Chelsea Flowers

The only three reviewers I agree with are Carla, Catherine, and CourtrightHer. This is one of my favorite Bond no. 9 perfumes! And I already invested in a bunch of 'em! This fragrance is so feminine you have no idea. It is truly one of those "feel good" perfumes. I understand and believe that perfumes do react differently to different body chemistries, but this on me is devine! It lasts on me 12+ hours, which is really wonderful and you might say proves to be of great value as well. I get compliments everywhere I go when I wear it, that's why I keep a picture of it on my mobile to show it to whoever asks me what I'm wearing. Brilliant idea don't you think? For me this is definitely a keeper. I will repurchase over and over for sure. And honestly about the price, in my opinion if it makes me feel so good, uplifted and beautiful, and lasts forever on me, and showers me with compliments! Then it's definitely worth the amount I'm paying for it! Don't you think?

I've been searching so long to find a perfect floral and I think I've finally found it! It's funny because I've been eyeing this one for a while and always ended up trying some other floral perfume instead. Last winter I tried a sample of LV's Dancing Blossom and I truly believed I had found my holy grail, only to discover that it had been discontinued because it was too difficult for LV to procure some of the ingredients. So I was back to searching for the ultimate perfect floral. Chelsea Flowers is IT for me. Not too sweet, not too musky, not too fruity, just a perfect blend of fresh flowers. I can't pick out any flower in particular except for rose, but even the rose in this is fresh and not "old lady" musty. I am absolutely in love and this will be my HG for a while. I am curious to try some of the other Bond No. 9 floral perfumes to see if they are as high quality as this one.

Looooove! Upon first sniff immediately this reminded me of the mid-2000’s and the water-soaked floral scents we were all bombarded with. I mean this in the best way possible, being a millennial who is absolutely shocked to find it’s no longer 2006 😂 I don’t find this stuffy, mature or dry as others have described. This comes across cool, watery and floral — calm and happy. Something in here is coming off fruity but I’m not seeing any fruit notes? Magnolia maybe — typically a note I avoid but am unbothered by lately. Strange but I’m happy nonetheless! This feels like transparent pale green dew.

Chelsea Flowers is the more mature, sophisticated older sister of Pure White Linen. The musk and oakmoss on the back end gives it more depth than PWL. I love ultra feminine florals and this does the trick. Dynamic performance and non-offensive. Great springtime scent. Depending on your $$$$ situation, if you already have PWL, getting Chelsea Flowers is redundant. 5/27/23--applied some after my shower around 7pm last night. It's 11am & I still get healthy wafts as I move around. This is a floral beast!

Love at first smell...yellow, green, pink, white scent it brings...The dry down reminds me of other perfume. Oh yes, it's YSL's "Baby Doll" which I hate (LOL) BD gives me headache but this one contains only the beauty that I want in BD. Really pleasant, fresh and beautiful. Will I purchase this? Maybe if it's on sale...

Call me crazy but Chelsea Flowers rather reminds me of Miss Dior Cherie 2005! But a lot more floral. Such a happy spring fragrance!

A most appealing soapy floral is what Bond no 9 CHELSEA FLOWERS is to my nose. Actually, it seems very close to a hair conditioner floral, though I have not been able to narrow down exactly which hair conditioner. It's not Garnier Fructis, nor Pantene. Could it be L'oreal Vive (the red bottle)? Don't know, but somehow I love the opening of this composition anyway. In fact, I have what may be an irrational reaction to the initial application of this perfume. Yes, I really think that it smells like some hair conditioner in my past and yet together with the melange of florals--which my nose cannot tease out individually, so strong is the hair conditioner note--it actually induces in me a sense of excitement perhaps not unlike Gwyneth Paltrow's ecstatic engagement with Creed SPRING FLOWER. But I do not believe that CHELSEA FLOWERS is a facsmile or copycat of SPRING FLOWER. I think that it's closer to a cross between something like SPRING FLOWER and one of the hair conditioner frags in the D&G Anthology series. Nonetheless, I like it--a lot! The only reason I won't be adding CHELSEA FLOWERS to my collection is because it has the worst staying power of any of the Bond no 9 edps I've tried to date. Given the speed with which I have nearly drained my purse spray, I just cannot justify indulging my irrational fascination with the opening of this fragrance. For it dwindles to nearly nothing in a matter of minutes, leaving me reaching for a refresher again and again...

