Pride

The opening is a delicious and ever so slightly tart green apple laced with cardamom, vanilla, iris, and a fruity patchouli. It's opening is very pleasant, and you can smell the iris and red berries right away. I smell Evernyl which is an oakmoss synthetic replacement that I'm very familiar with, and it's used seamlessly here. Beyond that transition which comes quickly, the heliotrop kicks in along with rose, jasmine, tonka, and a maybe touch of benzoin that isn't gourmand. Orris is present throughout but it never reminds me of a make up bag. That's how everything unfolds on my skin, I don't get any amber or musk but it's certainly possible it's here and just blended in well. It's worth mentioning that I believe there's ISO E Super here in the base giving it a ever so slight woody vibe. The composition feels distinctly red to me in the drydown. Like red berries or even a strawberry, and iris. Not quite gourmand, but very seductive. Overall, a very pleasant perfume that smells expensive, and leans slightly 55/45 feminine, although I'm a man and didn't have much problem wearing it. This house is over hyped and overpriced in my opinion, but this one is well made by a skilled perfumer. Performance could be better as it's length is about 6 hours before requiring a refresh. On clothes it's much longer, but I prefer skin. -------------------------------------------------------- Scent 88/100 Performance 65/100

It starts with a sparkling lemon-apple-boost and later it develops a perfect harmony between the patchouli-amber and tonka-pepper-cardamon notes. Vanilla makes the scent a little bit brighter and shinier and I really get a positive energy of this beautiful perfume and makes me smile everytime I get a whiff of. The drydown is divine and I also love the powdery smell which develops after a certain wearing time. Boadicea's Black Collection is worth to try and it has not disappointed me so far! The 2 other masterpieces I have are Lunar and Angelic.
