High Line

Each year when springtime starts to come around, I feel as if I'm on the quest for the PERFECT spring/summer fragrance that I can wear each and every day without hesitation -- I've come close (Prada Luna Rossa Eau Sport, Chanel Allure Homme Sport, Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne, to name a few). Recently, I tried a small sample of Bond's High Line. While it's marketed as a fragrance for men and women, I say it leans a bit more feminine... but WOW... REALLY, REALLY nice stuff... and I say this from a male perspective. Could I wear it CONFIDENTIALLY? Not sure. I remember being in TOTAL bliss with three women's fragrances back in the early 2000s, and bought all three. The only one I felt confident enough to wear was Paco Rabanne's "Ultraviolet." Back to High Line... It's spring/fresh/summer/floral/clean/crisp and smells modern. If a woman wore linen capris and a white linen shirt to an Easter or summer Sunday brunch... THIS is what she SHOULD be wearing, hands down! I read somewhere there is a hint of "oak" in the note breakdown and that may be where I'm getting the SLIGHTLY male aspect of the scent, but in general, this reminds me of something a woman would wear -- with just a nod to the man. Side note... if the bottle design wasn't so "girly" as well, my mind would probably process the feminine vs. masculine aspects of this fragrance a bit differently. High Line gets TWO thumbs up from me, however!

First of all, longevity is great. Can smell it on my skin clearly 24 hours after spraying. I'm a pretty "masculine" guy, but I tend to like lighter citrus and florals. I try not to get caught up in the masculine/feminine issue, if I like it I like it, but even this seemed too feminine for me... at first. I've worn my sample a few times now, and I've actually come to enjoy it a lot, to the point where I'm mulling a FB. Women can definitely wear this, but there's a hint of something greenish (what the hell does a color smell like anyway?) that takes the feminine edge off and makes me more comfortable wearing it as a man. I haven't seen iris mentioned, but all the notes combined come across similar to other iris notes I've tried. It sort of reminds me of a slightly brighter Atellier Iris Rebelle with some added white floral. I think the the idea that a man's scent should be woody, spicy, tabacco, ambroxan, etc, is played out. I think scents like this and Sag Harbor are great for men because they're unexpected and attention-grabbing without being aggressive. Don't let your preconceived notions get in the way of what you enjoy. Man or woman, if you're looking for a light, airy, slightly green floral with great staying power, this is at least worth a sample.

One of my staple fragrances. I discovered this beauty during my quest for the perfect freshly cut grass scent -which I haven't found yet- and I fell in love with it. I couldn't possibly describe it better than Hoxx down below -thank you for your beautiful review- though personaly I can't smell the rhubarb note. Which is quite strange because I am a rhubarb lover and I can smell it in Burberry Brit Red, some Nina Ricci fragrances, Hermès'rhubarb etc... So what I like about this fragrance is what many reviewers mentioned: it smells like spring. It is fresh, green, floral and maybe a little bit ozonic. If the scent of fresh tulips could ever be captured, that would be that smell... I have Byredo La Tulipe in my collection. Though I love it I think it is a poetic interpretation of that flower. High Line is the tulip. At least to my nose. Anyway the longevity of this fragrance is not subjective. It is just amazing. So ok, High Line is very expensive but definitely worth the money it you like that kind of grassy green fragrances!

For a change, I do not own this Bond... it came in a bon-bon set. But boy, I can already tell I'm going to want to sniff this more, once my small sample is out... I gladly describe this - and I say gladly, because this is a happy scent. Smile! I quickly think of cool green grasses, white/yellow floral, very light rose, and a 'clean linen' notion. It's very fresh. Being a completely obsessed person with scents (I know, I'm in good company!) I oftentimes give my new samples a 'test run' in front of family or friends: people who will tell me things bluntly. Oh, you know, a quick pass in front to get a good wiff. For whatever reason, my mother has commented each time when I'm wearing this. What are you wearing??? You smell GOOD! Shes a big jasmine nut (Elie Saab, Alien) and I think I can see why someone loving white florals would love this. Right up your alley!

I have been wanting to try this for months. I finally stopped procrastinating and ordered a sample. I'm a lover of green scents, tulips and and...well...every other note attributed to Bond No. 9 High Line. It seemed like the quintessential fragrance for my tastes from the reviews I've read. So many times, I will set my expectations high over a scent I've read about, seen, or heard of, only to be disappointed. This is not the case. Every note is perfect, from opening to finish. Two hours after application, the burst of green has settled and the tulips and hyacinth are sprouting. Half-way through the day, the rose opens her bud. All the while, the sweet-tart rhubarb provides a background chorus. I am in LOVE, and if I don't own a FS bottle of this soon, I feel I shall perish. Sillage is wonderful; lasting power is amazing. Win!

