Tiangou

This is outstanding and one of few Boadicea offerings that you can applaud them for. It’s strange that not many are speaking about it, absolute perfection. Sadly the retail price and lack of availability stops me from buying this but I hope one day will find a good deal to add it to my collection.

BIG huge explosive spicy opening!! You get it all! Cinnamon, saffron, rum, cloves! Absolutely dank opening! Such a smooth transition to a sexy sexy sexy base!

This is probably my favorite BTV. A beautiful cold weather scent. Vanilla, caramel, tobacco and some spice. It’s an attention getter.

Named after the legendary dog creature from China that ate the sun or moon to create an eclipse,Tiangou is one of those rare perfumes that you just have to try it to understand it, I perceive it as a sweet amber of high density soaked in a cocktail of exotic spices. The luxurious feel and complexity of the fragrance brings to mind the precious essences carried along the ancient trading routes. The scent opens on a fusion of fiery saffron and cardamom set against savory cinnamon and cloves, The superb amalgamation of spices carries through the heart and into the base, dragging a subtle hint of rose and heliotrope on their way into the immensely rich foundation, formed by the combination of patchouli, tobacco and musk, cocooned in the pillowy sweetness of vanilla and amber. Tiangou is a vivid portrait of the Orient.

Well I made the critical mistake of ordering a sample of this one from Boadicea. Ordering a sample of a $1,200 fragrance comes with the risk of really liking it and having to have it. And that’s precisely what happened. This is a grand slam from Boadicea. The article here on this site from 2018 states that Saffron, Rose, and Musks are the dominating notes. I don’t get that at all. What I get is a masterful tobacco with hints of clove and rum, and that’s about it. Either way, this is one of the best offerings ever from Boadicea and I simply have to get a bottle.

this one is incredible! super strong and complex. So complex that it is overwhelming the first tries. This is really one that needs time and efforts but the reward is amazing. Again, i didn t like it at first. Too strong and overwhelming. Too many notes. But i had to buy it after two wears of a large sample.

I blind bought this and oh my oh my, the spices (esp the cinnamon) wouldn’t let go from top notes to base notes...quite challenging to me. Sample before you buy
