1920 Extreme

I think it's apt to address the strongest comparison being made. This is very much like Zino. There are some subtle differences, but for many this will feel like a "softer" version of Zino. Zino is the most abundant fragrance in my collection, with many backup bottles I've accumulated over the past 2 years. So I know this fragrance very well. Ounce per ounce, there's a clear winner on value: Zino. However, Bois 1920 Extreme is a truly pleasant variation on this spicy sandalwood accord. It takes the best qualities of Zino and accentuates them, and achieves a wonderful lighter aroma without patchouli and rose. That's about the simplest way I can put it. If you really like Zino and sandalwood, you will definitely enjoy this... In fact, if you *want* to love Zino but patchouli stands in the way, here's your answer! Yes, that's right -- there's no patchouli in this (would have thought it did, actually--Zino rubbed off on me a bit too much). The only downside is longevity. Zino lasts maybe 25~40% longer. So I'd venture to say if you enjoy both, Zino is for cooler months and Extreme is for the warmer ones. Fragrance: 9.3, Longevity: 7.1, Value: 7.5

This smells like a Perfum version of Davidoff's Zino. It's really, really close. Thicker and maybe it's a tad smoother, and dries down a bit slower. A perfected Zino? Maybe but even vintage Zino can be had for a fraction of the price. I love Zino and if I was rich I'd be happy to have Bois 1920 Extreme. I can't say it's better then Zino even if cost was equal. But if you love Zino and have money to blow go for it. Quality stuff. It's like the difference between Terre D' Hermes EDT and EDP. It has a thickness and weight that sometimes can be preferred. Edit: Tried this again today. Just love this stuff. Really surprised there is no tobacco listed. I distinctly smell it strongly in the middle stages. The bourbon vanilla drydown is really something else.

It is a true masterpiece: original, classy, different, high quality I find most of their perfumes to be a bit on the lighter and less impressive side but this one is the exception BTW, it is not the same at all as the regular Bois 1920

This is a beauty after the first 10 min. The lavender - sandalwood combo keeps it powdery and smooth and the tonka - vanilla rein in the sweetness...too little jasmine to really matter. This is delish .

Bois 1920 Extreme is quite a good suprise. The opening is definitely manly with bitter and smoky green herbaceous accord (sorry but I don't get any fern here). It has a retrò-feel that I quite appreciate. In the drydown it developes to a sweeter velvety bourbon frangrance with Vanilla and Tonka Beans. The whole fragrance is well balanced, warm, absolutely comfortable and elegant. Although Extreme is a quite intense perfume it's not overwhelming and the Bourbon gives the Vanilla and Tonka Beans end a nice character and an exra touch of luxury. I don't know how it would be on a woman, but it's perfect on a man. Like it. Rating: 7-7.5/10

For me, in the opening, I get lots of green woodsy vibes. A bit of lavender shines through as well. It’s a very nice fougere that doesn’t lean too old school. I find it’s much more masculine leaning then feminine. It projects on my skin very well for about two hours and then sits a bit closer for several more. Even at 12 hours I can still smell this as a skin scent. It never gets astringent on my skin and the dry down is where it gets a light powdery note with just a hint of vanilla/tonka. Overall it’s a nice composition that has a smell of quality ingredients.

Pitbull friend's description of "boozy" is an accurate one. I think it would make a great summer scent option for men who typically prefer woody-orientals. It has a lighter feel to it than I expected, and it smells delicious. A tad on the masculine end of the spectrum for a unisex scent, though. I think the lavender note is pushing it in that direction, ever so slightly. Overall, it feels so well done that I wonder if I might still be able to get away with wearing it. I must add that when my fiance tested it, it lasted approximately 24 hours on his skin.

A bit too powdery and soapy for my taste. Maybe the jasmine, which I like as a real flower, but not as fond of in perfume. I'll take a pass, though I will say that it got better after the first hour or so. By evening still a soft skin smell and more likable for me. Think also that I was hoping for more spicy, not so sweet, so the tonka and vanilla were leaning too sweet. If I want "to die for" sweet I have my signature scent Elixir Charnel Gourmand Coquin Guerlain, which is SO much better. That said, this is a lovely scent in general.

I get a green, fresh and clean patchouli (not a listed note) when I smell this. Perhaps it's the geranium coupled with the clary sage and sandalwood. Either way, this is a fresh and classic fougere. It's slightly herbaceous and spicy and an overall mature scent. Great for the office. I don't recommend this for summer 35+

weird... I could have sworn that there is leather in this composition! Well, I find it manly and femme-fatale type at the same time. It is a gothic fragrance to me! With time I get more geranium and lavender and that is still fine. I would not say it is a woody perfume. Does not smell woody to me.

I can see the comparisons to Zino and Frank No2 but not Heritage. I get about 7-8 longevity on skin and average projection. Bois1920 Extreme is not extreme so don't worry.

I'm a woman and I absolutely love it. I'm sure it smells good on a man too but on me it smells heavenly. Not too masculine at all.

