Verde di Mare

The Ultima Thule of the Fragrant World. Every time I put on this scent I recall the words sung by David Coverdale in "Sailing Ships", quote: "... Take me with you, take me far away And lead me to the distant shore Sail your ship across the water Spread your wings across the sky..." There is so much resemblance between Mr. Coverdale's creative idea and my personal sentiment. The scent is very complex and ambigous. I can feel the floral chords, a hint of tea, as well as the wind. The wind at issue is indeed blowing from the cold (sic!) and rough sea, somewhere in the farthest corner of the North Atlantic Ocean, where in the Middle Ages the Vikings allegedly found the eulogized "Ultima Thule", giving credence to the fact that it was the end of their then world. The water is salty and crystal clear. Amidst the fog, a stately drakkar is showing faintly. The Könung is trying to see the outlines of the coast through the fog. He actually is having poor eyesight. Nonetheless, The Könung can sense very distinct smells; they are so rare to him and to the rest of his crew, even when taking into consideration their Norman origin. The icy water, sea salt, sea foam, unusually aromatic air, and the aforementioned - then not very distant - shore, where the Arctic flora absorbs the mist and exudes odours of flowers, moss, lichens, and algae; the blend of smells intertwines with those ephemeral marine fumes. Verde di Mare is The Ultima Thule in translation. Verde di Mare is one of my top summer scents. I'm very pleased and impressed by Bois 1920 house. So, so beautiful, fresh, floral, ozonic, citrusy-green, a stunning unisex summer scent! At the opening I get a strong iced sea note and almost together come to the surfsce the florals and the beautiful black currant which feels natural and safe. Sea, geranium and rose with blackcurrant, this is the opening. Then comes an intensive tea note and the lily of the valley which becomes one of the dominant florals as time passes. At this point it feels marginally unisex but I don't care, it smells heavenly good. Petitgrain, juniper and intensive tea note keep it unisex imo. A sophisticated citrusy note among with the greens and the florals lives till the end. There's also soft musk, mild carnation and bitter orange. It's not unique but it is masterfully blended with ingredients of high quality imo. It smells more expensive than it is. Smooth blend and totally safe for both genders. Performance is above the average, sillage & projection are moderate. Sea, florals and greens with some citruses. An absolute love for me.

A marine fragrance with strong notes of petitgrain, carnation and geranium in the open that add a bitter green edge I find addicting. It’s very aromatic and this quality almost overwhelms the sea notes but they manage to keep a presence in the background. The berry note in here is tart as well and just adds a tiny bit of tanginess. I find it completely unisex at this stage although maybe the bitter notes could be construed as masculine, but when the rose comes in it adds such a feeling of depth and restrained florality it perfectly balances the bitter. After awhile the rose becomes deeper and more dominant and it’s like the fragrance completely changes to a more feminine version of itself. I love the transitions to this you get so many faces in one perfume. Beautiful and refreshing and shows to its best advantage in hot weather.

Verde di Mare by Bois 1920 is how I imagine a vintage Mediterranean pirate would smell! It smells of wooden planks beaten by waves of salty ocean water that have dried in the sun. A pleasant lily of the valley top notes that mixes with the sweetly spicy black currant, bitter black tea, and the slightly dusty smell of carnation. I can pick up on a little of the juniper berry and an overall lovely citrus blend. Its original, raw, and not synthetic at all – it tells a story, but it is definitely not a crowd pleaser. It certainly adds variety to my love of ocean scents as I really do find it unique. I got it for a stunning discount after I won it from a bid on ebay. Inside the ocean there is always a treasure to be found!

I agree with @Stwmylos on this one. The fragrance is undeniably beautiful, with its aquatic and aromatic blend. However, it leans heavily towards femininity, which can make it a bit tricky for men to pull off. It shares similarities with Micallef's Osaito, albeit with a reduced emphasis on marine accords and a greater presence of floral touches. The sillage of this fragrance is excellent, but is only unleashed in high heat. And let's not forget to mention the stunning blue color of the bottle design!

A not so special, but inoffensive, clean and likeable scent nonetheless. The reference to the sea is justified due to its fresh character. I noticed that the community here characterizes Verde di Mare as a unisex-masculine leaning perfume, however I cannot agree, to me this is clearly a feminine fragrance, perhaps owing to the perceptible floral accord. There are substantial similarities to L' eau d' Issey Summer 2017, that my mother wears every now and then. 7/10

W pierwszej odsłonie drażniący lekko zapach, by cierpliwym po jakimś czasie wynagrodzić i przejść w głebokie tony i zaprezentować świeżą wręcz lekko ozonową nutę, staje się zapachem "powietrznym". W tej odsłonie staje się zapachem dla mnie na liście do zdobycia po tej niezwykłej projekcji z niepozornej próbki.

