Joyous

Gummy bears!... there's got the be some gummy bears in here... It has that dry gummy bears mild sweet mixed with hints of cardamom, soft leather, and a touch orange blossoms. The the ambergris, and cedar are there then they are just wasted! i mean, i can't detect neither and putting them in is like adding extra that has no effects! This blend honestly is quite love at first sight, but i don't know wither if it will remain still as love! cause previously Chelsea was a love and now i wouldn't buy it if it were more than 50$. Let's test it one more time.

This fragrance delivered a happy feeling from the beginning to the end. The opening as promised, you get the coriander and bit of cardamom with florals supporting the composition for around a full hour during this time you are projecting an aura of elegance and sophistication. From the mid to dry down it change to a salty and slightly woody scent but ( still ) a touch of flowers. Stay like this for around 9 hours. To me it’s a perfect and extremely versatile fragrance. I will give it a : 8/10. Would I buy it again? Yes

I've had so many amazing experiences with fragrances that are more than the sum of their parts, that combine the notes in interesting and unexpected ways that surprise you. This fragrance is the sum of its parts, though the parts are all lovely. When I saw the notes I became obsessed with smelling this and bought a decant on Rich & Luxe. It's got a great creamy, bright white floral vibe as you would expect from the notes and a nice salty drydown. But it does not transcend. If it were half the price and easier to find I might be in.

@Greyfax There are two separate entries to Joyous because, incredulously, Boadicea The Victorious at one point released TWO separate fragrances named Joyous. This version of Joyous was part of a localized Italian line to commemorate the Mediterranean culture before being made available worldwide. As stated, it was a white floral fragrance highlighted by orange blossom and neroli. Not only do I know someone who purchased this version, but I also accidentally purchased it overseas from La Maison du Parfum in pursuit of the one you mentioned (which featured Indian saffron, myrrh, and agarwood). Boadicea is notorious for its massive catalog and tendency to release "collections" that sometimes overlap in naming before they are fully finalized for global markets. In this case, it released this white floral fragrance in the spring of 2019 and the saffron and agarwood fragrance that fall as part of the Spirit Collection, which included Pure Narcotic and Back to Paradise. Boadicea realized that two vastly different scents with the exact same name were a customer service and marketing nightmare. The company reportedly pulled both to "re-evaluate" the naming structure but instead opted to move on.

#1670 in my “Tour de Fragrance” There is another listing for “Joyous” at https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Boadicea-the-Victorious/Joyous-20696.html and that listing is definitely not the Joyous I have. I kind of wish it were as I like those notes better. I got this sample from scentsplit.com. The only Boadicea scent I’ve felt compelled to purchase so far is “Complex” from the “Courage” collection, which I found on sale at $160 instead of its usual $350 plus. With its combination of incense, olibanum, leather, resin and agarwood it is the most potently masculine men’s fragrance in my extensive collection. It lasts for days and it’s one of the their least expensive offerings. This scent is way more feminine, floral, sweet, so I suspect women are the intended audience. It’s nice, but not something I’d wear. Especially not at $600+. I’ll give this sample away to a female friend. [Update: Passed this around to four different women and asked them, “What would you expect to pay for a 100ml bottle of this scent?” $70 was the highest bid.] Good Luck and Good Hunting!
