Invigorating

(This review is for Eau de Perfume) INVIGORATING is not a typical sweet fruity gourmand. I would call it more of an Aromatic Gourmand. Boadicea the Victorious perfumes remind me so much of northern woods with Nordic rugged landscape and this one fits the family quite well. It has strong wintergreen or perhaps balsamic fir feel with just a slight dark chocolate accord. The opening is very aromatic with almost medicinal and balsamic feel with bergamot, yuzu, pepper and very faint licorice. I do not get chocolate at all in the top notes. The opening reminds me of an evergreen forest with balsamic firs, pine trees and fresh wintergreen aroma. The scent warms up and softens a bit when getting to the heart notes. However the geranium presence is quite strong and a bit harsh on me. I get faint wave of dark chocolate but it is very subtle. The fragrance continues with the same aromatic wintergreen or balsam fir presence into the base notes with the dark chocolate becoming more noticeable. This fragrance almost reminds me of dark and salty chocolate served with the balsamic fir garnish at this point. This is true unisex fragrance. The sillage and longevity are fine. This is not my type of fragrance but it has good quality ingredients, and feels natural, relaxing and pleasant.

That blend of citrus fruits with resins and labdanum is SO sharp its quite ridiculous. I can't tell you how much this scent reminds me of absinthe or wormwood it's almost like menthol vapours, reminiscent of some sort of smelling salts for reviving the unconscious. So 'Invigorating' is a totally appropriate name for this juice. I wouldn't call this fruity as such the resinous, balsamic quality is more apparent than anything. The drydown is thankfully mellower than the opening. This is NOT at all for beginners, I think you have to be pretty seasoned to appreciate it...it's not my thing but It's not outside my realm of understanding. So yet another great scent from this house. Boadicea keeps on performing, I've not encountered a fragrance yet that I've been underwhelmed by but they have plenty so there's still time. Would I wear Invigorating? No, not my cup of tea.

Floral fruity gourmand? Erm, no. This is more of an amber vanilla as far as I'm concerned. It's resin/ Labdanum heavy with citrus, dark chocolate and liquorice. I can't detect any of the floral notes apart from geranium, but that is probably down to how well blended it is. I really enjoy the contrast between resin and citrus. They make it a very interesting wear and I do find it invigorating. Longevity and silage are STRONG, so go easy on the trigger or you'll find it too overpowering. Unisex (albeit more masculine leaning) and best suited to Autumn/Winter or frosty Spring days when Snowdrops and Narcissi are starting to bloom.

INVOGORATING. As ADVERTISED. Beautiful scent and different, very strong, maybe 2 sprays on each hand and or neck. I sprayed it on about 3 hours ago still waiting for it to die down. We will see but so far its pretty nice.....deep, and INVIGORATING. Bodicea the Victorious can step up the packing though...very cheap.lol....for the amount of money you pay whether in L or $ packaging has to be a lot better.....presentation is a low 2...scent a 8 out of 10.

Definitely not in gourmand territory with this one. Invigorating is more of a citrus aromatic to my nose. The amber note is beautiful against the top notes. More suited to Spring and Summer months imho. I do like it, but not enough to fork out so much money for a full bottle. I will probably keep a tester from the official website in my collection for when the mood hits. Performance is good.

Only a few times in my "perfume life" have i felt the need to compete with my fragrance. As I sit here, I literally feel under-dressed while wearing this scent. As advertised, this is a exotic fruity gourmand that is equally elegant in its own right. Looking at the perfume pyramid above, all i can do is laugh. On my skin, the order in which i inherit the notes are in reverse. For those that are leery of the flowery side of Invigorating, no need to worry. You won't walk around smelling like a florist. If you're a person that works in a close space with employees of the opposite sex, BEWARE! Although not for everyone, this can certainly get you in trouble.

Delicious, excellent fragrance, refined, and individuals for special moments, the taste of resin come mouth and makes you feel like a millionaire from the east. It's a shame that it is lacking in longevity and projection on my skin, being very expensive leaves much to be desired, but the fragrance itself is very good and well prepared. I rank it well: Smell: 9/10 Projection: 6.5/10 Longevity: 7.5/10

Loved the opening but not the dry down; this goes on well blended with a tiny hint hint of citrus and a a little floral in the top but mainly some lovely amber; I thought, "Wow, I might love this as much as Jul et Mad's Amour de Palazzo. But, it was not to be. Quickly, it turned into a men's aftershave like something my dad would have worn.

Fruity gourmand? I have a 50mil bottle as a complimentary purchase from the website and I am very thankful. Every single time I wear this I got complements. It might be how good it fusion with my body chemistry but truth is I will probably always have it in my collection.

