Chelsea Nights

Im a guy in my late 20's and this one was definitely unique, different and after sitting with it for a few days, i would even say it is an incredible scent. Its actually so hard to describe and I feel like I can see why many people wouldn't buy a full bottle of this scent and its because when you shop for fragrances, you usually buy "what you have in mind" or something along the lines of "oh this is so me". And you now immediately if its for you or not BUUUUUT I feel like with these niche type of scents you have to really sit with them for a few hours, maybe even days to appreciate the notes also being so well blended. Scents do grow on you. I feel as though people don't like it too much because it is SO different that it would catch you off guard but not in a bad way. Its like in between a sexy, sensual, sophisticated and almost gourmand type of scent. Very warm, SLIGHTLY spicy and SUPER WELL BLENDED. You get this vanilla, semi sweet, half teaspoon of chocolate, cozy warm powdery floral. GREAT date night, chill, relaxed, looking up at the stars, snuggled, cuddled up, but it also has some energy to it. DEFINITELY a head turner. DEFINNITELY UNISEX. Very fresh, rich, luxurious. If you wanted to give your significant other a "hint", just throw this on, no words needed. This is what catnip is to cats. SHE/HE will be all over you. It caught me off guard because of the bottle and the notes. I was expecting a super sweet, maybe even sugary, laundry detergent type of scent. I cant explain how good of a blend this is. That vanilla and suede blends SOOO well with that turmeric, along with the hazelnut, cacao rose and saffron. Its ridiculous how good this is. I've NEVER smelled anything like it. Overall I would give this a 9.5/10

Okay, so like the person below me I wandered into my local Saks looking for a new cologne to add to my small collection, and the woman in charge of the Bond No. 9 section sprayed Chelsea Nights onto a paper for me and said, “take this home. It might not smell like much now but trust me, the drydown is where it’s at.” Damn, was she right. At first I thought it was maybe a bit heavy and cluttered and not really my style, but damn, that drydown? It’s opulent and creamy and just a mix of suede and gourmand goodness. This is almost definitely going to be my next fragrance purchase as soon as Bond No. 9 runs a discount promo over at Saks since I’m flat broke as of now. -- UPDATE 4/14/2023: okay so I finally ended up buying this fragrance. The opening has more of a Middle Eastern vibe than I remembered, with its saffron. But the drydown is still the same sexy, delicious, addictive, chocolatey nirvana I remembered it to be. I will say this as a note of caution, though: apply carefully and delicately. This fragrance is VERY strong and heady, so 1-2 sprays of this should be enough. Trust me, you'll be projecting just fine with 1-2 sprays. And it'll last you until the next morning. What a great, well-worth it buy, honestly.

I sampled today at Saks and smelling my arm 6 hours later (something I’ve done non stop all day) my initial thoughts are this. This is a gourmand for people who prefer Nutella to chocolate syrup, malts to shakes, the cake to the icing (hell they probably order the cheesecake instead of the brownie...). In other words- a gourmand for those who enjoy sharing dessert, but can easily feel queasy when there isn’t something there to cut down the “sweet” in some way. To that end, the saffron is so important and beautiful here (possibly paired with not just amber but ambroxan?). The tuberose note (not listed here but should be) is addicting. The rose, & oud that som say they don’t notice is there to further keep things from going off the sweet deep end, IMO. The cacao is the powder sprinkled on top of Tiramasu, not a Hershey’s bar. I am not a fragrance expert, just a fragrance lover, so take all with a grain of salt.... but bottomline I am *extremely* sensitive and picky with gourmands and this is hella sexy. Probably adding to my FB wishlist.

When I smelled it in the store I didn't like it. At all. I thought it smelled like a spicy hooker. But I kept the tester strip in my pocket and I kept pulling it out the whole time I was at the mall, just to smell it again. There was something intriguing.. i couldnt decide if it was good or bad but it was very new to me. (Think it was the saffron) when i got home I emptied my pockets before bed. My tester strip landed near my pillow. I smelled Chelsea Nights ALL freakin night. By the morning time, I was a full blown addict. The strip weakened after a week (this juice is SO strong) so I had to go back to Nordstrom and try it again.. now.. 2 years later.. I'm still obsessed! Not a safe blind buy at all but I would 100% recommend getting a tester strip and really spending some time with her. Chelsea Nights seriously has me in a choke hold. I'm in love.

