Infusion

AHHHHHHHHH I love this. I've got my fair share of Sapphire memories (the drinkable type) so when I somehow stumbled across this ages ago I was interested but honestly a bit skeptical that it would be a generic "g&t freshie", something maybe akin to Abercrombie's First Instinct which I'm not terribly a fan of. But, I was wrong. This comes across WAY less aquatic and generic, its profile is instead comes across pretty niche, a bit timeless/classic in the way FDB Solstice does. It does really smell like you take the best qualities of a "gin" smell, remove the alcohol, and amp everything up and throw it in a bottle. Granted this has had (maybe ~2 decades?) to mature, but it projects and lasts SO well. It's the first time I've smelled something like this after smelling over 500 fragrances so its pretty unique. It's probably not worth it to many casual collectors but if "rare" and "smells like gin" are screaming at you, it might be worth the unfortunate eBay prices to grab you a bottle. I love it! I wish I had some reminds-me-ofs, but I dont. I'd love a modern revival of this DNA, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

What a refreshing surprise!! I don't drink much liquor, but when I do, Bombay Sapphire is my spirit of choice. Thus, I was intrigued when I stumbled upon the listing for Infusion. I finally decided to grab a bottle off eBay, and I'm so glad I did. Infusion is dirt cheap, and while not long lasting, it is well worth the tiny price. I think it would work beautifully as an after bath body spray in warm weather. Infusion does in fact smell quite a bit like Bombay Sapphire, yet you need not worry about smelling like a booze bag while wearing it. It is a refreshing citrus scent with plenty of juicy juniper berry. Also, Infusion is completely unisex as many refreshing citrus scents are. I highly recommend this obscure little gem.

I always thought the Bombay Sapphire bottle and label were really nice, classy, though I've never been much of a gin person. Gin of course is known for the juniper berries and that's what you get here and the whole aroma of this scent is nice, lite and effervescent. Juniper berries, lemon and angelica and orris are a great mixture that isn't heavy. So many scents turn out smelling like 4711, like Mugler's Cologne and Ford's Portofino. This may be in the same vein but stands a bit apart. Very light, citrusy and perfect for extreme heat. Like most citrus/aqueous fragrances this might not last long or project but it is classy and gives a cooling effect.