High Line is one of the most intriguing fragrances in my collection. It’s fresh, sharp, and green, without the oakmoss note that I often find off-putting in many green scents. However, it possesses an aquatic facet that can sometimes catch me off guard and even feel a bit unsettling. Despite this love-hate relationship, I find myself on my second bottle, which seems contradictory given the price of the perfume. Yet, I can’t bear to be without it; it proudly occupies a place in my entryway. Many compare it to La Tulipe by Byredo, a fragrance I also adore and repurchase regularly. While La Tulipe offers a more approachable experience with its soft and powdery nuances, High Line remains a unique and captivating choice that keeps me coming back for more.

I’d never really been interested in Bond No. 9 before because I find the bottles clunky and tacky, and I guess I had assumed on some subconscious level that the fragrances would be the same way. High Line is anything but (also, it has arguably the least ugly Bond bottle). The fragrance manages to be light and fresh, while still packing a punch in both projection and longevity. It starts off green, sweet, and floral and dries down to a soft, almost skin scent floral. I personally would have preferred more grass and rhubarb and less of the floral notes, but that’s just my personal preference, as this is actually expertly blended and balanced.

Got a bon bon of this and it is fabulous! I can't stop sniffing my wrist- I have tested this now for past 3 days and it lives up to my expectation every time. First you get the grass, oak and touch of citrus, then it develops these yummy floral notes that are so artfully blended. This lasts well over 5 hours on me. My experience has been wonderful, and I want to buy a bottle of it when my bank account is a little fatter.

I smelled this about a year ago and I ruled it out as an option for me. I thought it was much to feminine/floral. This spring, a friend sent me some samples and I loved wearing it. It is great alone, and as others have said it has amazing longevity and projection. I am absolutely hooked on blending it with NY Oud or Bond No. 9 Signature. I will definitely buy the 100 ml bottle next time!

Spring in a bottle!!!! It begins very floral and green. Reminding me of a fresh spring rain. Then after about an hour or so it becomes a sweet clean fragrance that will be very refreshing once it begins to get hot and muggy outside. Unfortunately, it is a fairly strong floral that I ended up sending back because it gave me a bad headache EVERYTIME at the initial spray.

Love it. Green, grassy , tangy . Had a feeling I'd like it because Madison sq park has been my scent for over 10 years. It's the same brightness as that but like the green version (versus crispy floral/watermelon-ish/. When I first sprayed it it reminded me of the grassy version of HoS Avatar. That quickly disappeared but nice either way

This is very similar to Madison Square Park except where that is fruity and tangy, this is floral and fresh. I like this one much better. It starts off grassy but then dries down to a soft, somewhat powdery floral. Spring in a bottle! It's fresh in a shampoo way that reminds me of DKNY Golden Delicious, without the apple. Mmmm. I want!

green, green grass and flowers, great for a bright early summer day, enthralling and nice but not in my Bond's top ten..surely an easy target for all the Bond - haters out there! got stopped in the street by a guy asking what i was wearing and...immediatly he checked it out on his smartphone...

Oh wow this is so nice! So bright and happy, and I'd even say nostalgic. I get a lot of tulip which I love. Very inoffensive, clean, and comforting. I don't know why but it makes me think of early 2000s in a good way

The longevity on this scent is absolutely crazy. Put two sprays on at 3pm yesterday, today at 1pm, 22 hours and a shower later it stills smells so much that I don't need need to put on anything else!

beautiful light floral fragrance. It is very happy, uplifting and nostalgic. It is like you are walking through your grandmas garden in spring time, and not in a bad way at all.

WOW I LOVE THIS!! Sooooooo fresh and light! Clean with a tinge of green apple and a very subtle hint of fresh cut grass! So crisp and airy! This is DEF a keeper!