First off this is a very unusual gourmand. Definitely not for everyone. It's has warm and cold notes but the cool wins out imo. I get a very cool toned fudgy chocolate with a slight touch of the suede/oud and layered in the turmeric & myrrh(that comes across a little minty/menthol). For that reason I get winter vibes more so than fall. I personally love it's uniqueness and will be enjoying wearing this during Nov/Dec/Jan. Edited to add: Wore it the other day and realized, on my skin, it smelt almost like a chocolate covered pretzel...in the best way possible. Loving this fragrance even more now tbh. 9/10 rating

Tried this in a Saks yesterday and initially, I wasn't impressed. I did a paper test, and it went on very soft. I then did some shopping and went back to the counter and allowed for a skin test. BAYBEH!!! I couldn't stop smelling my arm all day. I pick up the saffron, sesame, vanilla and the oud, which is similar to the oud in Nomad (not too heavy or dominant). This is one you definitely want people to catch a waft of, as it's dreamy. FBW for me, but definitely test! 24+ hours later and I sniffed my sample card and it's still there!

Smells like equal parts of warmed nutella spread thickly on hot from the oven baked sourdough bread and deep dark smoked woods with suede and leather. Sounds strange but it works. Despite the colorful cutesy bottle design, I can’t imagine this working on a woman. This is for the quiet, mysterious guy in the clurb, who’s drawing everyone in without saying or doing much... all aura, with rizz to boot for anyone courageous enough to speak to him.

Best Bond no. 9 fragrance so far. A groundbreaking, addicting chocolate gourmand reminiscent of the Chelsea Hotel. The Chelsea Hotel is a fascinating building, just like Chelsea Nights. The longevity is also superior, but the price point is way too high

Tried this at Neiman's and all I said was damn, damn, damn, DAMN! Bonds best release in a while and I can arguably say this is their best gourmand ... even better than New Haarlem. Im obsessed...I can't wait for Bonds sale to get this.

I own this and it's my favorite perfume, but if you're hesitant about the price I did just discover that layering Lattafa Eclaire with Kayali Vanilla Sugared Patchouli smells nearly identical somehow

I like this. But it’s not I’m in love. I am wearing it to bed it opens up seductive, I am sensing fun temptations and gentle sins. It’s giving cute nosy notes. Waiting for the dry down.

Absolutely exquisite. I love it. It smells like nothing else I have and is an immense compliment getter. The saffron really sets it apart. Another Bond No 9 banger!

At first, it is very spicy (the saffron). It does dry down to a beautiful scent. Very strong. IMHO only really suitable for fall/winter at night.

Absolutely delicious! I NEED THIS. I tried it out at Harrods and upon the first spray, it smelled exactly like freshly baked bread at a bakery! It is so warm and alluring, a perfect gourmand. As it dries down you have a beautiful trail of sweet but not cloying cocoa. UPDATE: Had to pick this one up. There really is not anything like this smell out there as far as I am aware. The bread note is uncanny and the cocoa dry down is so warm and inoffensive. This and Lafayette Street will be my hot/cold signatures for life. SECOND UPDATE: My bottle from MaxAroma doesn't really smell like the tester I had tried in-store. There is no freshly baked bread smell, the hazelnut cocoa notes are still very pleasant and the patchouli is a bit stronger than I remember and the performance is excellent. My mum adores this scent so I'm probably going to gift it to her and accept my losses (I won't be paying full retail for a new one just to see if it smells like I remembered).

A chocolatey patchouli and saffron... I don't usually like patchouli, but the patchouli in this perfume didn't bother me at all. At the first opening, I smelled a distinct leathery scent. I thought it was labdanum, but it was suede. Unfortunately, I can't pick out the hazelnut note at all. I heard a hint of rose, but it disappeared immediately. Although there is a trace of the classic patchouli-rose-agarwood trio, the scent is not based on it. The exaggerated sweetness of the opening softens with time. It is a bit like Black Phantom by Kilian. It doesn't have that boozy vibe, instead it has a leather note. It's not a fragrance to fall in love with, but it's a usable winter scent. Unisex, moderate sillage and high lasting power.

Warm, sexy, edible. This reminds me of a late aughts Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Sexy and oh so sweet. Warm, chocolate dessert. This is the scent you wear when you want your ears bitten. It's attractive in the way that the smell of freshly baked cookies might draw someone into a kitchen. When I first sprayed, I smelled the acetone nail polish notes that others have reported, but with the dry-down the cocoa hazelnut suede and oud came through most prominently. This is undeniably a winter night scent. This is unisex, but definitely gourmand. Film wise, I'll compare it to 2011's Friends with Benefits.