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Bond’s samples that are wrapped up to look like candies are pretty and cute, but once the wrapper comes off, the vial is definitely not user-friendly. The stopper is always so tightly wedged in that it’s near-impossible to pull out. OK, I know we don’t want leaks, but the user does ultimately need to be able to get to the product. This morning my battle with the little black plug resulted in breaking the top of the glass vial so that I had to decant into one of my own screw-top (you hear that, Bond?) 2 ml mini bottles. I could only hope that it would not be a waste of a good sample bottle. The scent starts off light and airy, a little green, a little like tulip stems, and a little like damp spring air, but then the dreaded lily-of-the-valley rears its Medusa-tentacled head and overpowers the little green things. As it dries down, the LOTV eventually subsides and with it are green tea, hyacinth, and some other unidentifiable flowers. The green tea notes provide a nice counterpoint to the florals, and once the tea kicks in I have to say that I really enjoy the scent. In the end it goes back to a watery, green smell similar to the one that was there in the beginning. For a floral it’s not bad at all. The sillage is good, and it lasts all day, longer on clothing. I can imagine that if you like hardcore florals this would be a good one to try. Just don’t attack the stopper of your bon-bon with a pair of pliers.

I love Chelsea Flowers, maybe because it was my first Bond fragrance. I read these reviews and l feel like l missed something. Someone compared it to Sunflowers, Sunflowers! That stuff smelled like bug spray to me and not at all complex. I don't smell it. Another compared it to Pure White Linen, don't get that either. I find CF much more complex than either one of those. I think it is a lovely, light floral, very floral that smells just like spring. It reminds me of sitting outside in high school during lunch soaking up the first rays of the year. It last long and has really strong sillage for a floral. I still get compliments when l wear it, mostly from women which makes sense since it's not a sexy fragrance. It's a pretty girl, very feminine fragrance. It has a complex composition but l feel as if it is simple as in it's not trying to be anything but what it is...a nice, clean, green floral without any distracting dark base notes. The first day of the year when l wear CF l know spring has sprung.

4/11/2020 - Right now I’m sampling a bunch of Bond 9. I’m really into anything that celebrates being ultra feminine. Think pink, bows, tulle, sparkles - lol! So when some of my samples have what my brain interprets as spicy/unisex-leaning masculine notes from the Bond 9 collection, I’ve been pleased that I have Chelsea Flowers to layer and swing my frag experience over to girly-girl. It reminds me a lot of J’Adore, but I love the better fresh floral market note it has over J’Adore. Maybe it’s a simple, water-fresh note? Perfect when you want something for those sunny days when the temperatures are climbing and you want to keep your fragrance experience linear. I haven’t had the opportunity to ask any men what they think, but because it’s clean and all about celebrating femininity, my guess is they would like it. The same camp who swoons over Dylan Blue and Prada Candy Florale 🌸 ☀️ 💕

11/26/19 - Invigorating, energetic - makes me want to dance around the room, celebrating all there is about being a feminine woman! It’s a floral bomb - but done in a clean, simple, dare I say classy way (ugh - I hate it when frags dump in an OD of musk and vanilla with florals. Thankfully, the creators of Chelsea Flowers understood this nauseating mistake and lifted it higher above those nasty concoctions). This is office-safe and would be a good choice for a young girl’s first perfume. Also - oh, my - yes! Wedding days, prom, homecoming - any type of fancy soirée. If you like Clinique “Happy”, this is for you. Notes:peony, tulip, hyacinth, magnolia, rose, musk, sandalwood, vetiver and moss.

Got this as a sample- to me it smells like decent quality rose but it does not develop into anything else. If I want a rose floral, there are a bunch of fine quality rose scents, not nearly as pricey. It lasts about 3 hours on me.

Chalsea Flower starts with some really good quality of rose + poeny combination, which is floral, light-spirited, inoffensive and femine. There's something fresh and dewy there to make the opening really summery and optimistic. Later on, I experienced a weird irretating phase, Chelsea Flower makes me feel that there's too much of something 'fresh', that makes this perfume kinda 'aquatic',lush, crispy green(as in fresh, not the Floral green perfume kinda green) and cliche as some mass-produced relatively much cheaper floral perfume. After the weird phase, I can smell some well mixed magnolia and old-fashioned rosey scent. Somehow this smells like some generic handwash in a good way. It is quite feminine, but kinda too lack-of-a-backbone to be a niche. The dry down is slightly drier, warmer, sweeter and woodier. I like the dry down the most, however it's just nothing interesting here in the bottle. I do agree with some reviewers below who mentioned Chelsea Flowers smells like conditioner. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, unless you want some really expensive generic and occassionly irretating(maybe it's just my body chemistry), conditioner-smelling thing.

This gave me a cough and a terrible headache. I never take off points for allergic reactions; when I have an adverse reaction to a fragrance, I recognize that the issue is with my body, and it's not the perfumer's fault. However, this one also made my fiance and three of my piano students feel sick, so I think there's an ingredient in here (other than the listed notes) that humans perhaps shouldn't inhale. The scent itself is a very dusty floral. It's not bad, per se, but it made me feel unclean. I'm sure the right sort of person could pull it off, but I certainly would not recommend blind-buying this unless you're a Bond No. 9 collector or you come across a fabulous discount.

