I went to Saks Fifth Ave. to try "Eau de New York" (which I was dieing to try for months and months). Big disappointment all I could get out of it was that overbearing smell of neroli (overkill)and woods. So I went through the collection and came across The Hamptons. love at first smell. When I first sprayed it on the scenery of fresh Magnolias and soft jasmines filled my mind. I've smelled jasmine before and I hate it its strong and old fashioned, but in Hamptons its young and vibrant. The Magnolia is soapy and sensual. As it dries down the citrus notes start to come in, instead of the strong orangy or limey scent most fragrances have, Hamptons has more of a tarty candy like arrangment. My favorite part of the drydown is when the candied citruses meet the calm turkish rose which makes this scent classy and unforgettable. The lasting power is unreal I spray it on yesterday at 5:30 p.m. and it was 8:00 in the morning when I woke up and the fragrance was still there not a trail, but actually still on me. This fragrance reminds me of the forals in M by Mariah carey (warm). Overalln will I buy it again ($175) maybe but I do want to try more of the Bond 9 collection. I call it a evening to night time scent. You don't have to like the scent, but you have to respect the fact that this scent has one of the most stunningly beautiful forals, if not the best than any other scent in this category. The forals are just creamy and captivating.

Rewriting my review on this one: Many of Bond's "unisex" fragrances are quite feminine to me, so this is one that I judged by its cover and just assumed "that looks girly". Mild mistake on my part! This fragrance has grown on me, and is one of very few scents that has garnered ENTHUSIASTIC compliments, not just a "mmm you smell nice" but more like an astounding "WOW" or two. I immediately get the resemblance to Creed Silver Mtn Water; in fact I feel like this scent is a more "floral" spin on Creed's famous "inky tea leaf notes" of SMW. It's a beautiful fragrance in its entirety, and I'm not well versed enough to singly select notes of specific flowers, but the best I can say is that it's a "soft white/light yellow floral smell" with a citrus zest top and a dry sandalwood base. To me the musk kind of mingles throughout and it's a great supporting ingredient and never stands out for me too much. This reminds me of Calvin Klein CK One in a sense---now wait, hear me out!---, not by the smell but because it's absolutely proper unisex! A boyfriend and girlfriend could wear this at the same time, still smell mildly unique to each other AND it's a genuine proper wear for both of them! (I actually shared a bottle of CK One with a girl friend in high school) This went from a "like" to a "Love" for me and I rate this 9 out of 10!

This is the highlight of my fragrance collection and for good reason. I read some of the comments on this and I just have to say WTF. I'm a 23 year old college student and bought BOND NO 9 Hamptons for myself after smelling some of the samples of it. All I have to say about this amazing fragrance is if Jesus was still alive he would wear this . The initial blast of the fragrance I'm not gonna lie is very girly as it smells very floral but the magic happens about 30minutes to 1 hour into the fragrance were it evolves into one of the best scents I have ever smelled in my life. I can't really pinpoint what I smell but let's just say it's one of those scents girls would kill you just to get your shirt and smell the shit out of it all day. When I wear this i literally spread my hands out like I'm a saint as it just fills me with confidence. Can't go wrong with this scent as it also last 24 hours plus on clothes and 6 hours on my skin which is a cologne repellant. This is definitely gonna be my favorite for some time even with some heavyweights like Creed Aventus and Bond NO 9 Wall Street on my wishlist.

I asked for a fresh light fragance in the men counter the first two she showed me were Hamptons and Creed SMW. For my nose this doesnt smell the same but some people may find similarities in some moment on the duration of the fragance, Hamptons smell lot more clean and flowery and SMW more grass and something weird in the opening. I really like this Hamptons. I am still trying how many sprays to get to get the best result. in clothes it last for days!!! really!!. When I put Hamptons I feel so fresh and calm, exactly my style, I have found the perfect fragance for me. I will love to use it even in winter (in texas is like 2 months only) will see if it works. UPDATE.I have try almost all the line, and I haven't found any other bond no 9 product that I like this will become my signature

My favorite Bond fragrance. I tried this for thr first time at a perfume shop in Las Vegas. I loved the fragrance from smelling the bottle, so I sprayed 2 sprays on myself and went about my day. At the end of the day I could still smell it on me, after a full day of walking around in August in Vegas. This scent makes me feel clean and well put together, it gives me a vibe of elegance and richness. After looking at reviews, I tried Creed Silver Mountain Water since I read they were very similar. I prefer the scent SMW because it is slightly more soft to me but the projection and longevity of Hamptons is way more powerful so I think I will be rebuying Hamptons until I get tired of it, which may be never!