Sex in a bottle! 🥵 Spicy, nutty, warm with just the right amount of floral to keep it feminine. I will admit the first time I tried it, I sprayed too close to the skin and I did not enjoy it. It overwhelmed me and gave me a headache. But I’m no quitter! I tried it again using the spray and walk into it method. Thats where it’s at folks!! Im so glad a tried it again because wowzers 🤩

this fragrance is definitely female leaning the dry down of this fragrance is really nice other than that it’s a real Nutella , nutty smelling scent i ended up giving it to my girlfriend i don’t feel like it’s worth the price tag of it and it’s in my opinion worn better on a female , a guy could pull it off although if you’re into gourmet edible type of smells

If identifying as non-binary was in a bottle, this is it. There is a lot going on with the juxtaposition of notes: is it sweet? Is it woody? Is it a gourmand? It works impressively well! You want to smell good but you truly want to be in neutral territory, wear this. There is something for everyone’s nose here.

Chelsea Nights is the best cacao fragrance that I’ve tried. I found the initial opening a little off putting but It quickly turns into a super smooth and pleasant blend of notes. Not blind buy worthy at this price but definitely one to get your nose on if you’re looking for a beautiful cacao fragrance.

Warm gourmand, cacao heavy, pretty, feminine leaning. It is interesting, but not exactly the scent profile I am after right now. However, if you want unique gourmands, check this one out!

Nothing remarkable about this fragrance especially when you take into consideration the abysmally high price tag for it. Does it smell so good that I’d consider purchasing a full bottle? Absolutely not. The scent is nutty, with some hints of cacao, saffron, and the oud isn’t overpowering or in your face, it’s either well blended or my nose just doesn’t pick it up. The scent is not syrupy, sticky sweet, or dense. It has a dusty quality to it and usually with gourmand fragrances, I prefer a creamy or smooth texture (I don’t mind powdery/dusty textures in gourmands as long as the scent profile grips me). Bond No.9 may be an ‘underrated’ perfume house, but what they have released and what I’ve tried thus far doesn’t justify the high price point whatsoever. The bottle designs are probably the only part of the perfume that I actually like. The scent is wearable, but it isn’t great or anything groundbreaking as I’ve smelled better fragrances from niche and even designer houses that are far better in terms of value for your money.

So, I sprayed Chelsea Nights on the back of my hand at Neiman's. I had washed my hands three times since, and it's still permeating 6 hours later. Bulletproof longevity? YEP. It's hazelnut all the way through (the official website doesn't mention hazelnut though?), it's done VERY well... not in the sense of overly sweet Nutella, but more like an actual roasted hazelnut with genuine cacao. Sweet enough, but not sweetness overload. Unisex for sure. (Also: Muse is sweeter and softer, and has its own personality - I wouldn't really compare the two.) Overall, CN reminds me of Italian sweets; it's like wearing chocolate hazelnut torrone! I do have a personal con, though: I'm too sensitive to saffron. I've noticed most fragrances containing this note are overbearing on me. At the end of the night, I felt suffocated by the saffron, and I think the turmeric was just adding to the saffron disaster CN became on my skin.

This is an okay fragrance. Meaning it’s good enough, but I wouldn’t get a sample or decant of it again. At first I layered it with Xerjoff Golden Dallah and thought those two together were amazing. Then wore it on its own, and it didn’t move me. At first I thought I was getting cocoa, then realized that it’s probably more hazelnut and wood with some cocoa. It’s okay. Patchouli, Cacao, Saffron, Hazelnut are pretty much all I smell. Very well blended because it feels very balanced, I just can't place any other particular note, but this fragrance IS smooth. A masculine (leaning unisex) buttery gourmand. Don't think it's quite right for me, but I can acknowledge it's a good fragrance for someone who would enjoy this scent profile. Heavy hitter too, go light on the sprays. This could choke somebody out.

I'm into overly sweet gourmand fragrances, so I decided to get a sample before purchasing the full bottle first and I'm glad I did because the smell was an absolute no for me. At first the perfume smelled too rubbery on me I guess that's because of the leather then some time passed by and I would get whiffs of oud which isn't that bad, I was just hoping for the vanilla and the cacao to be stronger but it was quite the opposite.

Bummer, I didn’t like this at all. Didn’t get anything other than suede-oud-patchouli. Very similar to TF Tobacco Vanilla which I don’t like either. I got none of the top or middle notes. I love saffron and NOPE, it was MIA for me. This fragrance house hasn’t been successful for me yet. Best thing about this one is the bright bottle.

