302 amber, iris, sandalwood

302 by Bon Parfumeur, the scent that made me fell in love with iris. So here are my first thoughts This opens up with a bit fruity like red berries, that i found on tobacco fragrance with cherry nuance or undertones in it. Then the spices comes up, in fragrantica they didn't mentioned cardamom in it but i could tell there is cardamom in this fragrance by how it smell. The cardamom is smooth not like indian spice market. It is similar with ambre sultan because of the spicy amber and a bit minty green of geranium that make this perfume kind of a bit aromatic in my opinion. But the noticable difference here is the bon parfumeur 302 is sweeter than ambre sultan, not too sweet but sweet enough. An then there is iris the main notes in this perfume. It doesn't smell too much powdery but you could tell it's the good iris that make this perfume smell like that. And why do i fell in love with iris notes is because it doesn't smell too deep or too sharp like carrot in other boozy fragrance like DHI or Givenchy gentlemen reserve prive. And there is a bit incense that add depths too this fragrance. So the prominent notes are amber, iris, vanilla, and sandalwood. Because all of that notes is noticeable from the first spray until the drydown. I would say they can't put up to 4 notes on their perfume sticker on the front of the bottles because all the perfume got described by 3 notes, but you could smell a bit spicy a bit boozy smooth natural vanilla in here. The sillage is moderate on me, the projection is good not causing any headache, and the longevity lingering for like 6-7 hours. Pretty much it is good for the price and as entry level niche. It gives you the niche feels not generic, and also challenges your nose. That's all from me, always trust your own nose when smelling any perfumes.

As odd as this sounds, it’s as if someone did a longer lasting, similarly projecting, citrus opening nullifying, more designer focused version of Tom Ford Noir. The Amber here is much more present, the citrus of noir much less so, and this is far more approachable. The reason I compare the two is the soft powder dry down that is the main show of both fragrances. I won’t deign to vote that they smell the same above and thus be forever ruined to immeasurable downvotes because they do not smell the same, they rather are trying to do very similar things. If you are someone who loves what Tom Ford Noir did for male perfumery in the sense that it went completely opposite to everything male perfumery had, and has since gone in terms of direction, you will appreciate 302. Though this is more approachable for those waiting to dip their toe in the still pond.

I ordered this from a perfume subscription, and wow! It opens sweet, with amber, incense, a little powder and a strong sort of licorice woody note, comparable to that in Miller Harris Vetiver Insolent but less sophisticated. At this point I wasn’t so convinced. I then forgot about it because I was working a shift in the COVID department and my mask and protective clothing do a decent job in covering up all scents. But when I was driving home from work I noticed this really sexy powdery woody sandalwood-iris scent and I realized it was radiating from my wrist. It is like the (in my opinion) beautiful VC&A Bois d’Iris, but on steroids. I literally can’t stop smelling it, and I’m definitely ordering the biggest bottle available!

Not too much development on my skin but perfect as is. It‘s a feel-good, cosy, spicy, elegant, comforting, insencey, strong ambery perfume with a hint of sweetness (vanilla?) Ready for any occasion but in colder seasons and maybe summer nights? Even got a compliment that I smell so good, like insence 😁 Though I actually do not wear perfumes for getting compliments but for my own joy. 💚 This perfume is simple but beautiful. Definitely one of my favorites. I would put it in the same scent type category as Sumo Wrestler from J-Scent, only that the latter is more complex.

Soooo wonderful I bought a bottle! I loved this instantly, it was the most beautiful scent ever. Then, it started to bother me, I've smelled something like this before... It wasn't until several hours later, that it dawned on me... It's the spitting image of Chanel's Coromandel, my favourite perfume! No wonder I love it so much. I'm very happy to have it in my collection, despite the similarity. Maybe in time it will reveal itself to be quite different.

new to perfume, this is the first one that had called out to me. i tried it on in Readings and had to come back the next day to get it. evokes a woody mix of incense and turkish coffee. personally, my nose isn't super strong (allergies - which this does slightly trigger for me sadly) but the first time i wore this out i received a compliment on it, so i trust it really is good. warm, spicy, & gonna change my life potentially.