Very underwhelming for the price. It smells like roses and face powder, very boring and I wouldn't even say it smells nice. I don't smell anything at all that would denote a quality fragrance or brand. I get the feeling that Bond No 9 is a bit arrogant in that they feel that they can manufacture a sub par perfume because of their "name".

Sherapop is right about the Hair-conditioner overall vibe. Sadly it's not appealing any bit to me. Also aquatic florals get screechy on my skin-chemisty. Boring Boring Boring! There are much better ones out there especially without Bond's ridiculous price tag. 1 of 10

This was a high-pitched, almost green floral on me. I love peony and magnolia, so this should have worked on my skin, but I think the hyacinth is interfering quite a bit. Much too screechy!

This smells more like very clean laundry than flowers. Maybe adding a bit more green to the notes would help. I’m not a fan of super clean scents and so this is really not my cup of tea.

Chelsea Flowers is a historical oddity but a cultural reversion to the statistical mean of feminine fragrances, considering that the Angel "super gourmand" oriental craze of the 1990s began to wane in the early 2000s. This Bond smells like a redo of Tommy Girl, with maybe a drop or two of Creed Spring Flower. I get the same bright and fruity (nondescript fruity) aura as Tommy Girl, but with a better tea note. The first thirty seconds are blindingly fresh, very soapy, a citrusy green tea vibe, and its tartness is akin to the sour open of Spring Flower, but that's where the comparison ends between Chelsea and Spring Flowers. It very quickly segues into a white floral mid, with mostly peony, jasmine, freesia, and lily of the valley. I get only a background hum of rose (very pale rose), and a lot of lily and jasmine on my skin. The freesia and peony are heady and creamy compared to what you might find in your typical feminine, so anyone who likes these notes will probably find something to like in Chelsea Flowers. The tea impression vanishes, leaving mostly the floral tones (blink and you miss it). There's an overlay of that familiar semi-aquatic vibe found in Tommy Girl, here done with perhaps more finesse, using slightly better ingredients, but only slightly. Think if you upgraded from Hilfiger making the scent to Chanel making it instead, and you pretty much have the difference in quality. Notice something there? Still in the designer realm. So this doesn't really meet the stratospheric quality expectations of niche, and that means it's egregiously overpriced. Sorry Bond fans. This smells like a $100 fragrance, not a $300 fragrance. Even paying $150 for 3.3 ounces is overpaying by a fair bit. When my dad smells this on me, he tells me it smells "like you just came out of the shower." That tells you something about its, ahem, shampoo connotations. The good thing about it is that it's fairly tenacious. I get decent performance. Expect this to last from 7 am to at least 2 pm. It's sturdily built, and in that regard you don't mind paying a few pennies more. But am I impressed by this fragrance overall? I'm more confused than impressed. What confuses me the most is that Chelsea Flowers is one of Bond's foundational perfumes, meaning it was in their original 2003 lineup - and they still make it! Yet it doesn't really smell like the sort of thing that would persuade moneyed buyers to commit to the Bond brand in the years that followed. Clearly I'm missing something here. Had I encountered this scent in 2003, I probably would have raised an eyebrow and shook my head. As it stands, I would tell anyone interested in it to check out Tommy Girl first, and do a comparison. If you want a pricey fruity-floral with niche quality ingredients and a far more dynamic performance, go for Creed Spring Flower. Yeah, its bottle is way uglier than Bond's but you can't smell a bottle. I will end by saying though that Bond's packaging, bottle and box, is gorgeous.

Floral, rosy, softly sweet, fresh, green, crisp, bright, musky, feminine, sensual, romantic, chic, classy, elegant, charming, whimsical, uplifting I definitely agree with @lesgalaxies about this reminding me of the “water soaked florals of the mid 2000s”. Think Tommy Freedom, Tommy Girl, Ralph Lauren Ralph, Ralph Cool, Coach Legacy, JPG Classique X, VS Pink (OG), ect. Except this comes with a more prominent rose note, and without the freesia that was so popular back then. On me when this opensI get the slightly waxy and lemony magnolia, fresh hyacinth, lush and dewy peony, fresh and velvety rose. Once it dries down it smooths out more with the addition of soft and powdery musk, a touch of earthy vetiver, and a green scent from the oak moss The rose in this is fresh and dewy, but still rich and velvety. It’s kept light and fresh feeling with lemony magnolia and fresh hyacinth. The rose adds some depth to these lighter florals, so it’s a nice balance. The oak moss adds a soft green scent and the powdery musk helps to soften and smooth the scent out, especially the rose. I only have a sample of this, but it’ll actually last for a little while because this has such exceptional performance. The longevity is impressive, it lasts the entire day, and I can still smell it the next morning. The projection is really great, just 1-2 sprays radiates out several feet.