I tried it as Saks today and damn.... I thought I would love it but it was nothing like the note breakdown and accords say, this is a 100% try before you by scent. Not for me, it was pretty gross to my nose and I usually love bond scents. But with that being said I only did a paper test.

Hmmm Not understanding the comparison to Muse. I like the Cacao in this fragrance but not so much the animalic vibe that comes with it. I'd say it's the oud but before I looked at the actual notes I smelled castoreum.

Scrubber 😷 far too overpowering

I don’t know I could be wrong But I gotta go back to Parfums De Marly Haltane and compare the two to see what the actual differences are before a full bottle purchase of this pricy monster! I’m thinking it’s the praline in Haltane and chocolate in this one. This one seems like It’s a Beastmode performer! I put this on me the last couple times in Sakks & each time was blown away by this one! Not so much Haltane. I do love how the Vendors often wanna shit on Bond No 9! I was just there smelling Maison Crivelli’s This dude keeps spraying Xerjoff’s that I already own saying check out this one & I keep saying “No” Or “I have it” So He says WHAT DID YOU COME FOR??? And I turned around right behind me & pointed to the Bond counter & before I could respond He says Why do you wanna go for trash when there is treasure..”Hmmph” The Haltane thru sampling gave me a hint of that MFK 540 vibe in it Or so I thought. Let me know if anyone has purchased Chelsea Nights. I’m eyeballing future reviews on this one.

I love this one- and I’m a gourmand girl. So it’s no surprise that it’s one of my top 5s. The sophistication that this gives off is why I love it. It’s fluffy chocolate and vanilla, dusted with powdery woods grounded in an earthy, light leathery, floral sexiness. It says to me “I’m sexy but I’m also not worried about what you think” 😂 it’s warm but not spicy in any way so I thinks its s suitable for day or night- but I’d definitely say it leans more feminine forward because the rose is there and it’s a powdery rose. 10/10 for longevity and good projection. Major compliments always when I wear this.

there is something.... off-putting about this. and i cant figure out what it is. when i first spray it i smell leather, rose, a tinge of vanilla, a tinge of hazelnut, and then.... nail polish. but not like DIRECT nail polish. it smells like im smelling all these notes, but then there's someone across the room painting their nails. idk, does anyone else get this? its a very odd scent for me. i dont hate it, but i dont really like it. i got this in a trade and i'll probably give it away to a family member.

After a couple more comparisons it’s both a little sweeter & a little superior to Haltane although not much!! I’ve always kept my other half with Mugler Angel Muse parfum because I love it on her..It’s discontinued now & it’s going for a lot of money where Chelsea Nights is starting to be seen discounted. I thought I would want this. But know she would love to have it with what ever the excact diff tweaks that are in this one!

I love love love New Bond St (which has some similar base notes: cocoa, hazelnut, vanilla) so I thought naturally I would be obsessed with Chelsea Nights as well. Unfortunately this is an absolute patchouli BOMB on me. I like a light patchouli here and there, but this is very patch heavy. Lasts foreverrrrrr - I couldnt get it off my skin for a good 8+ hours! Sillage & longevity are phenomenal if you like this one!

Chelsea Nights smells nothing like Angel Muse on my skin. That is a decadent, delicious perfume-y gourmand while this perfume has that barbecue smoky smell I cannot stand. I don't sense any hazelnut or chocolate. Maybe I have a bad sample but this smells cheap. Edit: smells a tiny bit better after a few months but still like bbq.

This is like the gothic sister of TriBeCa. It took a handful of wears to really appreciate the spicy, chocolatey vibes this gives off without being thrown off by the oud or the patchouli. Cool weather, night time kind of fragrance. If I end up enjoying it a lot it I’ll buy a bottle (not at retail) but it’s very solid

Chelsea Nights is an absolutely gorgeous scent. It is so incredibly sexy and lasts a long time. Definitely one of my favorite Bond perfumes and I love the way I feel when I wear it ! Update- try layering/blending Chelsea Nights with Nomad- omg it is amazing !

This one is amazing! Just got it in the mail and can’t wait to wear it this winter! Puts me in the mind of Off Broadway by B9... but a bit spicier and not as potent

Very nice fragrance. Could have done without the oud, but I like that the spices, chocolate and patchouli are in this. Great for cold weather.

It’s okay. The performance is awesome, I have just smelled better. It also leans a bit too masculine for me.
