opening is magical. Surprisingly masculine. Sometimes it reminds me of Amouage Jubilation 25 Man and Thierry Mugler A*Men perfumes. I love it! Scent 9/10 Performance 8/10

Update a few months in: I have now three bottles of it. Update a few weeks in: This is so so so good! I spray it at least once a day (i spray three or four scents a day) So highly addictive This is an amazing fragrance! I got samples, then a small 20ml travel spray bottle and i just ordered a full bottle. I got so obsessed by it and its beauty. I see the resemblance with Oud Wood + Fougere d Argent but it would then be super high end and way more additional dimensions thanks to the geranium and lavender. Incredible!

Very similar scent profile to recently released Dior Sauvage Elixir but with more natural, higher quality ingredients. Lavender is very prominent and the slightly sweet medicinal woods in the base will bring you to the same conclusion. The rosewood brings a hint of Oud Wood to the mix, while the birch-florals-patchouli combo will remind you of the old vintage Aventus drydown. Very classy, gentlemanly and simply great, Excellent presentation, performance and value IMO.

This is an amazing perfume, it’s long lasting and a bit sweet – the combination of Guaiac and Oud gives this such a nice vibe with the labdanum to give some spicy sweetness and the rest is just magic – fortunately this is a more affordable Boadicea perfume

Wore this scent last morning, spend the whole day without respraying and went on a 70kms highway ride. I'm wearing the shirt again because it still smells as if I just sprayed it. Scent/Sillage/Longevity-100

Some people really have to check their nose if the think this is similar or has a similar scent profile as Sauvage Elixir - I love both but they are very different to me

To me, this is a lavender and rosewood heavy TF oud wood. Almost a summer version of the same. Smells amazing in the air. Above average sillage. Shukran Habibi!

Magnificent, confidence boost scent

The most beloved of all scents from the house of Boadicea is this powdery Oriental beauty showcasing one of the most beautiful English lavenders I have come across. The perfume opens with this gorgeous lavender surrounded by birch, rosewood and angelica. The brief heart is all floral with notes of freesia, rose, jasmine and geranium. The perfume settles on an ambery patchouli note surrounded by slight hints of sandalwood, labdanum, leather, oud, musk, guaiac and sandalwood. The overall feeling is of regal warmth just as the perfume is named. Unisex with moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. Enjoy!

On my skin it started out with a lovely smoky quality, but it quickly turned to antiseptic and celery seed - for me the angelica was just too strong. After dry down it did give me a lovely mix of woods with citrusy highlights and fleeting hints of florals. Though it doesn't feel right for a hot summer day which is when I was testing it, I will definitely put it into my rotation over the autumn and winter.

This is good. If you mixed Aventus and Beau du Jour tastefully, you may have a cousin to this. I keep asking myself if I should buy because it smells good or not because it’s not enough out of the Aventus umbrella (I love Aventus btw) and would be redundant? Anyhow this is well done, well blended, has depth and is nicely rounded. The more I wear the higher my rating goes.

Very fine, amber-leathery, dark-resinous oriental, with floral hints shimmering through it again and again. I see Imperial more in a woman who is not averse to overripe, fruity spices and oud. Fragrance: 8/10, Longevity 8/10, Sillage 8/10.

This is a slightly more nuanced and deeper version of Mancera’s excellent Red Tobacco. BTV’s version has an added petrol note that I love and reminds me of the petroleum note in vintage versions of Fahrenheit.

This has similarities to Gambit from Mind Games, but with less patchouli. It also shares some qualities with Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme, though it’s lighter on the incense. It’s just an alright fragrance.

This is something very masculine and oriental: lavender and geranium - stong barbershop scent; earthly woody notes and sweet oud. Not a big fan tbh.

Decent woody leather undone by an array of amberous, floral, resinous and oily nuance. Smells like spoiled makeup.

To me this smells like a niche version of ultra male. Like ultra male with a dash of Alexandria ii

All I get from this is another floral oud that on me seems quite feminine. Not what I expected at all. I get none of the depth and darkness I was looking for here. Disappointing. Scent: 2/5 Longevity: 4/5 Sillage: 3/5

This has all been done before , what makes it even worse is there is no projection at all its completely forgettable. I can't figure out why after sampling 50% of the fragrances from this house why it has luxury status they are even using plastic caps which I think is pretty insulting. They smell ok and this is ok but the problem is its just ok. I dont buy into the beast mode performance trend that's floating around every youtube video from every influencer on the planet because I think perfumers work gets lost in all that jargon but if you are a luxury house I think you have to push the fragrance to its limits and potential. I honestly think btv are just a status thing with only half hearted creations but as usual people who buy them honestly feel they are getting the best money can buy i am sorry to say this just is not even close to the best. I guess as long as people keep funding this house they will continue to really take the piss with pricing and not very well perfoming fragrances. Plastic cap is absolutely shocking at this level I just dont get that and it pretty much angers me its another reason I think they are taking the piss. Style over substance again and again from bodacea the victorious performance is just terrible which is a real shame because if they fixed performance issues and the cap thing and price themselves back in line with superior fragrance houses I think they would dominate the niche market !