Love, love, love it. Tried it on today, having never seen this range before. Chose this to try because of the iris - I'm a big fan of BLV Notte, long discontinued. This is not a dupe, but it completely has the incense/iris vibe that I fell in love with from BLV Notte per femme. Cosy aroma all afternoon long. I am going to buy it. I have way too many frangrances, but I just have to have this.

First impression was that it was too strong and heady for my liking. But as it calms down it turns into this creamy santal with vanilla which is calming and absolutely gorgeous. I love this. This is better than MANY expensive perfumes 5x this price! There is something about this one that reminds me of one of the Olympic Orchids perfumes. I just can't remember which one. To me this is quite a bit different than Grand Soir. It doesn't have the same sweetness.

Sweet dusty sandalwood. Similar to Meharees by L'Erbolario it's sweeter than Meharees and not as dusty to my nose. I like it but don't love it... Decent longevity and sillage. Comes in at a fantastic price so it is a safe blind buy if you like sweet dusty sandalwood. Enjoy!

This def smell expensive! It is like 90% similar to Byredo 1996. I have that one as well. This is not as dense and 1996 has a animalic musk that this dont have. 6-8 hours, Depends on sprays!

i don't usually love sweet/feminine fragrances but this one is surprisingly complex and addictive. i decided to spray a bit on a wool sweater on a whim and i can't stop sniffing it whenever I wear it. longevity has been insane; my sweater has smelled like it for weeks with about arm's length sillage even now. this fragrance is warm and inviting and bright; it seems to go well with any occasion. vanilla notes are often intensified on my skin but this level is perfect. i love how it layers with gris charnel. this fragrance is simultaneously universally appealing and quite different/surprising, at least on my chemistry. my coworker loved it so much she bought a bottle. sidenote, i get headaches easily with perfumes and haven't had an issue with this one.

At first sniff the spices in this were choking, a melange of chaotic sharp spices. Over time it's calmed now a bit, and I've also grown to appreciate the sandalwood more, though I find it rather imbalanced, and far more smoky than originally thought. All of BP seems to be similar: linear, unfussy, paint by numbers scents. Given its incense notes I'd expected it to last longer, but even with multiple sprays I can't seen to get it to last longer than an hour or two on me. Rather disappointing given the cost, and the heavier quality of the scent -- you'd expect it to carry a bit more weight.

I like it. Yes, it is amber, amber, amber. But it's pleasant, warm and calming amber. I would not say it cloying or sticky. Also it's nothing special, but while wearing it I was imagining myself covered in blanket sitting in front of a window with a coffee mug, while it's raining outside. Makes me feel comfortable at work. Performance is not that good, though! 4.5 hours after application (4-5 sprays) and I can barely detect it. This review is based on my first experience with this fragrance and it can change in the future.

An opulent and powdery fragrance, dominated by the incisive aromas of amber and a powdery Iris, which makes the composition even darker. Incense, at times spicy, gives it that smoky touch that is then softened by shades of vanilla. An oriental very appropriate for summer evenings, where in my opinion it is at its best.

Instant delight for me, but this is typical of most amber/sandalwood/musk fragrances. The top notes are incorrect on here — the Bon Parfumeur website lists pink pepper, geranium and cardamom as the top notes, which aligns more with what I'm smelling and why it's so delicious to me (I'm a pink pepper fiend).

Literally what it says on the bottle - sandalwood and amber! I like how the Bon Parfumeur scents are colour coded. This one is a warm orangey/red brown, which suits the scent perfectly.

I'm testing the Bon Perfumer discovery set of 23 fragrances blind. I haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. I'm working through the cute little bottles in their numbered order. 302 opened with vanilla and cassis or something along the line of rum, but sheds some of this while drying down to an interesting blend of greens, woods, and dark spices, landing more on something a dried out wooden mug might smell like that once was filled with an herbal remedy. At times I get a spiced (slightly) hay sensation. There's an amber or resin-like base along with the woods. Towards the end of its stay, the echo of a dried vanilla spice hangs for a bit at an intimate scale. Looking at the notes now they explain my experience, except the iris, which wasn't expected at all. Between the incense, vanilla, and geranium/red berries you definitely get something more rum/tobacco than what you might expect, which makes testing these blind worth the experience. I get the iris now that I see it, hanging below the top notes and looming a bit longer. It's a much more moderate sillage fragrance compared to 301, which is quiet like many in this collection. Overall enjoyable and great fall fragrance.

