301 sandalwood, amber, cardamom

i fell in love with this scent so much! it’s spicy, woody composition with a hint of white floral and coconut. it’s perfectly blended, very sandalwoody... but it last 10 minutes on my skin and it’s such a shame! cause it’s freakin’ beautiful. perfect for all kinds of weather and I would say for anyone, who loves fresh spicy scents.

301 reminds me of woody pencil shavings on first spritz followed by a creamy sandalwood, slightly sweet vanilla with a hint of smoked spices. Fitting for a day of lazing around in bed since I have a back problem and it’s been killing me for days! Very warm and comforting but surprisingly elegant at the same time.

I own a full bottle. I was in a store and tried all of the Bon Parfumeur fragrances but this one stood out the most for me. It's very warm, aromatic and creamy. It reminds me of Santal Blush by Tom Ford. It has that creamy sandalwood. I do get the amber and coconut as well. No cardamom at all for me. But maybe it's just well blended, giving the overall fragrance a spicy touch. It is a pretty sweet scent. I normally don't like sweet scents, but this is exactly the right amount. It is the boozy kind of sweet. Almost like a whiskey that has been aged on oak barrels. Unfortunately the longevity is below average. Sillage also seems pretty low as I have never got a compliment wearing this. On the other hand, maybe that is a good thing (low silage that is). You might get nauseous or anosmic. Despite this, I think it's a beautiful (unisex) fragrance for a very fair price. €40 for 30ml. If Santal Blush (TF) is too expensive for you, do try this. I'd say it's 80% similar, altho I haven't compared them next to each other. Edit: I recently found out my studio mate who sits 1 meter next to me has been wearing this fragrance for years as signature and I have never smelled it on him. I have a very good nose so this tells a lot about the performance of this fragrance.

I have blind bought this perfume given the notes. I love the wood smell and wanted to enrich my existing perfumes by adding some depth and dimension to them. I find this perfume a very good quality. I own already a sandalwood oil from the Swiss Arabian, so I can confirm the presence of a pure sandalwood. It is the dominating note here, and the cardamom is also detectable. I do not smell the amber though. This creation is not sweet at all, and performing very well! It is intended for a layering, and so I did. I sprayed on this perfume the Mimosa & Cardamom by Jo Malone. Let me tell you that what a stunning outcome I got! It was a very natural, flowery rounded soft perfume with a slight woods in the background. Just perfect! The reason I do not give this 5* is that I do not like the sandalwood that much as the other woods - it is a bit sour by the nature. And that this particular perfume is not wearable just on its own. But for the purpose which I have given above, it is flawless!

Warm and spicy, dominated by creamy sandalwood. The opening is warm and spicy with cardamon and nutmeg, dry and even slightly dusty to me. You can already notice trace of creamy sandalwood now. Another note that stands out is cumin. I always have a mixed feeling towards cumin, as I find it bordering on "sweaty armpit" smell. Luckily this unpleasant smell does not last long. The spicy notes and creamy sandalwood balance the pungent aroma of cumin. Jasmine is subtle here. Wish it could be stronger, as I believe its floral facet can "tune down" the spiciness. The drydown is ambery, warm, slightly sweet. And again, the creamy sandalwood brings calm and comfort. The sillage is fine, but it does not last long on my skin. If I apply it in the morning, after lunchtime it already gets subtle.

The green notes in this make it quite different from other sandalwoods and ambers in my collection. I like it now, but I can imagine craving it in January and February when I’m over the decadence of the holidays and want something fresher and cleaner. I think it’s the cypress note I’m really responding to - it still feels like winter, but fresh for winter. A walk in the woods in January.

I love this scent. That's also the reason I'm a bit disappointed in it. It starts with delicious creamy sandalwood and dries down to an almost animalistic spiciness, cumin being the most pronounced accord. However, in a few hours it's almost completely gone. Bought a bottle, used it and didn't buy again.

A fragrance that impressed me from the very first spray. Warm, elegant, and beautifully balanced. It has depth without heaviness, and a quiet but irresistible presence. It gave me that ‘butterflies’ feeling . A perfect evening scent with a refined aura.

