802 pivoine, lotus, bambou

I love fresh (or even aquatic) forals but they are usually too chemical smelling and sharp, giving me an headache and turning into cleaning solution scent on the skin. However, this here is different - there was not a single moment where I would have noticed anything sharp or chemical. It is just aquatic bamboo-peony. It reminded me even a bit of Gucci Bamboo EDT. Super soft and feminine but fresh enough still to be worn by a man too. I love it. I does not happen often when I know after the first try that I will buy the fragrance and start to wear it. Easy, beautiful, fresh, soft, natural 🩵 EDIT: and I bought it! Yes, perfection in bottle. Easy reach, light, sophisticated, makes me happy. It starts out quite green but soon after dries to some really expensive shower gel or even an actual bouquet of flowers. And on chlothes it lasts for at least 2 days. EDIT: I finished 30 ml bottle within 3 months, wearing it every day. It also got a green light from my migrane-prone colleague, so I really wear it every day to everywhere. It is as perect if a perfume as it can get.

Initial spray and you get a blast of wet flowers! Too flowery for me tbh. But just like every scent I try on, I give it time to breathe and time to develop. In 802’s case, the beauty happened a few minutes after. The florals “calmed down” and it left this wet, greenish, floral which is basically a lotus in full bloom in my imagination. It’s wet, not like the sea, but a serene pond that gives you this relaxing cool feeling even in hot weather.

A very tranquil, calming dewy floral scent. Strangely the opening smelled like Snowy Owl (grassy petrichor), but the heart was peony-heavy with slight rose. The blackcurrant starts smelling at the dry down for me. It's soothing, brightly damp and floral, like its namesake: water nymph (Nymphea Celeste). Lasts pretty long on me (1x reapplication for am 8h work day) for it's scent profile.

802 by Bon Parfumeur: Tranquil floral elegance. It is a floral aquatic fragrance that makes me feel like I'm stepping into a serene oasis. Seriously 😄 802 smells like I imagined Truth by CK would, but Truth was heavy, whereas 802 is light and airy, relaxing and soothing.

I'm testing the Bon Perfumer discovery set of 23 fragrances blind. I haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. I'm working through the cute little bottles in their numbered order. 802 opens up like a cocktail, with a mix of gin and vodka and some sweet mixer. Pears come to mind, some citrus and is that eucalyptus hiding beneath? After the opening there is a somewhat battle between notes, at times not working together and leaving a scented soap or cleaner essence. Thankfully, and quite nicely, the quarrel ends in a loving embrace, giving a lovely blend of a familiar big deep lilly pad with a musky-sweet base. It reminds me of "You or Somebody Like You" by Etat Libre d'Orange, but where that fragrance is undeniably fresh mint, this one is deeper greens and more musky water. But there's something linking them together (and I'm totally ok if you don't agree and it's all in my head). The floral element here didn't really hit me till the third time. It's like I'm wading in a secret pond in a fantasy jungle with blossoms never seen before, where the temperature is always perfectly cool. Looking at the notes now, clearly the black currant makes its presence known from opening to body. The osmanthus and other florals all add layers, but the watery lily note and base musk seem most apparent. At first it leaned masculine to me until the florals came more apparent and I got a whiff of something lovely and feminine, so it's unisex for me, wondering what aquatic floral fantasies might exist layering it. Of the 23 samples these two aquatics (801 & 802) stand out. (Edit:12/26/22) I don't agree with my previous statement on the opening, it is fresh, set, and floral from first whiff. The rest I agree with. Quite nice and pleasant, may lean more feminine but I just like the fragrance.

Please read my review with the understanding that everyone's scent perception is different. For me, this is a beautiful, refreshing scent. I mostly smell rose, not sweet or jammy, but a very realistic garden rose with that unique green, floral character. There is also a light aquatic nuance (perhaps that's the lotus, who knows), and a subtle musk in the background that becomes more noticeable in the drydown. It's a perfect fragrance for hot weather or simply for those moments when you want a fresh, uplifting feeling. To sum it up, I would describe it as a green, fresh rose surrounded by watery accords, like a rose covered in morning dew. By the way, I don't really pick up much peony. I'm quite familiar with that note, and to me peony usually has a sweet, pink-floral character. Here, it feels different. Perhaps it's intertwined with the rose and takes on a greener facet, or maybe I just don't detect it clearly.

I only wear this in winter! If I try wearing this when it's warm it goes weird and musty on me. Sorry 802, you're a cold weather bitch to me. The initial spray has a strong blast of flowers as other reviewers have said, and it gives way to a very tranquil, green aquatic smell. I'd call it blue green, if anything...it's very gentle and deep. First perfume that got me to love perfumes tbh, it took a couple of sprays at the store I was working at to truly 'get' it.

Watery, green lotus/bamboo scent. This reminds me very much of a room scent, something that would be in emanating from a reed diffuser in a spa or fancy bathroom.

This is synthetic flower bomb. Start with aquatic peony and rose and quickly degrades to nauseating lilyofthevalley-like laundry softener. Bamboo, what Bamboo?

Beginning: super cheap, like the liquid they used to wash the floors in my school or something like this After ≈1: beautiful clean scent.

An odd scent on my skin: I’m picking up the same bitterness that the other reviewers below mention, and that bitterness leans toward bergamot or lime. Also, I’m picking up a dusty powder note, likely attributed to the violet. I would classify 802 as a green floral aquatic. I was thinking it was an “okay” scent, but within 10 minutes of application my skin started to sting where I applied the scent. I had to wash 802 off at the 30 minute mark so I can’t comment on performance.

This is a watery peony fragrance with something a bit green and sharp about it--it gets very close to headache territory, but doesn't fully cross the line. This is very feminine, and smells like it could be a room or linen spray. I got about 4.5 hours out of it.

I loved this in the beginning. Bon Parfumeur is one of my favorite brands and the familiar floral scent was welcoming. However, after several hours, some weird scent emerged from the dry down. Really weird, rank and unidentifiable.

im obsessed with fresh florals, especially lotus, so i had high expectations for this. its a like, but not a love. i get more freshness and wateriness in the opening. the dry down is fine, but not if i smell up close... it's good in the air. but there's something a little off when i actually smell my wrist, or when i overspray. so for now i'll say 7/10 - if i just do two sprays (preferably on clothes) and enjoy the smell of her in the air. layered with ocean di gioia to add some more freshness throughout the entire wear of the perfume, and that did help. they pair well together and create a pretty, feminine, ~just out the shower~ vibe

a friend used to wear l’eau d’issey on the daily and this reminds of me her. very tranquil. i probably wouldn’t like it as much if it didn’t bon parfumeur website lists the following notes: (top) lotus, bamboo, violet leaf, (heart) freesia, peony, blackcurrant, (base) musk, osmanthus, amber. so another perfume with the incorrect notes on here! like it's literally called 'peony lotus bamboo'

A more acquatic version of O-zone by sergio tacchini or ultraviolet woman by PR. First sniff is really ok for summer. Flowery yet fresh and watery. I used to wear similar fragrances in my teenage years and I still appreciate them with effortless looks and days. Norhing too complex.

Soothing, soft, and aquatic without any sharpness. I actually really like it, but it isn’t terribly exciting. Also somehow reminds me of old school Bath and Body Works cucumber melon.

Fruity/rosy/berry kind of scent, with woody undertones- linear, amazing longevity- reminds me so much of Avon's Crystal Aura-