So, upon initial spray, I was like Whoa! Immediately reminded me of the first reformulation of AG Ambre Fetiche, I mean, dead ringer. It's beautiful, amber, vanilla, iris, sandalwood, geranium. BUT....the lasting power is most definitely doodoo. It's a great office sent and is a great amber scent. If they made an Elixir in this, that would be bomb. Edit: 4 months later I revised this after it sat...its absolutely gorgeous and very good quality. Definitely lasts long now. Happy to have this in my Amber collection.

Yuck - geranium overload. EDIT: Well, I layered it with 501... and it kinda smells like I created a spicy chocolate amber perfume - although neither has a chocolate note.

First impression: The initial spray is horrid, but the more it dries down the more I like it. I wish it was sweeter, but layering it will help with that.

I j.u.s.t. don't like it at all! Amber amber amber... too much, very sticky and cloyeing. Cannot actually distinguidh any other notes than amber. The same feeling I get from Byredo 1996 and Atelier Cologne Amber. If you like these two, you will like 302 as well and vice versa. EDIT: I still don't like, it is simply suffocating and almost created a corpse scent.

On a blotter strip is smells like medicine, an herbal concoction of sorts that smells awful but you know it'll make you feel better so you take it. It's screechy and it fills the room. I am afraid to put this on my skin. I'll update once I muster the courage to do so.

Hated it with passion from the first sniff. Not well blended, scratchy, loud, yet I wanted to come back for more. This fragrance is like that toxic boyfriend that you can’t have enough of. On paper it ticks all the boxes for me, in practice it’s meh. Good that I only got a sample.

Wow, this is beautiful. Sandalwoody musk that reminds me a bit of Patchouli Nosy Be from Perris Monte Carlo (minus the patchouli, of course), with some incense to round it up. The vanilla and iris are distinguishable and add to it's powdery character, but they are never too sweet or overpowering. It's not a "baby powder" iris. I don't get geranium at all, but it might just be me. The perfume overall has an almost cocoa-like, delicious quality to it. Very comforting, and I echo some of the previous reviewers: it smells expensive and reminiscent of perfumes that are much less affordable. I've bought a FB and only have been testing for a couple of days, but the longevity seems decent - I was worried it might not be, given the previous reviews. It definitely stays on clothes for a while, even if it might not have a very strong projection. Edit: grammar

At first I thought this smelled extremely similar to Penhaligon's Bewitching Yasmine, which also has incense and cardamom. However, the note profile here is exactly similar to L'artisan Parfumeur L'eau d'Ambre, or Molinard Ambre. They all have amber, vanilla, incense, geranium and cardamom. Ironic, because I was considering getting travel sizes of these and then realised I still have my 15 ml of 302 that I'm using very sparingly. Something about the combination of amber and cardamom can be nauseatingly heavy and sweet/cloying to my nose at times, so I wear it in moderation.

Initial spay and it was sweet amber with a little incense. Once it dried down a bit, the amber settled down and I got a bit of the wood, a little powder (probably the iris). As it really dried down, I got incense, some musky notes and the amber. I do like it, but I wish I could catch more of the iris.

Im loving bon parfumeur! Another one that is very well done. To my nose this reminds mugler’s a* men but not as bold, more elegant and refined. Very pleasing and nice option for a darker sweet scent.

So cozy and comforting especially in the dry down, powdery sweet sandalwood and amber. Lasts really well on my skin, even in hot weather I will get a whole 7-8 hrs.

Smells amazing. I got rose, vanilla, animalic amber sandalwood and some powderines from iris. Unfortunately very very weak. After 1 hour this becomes a skin scent

Berry's help this stay not so dusty, .. but goes purple and reminds me of bois 1820 with purple cap silver body. Meh

Dupe for Penhaligon’s Bewitching Yasmine. I detect a cardamom note here that is not listed by Fragrantica.

Grand soir with almost same quality in 1/4 of price
