Chez Bond Chez Bond! I am about to sing My, My, My by Johnny Gill to this bottle because it’s so damn fine. Chez opens with GREEN!!! If you are still learning and you want to understand what a green fragrance is, the opening on Chez is a prime example. After the first 10 seconds the green fades just a bit and you're met with a grassy/tea vibe, which is just as invigorating as the initial burst. The fragrance sits like this on my skin for about 30 minutes to an hour and then the Sandalwood makes a noticeable appearance, alongside the woody note of Cedar. Shay is a very refreshing, woody fragrance with a touch of citrus that I just cannot ignore. Though woody and green, there is also something aquatic about it. I would wear Chez Bond all Spring and Spring alone. Do not be deceived, though I am limiting it to one season, this fragrance is VERY versatile. “Aloysius, if it’s limited to one season, how is it versatile?” Step into this classroom, I got you. Though this is a Spring fragrance, you can do anything with it. Dinner date, check. Walk on the beach, check. Movie theater date, check. Presentation at your job, promotion, getting fired, about to fire somebody, ALL CHECK!. Lol I am getting carried away, but you get it. This is definitely a sleeper hit. I started to gatekeep this fragrance, you’re lucky I like you. lol I say at the very least, if you’re into green fragrances, get a sample and let me know what you think. In my writeups, I prefer not to talk about cost. Most fragrances are too expensive at retail, but between the gray market and second hand “buy and release” options, price is totally subjective. Gently spicy bergamot, bitter orange and lime open with what seems like lavender - grassy & green green green. For me, it is, shall I say, bewitching? This is a dry, citric greenness. The only sweetness is the bright fruit. There's even a little umami or cardboard? petrichor? wet stone? on my skin - pleasant and adds to the complexity. I might be reading a metallic violet leaf note this way - that would make sense. My first love in this green/aromatic fougère style is the classic Paco Rabanne pour Homme, which is sweeter and stronger. But Chez Bond insinuates and is more intimate while reading as drier and more relentlessly green. This is the green of dew on the grass and first spring flowers in the morning as the sun opens the fields; of cool, moist, narrow paths lined by shrubs and young trees with new leaves nearly filled out. As the fragrance dries down, it gets sweeter, though never cloying. First, the tea note comes up from behind the citrus and green, then woods start to emerge, but I cannot perceive which woods they are. The cedar note is not powerful, but soft, and could just as readily be other woods just to my nose. That said, the more I sniff, the more cedar seems obvious up front. The longevity and sillage of Chez Bond are on the light side of moderate; nevertheless, it persisted (=see what I did there=) for me for about half a work day, and that was plenty. Big thumbs up on this beautiful stuff - one of the most elegant freshies, ever.

Chez Bond by Bond No 9 is a great and individual fragrance that has notes of fruits, tea, grass, sandalwood, green notes, violet leaf, vetiver and cedar. To me the aroma feels so vibrant and fresh that I was pleasantly surprised and happy to have this in my collection. A burst of citruses come through first then the tea softens the aroma a little which is lovely for the freshness of the green notes that awaken Chez Bond from its little slumber to happily coexist with sandalwood and vetiver. Longevity was long lasting with 8-12 hours consistently which I loved as I just adored this fragrance over any other Bond I had and have in collection, even preferred Chez Bond over Bleecker St. Yet in another twist I used to layer Chez Bond & Bleecker St together and the aroma of both of them was phenomenally good, but I digress. Projection of Chez Bond is long lasting up to 8 hours which is really good and quite a surprise initially when I started wearing this fragrance when the weather was warmer. Overall, I really liked Chez Bond and would like to have it back in my collection soon as it’s light, fresh and airy and for me slightly more wearable than Bleecker St. An absolute repurchase in my book.

One of the most beautiful compositions I've EVER smelled! It opens up very with very green and citrusy sharp notes - I guess it's a mix of violet leaf, grass and citruses. Soon it gets much smoother(but still green) when tea comes in. It's very calming, but still refreshing, a little more balmy than in the beggining. The base is woody, but tea and green notes still are there in the background. Cedar is much more prominent than vetiver. Longevity is excellent - it stays on me easilly for 8-9 hours, but the sillage is below average and it's mainly a skin scent - projects good for about 30-45 minutes. Does it remind me of anything? Well - yes. I feel like it has some DNA of Platinum Egoiste - it has its greennes but without that metallic touch. The mix of tea, citruses and violet leaf smell a bit like opening of Gucci Pour Homme II (but it's much different than Gucci - it's not so spicy, much smoother and balmier). Is it worth its price? To me - definitely. You are paying for the quality of this fragrance here. And you can feel the quality of each ingredient. It's the most versatile fragrance that I know - I guess. And I have to have it.

This indeed is a GIT inspired /clone frag. At least I can say easily copied since it came later and the differences are minimalistic, but the differences can make you choose on or the other because of the opening! Opening on GIT: Strong bold citrusy and green vibes and bit salty from the ambergris.. which lacks in chez bond. Opening chez bond: more woody and green opening then GIT, it’s like a dry sandalwood opening with that green verbena kind of vibe.. Drydown: can’t tell them apart.. haha. The performance however is similar, unless you can find a GIT 2014 <- you might find stronger scents. Although I like this, I like the opening of GIT more. This is bit more airy and softer if that makes sense, while GIT is more thick (opening only new batches). So it’s up to you, as my older GIT are empty I won’t buy a new batch and use chez bond, let’s see if I will love this as much. Quality is good.. and people who compare these to CW. This one is bit more close.. GIT has that creed signature which really makes it different enough from CW
