201 granny smith, lily-of-the-valley, pear

Yes, it is summer fragrance, but not the tropical one. This is the essence of D&G Light Blue. In fact, you do not need Light Blue. There is the zesty citrus, I guessed bergamot right 😁, and then truly the green apple and quince - which is not listed here, but it is highlited on the bottle itself. The quince gives this a typical sour, very fresh, clean, almost festive feeling. And then you smell a salty water. Yes, it is aquatic. For some it might smell like a fresh laundry. If I concentrate very hard, I can pick up the magnolia and the pear, as well. I think this is a lovely fresh scent for women, but I can imagine it on a man, providing he combines it with some woods. Then he can achieve the Creed Aventus effect. If I compare it to M. Margiela Lazy Sunday Morning, this is much more fruity. I definitely recommend this perfume, it is wearable on its own or in a combination with some other scents.

This fragrance makes me smile. It is a simple, fun, fruity scent which is extremely easy to wear. Requires periodic reapplication but the cost negates any guilt associated with generous spraying! A perfect gift for a youngster starting out on a perfume discovery, but this scent is definitely not just for teenagers!

I got this perfume as a gift and it was better than I expected. Fresh and sweet - but not too sweet - apple and peer juice, it reminds me of Be Delicious, a perfume I used to wear in my late teens. Would I buy it myself? Probably not, it's not wow. I think apple and peer perfumes are tricky, they never smell expensive.

Fresh and fruity and very pleasant and it's got noticeable apple and pear notes, so yes, this does indeed smell like nice shampoo. A good fragrance for light application when you want to smell nice, but not overwhelm others. Longevity is a little poor.

Such a sweet scent!!! Reminds me of kids shampoo to be honest, but in a good and nostalgic way. The apple here is very prominent. (I BURST OUT LAUGHING WHEN SAW EVERYONE COMPARE IT TO SHAMPOO ASWELL HEHEHE)

This strikes me as a primarily citrus fragrance, without much of the apple coming out for me. I smell a musky, cream orange that is not overly sweet or fruity.

Love the tangy, sparkling, juicy top notes but the dry down is too astringent on my skin and burns my sinuses.

I'm testing the Bon Perfumer discovery set of 23 fragrances blind. I haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. I'm working through the cute little bottles in their numbered order. These being yellow, I assume citrus. 201 opens up with an array of citrus. I get mostly lemon, at times bergamot, and a bit of juniper or something similar. I get some lime, but I'm not sure. The sillage is so low, even on paper, it is difficult to discern notes. I basically had to spill it on me. A little later it is more floral, so I'm guessing orange blossom? Looking at the notes now, ah apple. Yes. It isn't apple pie, but the smell of ripe green apples just picked, still in that citrus tart phase. While some notes are present: Magnolia, sure; casis, yes (explaining the juniper comment); lily-of-the-valley, yes. Other notes are hard to say yes to: pear, most of the other florals, and the base (esp. vetiver and cedar) seem extremely distant, especially with how quiet the fragrance is. What is there is nice and fresh and familiar, but whether anybody notices without going through the bottle is another question.

Very sharp apple and bergamot notes opening and it doesn’t really develop or change after that. I won’t be purchasing a full size after I have used up the tester. It is very unisex if that’s what you’re looking for, in fact it smells more like after shave lotion to me. If you want a fresh fruity perfume I recommend Gin Fizz by Lubin.

Opens with a burst of soap-like fruity freshness, then in a little over an hour (or maybe less) dries down to a somewhat synthetic scent. Bought this in the mini size while panic shopping as the mall was about to close already so it was the initial notes that got me hooked. Instant regret when I got home. Will not buy again.

I get a lot of bergamot here, it's not an apple forward scent to me unless you just mean "tangy and green". It's unpleasantly sharp to me. I'm going ot let it sit for a while and see if it gets any better over time.

Powdery bomb. I didn't dare to spray it on me, only sprayed twice in the bathroom and regretted doing so right after. Got rid of it happily.

SKIN TEST UPDATE: It’s even more beautiful on skin! It’s somehow even more full-bodied, bright and quince-forward than on a test strip. It’s even more shampoo-y. The dry down sweetens the scent and the apple flesh is more pronounced! Ugh, so pretty! This is sweet & fruity without being juvenile, cloying or cheap. The lily-of-the-valley (subtle but def there) adds a delicate sweetness. It’s slightly fruity/shampoo-y but elevated. If the marketing didn’t mention Apple as a note, I’m not convinced I would have picked it up truthfully. However, when I do look for Apple I find it. It’s more of a tart Granny Smith Apple flesh than it is a juicy & ripe red Apple. 201 is fresh, bright and is ideal for humid & hot days in the sunshine. I know BP’s color system has its own organizational system but if I had to pick a color for 201, it would be that sunny yellow it’s packaged in. I haven’t done a proper skin test, so I cannot speak to its longevity or projection yet. While unisex, I think ppl who gravitate towards feminine or unisex scents will enjoy 201 the most. Truly beautiful! If a full bottle is out of budget, and a decant doesn’t work, I think you can try Oakcha’s Beekeeper. It’s not identical but it would scratch the itch h for that kinda scent DNA.

I loooove this one. I've tried a handful of samples from this brand and 201 is my favorite by far! I ended up buying a bottle of it. It's such a crisp, clean and refreshing scent, and I love how prominent the apple note is. It smells just like cutting into a crisp, cool green apple with subtle floral and green undertones. I was worried it wouldn't be very apple-forward but it really shines through, and it genuinely smells like a real granny smith apple rather than sugary apple candy. If you like fruity scents that are more on the fresh and clean side and aren't too sweet I'd definitely recommend giving this a try.

I looked for an apple scent and I first I thought this was nice scent for summer. But then my husband asked what is that smell, have you sprayed Raid here. Indeed, it smelled like Raid insect killer we had to use to get rid of insects on our balcony. I had to get rid of it, just couldn't walk around smelling Raid! Very well done, Raid, though, you have improved your insect killer scent, haha.

This smells like shampoo. It smells fruity and clean, like when you get out of the house and you still have your hair wet from the shower. I enjoy these type of fragrances when I'm out and about doing errands. I like it but I wouldn't buy it as there are better options for this kind of vibe. I have Wavechild and Malin & Goetz Strawberry, and for me, these are better.