Two fragrances come to mind when I try this again for the fourth time: Tauer's Orange Star and Parfums d'Empire Wazamba. However, as much as I like these, I dislike this Invigorating blend. It is a fruity incensey scent which has that citrus tangy effervescence of the Tauer but where Orange Star is very original and a statement of a scent, this is sweet and annoying like a marmalade with a few more spoons of sugar than recommended. I can't deny the Tauer is hard to wear, but this reaches cloying status. With Wazamba it shares the balsamic background which interacts with the sweet fruit. The problem here is that the incense struggles with the jammy fruit without becoming more prominent so that the effect is a jarring fight that ends up in a mess. Wazamba overcomes the fruity syrup at the beginning to allow a wonderful incense gran finale that is breathtaking really. Here it's fruity mess all the way... Both Wazamba and Orange Star are difficult scents to wear for me but the blend is in both cases well done so as to get a distinctive strong incense in the former and an avant garde radioactive fizzy orange bomb in the second. Unfortunately, Invigorating smells close to both but it is neither interesting nor well blended.

I was so eager to try Invigorating and so disappointed now that I did it.Invigorating could be a developed version of Seductive or Explorer,it seems ''finished''.I don't know if Boadi loves fir,pine needles,pine tree but the fact is that already 3 of his perfumes,Seductive,Explorer and now Invigorating contain large dozes of fir and pine.I don't get anything gourmand,I can't smell dark chocolate or yuzu.All I get is fir,pine with a hint of yuzu.Now Smell This describe it as a warm and ''happy''fragrance.I feel like an old man wearing this(watch out,I said old man,not even woman!).It reminds me of muscle pain pomade,that's how it smells on me.Lasting power is very good,sillage is medium.

This fragrance should've been an instant love for me. When I first applied it, I was greeted by a burst of brightness: orange, licorice, and general citrusy smells were delightfully grounded by a sprig of licorice and the barest hint of amber. Within an hour, the brightness had faded in to a pleasurable warmth; the amber, resin, and muskier scents took over. An hour after that... ...nothing. This perfume lasted for less than two hours on my skin. I thought maybe it was a fluke--I was sniffing it in on my wrists, and I wash my hands frequently--so I dabbed some closer to my elbow. Nada. Such a shame!

This one’s really a bit hard to bear. An okay short opening with the rest being stale and irritating to my nose. Just the opposite of the name, this one put me in the mood of wanting to go hibernate.

This is a glorious winter green scent if ever i smelled one. I'm wearing this on a Friday night, and an hour into it I burst into light hearted, giddy thoughts. Yes, this fragrance makes you HAPPY!!! It's now at the four hour mark, and I can still detect the winter green, but I noticed it was sliding into stinkland. My first thought was 'vetiver', which isn't listed, so I'm not sure. This still lingers in the morning as a faint, green scent. So fresh and crisp! This is quite a quirky gem, a true mood lifter, and a fun way to spend a sniffing session. Try it! Edit #2: this is Guerlain's Boise Torride all over again. On first wearing, both are pure wood (evergreen for Invigorating and cedar for Torride). But on second wearing, which is when the nose can't be fooled, the gourmand note creeps in. Now I can smell that chocolate, and just like Torride, my feelings of loved have waned.

A most beautiful hit of citrus and resinous amber with a delicious hint of bitter dark chocolate. It is dazzling and I love to wear it daytime in Winter months. I don't consider it a floral fruity gourmand either. It is very amber/citrus dominant. Follow it though to evening by switching to Chanel's Coromandel and you'll be one very classy lady or gentleman. It is long lasting with strong silage so a little is all you need to carry you throughout the day. Because of this I have found it full bottle worthy despite the price tag. I think it leans masculine but who cares. It smells great.

wow! it's a mystery how certain smells can make you yearn and give that brutal juicing effect to your heart. my man (we got into a huge disagreement) however, when I smell invigorating I get that brutal juicing in my heart. the perfume itself is extremely unique, to me is connected with a lot of memories. but whoever wants a special scent, should give this a try.

Amazing, beautiful and very very unique!!!! Lasted a long time on my skin! It also smells very expensive! Dark and sexy!! Very animalistic as well! I'm glad I treated myself to the 100ml bottle! Worth every pound!££££ just not happy with the very loose cap, it falls of!!

Not sure I’d class this as fruity gourmand...on me I smell the citrus with flowers and a bit of liquorice. It’s zesty reminds me vaguely of one of the hermes (jardin sur le nil?) my mum used to wear

This could have been lancome or any other sweet lady's perfume brand. Fruity floral , pleasant, but nothing special that you cant find on the market.
