701 eucalyptus, amber, white wood

" doesn't smell like aqaysos at all to me... ah it smells like 1828 - Histoires de Parfums "Inspired by Jules Verne" this ones nice,not at brash as 1828.. maybe this one is the older brother, slightly aftershave aura, great blend. I need to spend more time with this one. Just saw TDH comparison.. i could see that but this is no way a dupe this might be a decent signature scent Ok reminding me of FM french lover !

701 opens with a grapefruit and bergamot citrus and sweet fruity pineapples. The pineapples in 701 is unlike your usual pineapple scents, I feel. Midway, I start to get wood notes and incense. A little spice and hints of amber. As it dries down, the citrus is subdued as it becomes smokier and woodier with bitterness from the grapefruit. Very interesting!

One of my favorites from the house! Very well-blended and smells so natural!!! The eucalyptus note is very realistic and I almost get a pinch of coconut in here too, despite the note isn't listed. A truly beautiful fresh fragrance. Very decent projection and longevity too.

Beautiful creation. This perfume is top notch at a resonable price. Super versatile, nearly impossible to dislike! Very decent projection and duration, I am really glad to have it in my collection and it is a must under spring/summer! Super!!

I really enjoyed this one. It starts with a burst of fruit as others have noted the sweet pineapple moderated with bitterness of the the bergamont and grapefruit and the green and camphor notes of the eucalyptus. The amber, wood and incense provide warmth and contrast. The dry down still retains the pineapple creating like a fruity smokey musk thing going on. This is really well composed and good for all year round wear to feel fresh in the cold temps and a little more sensuous in the warmer months. The opening leans femme, but the dry down is unisex to masculine.

Was not expecting to love this so much! The pineapple note usually puts me off as it gives me basic aventus fanboy associations. But the eucalyptus really lifts this into the niche sphere, makes it spa-esque and tropical paradise at the same time with the sharp, mildly bitter grapefruit. Woods and spices work well beneath, definitely a unique fragrance. I also get a tinge of cannabis, but probably just the herbal aspects, eucalyptus and greens working together. Reminds me of Cannabis Blu by Fragrance du Bois.

Interesting! It's woody but with a fresh kick of eucalyptus. The pineapple note is very faint for me - I probably would not have noticed it without reading the notes.

This makes me think of Wood Sage & Sea Salt, just more powerful. Very nice summer fragrance. Decent longevity and sillage.

I'm testing the Bon Perfumer discovery set of 23 fragrances blind. I haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. I'm working through the cute little bottles in their numbered order. 701 reminds me of generic men's cologne from mainstream this or that. It is generally bright, invigorating, while warm, and green-spicy, but so nondescript. It's aromatic, there's maybe jasmine, or something similar, giving a freshness, but picking out notes is difficult. I got an old cedar box that used to have cigars, but has really aired out since, and somebody filled it with bright herbs or something. You really need to shove your nose in there to get a whiff on the deeper notes. It's almost like it's trying to escape definition the moment you notice it. The fragrance is simultaneously fresh while being nostalgic. Looking at the notes now, it's the eucalyptus and whitewood that dominate. While the citruses bring some brightness, and some notes may lend an influence, testing blind, the pineapple, nutmeg, and liatris don't resonate for me at all. To me it's preppy, something a guy that plays golf and wears a Nike logo hat might wear, but unlike sports fragrances, this fragrance has more versatility and depth. Possibly a crowd pleaser for some but doesn't fit my persona. (12/12/22 Edit) Trying this again after several months with no memory of what I wrote before and pretty much feel the same way but would put more emphasis on it feeling warm. My overall take away on a second testing is it needs more oomph in depth and projection. Not massive just more.

The eucalyptus has a toothpaste vibe here; not herbaceous. (In fairness to 701, I was expecting something more literal, and that was the motivation for my purchase.) To my nose, 701’s eucalyptus has a similar treatment to the herbs & aromatics in Guerlain’s Herbes Troublants. (HT is an absolute stunner, btw.) These two fragrances are not similar: I’m just comparing the treatment of the herbal notes. They’re nondescript. I take no joy in saying that the combo of accords/notes here, resembles literal dill pickles, to me. (I’ve heard people use this descriptor before & I thought they were being “imaginative.”) Now I understand that the pickle is real. I really wanted to love this because of the notes, but this one needs a loving home.

My initial thought was gorgeous and vibrant scents. BUT the fruity aroma lasts a surprisingly long time, and it was a bit overpowering for myself. I could see a woman wearing this, but this is more of a pleasing aroma going into therapeutic. Something casual and nonimposing for when you are around friends.

I agree with pgs: of all the Bon Parfumeur fragrances I have smelled, this is the most interesting. Looking at the notes I had expected this to be more woody and smokey than it actually is. Even though it's not listed, I also detect a rhubarb-ish note, which I like a lot. All in all: a distinctive yet safe unisex fruity sweet herbal scent with average longevity.

Reminds me of moth balls unfortunately. Not as intense as in royal Mayfair but enough to ruin it for me. The grapefruit and coconut hint are great, and the brand always makes natural smelling, high quality frags and this is no exception