I'm a big fan of SMW and Mefisto, so using the two of them as my reference point, I blind bought a full bottle of Hamptons. I'm impressed! It's a very pleasant fragrance. I notice that it's muskier and more floral than SMW, but not quite as floral as Mefisto. Hamptons is a strong performer and deserves to be in the same league with both of them. It's totally unisex and would smell fantastic on anyone. It's a winner and a love. Scent: 8.5/10 Longevity: 9/10 Projection: 7/10 Price/Performance Ratio: 8/10

Very much the vibe of Creed Silver Mountain Water, but in my opinion, much better. This is one of the few fragrances I’ve sampled that I was like, “Wow.” I never get tired of it, and have received more compliments with it than anything else. SMW with a musky aquatic that is absolutely beautiful... particularly the dry down. And yes, ‘Hamptons’ all the way — rich, tan, attractive friends, drinks on the lawn, a cool, salt-infused breeze, and darkened shades as dusk draws near.

Kept spraying this through out the day. it seemed to fade at an approximate 2.5 hours. Its opens with an herbal sage spice note deep bergamot intensely for a second, then breaking way to a sweet, sexy fresh musk with woodsy undertones. I dont like herbal scents but this one doesnt bother me, it isnt very herbal its a very complex and refined scent. It feels good to have on. i would say its sexier than the creed's silver water mountain and does alot more for the senses

I see this scent gets lots of hate but this was my fancy guy juice back in 2017. I used to wear this scent when I wore my sherbert orange ralph lauren chinos, this scent matches perfectly! You have to wear this stuff in high heat to get the full effect or it'll smell tart for some reason. I only wear this bad boy when it's 90 degrees plus and I've had women try to steal my bottle lol This is the one they spray on themselves immediately when they sniff the bottle!

My go-to summer fragrance—the one I reach for without even thinking. It opens with that breezy, salty-air freshness that instantly puts me in a “beach weekend” mood, then settles into a clean, sun-polished mix of florals and woods that feels effortlessly chic. It’s bright, coastal, a little flirty, and somehow always makes me feel like I’m stepping into my own little slice of luxury. If summer had a signature scent for me, this would be it.

Fresh. Citrusy, lemon... ohhhh boy be careful wearing this. This is a head turner. A compliment getter. I recall almost making this a signature scent. Although I didn’t, it’s a top 5 fragrance. Even Bond no9 doesn’t have it in stock. Don’t let people fool u, this is one that MUST be in every connoisseur’s rotation at some point. I’ll NEVER be without a bottle of this, even if I have to pay TOP dollar for it. It’s just that essential.

I'm not someone who gets offended when people bash fragrances that totally love. Everyone doesn't know how to wear fragrance properly so I'll say this... This is super fantastic, fancy & fresh! You must wear this in the high heat to get the best performance. I sprayed this around a group of women and I had to protect my bottle because they were trying to jack me lol. People will think that you're fancy if you wear this!

I tried this as a sample "candy wrapper" vial and it was love @ first spray! It's as fresh as an Ocean breeze with some beautiful floral notes and a stunning dry-down! This THE consumate Springtime scent...like being on a nice boat off the coast enjoying the Sun and the scent of the salt air! I HIGHLY recommend it...Bond 9 does an impeccable job with their fragrances using the most refined ingredients!

It is its own fragrance, and one of the better offerings from Bond. The comparisons to SMW are perhaps justified, but Hamptons releases different notes at different times and abstractly captures the spirit of high society life near the water. It also has more citrus and none of the inkiness of SMW. Better sillage and lasts longer than the other. And more balanced. Easier to live with. Easier to love.

I love clean unisex fragrances so this did not disappoint. I wear this and gave Creed's Silver M. Water and Imperial Millesime to my husband. We both feel Bond No. 9 is more unisex than Silver M.W. I love the complicated layers of this fragrance. If you love unisex style fragrances for women let me also suggest Valentino V. (Valentino) and Creed's Millesime 1849.

I really enjoyed wearing Hamptons, but some of whom I asked said they thought it was a little too distinctive. It reminds me a bit of Creed's Silver Mountain Water that I love, but my wife hates. It has a hint of dirtiness in it, which I think adds to it's sexiness, maybe it's similar to that dirty salt smell of the ocean.

One of my favorite fragrances. Works very well on me and it smells like a true summer delight. Wore this while walking around Las Vegas and it seemed as if it was drawing people closer to me. Definitely an even unisex blend with a strong citrus that calms down into a nice woody scent.