It starts of so beautifully! Creamy sandal wood, amber and cardamom - my favorite! Then something happens in the dry down. It might just be on my skin, but it starts smelling so sharp and unpleasant. A bit like urine...

Oof, I was torn between 301 and 302 and went for 302 on a blind buy, but once I smelled 301 I realised my mistake - this is the one I love. They're similar but like hot and cold versions of the same theme. 302 has a warm, feathery iris, with a smokiness that makes me think of incense. 301 is much much smoother, and with the cardamom making it feel almost glassy and cold, where 302 is hot In the drydown, the sandalwood comes out very gently. A slightly deeper, smoother sandalwood than santal 33, and it's a very affordable dupe for Tom Ford's Santal Blush. But if you can't afford those (like me), you might very much enjoy this little number.

To me, this sits right between Norwegian Wood by Kanon and a Sandalwood oil by Al Haramain, although unfortunately I prefer both of those fragrances over this one. From Norwegian Wood, this takes a warm, glowing cardamon, and layers it with an almost savory, rough and dirty sandalwood (not clean or creamy). For such a coarse smell, it manages to be quite fleeting, fading suddenly to skin after a couple of hours.

It’s giving “clean aesthetic but with depth”... like minimal on the outside, but lowkey complex when you pay attention. The scent is mostly creamy sandalwood + warm amber, with cardamom adding a soft spicy twist not too sharp, just enough to keep it interesting 🤷🏻♀️

Also reminds me of Tam Dao. I am new to, and not sure if I am a fan of, woody fragrances. There is a mix of softness and sharpness to me.

This is strongly cedar and sandalwood on me, smooth and woody with a sour note of pencil shavings.

I'm testing the Bon Perfumer discovery set of 23 fragrances blind. I haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. I'm working through the cute little bottles in their numbered order. 301 opens with a clove, almost light leather feeling. At times I get notes of scotch. For me there's something very familiar with the scent, like fumbling around with grampa's side of the grandparents bathroom where some mix of old spice, shoe polish, and Avon aftershave looms. It's just a tad smokey, mature, but not desperate mature. If this is a tobacco scent, it is relatively mild and more friendly. Early on there's a touch of green to it. A bit later I'm getting a slightly smoky vetiver. Looking at the notes now, the spice variety fits in, but not sensing ylang-ylang, coconut, or jasmine. Besides the sandalwood the base is not such an array as suggested. It's a much softer sillage than 302, which is more moderate. Pretty much a skin scent moments after application, this one not lasting as long as many others in the collection. Nice fragrance, needs more omf!

At first spray I thought it was wonderful – and could be an affordable alternative to Tom Ford Santal Blush. But then it dried down and all I smelled was urine. 😕 My son said the same thing when he walked into the room where I had sprayed it (“it smells like pee in here.”) Something about this must not agree with our noses.

The coconut accentuates the milkyness of the sandalwood. Unfortunately the scent is very lactonic and it lingers from opening to dry down. I dont like it.

Going in, I thought that this would read kinda close to Killian’s ‘Angel Share’ or Oakcha’s ‘Heaven Speaks,’ as 301 is listed as a remember of the warm/spicy olfactory family. I’m a big fan of 301’s primary notes of cardamom, amber and a well-executed sandalwood. I got a full blast of alcohol and a pickle-y sandalwood at first. Not the best first impression tbh. In the dry down this scent begins to shine: the sandalwood is a true light, mildly creamy wood, and the cardamom emerges in a rounded, welcome way. There is a not-very-sweet amber note that also arrived at the dry down. Of all BP’s discovery set this far, this is the only one I doubt I’ll finish even 2 ml of liquid. It’s also the only one this far that I think would seriously benefit from layering with either a praline, vanilla or fruit note. If you’re on the hunt for a warm/spicy fragrance, there are much better executed alternatives at a lower price point.

I just got a sample of this and thought I should leave a review, since there aren't any. The only note I can pick out definitively is sandalwood. Everything else just seems to compliment it really well. This reminds me of Sacred Wood By Kilian, or maybe Tam Dao by Diptyque. I would say this is more well-rounded than Sacred Wood. The subtle fruity/spicy/floral background notes complement the sandalwood and lift it up. For me, the whole composition is more pleasant and interesting than Sacred Wood.