Woody, yet floral. Spicy, yet fresh. Imperial introduces itself sharp and slightly off putting, but one must keep in mind that the house of Boadicea uses raw materials. Many of their blends smell very natural and often take time to unfold. The dry down is stunning. Rose is not a prominent note, but you can catch it peeking its petals through a full floral heart of this composition. The lavender here is so finely blended, that it doesn’t strike you as lavender. It has been merged with several other notes to forge something rather distinctive. I find that this fragrance smells almost completely different when smelling close range versus catching intermittent wafts. I was not immediately reminded of TF Oud Wood or Creed's Royal Oud, but find that it does fall into that category. If you smell hard enough, the oud and rosewood combination is reminiscent of Oud Wood. The 5 individuals here who compared Imperial to Angel A*Men may seem way off looking at the note scheme, but I do get very, very subtle whispers of A*Men 45 minutes into wear. Lavender, sandalwood and patchouli perhaps? Imperial may vaguely remind you of a few existing scents out there, but is definitely its own fragrance. Classy, unique and high profile. Imperial will take you on a thrilling olfactory journey.

Not your average warm and comforting fragrance, this is a busy perfume with tons of labdanum to spare on the skin. Imperial has occasional woody moments but never seems to eclipse the warm wind of amber that never seems to go away. At times, I struggled to pinpoint exactly what I was smelling. I have to give the creater props, definitely had me on the ropes. I didn't find the spices too overbearing hence why I refer to this as a comforting scent. Spices basked in all that aromatic glory assists in the intricacy of this frag. Longevity wasn't an issue for me, clocking in at 7 or so hours. There's a lot of different ways for me to describe this frag. I'm curious to see what you guys think....

This is really gorgeous and alluring to me. By that I mean that every time I catch a whiff it kind of delights me. I can smell the lavender, or that lavender was involved in creating the scent this has, for it no longer smells like lavender because of the magic of perfumery. This is nothing like Oud Wood nor Oud For Greatness and in fact I can't smell any oud in here. Even if I could the character of this fragrance is completely different from that of those. OFG is slightly gourmand in the way BR540 is and Oud Wood is not at all sweet. I believe I love this perfume, however I will be patient enough to see if I wear through my decant and if I will want a FB.

I sprayed this on the back of my hand and now I can’t stop smelling it. Lavender is prominent in the opening and then settles into a warm amber, patchouli, rose and jasmine scent. There’s a blend of labdanum and wood to help give it weight, it’s a well balanced perfume. No surprise that the perfumer is Christian Provenzano. It’s the sort of perfume which makes you want to get dressed up and go out, just to fully appreciate it.

I get the B Men and jubilation references below but, to me, this goes much deeper than both. Definitely an accord that's tough to put a finger on each note as it comes through but this is a somewhat fruity rose oud and it's definitely a winner. It does stay somewhat linear throughout but that is not at all a bad thing . Everything I've tried from Boadicea just spells quality, they make some pretty serious stuff.

This is like a few fragrances I've had, have or tried. It's one of those really smooth, mass appealing Ouds. It's like one of my favorite Byredo Oud Immortel. It's an easy oud, with some smooth leather. The florals are nuances that just further smooth out the fragrance, and make it very pleasant. Its a Fall and Winter fragrance, leans masculine. Opens with the rosewood, lavender primarily and more distant geranium, rose, white florals, birch. Settles into an oudy, woody (rosewood, gaiacwood, birch), floral fragrance with cypriol. The florals are mostly white and I don't get much rose by the dry down. I do also still get some lavender Not bad but the combo in the dry down smells kind of forgettable

I can see the similarity when it comes to Dior Sauvage Elixir, but Imperial is a lot better, and the oud aspect also makes Imperial a lot more refined and natural. Even though I call this scent refined, it’s not a scent that works for me personally. A failed blind buy. My bottle is up for purchase if interested.

I am sure there are some sweet notes in here as i can smell the berries quite clear! mingled with agarwood, and oud in particular, something like a French type of oud with doses of patchouli & amber. Impressive but be aware this is quite strong and heavy. Worth the try for dark creamy scents lovers.

On my skin opinion it links to Agent Provocateur and MFK Our Silk Mood. Rose with patchouli, dry woods and musk. Imperial had the richest and detailed way of playing the theme. Need to double check that but it's seems on my skin MFK has better longevity and projection in comparison to BTV.

Most of the reviewers here are males. This is a cologne that will be liked by males. I tried it and most females around me did not care for it. It’s not a crowd pleaser either. So try it first. It’s not that good if you like me wear your scents for complements.

Oud-rose with BdV signature. Not sure if it's my cup of tea but I could see rich man vibe here. Top note of Imperial reminds me of - D'orsay TJ. Will use up that one first.

Smoother and more sophisticated version of Mugler's B*Man for 5x the price. It is gooood though. If you really like B*Man and have $250.- laying around go for it!

Ajmal Amber wood is a great copy of this and lasts a super long time. However Imperial is superior in quality when you have them side by side. I own both !

I LOVE this one. I love that it’s quite underrated, very easy to wear and “simple” yet also feels very majestic. One of my favourites from BTV.