My most worn summer scent over the years. Also, among my collection this is the most sprayed and enjoyed by my friends. I get average performance as with the other Bond summer scents. Big love. Makes me feel like the Great Gatsby. Rating - 8-8.5/10

I bought this bottle when it was first released. Its beautiful and fresh perfect for FL hot summers. One of my favorite Bonds. Get it at a discounter and you win. I paid full price back in the day when they cost around 280 a bottle.

One of my favourite Bond scents....projection is amazing from start to finsih all i get throughout a wearing is this beautiful rose scent with a little salty aquatic note. This Is truly a gem! Bottle worthy on to the next

Initially overpowering but settled into the perfect blend of florals and woody undertones. Took me too long to give this one a proper chance.

Opens up very floral but then the dry down is beautiful. And I get 12+ hrs with this fragrance

Bond No 9 Hamptons open with a fresh combination of citrus, woody, and floral tones; the initial projection is soft. The citrus notes are bergamot and lemon, they create a sharp note that makes the fragrance feel refreshing but they are not alone; equally projecting are the cedar, which adds its clean fresh woody accord; the lime blossom adds a soft floral tone, and the sage contributes with its green, herbaceous and minty accord. The opening is pleasant, ultra-fresh, soft, unisex, summery. Just a moment after the initial application, a group of floral tones joins the blend boosting the initial tone added by the lime blossom. I second the Off repellent comment. "Off" isn't a bad smell per se lol, but I see why the implication would be "off-" putting. That said, as a woman I do sort of like this scent on myself. I also liked the smell of Off as a kid, so there's that. It's comforting in a "just got out of the shower and it's almost time for bed" way. It's a nice bedtime scent because it's mellow. It doesn't put me in a more awake state than I need to be. The Citruses are balanced nicely with woods and florals. Bond does linden well, as in Eau De Noho, and I sense the same use of the note here. I see why Manhattan appeals more widely to men, though. It's a few ticks past unisex on the male side and has a certain "male" freshie quality, whereas Eau De Noho plays more off powdery, fluffy accords and the citruses are kept to a minimum I like it enough to use my sample occasionally, but because my preferences are 99% of the time far feminine leaning, I'd never buy a bottle. I'd enjoy it more on a man, for certain. But, don't let the bug spray connotation repel you :p It's a nice fragrance and no fault of its own that a certain bug spray company happens to use a similar combination of fragrance oils in their product lol. Longevity is Bonkers. Lasts on my skin through a night's sleep, the next day and until the next shower. It projects strongly first hour and wears moderately close after that.

I had several samples of Hamptons about 6 years ago. Back then, it smelled unisex leaning masculine. To me it smelled almost like a grooming product. It was fresh and a little floral. I decided to re-sniff since it’s been some years. It smells similar to what I remember but also different. I don’t remember smelling the cedar, sage and lime. I don’t remember it being so sour, salty and citrusy. I also feel it is decidedly more masculine now even though it still qualifies as unisex. This definitely smells like a summer or beach scent without being too sweet. I no longer classify this as a grooming product scent even though there is a hint of it in the background. I almost question myself why I still like this even though it is so citrusy. I’ve come to the conclusion I don’t hate citruses. I just don’t like the smell of lemon heads or candied lemon in fragrances like D&G Light Blue, Clean Clean Provence and Al Rehab Soft. If you like sweet citruses, you may not like this. The mild sweetness comes from the florals.

Bought a 15ml travel size that came in today and it’s nice but not what I was expecting. Great unisex summer scent. It does give off a coastal New England or LI Sound vibe. It’s a salt air freshie. I honestly thought I would smell more linden blossom and it would be more feminine, but I still like it despite it being different than expected. Not a particularly groundbreaking scent, but it’s a good clean summer scent , nonetheless. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing a full bottle. Update 7/26: So, I have been wearing this in the summer heat and I’ve grown to like it a lot more. Still don’t think I’ll be buying a full bottle, but it’s a good clean scent for the hazy summer days.

Finally got to try this one today. I'm surprised it isn't described as more of a woodsy fragrance because the sandalwood and cedar in this one came on strong from the first spray and just keeps dominating the smell as it develops, at least on my skin. I can definitely smell the floral notes and a salty marine-ish note. Someone else described a margarita reminiscent smell and I definitely get that too (in a really good way!) but they all pale in comparison to the woody base notes I'm getting. I'm hoping it calms down in an hour or two. Overall I like it but I'm not in love. Maybe it will smell better on hubby. Does remind me of sailing in Aruba so that's worth something! :)

Ah.. "The Hamptons"! I used this on the hotter days this past summer and loved it, from start to finish. The lime, jasmine and linden are intoxicating and it dries to a nice soft white musk. It's pricey but ya don't need to spray much for the effect. As I wore it, I was reminded of being somewhere like St. Thomas or St. John in the Caribbean and thought to myself, "this must be what a Pirate Ship's Captain would wear," "Limey, Fresh and Gin like".