Great wet wood blended with nice jasmine in a sandalwood-vanilla-cedar base, wow! 8/10

Much better than Zino Davidoff! Good performance and justifies its price. With Dolce di Giorno, the best fragrance of this house. In the top 15 fougere perfumes.

Indeed "Extreme". This IMO is not for women....and I wouldn't want a man to smell like this either. The more unisex scents I try, the more I get the impression, it's just about being harsh, loud and stinky? This is horrible.

To my surprise, Bois 1920 1920 Extrême is quite different from Bois 1920 Classic 1920. As usual in perfume naming, the epithet 'extreme' does not mean diddly, as we have here an entirely different perfume from the original. For one thing, Extrême is a lot more floral, and a lot less masculine, to the point where I'd positively affirm that this composition is truly unisex. The geranium really looms large to my nose, and together with the other aromatic and floral components--including sage and jasmine--I find this to be a gorgeous floral-herbal blend. Gone is the "cologne guy" vibe which made Classic 1920 seem so Creedy and stereotypical to me. The lavender is quite low key, which I generally find to be a good thing... I also do not find Extrême to be overwhelmingly woody. 1920 Extrême is a felicitous discovery, and I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews. Maybe people have become habituated to abstract, streamlined, aromachemical creations to the point where they find natural essences rough hewn? This creation is definitely potent, but it's also well blended and pleasing to the nose. To me, this smells great, but it's probably worth pointing out that after a bath and before retiring I often reach for the two Aveda Chakras (#2 and #6) which feature geranium, and I also sometimes mix geranium essential oil with lotion. So, yes, I'd say that geranium love is must for Bois 1920 1920 Extrême. Needless to say, I'd love to have a bottle of this!

I love lavender specially when it smells fresh as if it were just freshly plucked and this lovely fragrance does not disappoint. Some might not be used to this kind of lavender as it starts off a bit bitter and astringent but therein lies the beauty of the note itself. Soon after the lavender settles, the whole composition becomes floral, spicy, herbal and green. I definitely pick up on geranium and fern. There's really no doubt about it -- this is a fougere as it clearly reminds me of Vintage Agua Lavanda just more refined and a bit sweeter. With sandalwood and vanilla added to help construct balance to the austerity of the lavender and the herbalness. I feel this one radiates heat and sweetens up depending on body chemistry. On my first wearing it was lightly sweet, on my second wearing it was even sweeter. This one is probably best suited for winter.

Opens with a heady cedar and lavender which transitions to a gorgeous slightly powdery floral with spices in the accord. The lavender balances out the scent from beginning to end on my skin, and it is a lovely soft note through it all. Cedar gives it a stability, making a great backdrop for the other notes. Very slightly reminds me of Penhaligon's Endymion - probably because my nose is attuned to the lavender. Good sillage and longevity. This is a perfume I could wear anytime anywhere! Lovely! P.S. Have now worn this for a few more days and it is one of my new all time favorites. It's so easy to wear, and I love when I catch its scent as my clothes move.

As the name implies this is extremely strong. Very few scents has the longevity and throw of the 1920's beast.Me and habby tested and although it's an alluring perfume it's way too much and it lacks balance. We both love the opening green and bright as if you get a good dose of mountain air. But in a sec the jasmine kicks in, and although it's not skunky or indolic it's just too rich. The drydown is velvety and luxurius with the full adition of tonka bean.good scent just a bit overpowering.

The opening is awesome, the middle is heaven, and the longevity is to die for. What a fragrance! Men, you are in for a treat. I own 10 Bois 1920 fragrances and it is becoming EXTREMEly hard to choose which to wear!!!! Extreme is very manly and woodsy, with a hint of vanilla. I do get the slightly green appeal also as the fragrance evolves. This was a blind buy, and I am glad I did. Men, use sparingly because you really don't need much to let anyone know you are in the room!

Well, I sampled this and ordered the EDT. But the juice is kind of light campared to photos of the EDT. I found out it was reformulated into an EDP with a lighter colour, one matching my sample. So I'm confused. I can buy the EDP but have heard It's rubbish. @Dosplaya, do you know which one you sampled this year, other posts here are older. I really love the sample. Can anyone share more information please?

I get well blended and semi resinous woods, patchouli and amber. You would think this is a classic masculine fragrance , like YSL Tuxedo, but I find this unisex. A strong fragrance that is not too loud and appropriate for a fancy restaurant and for someone established and calm. Nice, but does not speak to my character, maybe it will work for you. 4 to 6 hours longevity, fair projection

If my Dad didnt rock davidoff zino as his signature scent, I could appreciate this one much more. As it is, I would say this is an exceptional fragrance and puts zino to shame, despite the remarkable similarity. I would recommend this frag as a night out scent and for close combat as it is very commanding. My Score 8

Opens very modern smelling with the herbs and citruses; then the more it dries the more classic it smells, but never truly classic(i.e. dated.) I get Patchouli(not listed!) and Sandalwood. It's more suited for a man imo. Nice everyday scent for a mature man.

Smells like tamed vintage Zino and one dimensional. 8/10