Let ignore two things for a moment... One... that this is a Bond No.9 fragrance and as such fairly pricey. and two...That it smells like many fresh scents you've smelled before. I'm perhaps slightly biased as I sampled this scent in the Bond no.9 shop which is almost directly at the end of the High Line, shortly after enjoying a sunny stroll down it. The High Line is truly a great idea by the way and something more cities with similar elevated train lines should adopt, if they can. What I did notice was lots of hardy grasses rather than colourful, delicate flowering plants. (although there is some of course.) Anyway High line the fragrance opens with a burst of that freshness and citrus. I have to say... I wish I got rhubarb from this but I just don't sadly. The sales assistants assured me there was tulips in there and without being specific I'd say a non-sweet floral aroma is there. Hyacinth is absolutely present not something I'm over keen on when pungent but here it gives a nice 'WET' grassy quality. This has to have a woody base for it to sit on and adhere to, I'm sure it's there but I can't really detect it. Maybe it is getting lost in a clean floral musk, which is green and pleasant till the bitter end in the drydown. I like the fact that some thought has gone in to this fragrance about the high line and although when all is told it smells like a generic green/floral scent, the quality of ingredients is still apparent to me. Performance is good and subtly projects as long as you don't go mad with application. High Line is a lovely smelling scent just not one for me and not something I would be looking to add to my wardrobe.

If you could somehow extract the essence of spring and make it a center of your fragrance, can you imagine how would it feel? With this fragrance, Bond No 9 did it instead of me. Imagine a walk through the park, or a well groomed garden. At the entrance you have a fine lawn, with all the blades of grass cut to the same size. They’ve been cut a day ago or so, so you can totally feel its freshness and greenness. As you walk you see a bunch of flowers of different colors and varieties. Getting close to them you can discern them. You see yellow and red tulips, blue hyacinths and a pink rose here and there. Can you feel its bouquet? If you can, you can have a guess what High Line is about. Naturally, there are some differences in the real perfume compared to this story of mine. At first, while the opening is as grassy as it gets, it has a strong dose of sourness coming from citrus and rhubarb. Some of it stays during the heart too, especially the tart rhubarb note. Aside from that, it’s pretty much as I described it above – a green, very green floral, very refreshing and relaxing perfume. Longevity is great and sillage is excellent. This perfume is spring in a bottle, so I see that same season as its most certain aim. However, due to its lightness and complexity at the same time, it can be worn whenever you want to feel fresh and youthful. I’d say that this one is more on a feminine side, yet a man can wear it with ease. A beautiful creation by Bond. 8.75/10

Out of the few Bonds that I have tried and wanted to like, this one finally gets the big nod and albeit the exorbitant price ( they could at least have put it in a baccarat crystal to make sense of the $400 it costs here), I find myself wanting a full bottle. I am tired of using the word "fresh" to describe a scent but unfortunately no other word suffices. Just as L'Heure Bleue makes me literally a little blue and sighing, this scent is a complete 180 and perks me up, like how blue eye drops are supposed to make eyes bright. In a phrase, this is a bottled garden. One with lots of grass and wildflowers as opposed to the hothouse flowers of Jean Patou's Joy. What wildflowers exactly, I can't tell you, but there's a whole bunch in there, with sprays of greens to temper the sweetness. Words that come to mind for this somewhat linear but pleasing scent are: bright, fresh (once again), energizing,(another overused word but does describe this), floral(subdued). For those who like big, loud scents, I would advise to NOT get this, the sillage is close and gentle, the longevity meets approval, about a full working day. For those looking for an understated, gentle fragrance, this would be an elegant choice.

I was finally able to sample this one. Lately I've been kind of a Bond junkie, so I've been trying to sample the many scents that I've bypassed for one reason or another, such as High Line. Immediately, I get a noticeable similarity to Sag Harbor; it's a early-90's sharp "shampoo & hair spray" type perfume, largely feminine to me. There's a "greenness" to it that I almost feel like I'm being tricked into smelling by the beautiful packaging =) Quite strong and two sample-sprays filled the room, but it mellows out and isn't too cloying. WAY feminine though--oh yeah I said that already. . . Not much else I can say about the aroma, other than now I smell like a 25 year old girl going out for Girl's Night. I hope this review is at least helpful for anyone who's like me, wants to sample some Bond's but wants to know if it's mostly for him, for her or good for both? In my personal opinion, this is DEFINITELY for her. It really does smell nice and lasts a good while. Worth trying, not sure about blind-buying because even though this a generally likeable aroma, women are very particular about what they wear =) hit her with a sample (not literally).

I bought High Line mainly because: a) it was 50% off and b) it was in the middle of a perfume buying flurry with a sort of pushy Sales Associate peddling Bond No.9 perfumes. From the ones that managed to stand out was this and Brooklyn (which I was already interested in after seeing it on here and Sephora's website). I thought High Line was a sweet fresh grass scent and the bottle drew me in as well. However, upon smelling it again at home, not surrounded by other louder perfumes, it strikes me as sharp green scent with a whisper of vegetal cucumber-like sweetness. It's not for those sensitive types who can't handle heady scents. It's quite intense and doesn't really mellow out in the drydown. I like it, but I don't really like wearing it on its own so I tend to layer it with another green scents or with creamy white florals (e.g. Kim Kardashian's self-titled fragrance) to round it out.

