Lagoon

I stumbled upon the rollerball version of Lagoon in a tchochke shop the other day and I fell in love. It is a rather linear scent, but I think this is a lovely, yummy vanilla! Its sweet but not cloying or saccharine. Not too "baby prostitue"-esque like many vanillas can sometimes be. It has some of the bones that feel reminiscent of mix between Chinotto Gourmand by Abaton and Lira by Casamorati but more "hippy"- Lagoon is no dupe for either, though. It's like she just started her spiritual awakening and is getting into reading tarot cards and palo santo smudging or whatever. She collects crystals and wears those sacrilegious wide-brimmed hats. She does mushrooms at burning man and is going to Bali for her first spiritual retreat. A review from a boy: "This is nice. It's alright. Doesn't really blow my mind. It smells good, but this smells like something a ho would wear" i'm CRINE LMAOOOOOO 😭 Longevity and sillage are definitely not there. Probably 3-5 hrs tops. Doesn't die like a dog on the skin as I can still catch whiffs of it when I put my arm to my nose but don't expect any horsepower. I actually feel this would be great to layer with. The citrus and caramel are so so so good in here- can't really detect much oud but i enjoy how it helps round out the sweetness so everything is well-balanced. You can tell that the perfumer put a lot of quality and detail into creating this. Overall, I love Lagoon as a sweet, easy, everyday staple I can throw in my bag and apply when I need a pick-me-up or want to smell nice.
