I can only wear this when the leaves & plants are lush & filled w/ juice, but it's great when that's the case. Also, it works well when it's raining, especially if you layer it w/ a mitti attar. I'm not personally nuts about the fig leaf note in a general sense, but it works well for me in Bogue 20 when my local climate's right, so maybe late May through until stuff's less lush & green outside. People grow figs in my area (lower NY & Zone 7 for gardens), & we're @ the same latitude as Naples, Italy. Like I said, not a big fig/fig leaf note guy, but I tell myself about the climate where I'm from b/c it does work well. Maybe I feel like that b/c my wife's NY Italian & I'm not, & b/c they're the fig growers here? Whatever. Anyway, it's a green & spicy fragrance, it's sweet in a green/sappy way, & it's deep/multifaceted, masculine, vibrant, & pleasant. I like using it more than describing it, but that's only when I'm feeling the vibe & the weather's right. Cheers!

Bogue 20 belongs somewhere in between perfumer Antonio Gardoni's best efforts such as Maai and Tyrannosaurus Rex, and some of his more modest scents such as Allegreto 7.2. As is typical for Gardoni, the number of notes is huge and I cannot say in good faith I can detect them all by any stretch. What I can say is that not a beast mode fragrance. I find it subtle, long-lasting,and bottle worthy. It's interesting that it smells dramatically different than Bogue 10, which uses the same notes but yields a much lighter, cleane,r and fresher effect. For those who have never tried a Bogue fragrance this might be a wonderful place to start. Some might find Maai or Mem to be a bit too strong and syrupy. Bogue can be worn any time of year, day or night. It leans a bit masculine but anyone could wear it.

A reworking of the cologne 10 with more concentrated and varied strength of ingredients in an EDP concentration, this is a typical Bogue vintage style floral benzoin scent. The scent opens with notes of citruses, green notes , and lavender. It moves to a floral heart highlighted by jasmine, lily and tagetes. The perfume settles on a dense powdery benzoin base with hints of other woody notes and resins. The unisex scent has moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. Tradition meets modern in a scent reflective of the style of this house. This time it’s dense and more reflective of offerings like MEM and OE even though the note structure is similar to the lighter cologne. Enjoy!

At first, VERY fresh vegetal spice. Literally smells like a spicy crushed leaf. Then, warm/ambery/resinous pages of an old book. Dry down is a little bit too perfumey for me, slightly offensive.

Someone below said this might be one of his best offerings, i'd have to agree. So what makes this so good? Firstly, the opening is *drum roll*.......FRESH AND SPICY! The opening feels forest green and has a sweet undertone provided by the Ylang Ylang and citruses. These fruit notes are used like flavoring and helps balance all of the spicy trimmings. Underneath the green is a very subtle smokey aspect, a little oak wood, a touch of rose, while providing that animalic balance. This is a personality trait kind of fragrance that would definitely define who you are and what you're about. 20 feels confident and mature. The accord lineup suggest as such. It takes a moment for the warm spices to arrive, but once they do, they are a pale version of the quintessential amber you may experience in summarily warm compositions. The fresh spices are always in rotation with 20edp no matter what stage this perfume is in therefore, it overshadows any other burgeoning vibe. The jasmine notes tries its best to convince you that this could possibly be unisex but this is all about green, zing, zip and zest.