I went on a sample spurge last year after finding out about Bond 9 perfume house . (Strange name but I assume there’s always a background ). I would say , I found four florals that I liked and two that I purchased bottles. One notable compliment to the House is that longevity is nearly always predominant , hence the hefty price tag. High Line is an unobtrusive , green floral that is safe to wear as a day scent . However , after buying a bottle of Amouage Reflection , I would say I have only room for one crisp , green , pretty floral. I believe the price is not justifiable as the scent stays linear and is nothing unique . However saying that , if I didn’t know of Amouage Reflection before trying High Line , I would possibly love it even more .

One of the best spring/summer fresh florals out there. Beautiful bottle, beautiful grassy scent🌾 with hyacinth 🪻 floating in an aquatic accord....like fresh rain on a warm garden🌦️. For a floral freshie, it does last a decent while. You can tell there were no cheap ingredients used in this perfume. It's pretty linear..what you smell at first spray is what you get, until much later in the long drydown..where it mellows on the skin with a touch of blonde woods and pencil shavings, which I actually enjoy.. Spray it on all, but the most delicate fabrics, no stains. It's a stunner. Try to find a deal on it, as it is Bond no. 9 after all, which makes it pricey. I have a few of their scents and this is a favourite.✨

This is simply pretty. Very light and beautiful. I disagree about the 80's shampoo description. I've worn this and received many compliments. It's not seductive by any means - it has that young pretty girl next door vibe. Inown a large bottle of this and I wear it often. However I sprayed some on my sister so she could try it - at first it was delightful on her too... we went for a walk in the summer heat with my dog at the beach... and after she perspired it somehow mixed with her sweat and smelled like Purell hand sanitizer! This hasn't happened to me but it did happen to her so be warned.

Spring in a bottle. I can't think of a fragrance that smells more like spring to me. Green, floral and fresh. I'm not usually a floral lover but I like High Line well enough. What stops me from adding this to my collection is after awhile it starts to give me a slight headache, there is something in there that kinda reminds me of cleaning products and I think that's whats doing it. It reminds me of Bond No 9 Astor Place. Sillage and longevity excellent as with all Bonds. One of the most beautiful bottles I've ever seen, wish I liked the smell well enough to display on my vanity.

This is one of the best put together green florals I have ever found - beautiful, airy and vibrant without being screechy at all. For me, this one is a genuine 'Love'. Small print, however, I totally agree with other reviewers in that the initial spray is a bit of a punch in the face so go 'well ventilated room', also unless you are going 'power statement' maybe minimise a bit on fabric overspray because it will be in your face all day. Obviously, if you are looking at Bond you know the price point, but tbh, if you can get a good deal this one is worth it.

This starts off quite fresh I can definately detect the bergamot and in the first few mins is comparable to DKNY be delicious. However this really does develop and soon you have a really fresh powdery floral scent which smells very cheerful, perfect for a spring/summer day. I can't really comment on the lasting power as Ive only been wearing this for a few hours but Bond no 9 fragrances usually have good lasting power on me so fingers crossed.

Fresh, crispy, grassy with soft florals. So beautiful and feminine. Out of 3 Bond samples I tried, I love this one the most (the other two Madison Square Park and Chinatown). Will buy full bottle, despite poor longevity. Edit: After second test decided that I like Madison Square better. Ordered a large bottle. MSP is more floral and feminine, while High Line is greener and fresher.

Furrreshhh, green grass, white sunlight, a chilling early spring morning breeze with a very clean linen accord. It’s brisk and optimistic, invoking imagery of a perfect blue sky and a beautiful Park embedded in a bustling city. The mature, sensible and powdery sister of Madison Square. It’s very corporate and appropriate, if that’s your vibe then you do you.

Clean and very pleasant but rather boring, not clever enough to justify the price IMO. The sweet grass note is more abstract/perfume-y than a realistic one (which is what i tend to prefer). Maybe I'd consider it if it were drammatically cheaper... It might work on someone else. I think the High Line park deserves better.

To me, this is VERY similar to Kilian’s Roses on Ice but this is less sharp and green smelling. This has a touch of a clean soapy vibe which makes it better. It doesn’t smell like soap but it’s fresh and clean floral with a hint a grass in the dry down. It lasts long and smells nice.

