Dubai Emerald

Is it a unique scent? Yes. Does it project well? Yes. Is it overpriced? Yes and that's how less people wear it. You don't want to enter a room projecting Ombre Leather like 15 other dudes thinking you're hot shit. This is a beautiful scent where the rose is not too rosy. The saffron is not too saffron-ny. For me it leaves a beautiful sandalwood mixed with a woody layer after 4 hours. This perfume projects well. You can wear it as is, or layer it with one or two sprays to spruce up something else. This perfume is for special occasions where you want to announce to the world you've not just entered, you've arrived.

great lasting power, nice sillage. Starting as a clinical oud smell but within 5 minutes it is evolving pure roses. Then saffrons starting to get a role in the scene. Somehow bond able to create one of the cleanest leather scents and it becomes more prominent after 30 minutes. Musky leather takes the stage with rose and saffron. This line is really an artistry of perfume, you can choose each stage even if you have not a trained nose. I did not get comparision with mfk oud silk mood. Since Mfk is bold, this one is transparent. Mfk is darker, this one is lighter. Mfk is more serious, this is more playful, jammy.

This one is definitely for rose lovers. If you want a very rare unique rose fragrance that doesn't have that typical smell that you expect a rose perfume to have, look no further. Emerald is the fragrance for you, with its very exotic notes almost like rubber/tire/plastic woody smell mixed with a lot of rose and saffron, makes this fragrance a rose gem. The rose is slightly sweet but gurjum balm, cypriol, saffron and leather give this fragrance a very unique oriental smell that I cannot get enough from. Amazing projection and long lasting performance. This one is definitely on my list to buy.

one of the smoothest most unique statement making fancy scents... It is not like any leather fragrances you've come across very unique very smooth sophisticated clean no dirt leather with loads and i mean load of very spicy hot saffron.... Projection is brutal and longevity as well... This is the kind of scents you wear to a gala event or red carpet to announce your presence immediately yet still smells very unique.

This fragrance is amazing - strong, long-lasting, with excellent projection, beautiful and exotic. Similar to New York Oud, but less sweet and much more dramatic. Likewise, somewhat Reminiscent of Kilian's Gold Oud, though the elements differ, and Emerald definitely standing out as much more crisp. Having tried all 3 exclusives, this is by far my favorite. I purchased almost immediately.

I get a lot of rose and oud, the oud is not skanky at all but kinda like the one that's burning, incense type. The opening is very strong but once it settles, it creates a bubble of beautiful oudy rose. I do get a hint of leather here and there. Overall excellent scent if you into middle eastern scent profiles. I think the performance on this one will be out class.

I have tried many rose fragrances over the past few years. but Emerald surpasses all. It's a rare rose with a dusty vibe. The opening can be a bit pungent but; Emerald is exactly how I like my frag to be in both longevity and silage. Not for the faint at heart. . This fragrance exudes Class and Luxury. It's a statement making frag for opulent and dominate guys.

This fragrance is amazing. It is strong and long lasting with good projection. It clearly uses better ingredients than most perfumes. It is a good rose with strong woody notes. The initial opening is strong and settles fast and the dry down is lovely.

My brother has this scent purchased in 2022 and I haven't worn it since those few times 4 years ago. I forgot about it because it's a very common scent DNA but I decided to wear it again and it's a good scent but very similar to something I already own which is Histories 1.3, NY Oud, and countless other rose, oud, saffron, patchouli fragrances. Absolutely not worth the dubai price premium imo. I do like the fragrance if it was maybe 100-140 USD — and the bottle is really nice. But it just doesn't offer anything that I haven't tried 3 dozen times already. Vintage NY Oud with the plumb note is a better fragrance IMO but if you can find this for cheap and you like the cool bottle and this scent profile, it's a good buy.

First impression is that I've smelled this before in Bond New York Oud and MFK Oud Silk mood. Earthy leather and green patchouli in addition to the oud and rose. It smells sophisticated and gentlemanly. The base is almost 1x1 identical to MFK Oud Silk Mood which is a mixture of papyrus and Oud. Scent 6.8/10 Performance 8/10

Saffron & rose note is prominent here and smell similar to Thameen Nassak, since the main ingredients is the same like saffron, rose and sandalwood. To me, this is harsher than Thameen Nassak. This is good if you want to smell arabian oriental plus stands out in the crowd

This is a strong scent for mild cool weather, fall/winter, day and night. The opening is very strong and very harsh, it burns slightly my nose. Cypriol is way too much, dominates in everything. Feels like a storm which covers the rest notes. Rose is here trying to emerge but it is suffocating in excessive spiceness and cypriol. There is an acidic smell in this scent. Saffron is milder than the rose. There is also intensive leather note and strong patchouli. The rest notes are very mild. I also get camphor. This is not for rose lovers and it's much harsher than Bond No 9 New York Oud which feels like velvet compared to Emerald. Overall it feels like a mediocre arabic scent, like an experiment. Like an orchestra where everyone tries to be louder than the rest. There is no harmony. It is a very long lasting scent with heavy sillage.

Sales associate spritzed me with this and I immediately recoiled - what a jumble of mismatched notes and something that resembled a badly done violet leaf. Only after a very long wait did the drydown reveal something nice, spicy and woody. IMHO, the perfume is badly blended, lacks direction and is extremely overpriced for the dreck that it is. Like one of my early perfumery experiments gone very wrong - a chemical weapon.

I just cannot fathom what Bond were attempting to do with this one and charging £480 for it as well. I said to my wife that it smells like an old man's socks, she seemed to find it okay but it is a straight thumbs-down for me. The cypriol and leather are too overpowering and I found it quite disgusting. If there was any fragrance that I would buy from this range, it would be Dubai Jade.

