Itruk

Itruk Bois 1920 Scents from this house isn't easily available here in Singapore except from a few local online sources. Prices are not good either. Came across this in a warehouse sale and I grabbed a 50ml bottle on a blind purchase after checking out the notes profile, after all it's 50 Singapore dollars (Usd 39) for a 50ml of a rather unique scent profile Bois 1920. Opens spicy, bitter pungent and resinous. Nice and not that challenging to wear. The opening is accompanied by woody earthiness and spicy sweetness and light flora. I'll say it's scent profile is dark dry spicy and earthy with flora support. Some wearers says it has similarities to Tom Ford Noir (I have a bottle too). Some similarities but not same as TF Noir has strong and sharp violets opening and is more musculine. Itruk seems easier to wear. I also get the incense much earlier so makes me wonder why it's a drydown note... Itruk is a polarising scent as it's drydown is light Ambery with light weighed incense. Don't really get the vanilla and tonka as it's just light incensey Ambery for the drydown. Projection is really great off skin and clothes with good amount of silage. Longetivity is decent skin scent after 4-5 hours. Not too bad. Pretty sure this will get it's love and likes this Italian House is more popular.

#994 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. Less floral than Tom Ford "Noir', more floral than Le Labo "Poivre 23 London." I like both of those scents. I prefer this by a lot. To me it's just right. It's got the incense and iris I always like, but they aren't dominant at all. No fruitiness or sweetness. More masculine but unisex enough for women. All day long lasting and strong projection. Nice price. Cooler weather. Probably would not be office wear for me. Wouldn't wear this in a car pool with this level of sillage which is room filling. Not joking. I just pulled the stopper out in my office and the whole office smells like this now. More a dinner date scent. I think it's a safe blind buy. Too strong for everyday wear, but it'll go in the rotation for dates, especially with outdoor dining. I'm in for a bottle.

Difficult to describe. It is kind of dark grey scent as the bottle suggests. It was a little bit sweet and later patchouli was turned on. But it vanishes quickly from my hand and shirt or it is noseblindness. I see comparisons with TF Noir. I sprayed my Noir Extreme on my other hand and was right: Itruk is very different from at least this version of Noir; NE is so much more sweeter and has more sillage too, Itruk is already gone but NE is strongly there, Itruk has some incense in it, NE doesn't have any. How Noir (not Extreme) smells, I don't know. In general, I think Itruk isn't quite the best from this house but as a scent of its own I like it.

Got noticed by at least 3 at work in a large room, so projectivity is great. One of my fellow workers said though that it smelled like wood cement, whatver that is suppes to smell like. I thought sillage was lacking but after another try it's not a problem. I wore at work but this is probably more suited for the evening. I laos have to be careful with how many sprays as it was a bit too strong for at least one of my co-workers.

Unique blend. Loud peppery in the opening...and then a smoky incense takes over. I find it to be only moderate sillage and longevity, not a beast for sure but kind of sioft for this type of fragrance. Seems like excellent quality ingredients. Could be worn daytime but best for the evening. Not one of my favorites but not bad.

First impression...This is excellent. This is a strong spicy patchouli and cardamom scent to me. I can perceive the pepper and incense but go me it's a supporting note. Mostly dry, with just the right amount of sweetness from the amber and vanilla. More to come...

bought it because of the positive comments about cardamom. well, comparison to the TF Noir is legit. they do smell very similar, maybe because the notes are almost same too. patchouli, cardamom, iris, nutmeg and else. Yet, Itruk leans more to fresh spicy, while the other is more powdery, therefore, a lot more potent and elegant, suitable for special occasions, but Itruk is not an ordinary, everyday scent either. After its release from the dungeon, the piquant queen cardamom stands out, shines and overpowers the supposed black pepper. However, in the first minutes, there's a potent vegetal, greengrocery scent, kind of coriander (the herb, not the seeds) which is not off-putting, still, detectable. I wonder whether it's cumin or juniper. it's rather linear, doesn't go through many stages, but not dull at all. makes me interested about the house and other products. I really liked it, so I won't delve to the longevity/projection stuff. Despite resembling an ancient Greek legend or God, the name is quite unique, when you look it up, it leads you to the fragrance only. Brilliant choice. The matte bottle, the colour, presentation is eye-catching and captivating. Side note: although not mentioned here, the perfumer behind is Enzo Galardi.

Although not listed as a note, I get strong resin all the way through this quality mix. Too bad I'm not a fan of resin. Performance is good also.

A lot of cardamom and incense. Leans on the austere side but has a very tiny pinch of sweetness as it dries. First impression is that I’m pretty neutral about it. Don’t love it but would have no problem wearing it. 7.3/10

2 years of owning this and only writing a review on it now. If you’ve smelt TF Noir then you’ll know what this smells like. Very similar to it, but this is simply better quality smelling. Natural and pure cardamom that’s not too dark and earthy, fresh black pepper that’s spicy and tingly, mixed with smoky incense. The vanilla comes to life in the dry down and gives it a nice sweet touch that’s needed in my opinion. Overall not the biggest fan of this but is amazing when I’m in the mood for it once in a blue moon.

This is dark, Cardamom, Pepper, with a bit of incense, Tonka beans, & Amber. It's kind of the smell of the Arabian nights under the starry shining sky on bed of moisturized dunes siting on that magical carpet and drinking Arabian coffee. quite a scene, an infatuating scene. Edit (21th April 2026) This is black pepper intense blend with more herbs. It is spicy nutmeg, Amberwood, patchouli, & cardamom. It's nice and not 100% what i have witnessed before! but when it cools down on my skin i started to see what i've seen 11 years ago! The Arabian nights under the starry shinning stars, with dusty dunes while sitting an enchanting burgundy and gold coloured carpet. Beautiful.
