Scuro

A full-throated (but vastly overpriced ) churchy incense that extends its scope from the cathedral to the woods, leaving a trail of delightful lemon, spice and pine needles in its wake. All too soon this glorious procession moves on, as this fragrance has disappointingly little staying power, recalling the short-lived impact of CDG's incense range. I could only get a full bottle of this if I had a very wealthy Sugar Daddy who made frequent visits to Bois 1920's little shop by Florence's Ponte Vecchio ... or if I wasn't fortunate enough to already own Sorcinelli's equally gorgeous LAVS and more complex Reliqvia, or Heeley's stunning Cardinal and heartbreakingly lovely Eau Sacree. With a quartet like that for company, I must simply count my blessings!

A very attractive incense. Mainly elemi, which I love, but fairly linear and meditative. Lasts a good while on clothes and performs well enough on skin for such a bright perfume. Not quite as austere as you'd expect a 'churchy' incense to be; pretty and cheerful, and great for this time of year. A real winner for me.

@frankcrummit You just have to take the 5 minutes to price this out with online discount retailers. I know of two places online that sell the 100ml for around $150 US.

#1772 in my “Tour de Fragrance” The Bois 1920’s I already own were all priced in the $60-$70 range, except for some reason “Scuro” and “Itruk” run $125-$135. I can sort of get it with Itruk. It’s a stand-in for Tom Ford’s “Noir.” But it costs the same as Noir, so why wouldn’t you just go for the original? This scent doesn’t really make much of an impression on me. Kinda citric woody with some incense. I really don’t get the price of this scent being $60 more than most of the line. This scent has no particular character or quality that makes it stand out from their $65 scents most of which I prefer to this. These are nice Bois 1920 scents I think are worth having on the shelf: Classic 1920, Oro Nero, Oro Rosso, Real Patchouly, Relativamente Rosso, Sacro E Profano, Vento Nel Vento. All are better scents than this. I would put this on par with three other Bois scents I’ve tried and found not worth owning: Centenario, Oltremare, Vento Di Fiore, I really wouldn’t bother with them. And I really would not bother with this. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

So I'm smelling this in the same time of writing this review, it's oily a bit on the skin so I don't recommend spraying it on clothes, you get a lot of pepper which smells quite natural so no soapy feel to it or synthetic feel, jasmine is behind to balance the pepper note, I don't get the cardamom, maybe the pepper+jasmine combo will yield a cardamom note aswell later. Will come back later in an edit with longevity, projection seems moderate in the 1st hour.