Very similar to Silver Mountain Water, when compared side-by-side the only noticable difference is that it leans more on a sharp/pepper/citus/(ocean?) note. For myself, I would choose Hamptons over SMW. If you're only going to own a few Bond No 9 fragrances, this is argueably one of the best looking bottles (New Haarlem a close second??? (@ me)). You'd be foolish if you bought this for $625 retail, it's a ~$200 scent at _best_ (I'm just honest).

I don't like the opening at all - it's very sour and floral, quite different from SMW (wearing both atm). Once it calms down they become more similar but Hamptons remains brighter and less sweet with a touch of soap. Overall I prefer the smell of SMW but Hamptons has better performance and is less redundant if you already own Millesime Imperial. I wouldn't pay full retail but for $150/100ml I'm pretty happy with it.

The way this fragrance initially presented itself was lackluster. I love lime so I thought this would be a great fit for me. The opening was super citrusy and spicy. The die down was a pleasant surprise. It was very earthy and comforting. Initial rating was 6/10 while Die Down Rating is a 7/10. I have this as a sample, but I would not buy a bottle of this because it didn't wow me enough to make that investment.

Hamptons rose scent can come off a bit dull on its own, but I have yet to come across a scent that plays so well with others. It's light, airy, white florals accentuate spring and summer scents, particularly in the Bond line. It feels deliberately incomplete. Try layering it with Eau de New York and its a really nice depth to Fire Island's sun-tan lotion parlor trick. The Scottie Pippen of blending scents.

Not worth the price. To me this is just a butt load of white musks, hedione, linalool and topped with a tiny amount of Bergamot. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't smell bad at all. It's just very character-less. It's kinda like Bond No 9's version of CK Everyone. Unisex....clean, airy, whafty....but boring.

I detected alot of cedar in this medium strength citrusy floral aquatic fragrance. The flowers are quite heady and made me think of Summer. The whole composition is a good representation of walking along the dock by the seaside - very pleasant.

Sharp bergamot and nice sea-salt - that`s all what I get. Something is missing in this frag. Maybe some sweetness, roundness. Very manly. Can`t see a woman wearing this. Suits for surf-boy :D

I wore this occasionally in '07-08. I rocked the CRAP outta my 12 sample vials! To me, this is a feminine scent. Very unique.

this is silver mountain water with better longevity and projection

Initial spray was “meh” to me: a blast of citrus freshie that while not bad, was just kind of generic. Once the linden blossom and other florals start to appear though, it becomes a “wow” (and also goes from unisex to feminine leaning). The dry down goes back to “meh” for me, which is disappointing since it seems that for some other reviewers, the dry down is the best part. On me I just get your standard musk+amber+wood combo. I don’t get much projection out of this, and while I REALLY enjoy the heart notes, they’re sandwiched between an opening and dry down that do nothing for me. At Bond No. 9 prices, I need it to be a love from start to finish. Perhaps I should check out Creed’s Silver Mountain Water?

Clearly a clone of silver mountain water which I think is average at best. My favorite part of SMW is the first first 30 seconds of that metallic silver opening, but this doesn't have that. Women generally like this scent profile for some reason so if your intention is compliments or seduction, this might help a bit provided everything else is on point. I just personally find Hamptons, SMW and Club De Nuit Sillage, painfully boring and mundane. Smelling like tea just doesn't do it for me. Scent 3/10

I was gfted this fragrance back in 2007. I used to absolutely love it. Burned through half the bottle. Fast forward to 2021.... I sprayed it on for the first time in forever. It still smells exactly the same. However, I don't really love it as much as I did when I was younger. Perhaps my nose is more developed now. Today as I wear it..... I keep finding myself trying to walk away or hide from myself ..... Like it's too sharp and strong. On a scale of 1-10.... I feel like it's a 4-5 ......

Soapy, musky citrus bomb. Emphasis on soapy. Way different on paper than on skin. This is a sharp, floral leafy tea mixed with bergamot oil. Hamptons smells linen that’s been soaped up and hasn’t been washed yet. This is not a calm or relaxing scent. Too clean, like you’ve been scrubbing yourself incessantly.

opens with a citrus, honey aromatic vibe with a soft spicy green feel and some smooth powdery yet creamy florals. I’m getting a bit of a dry grassy herbal vibe as well. Hours in I’m getting more of the spicy and creamy sandalwood.