This comes off aquatic for me, which is not my preferred scent profile. However, I find this to be pleasant. For some reason, immediately I got watermelon, but it was fleeting. Maybe it was rhubarb. I asked what my partner thought of it, and he says something fruity and vegetable. 😉

Green, fresh, floral and has a soapy shampoo vibe, I feel the crispy green vegetal vibe in there too and a creamy white floral hint in there too. I’m also getting a nice dry grassy/leafy vibe which is great. Performance is solid too.

Freshly cut grass! This is basically a salty green floral, almost aquatic, very clean and feminine. prefect for spring-summer. Longevity and projection are fantastic.

Crisp. Freshly cut grass. Very green and clean smelling. Perfect for spring and summer daily casual wear. More than moderate sillage and longevity.

I'm very much enjoying my decant of this - a great fresh green floral. It's right up my alley and out of my price range...

It smells like my grandma's Avon bug spray from the 90s. I expected a crisper green scent, but this is very friendly and nostalgic. Immediately after spraying I got a strong grass note that quickly faded. Unfortunately I can't pick out any of the floral notes or rhubarb strongly, it's just a haze. I think it will be a good grassy base note for a variety of floral perfumes to layer on top.

It's fine but its not great. At this price point there's definitely better options out there.

Bond no 9 HIGH LINE does not smell anything like any of the other Bonds I've tried to date (33!). That's already some good news--and especially for a collection which could benefit from a bit of editing... And HIGH LINE's exciting combination of notes holds a great deal of promise to a floral-green lover such as myself: rhubarb, grass, rose, tulip, hyacinth! Yum! Unfortunately, when the spritz hits my skin, HIGH LINE just smells like another synthetic peony frag. A somewhat watery, greenish synthetic peony frag, but a peony frag all the same. As I have a personal peony problem, finding it very difficult to wear certain renditions of that note, some components of which are clearly present here, HIGH LINE is definitely not for me. If I had a bottle of this, it would sit idle on my shelf--for decorative purposes only. However, anyone who likes peony fragrances will surely appreciate this creation by Bond no. 9. As for staying power, HIGH LINE fully conforms to Murphy's Law of Longevity: the less wearable a fragrance is for me, the longer it seems to last!

im the type of guy who isnt afraid of try something not so A typical when it comes to mens/unisex scents but this one shouldn't be classified as a unisex ! its very floral to the point that it made me feel uncomfortable :( and i had to run to the bathroom while being out to attempt to scrub it off i thought i was safe with only applying 3 sprays boy was i wrong anyways over all my initial thoughts on this scent was that it smelt nice on paper but after 3 sprays i felt like i had a cloud of this stuff covering me all and all if your a female give this a go but if your a guy id stay away or at least stick to 1 spray lol on to the next

Obviously this is far far from the image of the park. This parfume suits more the idea of a poodles with pink ribbon on cultivate grass in city centre. I smell grass, yes, however the chemical smell of flowers is overcharging it. The bergamot is nice here, makes the scent spicy and not fading. It is modern and fresh but there is nothing else to add. Very common, syntetic and pink. Overall - High Line is dissapointment for me. Pity, the annotation was more charming than the product.

I agree with the other reviews that describe this as a clean, greenish floral, but unfortunately my chemistry is uncooperative with hyacinth notes, and the hyacinth quickly drowned out the beautiful rhubarb, tulip, and grass notes, which I can still barely detect in the background. I would love to know what this smells like when it's at its best on someone!

Synthetic and Screechy, almost painful to my nose. It seems out of balance and just like many of the bonds smells. Just Like you have been sprayed by many different brands of hairspray by a hairstylist who is vaguely trying to tame your silly mane, and you are left dizzy and nauseous. 1 of 10

HOTEL FLOWER SOAP I have been continually disappointed with Bond. I find their fragrances unrefined and unnatural. This is no exception. I recently stayed at a Howard Johnson's hotel (more like a motel), and the little cake of soap in the cellophane had this exact scent.

Aldehydic roses, rhubarb and a dash of linseed oil. Smells like a very sexy woman in a woodworking shop. Cheery scent. The kind of scent that ladies who like lilies and sunflowers would like, orange and yellow. Energetic. Sporty. Intense silage 10/10.

Awful! I can get a better frag for 20 €!!! Nothing impressive and interesting. Sorry, but for the price you can get a waaaayyy better scent! P.S Have in mind that I am a floral "maniac", but oh my god, this is really disgusting, cheap and soapy.