A bitter herbal opening, and I mean bitter. Bitter, tart, and gross. Salty, bitter, tart, and vomit inducing. Very masculine. Then, it tones down a bit. Petitgrain, carnation, and still bitter herbs with marine notes. 1960s vibes. Green, bitter herbs tossed by the ocean. I'm not strong enough for this. Tea, lily, and black currant followed by an ambergris overdose. So herbal and funky, but it does soften and become more feminine. A really vintage smell. Still too funky for me. I am repulsed.

Performance is especially bad here. I used 3 sprays, after 2 hours it was totally gone. Nothing special here, it's a strong floral with aquatic-citrus undertones. It's slightly harsh in the opening, like a cleaner. It becomes much smoother after 10-15 mins. But it doesn't last long. Save your money. Much better perfumes out there.

This is gorgeous ! Extremely aromatic , marine air with a bitter orange opening and plenty of cassis and salty notes following . I love Bois 1920 in general, I haven't yet smelled a Bois that was inferior in any way. This is no exception. For an aromatic aquatic it could have been anything in the lines of Cool Water. It's not. It smells like ocean, wind and waves, no coconut to bring up sunscreen. It is the ocean breaking waves near some rocky cliffs, and a forest lending a fresh and green character. Some citrus brings a sparkling fizzy quality to the juice. Some people might consider this more masculine than feminine. I don't have much experience with aquatics, I am a floral and gourmand lover in general lines,, but this is just what my collection needed to be complete. I love the bottle too, it's so unusual with the vivid blue and green colors. Definitely wearable by either ladies or gents. I miss the ocean and this brings it back to me. Glorious for its genre ! Ps. Edit: silage is fairly low compared with other Bois 1920 and while the lasting power is not bad, I cannot say it's very long either, definitely shorter than others. Also, I bought my bottle brand new, sealed . It is not as full as the picture here, actually the juice is just a hair above the shoulders of the bottle.

I received a 10ml decant in a split of this fragrance. Thanks, Matt! Okay, I'm very confused by this one. .. I was hoping for something with a more "oceanic" vibe based on the notes and on other reviews, but man ... this stuff smells like my Mom's Herbal Essences shampoo from the 90's. Not even kidding, but, admittedly I really loved that stuff. The immediate spray, I gave it the old "mmm, WOW!" at least 2 or 3 times, and smiled. But to me, this is more floral than anything, white-floral sweet then citrusy, then everything else. It's very nice, it's easy to wear, loud if you overspray it. It smells equally well on me and my wife, but I just don't prefer scents this floral or lotion-y. I was hoping for something kind of Jack Sparrow, but this is way more Elizabeth Swann, from the first movie. Still not totally disappointed, because this is a very refreshing and uplifting scent, and that's really what I want more than anything right now. I'll give this 7 out of 10.

Verde di Mare .... The Green Sea Verde di Mare opens very sharp sea notes with good amount of salt there is a far hint of green notes. after a good 10 mints the background start to rise and it smells like creamy melon on the beach i think it was created by adding vanilla and flower notes in equal parts. people in youtube compered this to armani Acqua di Gio witch is completely different fragrance Bois Verde di Mare has no noticeable flower notes like Acqua di Gio, it only has a creamy melon smell in the background. does it feel very natural? i would say about 80% does it feel green? no does it feel masculine? no does it feel feminine? about 40% i recommend going for Aqva Pour Homme Bvlgari if you want the green sea Sent 6/10 Longevity 9/10

شاهکاری تابستانه آروماتیک که از پرفورمنس کم نذاشته قطعا از کارهای تابستانه با پخش و موندگار فوق العاده هست ورده دی ماره .حس دریایی و نمکی که آب‌های مدیترانه رو یادآوری می کنه. اون نت میوه سرو کوهی که مورد علاقه منه اینجا هم افسونگری می کنه. زیباست و ارزشمند.

Let down again!!.... This is Women's Perfume!!!! ..Just bought $4 sample ...from Bois 1920....guys don't even think about trying this one..wast of $$... just pass & move on.... Feminine fragrance .....100% Very well made ..High quality.....