I've always been a fan of citrus scents, and at first spray, I thought this was going to be a winner. It offered a strong surge of crisp, clean citrus, but this quickly faded into a sharp and soapy citrus, coupled with Bond No. 9's seemingly-trademarked synthetic displeasure. The florals came out after 10-15 minutes, but by this point I was already feeling the nausea and decided to wash this one off my skin, and change my shirt. Up front, the musky-citrus reminded me somewhat of Creed's Himalaya, as I am not familiar with Silver Mountain Water. Except here, the citrus takes the front seat with musk as an accent, while Himalaya is vice versa. Sandalwood is another common note, but Hamptons lacks the refinement and ingredient quality of Creed. The sandalwood and cedar stir in the background from 1 min - 15 min, before the florals take over. This lacks the pure, straightforward citrus finesse of Frederic Malle's Citrus Bigarade, although the performance on Hamptons is undeniably better. That being said, I'd prefer weaker performance of a better scent over strong performance of a scent I can't stand. The subtle, spicy smoothness of the expertly-blended Xerjoff Nio is also missing, as the floral notes just don't seem to carry the scent as well (and also lean Hamptons slightly more towards the feminine side in place of the cardamom, pepper, and nutmeg in Nio). Hamptons also misses the mark on citrus quality, and ends up smelling more like a Lysol wipe than the sweet, juicy citrus, tamed by the therapeutic cool of mint, that we see in Creed's Selection Verte. For most, I can see this being an easy-to-wear fresh scent, but to me, I get a lot of that "Good God, how many detergent pods does that person use when they do laundry!?" effect, especially if you're unfortunate enough to be trapped in close quarters with it.

Initially this is extremely sharp and synthetic-smelling, just a sickly-sweet and acrid mix of aroma chemicals not pretending to be anything else. At the base is a very strange, menacing note that I don’t like at all and have no words to describe in non-visual imagery. Visually, it’s like a big, dark donut-shaped thing with ragged edges, a little like the olfactory equivalent of the eye of Sauron in the LOTR films. I’m sure this isn’t very helpful, but try imagining how that image would smell, combined with prickly “green tea” and a citrus-scented industrial cleaning product. I do not smell linden blossoms or magnolias, or roses, any of the other real-world notes that are supposed to be in the composition. After the initial chemical blast, the scent dries down into prickly green tea with musk, nothing special, but not too bad at that point. The bottom line is that I do not find that Hamptons has anything to recommend it to me, and would much rather wear just about any inexpensive fruity-floral celebrity perfume. Bond and I just do not get along.

i am beginning to feel that "menacing" note; is it a general Bond base, dare i say, in every one of the samples my fabulous rep at Nordstrom gave me. Here, as it is not as bad as in that scrubber Chinatown, there seems to be an underlying little "ew" that i cannot bear. smells also like men's fragrance, so i am not loving this one either. also, NONE, i repeat NONE of the Creed smells anything remote to Bond. Creed has thier own thing going on, the thing people are noticing, however, is the extravagance of the fragrances - they are similar, but the true fragrances themselves are as different as thier makers. you won't get a cheap synth pear smell in any of these maker's creations...nor will you recieve anything common from either.

Not impressed. Smells very basic...too bland, especially in the dry down. The first kick upon initial spray has some slight musky vibe that can make one think it'll rather tow a slightly more daring rout. Rather ends up smelling like your regular run of the mill aquatic aftershave, which unremarkable performance as well. I'll rate this 1/5. I sampled this together with NY Amber, which was superior to this one...smell and performance wise. YMMV, try before u throw your money away.

A very timid fragrance... on me it's almost not there. It's mildly suggestive of a summer oceanside, but, sorry, it really doesn't make much of an impression. Much more bang for the buck with the same sort of vibe can be gained with one of Guerlain's superlative L'Homme mojito fragrances. This is summer done right! This reminds people of Creed's Silver Mountain Water - I suppose I agree. I thought that was a nebbish, indifferent fragrance as well.

One of the most overrated houses in the niche fragrance game...and this fragrances epitomizes this. This is one of the worst “what did I just spray on myself” fragrances I’ve encountered. No noticeable note from start to finish and no great overall DNA. My only take away is there is a soft fuzzy musk note going one. This is soooo boring. I’m so upset I even bought the sample...what a waste of a money. Do yourself a favor...pass this one by.