This smells really dusty, I'm not sure why this is the case- genuinely gross, the lady was trying to sell this as a good leather scent but I just thought it was pretty bad.

RAM = Recognizing A Masterpiece --- Dubai Emerald, Eau de Parfum, by Bond No 9 REVIEW– – Before doing anything for the testing, I applied some unscented lotion / moisturizer around my skin, especially neck areas to ensure that my skin was well moisturized, with no possibility of dryness. I have not been stressed over the past 48 hours, prior and during the test. I have not been eating raw onions or garlic over the past 48 hours, which could have “potentially” affected my skin scent, triggering undesired biases. I applied a total of five full sprays, two on each side of neck; one in the front of my neck. Further on factors that could have potentially affected performance of the scent, I even avoided going to the cafeteria at work, in order, not to have smoky / greasy odors landing on my skin. I usually take extra precaution whenever I'm testing a particular fragrance, so the results are, as credible and realistic, as possible. During warmer weathers, late Spring into Summer, I sometimes apply on my wrists, especially if I wear just a sweater or short sleeves. During the Winter, I don't bother with the wrists or inner elbows. Dubai Emerald, Eau de Parfum, by Bond No 9 was released in 2015, and according to Fragrantica, these are the notes: Top notes: saffron and hyssop (hsyssopus officinalis) Middle notes: gurjum balm, rose flowers Base notes: patchouli, sandalwood, amber, cypriol, and amber ** Cyperus scariosus, also known as Cypriol, and in Hindi as Nagarmotha, is identified by its woody and earthy fragrance, a hybrid scent existing between cedar, vetiver and patchouli with fleeting notes of cinnamon. ** Gurjum Balsam essential oil is a steam-distilled resin gum from the Dipterocarpus turbinatus tree in Malaysia. Gurjum balsam essential oil offers a warm, nutty scent that is both fresh and calming. It is primarily used as an aid for respiratory health and function and is one of our most powerful healing oils. The Dubai Collection is geared toward the Middle East, and this fragrance is centered around leather. Right from the opening, the saffron, along with the strange mixture of ingredients from hyssop introduced themselves to create some harsh opening, which can be irritating to the nostrils, as they lingered for about 45 minutes, then dissipated. Those who attempt to purchase at first sniff, without letting the fragrance settle for few minutes would quickly dismiss it, as repulsive. The gurjum balsam then kicked in, overpowered the rose flowers, which are barely noticeable, in order (for the gurjum balsam) to trade licks with the base notes for approximately 2-3 hours, then faded away. The base notes then seized control of the scene, with each strongly making its presence known, then they eventually surrendered to the leather and cypriol from the 6th / 7th hour -- all the way to the end. This being said, the fragrance is extremely well blended. It takes you to an interesting escapade from various projection phases throughout its fantastic journey. It is, without a doubt, one of the best leather-centered fragrances ever formulated. Needless to say, it's a masterpiece – a word that I don't lightly use. On sillage... It fills up a room. This fragrance triggers enormous trails of scent bubbles while I walked by. Whenever I do these tests, I usually have a female friend queuing me, by indicating when / if she could smell me after walking by few times, and she acknowledged so each time. On projection... It projects quite far, at approximately 20 feet / 6 meters. On longevity... It lasted for approximately 10 / 12 hours, bopping my head side-to-side until I could no longer (smell it) get any whiff of it. A little after 12 hours, I still could faintly smell it. Not long after, the scent totally evaporated, as my friend could no longer smell it – unless she buried her nostrils on my neck for some faint smell. I'm so impressed with the overall performance of this fragrance. It's quite unique, and I cannot think of any other scents to compare it to. On pricing... This is a non-Tester bottle, new, in box, never been used, for an awesome deal, considering it's a well-respected niche House. Is it worth its retail price of $550? YES. The reason being, I believe it's a masterpiece with a rather unique scent. It has depth and character. It's intriguing. It's complex. It's opulent. I'd owned few non-Dubai ones, which I've sold, due to pure boredom with them. This one is my third from the Dubai Collection, as the Amber being my very first, a Tester, on a blind-buy, which I love, with superb performance. I will certainly purchase a backup retail bottle. As I purchase other ones from this exclusive collection, I will provide (written) reviews. Aesthetics / Presentation... As far as I'm concerned, these bottles are absolutely beautiful, and they're quite heavy, too. You just don't want to accidentally drop them. In Conclusion... This is a great fragrance, a Middle Eastern exclusive, that's centered around leather, and it's perfectly blended. It conveys class, sophistication, maturity, and wealth / opulence – particularly the latter. This is the kind of fragrance that experienced collectors / aficionados / connoisseurs will appreciate for its overall artistic components.

The amazing Dubai Emerald - strong, long-lasting, with excellent projection, it is beautiful and exotic for anyone to enjoy. This is not too sweet as your typical oud fragrance, but less sweet and much more dramatic. Having purchased three of the exclusives, this is by far my favorite. Rose lovers out there, if you want a unique rose fragrance that doesn't have that typical smell that you expect a rose perfume to have, look no further and look for a tester for this gem.

Dubai Emerald by Bond No9 is an ultra refined leather fragrance with spicy, ambery and woody notes playing supporting roles. This fragrance made it to my top 5 fave purchase of 2019! Tho' I still have eyes on AdP Colonia Leather and Cuir Intense, Dubai Emerald remains my best leather themed fragrance for now...

I honestly don't know where the leather people are referring to in this fragrance; this is Montale's Black Aoud redux all the way. Not worth the price- retail or grey market either.

Just bought it and I think I like it! It's different. First spray is irrelevant. It's a settling perfume with unfolding scent surprises.
